Smile Just came back from appointment with FS

I have seen a FS today and she was absolutely lovely. DP unfortunately was not able to make the appointment though it is always like pulling teeth to get him to go to any medical type appointment for himself let alone me lol.

I am having the uterine polyp removed on Wed 29th October at the Freemasons . She mentioned however that there are only so many d&c's to remove the uterine polyps I keep getting because there are only so many that can be done or I would not have any chance of getting pregnant. Julie said that we need to get me pregnant pretty quickly before another polyp grows (last one was removed in Jan of this year) . Julie will start me on Clomiphene (sp?) in Jan, 2009 because she said it can make you a bit moody being on it and the last thing I want to be is moody around Christmas and New Years

Julie has also referred me to Metabolica to see a dietician. She said it was set up by fertility specialists for people like myself who have PCOS. She is concerned about my cholesterol and sugar tests. She said it would be harder for me to get pregnant if I was a diabetic making things more complicated. I am not a diabetic but I do have a glucose intolerance so I am on the way of becoming one if I dont do something about it.

My DP however has to have a semen analysis done and thats going to be an interesting convo I will have with him tonight after work . Julie said a 3rd of the time it is the males who have the issue and can create more issues. My DP is soooo not going to like this being done but she said that he can do it at home and I can take his sample into the hospital, keeping it close to my body because it has to be kept at body temperature hmmm again that will be interesting but not as interesting as having to refrain from sexual activity 3-5days before he dtd for the lovely lab lol.

Sooo hopefully sometime in Feb / March I will be able to make an announcement that we are pregnant here At least everything is finally getting sorted and we are on our way to having a bundle of joy in our arms .

    So the plan is,

    * have surgery next Wed to remove polyp
    * See Dietician from Metabolica to help me lower my cholesterol, and diabetic risk etc
    * Start Clomid in Jan

    and of course

    * still continuing to see the Naturopath

I mentioned to her I was seeing one and I will also mention it to the dietician because who knows the naturopath may find a way to level everything out so another polyp wont return and the whole partial hyster thing wont ever become an issue

Thanks again for reading this incredibly looooong post and wish me luck with DP tonight, imagine telling a typical burley aussie bloke who works in construction he needs to give a semen sample lol. Fun Fun Fun

    hello,

glad that your appointment went well with Julie today - i think she is really good and i'm glad that you liked her and her advice. good luck with dh and his little test - it is a shame that your dh was not there as Julie is really good with the guys - got my dh on board and he sounds like your dh - the typical bloke who thinks putting his swimmers in a plastic jar is the worst think in the world LOL!

sounds like you are on a positive path to your BFP - good luck and wishing you well for the rest of your journey.

Thanks fg, DP really gets embarrassed and I think she would also be great with him. She TOTALLY understood how a lot of guys are, she wasnt surprised at all and she was EXTREMELY supportive. Julie is lovely and I would highly recommend her to anyone

    Thanks again!!!

Glad to hear that the appointment went well.

It took my DH about 6 months to go and have his SA done - we had only been TTC for 6 months when he got the referral and then it sat around and gathered dust till he finally decided to go and so something about it. Good luck!!
