Hi bella
Sorry i missed your post and the late reply i too have had iui with clomid and i did fall preg but unfortunately it was ectopic, my SIL also has fell pregant on puregon (and has a beuatiful baby boy)and i know of quite a few people in my mums group for DS that fell on clomid and puregon. I think if anything you may find puregon alot better, it takes abit of getting use to the needles but the side effects are no where near as bad as clomid ( i hated it ) plus they have alot more control with puregon because the dose can be monitered and changed for optimal egg production. I lost my tube with my ectopic and therefore moved to IVF and fell preg on my first cycle but i have to admit the IVF was no where near as bad as i expected because i felt the iui prepared me for it (if that makes sense).
Emm thinkin of puregon side effects no where near as bad as clomid perhaps a litlle moody, you can get a bit of bruising at the jab site but if you press down as soon as you take the needle out (like when having a blood test i think it helps) and of course the bloating. I had a tendency to over react to both meds made too many eggs and had to be cancelled a few times, but again with puregon this could mostly be controlled. The progesterone pessaries are a bit yucky, you get a horrid discharge the day after using them (and dont be alarmed if it orange in colour dont know why) and they give you very similar effects to being preg, inc. swollen boobs, cramping almost like AF cramps and general " not feelin quite right" but everyone reacts very differently and some not at all. I hope this helps, OH i havent used ovidril so cant help with that one, but if i can help at all just PM me. I know what a horrible rollercoaster this can be and it is nice to know what is going on and what to expect. I have everything crossed for you and hope puregon is just what you need to get you BFP.
Sorry still going i also found the book "the natural way to better babies" by F. Nash really helpful for knowing the do's and donts when trying to concieve, some of it is very far fetched and very idealistic but most of it is really good advise. Also if you can get acupuncture i am absolutly certain it is what helped me achieve my BFP ( quite alot of the girls in here would agree) if you have health cover it only ends up costing aboout $20. Wishing you the best of luck and dont forget im here if you need!
