AF is here. :(
8 days post EPU... this is not a good sign! But, it could be because I'm not using crinone, it could be because I'm taking evista to help fix the OHSS, it could be related to the reason AF arrived only 7 days after the first time they gave me a trigger shot...
I guess I'm even more relieved that we didn't transfer anything - I had a suspicion this would happen. I'm glad the appointment is on Thursday - so many questions!
We have to go out now, no time for more...

Mel - i sorry hun, this stuff is so hard. have you had ant therapies before? i have been seeing Antonia.(have you heard of her through other threads?) i think its all worth a go but they can be very costly, its like weddings, people hear the 'W' and wack on a profit, people hear 'IV' and then they sting ya.
BW- can i ask isnt it a good thing for you to get AF?so you can start another cycle or at least know how long it may possibly be until you witll do a FET? Also doesnt AF help with the over stim?
Summer - havent seen you for a while - im sorry about not feeling too good, hope the panadol kicks in for you. good luck at you appointment
Shannon - i think i missed the post as to y your having the lap and that you FET was canciled, i hope they can give you some answers sweet.
As for me - the nurse stil hasnt found my file but im going for a scan on the 16th so i will get a better idea by then as to what is happening. my shoulder is still a bust (well my hand really ) but back to physio tomorrow and DH is away for the night too. which i dont like but at the same time need some time to myself. such a busy weekend we went to hastings to visit a friend and really didnt want to stay the night so tried to drive DH van and trailer a boat home in the dark but DH gave me the wrong directions and was so drunk that couldnt get me back and took me down a dirt road it was so scary, i did yell and scream at him so much, i was so upset (maybe the HRT kicking in) so finally turned around after a kind man came out of his house to help!!!!!went back to our friends and stayed the night - didnt start talking til this morning and that was Sunday night!!

lou - sounds like you had a nasty easter. sorry to hear that hun. i had DH get so druink on Friday night he couldn't focus, and was beyond the ability to put himself to bed - i so wasn't happy! he went to the loo at one point, so i asked my brother if he could pretend to be tired so DH would give in and go to bed (Bro was sleeping in the rumpus room, so DH couldn't keep drinking) - thankfully we were at home, so it was only a case of navigating the hall way - i think i would have been might pi$$ed in your situation.
summer - sorry you're having a tough day hun. hope the pain relief kicks in soon, and you can get your work stuff done so you an take yourself off to bed early
shannon - good luck with your lap on thursday.
BW - i was thinking the same as Lou - that AF would help get you over the OHSS. it's not great that it arrived after 8 days, but if you've been dosed up on hormone altering drugs to get you over the OHSS, it doesn't surprise me that it's happened. at least you have your appointment on Thursday, and knowing that AF has shown up will give you and your FS an idea about what's going on. i'd be questioning the lengh of the LP after your trigger shots, but i'd be hazarding a guess that it's due to no hormonal support from crinone. take care of yourself - last thing you want is to let yoursef get any more run down now that AF is here...
as for me, well, i made it to work for all of 20 minutes this morning. wasn't feeling too great when i woke up this morning, but decided i'd get up and drive the 40k trip to work, hoping the drive would be enough for me to get whatever it was out of my system - obviously not! my glands are still inflamed even after almost 2 weeks of antibiotics, and i'm fairly uncomfy under my arms and into my arms/bbs. also managed to strain a muscle in my upper back/shoulder last week (i wish i knew how!!), so my whole left arm has been driving me nuts. not sleeping again cos i'm uncomfortable, but i'm sure i'll get over it. back to gp tomorrow to follow up re gland.
have finally started to feel something continuously from the puregon - it's not painful or annoying, just a bit of a heavy feeling around uterus and ovaries - as silly as it sounds, that heavy feeling has actually put my mind at ease a hell of a lot. well, only one more sleep til we find out if it's at least making a bit of a go of things this time around. and tomorrow is an RDO for at least half a day - i may work in the arvo after i see the quack so that i can have friday arvo off, but i'm not sure - will depend on how i feel tomorrow.

BG- Best of luck for the BT tomorrow! What a bummer you are feeling so yuck, you poor thing, it seems to be one thing after another for you! So hopefully that means that you're due some good luck with the BT tomorrow.
Lou- Hmm, your Easter sounded a bit stressful! I definately would have been pi$$ed! Goodluck for your scan on the 16th - hope they find your file soon!

