IUI after ovidrel trigger shot but ovulating late?

Hi I am after some advice from you lovely ladies please.
I had an ovidrel trigger shot on Friday and I was told I would ovulate 40-42 hours after that. My IUI was done yesterday (Sunday), but I have a feeling I am ovulating now or will be very soon as I have my usual one sided pain and fertile cm. If my IUI was done yesterday morning and I ovulated tonight or tomorrow would the IUI still be useful? I was given prednisolone to take morning and night until told otherwise - starting last night.
DH and I bd'd last night but I am thinking I might have to do it tonight aswell! Is this too much? I just dont want to waste the cycle - it's gotta be our turn soon!

    Thank you in advance

    Hi Aries

Firstly, I'm really sorry for your losses. Um hopefully it will be ok, but I can understand if you're worried. My clinic told me that after ovidrel I would ovulate 24-36hrs later so I would take it at say 8am Monday then have the IUI 8am on Tuesday.

Hmmm...thats probably not too helpful sorry, but they say its better for the swimmers to even there waiting for the egg, so I think earlier is better than later.

I sometimes have really strong ovulation cramps too, but I think if you've BD/IUI at least every 2nd day it should be ok as they say the sperm can last up to 72 hours (upper limit - probably less in general). But My FS said it can't hurt to have extras swimming around aswell. Sometimes I have to tell myself to relax and trust my FS. But do whatever you feel most comfortable with. We have fallen pg on months when we did extra BDing and once when we didn't.

    Take care

That's ok, it can be so confusing sometimes!

I have had pain after ovulation which I have heard somewhere can be your follicles shrinking back down? I (and some of my friends) have also had stabbing one-sided pains in my ovaries in the 2ww on months when I have had a bfp as well.

Hope everything is going well and FX for a bfp for you this month!
