Re: I've just found out me and my hubby need ideological and ivf
Hi there
Where are you up to now?
You can check out stages in lamens terms on my blog, at dinkdiaries.blogspot.com
In terms of ICSI, there is lots of research about higher fertilisation success rates for your embys which is great.
There is also research out there around ICSI not really allowing for 'survival of the fittest' in terms of sperm. What that means is that some specialists think that nature can take care of a lot of weaker sperm because the stronger ones 'win the race'.... ICSI messes a little with the natural order and doesn't give as much room to separate good sperm from the 'bad' which is leading to a slightly increased chance of miscarriage or genetic deficiencies.
The increase in my research is less than 1%, but I thought it was worth calling out....
It may help to know that if you are successful to be a teeny tiny bit more cautious (but not panicked) in the first 12 weeks.