Well, things are still going along here, but I do have a bad feeling that AF will show up. I've been sleeping so badly and feel nervous butterflies in my tummy nearly every moment of the day and night. It's awful. BT on Friday morning....but I just have a bad feeling.
Carrie - here's hoping you have butterflies for good reasons hun - i'm really hoping for you to get good news on Friday!
yeah, i think i've had my share of bad luck (according to my chiro i must have run over a really important chinaman in my previous life to deserve this much to happen!) - am hoping it's just my body's way of purging all the bad stuff so that i can get good news this week - i just want to make it at least to scan stage so we can see what is going on!!
feeling a little better now - DH came home from work and knew i was feeling miserable, so dragged me into hisarms for a snuggle and a snooze - was what i needed today i think! he is just so sweet sometimes!

Had a good night - a friend I hadn't seen for ages gave me lots of compliments on having lost weight and looking great - which is so what a girl needs while fat and bloated with OHSS! It does seem to be stepping back a heap with the arrival of AF, so even though it is raising questions about my luteal phase, I am feeling LOTS better.
I really don't know what's to happen with FETs... hopefully I will find out on Thursday, at this stage all I know is that there will be time on the pill, and that my FS may be cross seeing me so soon after EPU - I re-read the documents and they said 4-5 weeks after EPU... but I've got questions NOW, dammit! And I do vaguelly recall when heavily dosed on panadeine forte trying to find out from the clinic when I should make an appointment and getting off the phone with this one... I'm sure it will all work out!

ME: DH and i go to pick up puregon in the morning and get shown the injecting technique (fun,fun,fun!) then i start my injections tomorrow night. trying to work out the best time to do it as i take my synarel 7.30 am and pm and was planning injections same time, but then again im going to PINK concert next friday night and dont want to worry about doing it in car before going into concert. maybe i will aim for 6pm. im always home then eating dinner and watching the news. oh well im sure i'll work it out

Well.....I did a hpt first thing this morning.....and got 2 lines!!!!!! One is fainter than the other, but came up quite quickly. So fingers crossed that it is true and confirmed by the BT Friday!!! I'm a bit excited though!

If I were to admit that I'm secretly relieved we didn't transfer just yet, and that the thought of actually doing a transfer some time in the future is positively terrifying... would I seem quite crazy?

BW - 4 frozen blasts is a fantastic result!!! Our last 2 cycles we got 18 eggs each time, and both times only got down to 2 blasts that were good enough to use - we had them both transferred each time, and so have never had any frozen... 4 is an amazing result, congratulations!!!!
Initially its a little overwhelming when you think about how many you started with - but this is the beauty of blastocyst culture - imagine having all of those other ones frozen and having 15 months worth of transfers all BFN's because the embies were never going to make it - at least you know the ones you have left are the ones that are good enough to make the distance;)

As for us - well just a horrible month here on the TTC journey!!!
My cousins hubby had his 40th last week, and it was a disaster.
It was at a club, and some how, there ended up being a few "Working Girls" present (If you know what I mean) - Not sure why, but I think maybe for the benefit of some of his 40+ yr old mates???
Anyway, to cut a long story short, one woman in particular was a little too promiscuous, and DH ended up asking her politely to tone it down (there were kids aged 3yrs - 18yrs there)
It ended up getting heated, and another guy hit DH (for making this girl feel uncomfortable, can you believe it???!!)
DH ended up with 8 stitches in his lip, but the worst thing about it all was that the guys hand was ripped open - blood from both of them everywhere.
Because this guy (apparently) has a history of sleeping with these types of girls, the dr that stitched DH's lip made him have all of the BT for any yucky diseases...hiv, etc etc so we haven't been able to BD until the results came back.
Thankfully they came back clear and all is ok, but as luck would have it ovulation happened over the time that we were waiting on test results, so no chance of baby making this month:(
I am more than happy though that everything is ok - and his stitches came out yesterday, so its like it never happened now.... ahhh what a week!!!!!!!

Thats my vent for the day - not a whole lot to do with TTC but it involved it enough to mention!!!!

