Hi there Mel, thanks for that info. That’s a relief! Hope you and Dh are doing well and that you find a way to go forward with the IVF really soon.
BW- Hope the appointment has gone ok today hun! I agree, how good would it be if we could all get together for a coffee and rant?!
Female- Yep, it is such a nerve wracking time doing IVF. I hope that it all goes well for you.
Ellie- Hi there! Good luck for the EPU tomorrow!! It’s great to have you join us!
BG- You are doing so well sweetie, I’m glad that although it is such a difficult time, you are finding that you are able to cope. You must have been exhausted last night, so a good sleep has probably also helped a bit. Have a nice pizza pigout, you deserve it!!
Hi to Boo, Holly and Kotare, thanks, so much for the well wishes for the BT. I’m pretty scared about it! I’ll come on and let you all know as soon as I know! for a good result. Hope you are all going really well!

:) I'm back, I'm tired, I'm in LOTS of pain (that will teach me to forget my meds when I go out!), but I have survived.
Won't be able to go into full details, I need to go curl up with my heat pack and wait for the pain meds to kick in...
but... Tomorrow I start drugs for a trial run of the ovulation induction process that will be used for the FETs if possible - letrazole, if anyone has heard of it. I got another lecture about my frame of mind and changing my focus, and congratulations for having the 4 blasts in the freezer, but ultimately, I walked out pretty happy.
Back later... if I'm still awake...

Hi All,
BG... Sweety, I'm so sorry that you got cancelled again. I am cursing my work timetable that I missed your message last night and havent seen it till just now. I feel bad about rambling on yesterday about me and my ovaries! You poor thing!!! I must say though that you seem to be in such a strong way emotionally about this. I really admire you and the way you have handled it.. you are an inspiration to a lot of us here in this thread but I'm sure you dont even know it! Heres hoping your FS can figure out your cycling to get you organised really soon. Meantime, be good to yourself.. lots of treats!
Hi Ellie!!! Welcome to the madhouse, and best wished for EPU tomorrow, I wont be far behind you with mine hopefully on monday. Are you having IVF or ICSI?
BW, sorry AF is being such a mean cow. I have felt the same way after each cycle, (not that it's much different for me normally anyhow). Just know that the drugs did what they were supposed to do for your uterus!
Boo, hope she turns up for you soon so your BBs get some relief! Keep on sniffing....so tasty isnt it?
Carrie, we are all sitting here with everything crossed that your results come back quickly to give everyone here a little boost. Good luck and let us know ASAP ( we will understand if you have to tell DH first but we want to be second lol)
Hi to everyone else. I want to add that I agree with everyone else here that you all make me: laugh, shed a tear or two, feel important, better informed, feel I'm understood and not alone, and give me strength and hope!!!! I hope I do the same for you all too!
Me, I'm quite uncomfy now and will be heading to bed early tonight after a naughty tea of pizza. mmmmm it was good though!
Will come on tomorrow night to let you know my progress with the scan...
Hugs from Sazz

GOOD LUCK TOMORROW GIRLS!!
Carrie- fingers crossed for the blood test
Ellie- hello there and good luck for EPU. i noiced you from perth...me too....who are you going through?
im seeing dr mazzucchelli and concept fertility clinic at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
-
well, seems tomorrow is a HUGE day for this thread!!
Sazz - good luck with your scan hun
Carrie - fingers crossed for a nice high hCG level for you to confirm your pg
Ellie - good luck for EPU
Summer - hope you get the answers you need from your FS tomorrow.
BW - woo hoo, as tired as you sound, at least you sound content with your appointment outcome. and YAY on starting again tomorrow (albeit a trial run) - that's awesome hunny!
well, the visit to my brother ended in tears, but not cos anyone deliberately upset me - we were initially only going to visit for half hour or so, but they hadn't eaten dinner and asked us to stay (for KFC - even WORSE for the diet than pizza! there's no KFC where bro lives in WA...) anyhow, i took SIL into the shops to get dinner and was telling her what happened (told bro earlier today), and all was going really well til just after dinner. SIL's cousin turned up with her newborn - and i just HAD to leave. told SIL it wasn't cos of the baby, but i almost ran getting out of there! turned the music in the car up really loud, wound the window down (it's really cold) and drove home without talking to DH - ended up in tears when we got home. was almost afraid to come inside. he asked why, and i tried to put my thoughts into words - told him i couldn't come inside cos i was so upset, and i knew if he did even the smallest thing to get to me, i'd yell at him, and it wasn't his fault, and i just didn't want to do that to him - burst into tears, which lasted only a few seconds, and then i was ok to come inside. he's sitting on the couch beside me reading the paper - and so far so good, i haven't exploded!!!
two more weeks - i've waited longer than that - i KNOW i can make it to the next FS appointment with my sanity intact!!!
oh yeah - woo hoo - this is the last time my bro is going back to WA!!!! he got a job today at home, starting in a few weeks!! plus he might need an assistant, so DH might have a new job soon. woo hoo woo hoo woo hoo!!
-
Ok, I have just caught up on all the news, that will teach me next time! I will try to reply to almost everyone if possible, but will say a BIG hello just in case I miss some :hello:
Megan - Hope you have a great holiday.
BW - Glad to hear that you DH is taking care of you. Gosh, I hope some of that pain leaves you soon.
BG - Is your u/s on your lymph glands tomorrow? Hope all goes well. Glad to hear you had a solid nights sleep last night too. Have you been able to get some of the gastrolyte icy poles yet? I had some for DD, and I thought they were horriblly yuck! Hope they taste better than the drink.
Smudge - So sorry to hear about your last cycle. lots of hugs
Shannon - Hope all went well today with your lap
Lou - Hope your missing file makes an appearance soon! Sounds like you had an interesting easter!
Carrie - OMG @ your +ve HPT!! So excited and happy for you. :) Will you have the results tomorrow from your B/T? We have to wait a couple of days for results as they are sent away.
Holly - Good to hear that your DH's tests came back all good.
Sazz - Your sparrows fart time at 7.30 gave me a good laugh, thanks :)
Well, had my progesterone B/T today, wrote about it in my journal (which I started yesterday) She got 2 vials from my right arm and then the blood flow stopped just after she started on the 3rd one. Had to go to the left arm. I walked out of there into the waiting room with a little cotton ball on each arm LOL. I had a little laugh at some of the look on people's faces PMSL.

