    what are you paying???

    Hey
just wondering what IUI's are costing these days??

its been a few years since i have done a cycle and would like to do another cycle while waiting until we can afford IVF.

If you could tell me what you are paying and who you see that would be awesome

I have just moved to beaudesert, so i have a choice of brissy or the gold coast, i have no idea who is a great FS around this area, so would love any help i can get with picking a good one

    Hi Chloe,

We have just done our first IUI, it cost $1300 and then we got back about $500 for medicare (we were $65 off the safety net). We also had to pay $300 membership which also came with 3months of vitamines for both me and DH.

    Good luck

    Hi Chloe,

I am going through City Fertility Centre at Sunnybank and they are great, Dr Ng is my specialist. they cost $850 in total for each one and I get back $499, so out of pocket about $ 351. Once you hit your safey net you get back about another $50 or so.

    Hope this helps.

    City Fertility Sunnybank

    Hi Chloe,

We are just starting our first IUI with Sharon Li at Sunnybank and our quote was for $1000 with half coming back from Medicare. Sharon has been awesome, highly recommend the group they have been fantastic, she even organised her holidays around my cycle to accomodate our IUI dates!
She has always been upfront about fees and recommendations - no stuffing around. Very Proactive about getting things done. Something both DH and I appreciate.

Yes they are the same clinic (under the banner City fertility Centre) I believe the prices are slightly different between doctors, due to their experience, patients lists etc. Our Doc is only slightly dearer but sounds like we get more back too ?? This particular clinic has like 6-8 different docs to choose from...... we got referred by our GP's to the clinic and then selected the doc DH and I felt would best suit our needs/preferences ( we wanted some one who could take us right thorugh from fertility to OB services...and I prefer a female gyno) All the Doctors profiles are on their website you might want to check it out...
Our experience so far has been really positive - we first saw her at the end of May,tests/ultrasounds for both of us in June, I had surgery done at the start of July and start my first round of IUI with Clomid tomorrow
We also really appreciate that Sharon doesn't treat just Me as the patient but that WE are both actively involved and included in all the processes...

I went with Dr Wynn Williams with QFG South Bank and it cost $650 in February 2009. He is a gorgeous Dr and we ended up doing our IVF with him.

Hi M2C, if I had my time again I would see Dr Kee Ong at Monash at Southport on the Gold Coast, I have heard so many good reports about him, and had a few friends who have been successful with him.

Wishing you the best of luck x

Dr Andrew Davidson at city fertility robina has a good reputation also. Robina or southport are probably closer than brissy

    Smile Hi

    Hi,
We are going to Life Fertility in Brisbane. We have just done our first round of IUI and with scans the day before with FS it cost us $900 and we got just over $550 back from Medicare but we have already met our safety net. We are between Jimboomba and Beudesert and I don't find it too bad to get too (about an hour on a good day). Best of luck to you and hope you find someone you like. It is such a personal thing that having someone you can talk to openly is so important

We are doing IUI through IVF Caboolture. A cycle (excluding the cost of donor sperm) costs $1224, plus a $300 registration fee (which gives Shel 6 months Elevit plus QFG membership, newsletters etc).

We get $500 back until we hit the Safety Net, and then it's $630 back.

    IUI Dr Ng

    Hello Kerbear,

Thank you for your quick reply, i would like to introduce myself, i am 29years old,my Hubby 43. We have been trying to have baby for 4 and half year. my hubby find out have low sperm account and he has serious heart disease. As a woman, i really want to have my own baby, especially i my brother's daughter was born. After seeing the doctor in Mater hospital, doing so many test and appointment, i really want to ask for IUI.

How much they charge for first consultant fee? Second visiting still charge? How much IUI? Any other fee will cost? How many other test do you do before IUI? I have been done the ulto sound, tube blocked test, blood test by the way.

I am also waiting to read your process as well, wish you all the best.

Hey beckylu, sounds like you have been through the test after test that we all seem to have in this process which means hopefully you can start an iui sooner than we did. I can't quite remember the exact costs, our first app was around $150 and got back just over half for that app he did internal exam and all was good, we had bf's sperm check done which cost about the same, from there as nothing was found to cause our problems getting pregnant i had surgery which found endimitriosis that he fixed. My private health covered most of that. We then started iui which cost in total around $800 and ended up out of pocket about $450, some of that cost is the sperm cleaning and the rest is the app's for iui. He billed the iui costs on insemination day and that is the same day you pay the sperm clinic for that part as well. Other doctors in the same clinic cost and charge different so I found out when I changed doctors. I found for me he wasn't the right doctor and we didn't feel informed enough when we asked questions and my new fs has found more things wrong with me that weren't found before as she has had more thorough exams done. I am not by any means saying he is not a good doctor but wasn't right for us and our circumstances. His costs might be a bit different now as our last iui was nov last yr. We had 4 unsuccessful iui's with ng last yr. Hope this helps and I haven't confused you, I am glad I have come back onto bellybelly as I feel a bit down about it all atm cause i am having another surgery to remove a polyp on my uterus and cysts in my right ovary drilled out and it has hit me really hard when i got told all of this. it's nice to remember I am not the only one going through this and there are people to chat to like yourself :-)

    IUI Dr Ng

    Hello kerbear,

Thank you for your reply again. I have checked all the docotor's price and i have been told they charged according to the doctor's sucessful rate. They are slightly different, but they are almost the same. Thank you for sharing your experience, and i am really feel sorry about that. IUI succeful rate only about 20%, i really feel like i am buring my money. The success one just lucky, that's all... Wish you all the best!

We both figure the money is well spent if we eventually get a beautiful baby but it is hard everytime you keep outlaying more. I wondered how they work out the costs, that's interesting what you said. The thing we all have to remember is someone has to be part of the 20% and hope that it is us when we try, that's how I try to keep positive. Good luck with whatever decision you make, would love to hear how you go with things:-)