Carrie - woohoo on the +hpt! Thats fantastic news :) . And OMG about what your posted in the last thread about the trigger shot, i was squirming in my chair! There is no way i'd even be able to attempt to do it myself once, let alone having to have six goes it it! When the time comes i'm going to just shut my eyes and hope DH gets it right!
Holly - OMG what you guys have just been through is terrible! Glad to hear everything is ok though.
BW - i don't think you're crazy at all - thinking about the transfer terrifys me to - I guess i'm not scared of the transfer itself, just the thought of it being unsuccessful, i try not to think about it too much. Goodluck with your appointment tomorrow.
Sonya - enjoy the Pink concert and i hope the injections arn't too daunting for you, sounds like i'm only a couple of weeks behind you.

Well day 3 of the syranel for me today, i have followed all of your advice and gone with having it 12 hours apart, just means i have to be up at 6:30am on the weekend but i'm sure thats not going to kill me. Haven't had any nasty side effects yet which i guess is a good thing, AF is due today, had some nasty cramps but no sign of her yet i'm usually well and truly spotting by now. Can't wait for the next two weeks to pass so we can move on to the next step (as much as i'm dreading the needles!)

well i had my first injection of puregon today....under the watchful eyes of 2 co-ordinators (one a trainee, but still a nurse) and my DH!!! a little daunting, quite uncomfortable as i am a featherwieght and have NO fat to pinch so its just directly into tummy (ouchee) but i think i should be fine as its only a few seconds of discomfort.

Boo, My AF was late with synarel too (and Im normally a 28day girl) so dont worry too much. I was excited, sort of, knowing that the next phase was about to start. Hope she isnt too nasty to you.

Actually, it sounds like Easter was a bit of a bummer for everyone! We were supposed to get a heap of painting done but only one room (sort of )got finished and we still have
chaos everywhere cause we intend doing other rooms. We shall see.
Me, I am very sure the puregon is working its magic as I am quite uncomfortable already and EPU isnt till monday at the earliest. I am sure I can feel the difference each day after the inj the night before does it's work. Last night I had a shocker of a night and I'm sure I only slept 3 1/2 hours! I have had the worst tension headaches as I am swinging constantly from being excited to terribly nervous and anxious and have mainly working evenings, getting home around 12.30pm then trying to wind down. I do have a bit of an anxiety problem and just cant seem to let things go. I just keep obsessing over things. Cant wait till the TWW!
Gosh, I'm sooo tired. I am normally a great typer but today I am making the worst mistakes cause my brain wont work. It should make things interesting at work tonight. I will have to go have a lie down beforehand, especially as DH had just got home so we might go have a little cuddle/snooze. No hanky panky with how tender my ovaries are feeling!

