    Home insemination kits

    Hi all,

I have PCOS and after 2 yrs of trying its just not happening as my cycles are very irregular.

Anyway, has anyone tried home insemination kits and how successful were you? what are the do's and don'ts? and where did you get yours from?

    THanks in advance

The home kits aren't any better than DTD because the closest to the ovaries you can put unwashed sperm is the cervix. Sperm needs to be washed before it can be inserted into the uterus and the home kids that I have seen don't do any washing. It can cause serious infections and cramps if you put unwashed sperm into the uterus.

Semen contains prostaglandins which is what causes the uterine contractions... the cervix strips this stuff out so that only the sperm itself are released into the uterus. Semen in the uterus is very bad, sperm in the uterus is great.