Sazz - good to see that you're feeling the purgeon working (shame about the tender ovaries though - a suggle with benefits is always nice!). when do you have your BT to check about EPU on Monday?
Sonya - yay! you survived your first injection - and with the added stress of spectators!! it's all happening!
Holly - OMG - what a terrible weekend you've had - your poor DH!!! hope he's feeling ok now (stitches in your mouth just suck!!) - sorry you missed the eggie this month hun, but i'm so happy that everything has come up clear for you and DH.
boo - yay on no side effects from the synarel so far! it's so nice to get started on a cycle (even if it does taste so bad!). if the 6.30 wake up call on the weekend sounds harsh, do what i do - put the synarel beside your bed, snort when the alarm goes off, then go back to sleep!
BW - there's no way you sound crazy hun! you've been to hell and back to get those blasties in the freezer and to feel scared of taking the step to transfer them seems natural to me. you have four potential bubbas there, and they've fought so hard to get to where they are, and with the way your body has been misbehaving, it would be understandable to be worried that it's not going to work out - however - you're a strong person, you have faith in your FS, and i'm sure he's not going to transfer if he doesn't believe there is a real chance that the embie will stick. SO - my advice - talk to your FS tomorrow about your concerns that your LP is short and may be harmful to an embie. Ask all the questions you need to ask to set your mind at ease - and remember, you have proven you are a fighter and able to survive some really ordinary things - and you ARE strong enough to do this!!
As for me - well had my BT this morning, and waiting rather impatiently for the clinic to call me to see whether i've finally responded to the meds! have had a really rotten day so far - went to GP and found out my lymph glands are still enlarged, so off for an u/s on friday for that. had to have another BT and the second nurse was nothing short of a butcher! my arm still hurts. GP also decided to check the muscle pain i've been having cos of my strained back (has spread to shoulder/chest/arm) - due to family history of heart disease, ended up having to have an ECG - FOUR times! the first three didn't work!! everything came back normal (which i told the GP they would), but it just ruined my day. so, i've come home now, and been thinking about things. have come to the conclusion that the world is throwing all this bad stuff at me now so that we can have a baby soon, without any bad luck at all! well, that's my mind set at the moment, and i'm sticking to it!!
Horray BG on your attitude. I was just thinking the same thing while reading your post. I am sure you are getting all the bad stuff out of the way now so you can have a cruisy time of pg and birth. Fingers crossed for you. I hope the clinic call soon to put your mind at rest and that you will be doing IUI around the same time I have EPU. Thank goodness you can relax about the Heart stuff. Although you already knew it must be nice to have it officially ruled out, even if it took 4 tests to get it right. poor you!
I am having a scan and bloods done at sparrow's fart on friday (7.30am for those of you unfamiliar with sparrows fart time!hehe) which will mean getting up around 5am for the 2hour drive and then driving back again to start work at 10.20 am hopefully. My boss will be there to cover for me if I have trouble getting back on time but I'm sure it will be fine.
Hope everyone has had a good wednesday , hump day of the week. Does anyone else feel the week AFTER a long weekend actually feels longer? Im sure its because you are expecting it to feel much shorter and also cause you have 5 days work to do in 4!
i so totally agree - OMG - the week after a long weekend just drags SOOOO much! i guess the extra days at home just mess with the flow of your week, and make it so hard to deal with!!
good luck with the "sparrow fart" tests on Friday - you really must live in the middle of nowhere to have to travel 2 hours for your tests!! i know my u/s is a bit over an hour away from home, which is bad enough - would hate to have to go to Melbourne (just on 2 hours) for treatment! thankfully, the lab where they do all the testing is only about 30kms from home - still a bir of a drive, but not too bad - especially considering everything else we do is around the same distance!
well, just got the call from the clinic. they've pulled the pin - my body hasn't responded to the puregon again. maybe i just need to getback to themindset i had before i got together with DH - i was happy with the idea of not having kids. maybe i knew something back then and i've just been stupid enough to let myself hope this dream could come true...

but... before I met my DH I too never wanted children, and was quite happy that way, it all changed when we got together, though.
Just as I am confident that one day I will have children, I'm also confident that you will, too. It just means the journey is a little longer and a little more complicated, but you are not at the end of it yet!
I'm sending both you and Summer the biggest of hugs, and just wish I could be with you both to offer a shoulder, and tissues and chocolate. :hug: :hug:

Oh BG, just read your post. It made me so gutted for you. I wasn't going to post at all tonight, but i had to give you some :hugs: :hugs:. You obviously have passion and a lot of strength to get this far. I hope a bit of time will give you clarity on things and what to do next.

BG- I am so very sorry sweety :hugs: what awful news. One thing I am sure of though is that you are a fantastic person and will be a great mother, so although it seems hopeless at the moment, please don't give up hope. Did the FS discuss what steps would be taken now? Would a different stim injection such as Gonal F rather than puregon make a difference? We are all here for you sweetie. Take care of yourself.
Sonya- Yay for having gotten the first injection done, I think the first is the worst because of the anticipation of it! I think you're pretty lucky not to have any fat to inject into - at the moment I feel like I have ample, want some of mine?
Sazza- Goodluck for the scan and BT on Friday. Hope it all goes well. I understand how you are feeling with the headaches and sleep problems. The last few weeks I've slept shockingly, waking up a few times each night and straight away started stressing about things. It is so tiring! Hope you get through work okay!
Boo- Just make sure your DH doesn't expect it to go in as easily as the others - make sure he pushes hard. As someone else said, it just seems bounce straight back off! Glad to hear you haven't had any effects from the syneral. Hope AF arrives for you soon!
Holly- Gee, your poor hubby. I'm glad to hear that the tests came back okay though, that must have been a relief. And what a bummer that it fell right on the time of Oing!! Hopefully next month will be a good one.
BW- Yep, I don't blame you for being nervous about a transfer. After what you've been through lately it must be somewhat of a relief not to have the stress of the tww atm, you probably need the mental health break!

have spoken to DH about where we're at with this whole thing, and we've dicided it's ok to feel miserable for a day or two, then we have to refocus - SO, we have an FS appointment on the 26th, and until then we're going to try and "tone down" the house reno's for a while so that a bit of the money we have stashed can be used for IVF if needed. we'll get the new kitchen (cos we need it) but the laundry makeover can wait til we can save up some more $$'s - we're not gonna give up til the FS tells us we've exhausted every possible scenario and then some!
now i just have to tell my brother (aka our contractor) that he only has to do the kitchen for now and that we might want some of the money back
BG - You are so brave and soooo calm. I am sure i wouldnt hold together as well as you seem. i think that this immense courage shows that when you become a mummy(which i am sure WILL happen!) you will be FANTASTIC!!!!!
All my fingers and toes are crossed for whatever venture you try next.
By the way Carrie i am trying to find a way for me to absorb fat from people who dont want it!! I have offered plenty of friends upto $100 KG, but the strange thing is they prefer to LOSE the weight rather than sell it to me..(HA!-HA!) I am only asking for 10kgs.
I guess it shows that we are never happy, no matter what size shape or form.

i'm calm in writing - have had my meltdown at home, and am bound to get upset over the next couple of days, but i have to pick myself up and keep going. there's no point in me dwelling on the fact that i hate my body for the way it's behaved - isn't a particularly useful way to feel, and stewing on it isn't going to help me deal with all the other health issues i'm going through at the moment!
i think i've also had to deal with this somewhat calmly - a friend of ours lost her mum in an accident at the weekend - i think in the grander scheme of things this seems so small - we've hit another pot hole (ok, maybe a crater!) in the road to having a family, but it's not OVER - IYKWIM??
i'm not a particularly brave person - in fact, i'm something of a sook really - i've just had to accept the lot i have been handed and keep going. i don't have the emotional strength to deal with a complete emotional break ATM, so i can't afford to have one!!
Don't sell yourself short, BG! You're stronger and braver than you realise... you've just got to remember that what we are all dealing with is damned hard!
I don't know if anyone can answer my question... but is AF after a stim cycle supposed to be heavy and clotty and just ick? I want to get into my cyklokapron to make it ease up, but I don't think I should with all the other drugs I'm on... I'm really getting nervous about the appointment tomorrow - when I found a bit of paperwork that said the appointment should be 4 weeks after EPU, and I'm not even going 2... I'm worried he'll be cross that we're there, but that's when the receptionist booked me in! I was confused and drugged out of my scone, and that's when it ended up being... Got the paperwork from the clinic in the mail today - between the appointment with the FS, one of the lucrin kits and the freezing fees we're up for $510 - ouch! And then DH has an appointment with the urologist on Friday, another $170... this is expensive!

BW- Not sure about the period question. Don't worry about the FS, it's no skin off their nose and you have important questions to ask!
Hmm, I haven't got the freezing fee yet - we didn't have any last time so I don't even know what it is!
Carrie the freezer fee is included in your all up stim cycle fee with MIVF. BW is paying for bits and pieces because she didn't do the full stim I would guess. You will get a bill every 6-12 months from them for continued storage but that's it.
BG Hun you have so been through the wars lately...I liked the analogy of runing over a chinaman....I have been saying a similar thing but more that I am doing Karma for my early years....just wish I knew when my karma was going to be all paid up so I could move on...hmph.
Congrats on your early BFP Carrie...fingers are crossed here for a BT confirmation on Friday.

BW AF for me after stim was very heavy and clotty I think it is normal because they try to build up your lining so much so bubba sticks, try not to worry too much unless you start to soak a pad through every hour or so then ring the nurses straight away.

You are right SAzz a few of us seem to be doing this the hard way recently, I just wish I could get myself out fo the life sucks rut I have got into. I can't even afford to go on a decent retail therapy spree!!

BW - Just wanted to say that AF for me after each cycle has been exactly what you're experiencing... Mel is right, its because of the build up of the lining. Because you have been having the acupuncture on top, it would be especially heavy also... Good to see that what Leah is doing is working!;)
You can check with your FS about taking anything to help it, however, from my experiance, its best to just let it go.
I spoke to my acupuncturist last time, and she made me promise not to do anything but let it do its own course... apparently from a chinese medicinal point of view, they believe that AF is the body cleansing itself, and to let your body create its own amount of blood flow to rid itself of everything "old & stagnant"... if that makes any sense???!!!
BG - Sweetie, I admire your strength & positive attitude... Its the only way to continue this fight we all have on our hands!!!
It usually only takes a short while to gain some clarity again, and once you speak to your FS with a new plan of attack, you will be just as enthusiastic as you were when you very first started!!!
I also, used to look at this with the attitude of karma (and have used the chinaman thing, also!) - I once even had my cards read and asked the man reading them about this theory!!!
He said that karma is not that cruel... sometimes it sure as hell feels that way though!;)

PS - BW - On our first cycle when we didn't have anything transferred, AF showed up within 10 days also.... FS said it was because the lining was built up in preperation throughout the cycle, but without the crinone, there was nothing to hold it all in place... if there's no transfer, then get it out as soon as possible I say!!!!;)

Thanks, Holly and Mel... I'm really hating it! The pain has kicked in this morning - so just as I start feeling better from the OHSS, I'm now doubled over in agony with cramps - can't win. I have an acupuncture appointment this evening, so hopefully Leah will be able to do something to help... damn good thing I'm off work at the moment!
Still feeling nervous about the appointment today - my brain has grabbed hold of the 4 weeks thing as opposed to 11 days... yes, I was confused and drugged up when I was making the appointment, and I feel that I've got a lot of questions I want to ask now, and I'll probably forget them in 4 weeks (heck, I think I've forgotten some of them already!)... and I'm confused about what is to come next with going back on the pill and stuff, but I just can't shake the feeling that I've done something terribly wrong and I'm about to get in trouble - ugh!
I may not make it back until quite late tonight. Not feeling keen on the Windsor - Parramatta - Windsor - Rozelle - Windsor drive today, it gets exhausting even when I'm feeling well, so I may go hang out at a friend's place in between which should let me rest up and reduce the driving just a bit.
There really are so many of us doing it tough... in the ideal world we would all meet up for coffee and have a big rant together and walk away feeling so much better. It's just a shame we are all so spread out it's not physically possible. Sending big :hug: to everyone who needs them and praying that Carrie's blood test tomorrow is just the start of better news to come in here.
ETA: and thanks again, Holly! Although, the fact that I only got 8 days is still worrying me a bit. 10 I could have coped with, the scientists told me between 10 and 14 days, 8 is just a wee bit shorter than I would like - I guess I shall know more in a few hours.

I would appreciate a list of side affects just so if they happen, I will know its all normal.
I start the injections ,etc middle of next month so a very nervous time for me - never thought it would be this hard to get pregnant.

thanks for all your kind words - i agree with so much of what has been said - if it wasn't for BB i don't think i'd have made it through the past couple of months. everyone else here seems to just "get" what i'm feeling, and being able to share what i'm feeling with people who understand has been huge. i think i've grown to know a few people on here really well, so i'm comfy in expressing what i'm feeling - even if it is the bad stuff - so i'm dealing with it so much better, and your support has helped me immensely (and DH - he loves you all to bits!!).
well, the past 24 hours has been very different to what i expected. I honestly thought that the cry i'd had when i first heard cycle was cancelled again was just the start of a massive melt down - but i'm doing surprisingly well. yeah, i'm still upset, but not that "i'm gonna bawl any second" kind of upset (thought i was almost there once today at work!). i took myself off to bed a lot earlier than normal last night, and figured i'd have a really rough night - but by the time DH had his shower, i was out like a light, and didn't stir til his alarm went off this morning - probably the first solid night sleep i've had in weeks. i still feel really flat, but not the way i expected. maybe putting my thoughts into words on here last night helped out more than i thought, cos i'm coping so much better than i expected!
DH has just walked in the door, so i think we're off to see my brother - he's flying back to WA for a month or so tomorrow, so want to say goodbye (plus DH decided we'd have Pizza for dinner since we're going into town - not particulalry good for the diet, but it sounds so damn good!!)