good morning everyone
hope everything goes well for the girls having blood tests, scans and EPU.
just a quick question, this is my first ever cycle of IVF. i have been on synarel for 3 1/2 weeks now and started on 100IU of puregon wednesday. i am finding it so hard to wake up now and was asleep in bed by 8.15 last night. is it normal to be so drained? i have been taking elevit for 2 months now so i know its not my iron levels. DH is a bit shocked coz usually i am bouncing off the walls. he thinks it might just be from being anxious and the whole experience being new to me... WDYT?
-
Sonya, I had the same fatigue type thing happening when I was on synarel. I thought it was because I wasn't getting to sleep in on the weekends like normal as I could never get back to sleep after taking my morning dose. Fatigue isn't in the list of usual side effects, though.
I'm racing around trying to get ready for DH's urologist appointment... big woohoo for me - I can fit back into my normal clothes and I'm back to normal weight! YAY!!!!
Keeping fingers crossed for Carrie and her blood test and Summer and her FS appointment... And I'm sure there are some other important events I'm forgetting!
BW

Hi Ladies
Just a quick hello and wishing Carrie heaps of luck for today!! Fingers Crossed!
Well the lap went well i am really sore and feeling quite sorry for myself.. i prefer EPU anyday! But good news they didn't find anything else wrong and found out i dont have endo so thats nice to take off our list of fertility problems! Tubes and everything else were perfect.. so just PCOS and male factors... hmm
So now i rest and wait for AF to arrive and we double the dose of drugs and try the FET again.. well back to the lounge vecause DH keeps telling me very sternly to sit down and not move!!
Good luck to everyone andi will catch up properly over the weekend, but cant wait to share in your good news Carrie!!
S
-
BW - YAY for being able to fit back into your normal clothes.
Shannon - Good news that they found nothing else wrong and no endo.
Nic
-
Great news there, Shannon! Good luck for the next FET, too.
Urologist appointment went well... he was on time, and we were in and out in 20 minutes. He does think a repair is worthwhile, but can't guarantee just how much it will improve sperm quality, but we'll try anyway. Also thinks the embolisation rather than ligation is the way to go and is referring us off to some surgeon at RPA to have it done, rather than a random local guy. All up, quite happy with that... and DH is happy that nobody's talking about scalpels near his 'nads any more!
BW
-
BW - That's great that the appointment went well.
PMSL at your DH being happy that no one will be going near his 'nads with a scalpel!
Nic

HI everyone - I'm just popping in quickly before I go have a snooze (but I'll be back later).
BT was positive!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooohoooooooo
HCG level 220.
The nurse kind of spoiled it though cos when she rang up she asked me if I had started bleeding. My heart dropped, thinking well if she's asking this then it must be negative. I said, No why? Then she said, oh well that's good, your pregnant then!!!! WTF?
Apparantly she HAD to ask to make sure nothing had changed since this morning. Weird!
Anyhow, I'm soooo happy! But exhausted from the worry, so am going to have a nap. Let's just hope everything just sticks nicely now!
-
Carrie that's fantastic! Congratulations and lots of sticky vibes being sent your way
Nic

Carrie – Woo hoo – great news.
Boo – I am in the same situation as you – No AF (only 2 days late for me), and sore BBs. Not sure if it’s the BCP or the Synarel or both, but I feel a bit odd. I liked my old predictable 28 day AF. I’m tired and moody – DH is a lucky lucky man. :)
Ellie – hi, and welcome.
BW – I’m sure DH is very relieved – men are very protective of their bits and pieces. It’s good that you have something to do now instead of just wait – even if it is only a trial.
Shannon – hope the lap recovery goes well, and it’s good to know they found nothing.
Nic – can’t believe they needed both arms for your BT. Oww.
All that talk of pizza (BG and Sazz) now I can’t think of anything else
Have a good weekend everyone :hello:
-
Just posted on your other thread carrie, but again a big fat congratulations!!!!!!
-
:wall: What an afternoon!
I realised that today was 11 days since the egg collection, which meant it was the last day to get the discount on the anaesthetist bill... and do you think I could find it anywhere?! NO! After phone calls to DH at work (not here!), the clinic (all the scientists and nurses who can access that information have gone for the day) and generally turning the house upside down (again! after last night's search for the damn referral letter which turned up in DH's car) I found contact numbers for the anaesthetists on some information from the clinic... then managed to ring them and pay over the phone with the credit card - phew!
Now I'm really confused about how the whole medicare thing works... the clinic information has suggested that we'd only be out of pocket somewhere between $500 and $750 for the full stim cycle. I took the receipt to medicare today, and the refund figure they quoted me left me with around $1200 out of pocket - not including the non-claimable blastocyst culture fee... I'm really confused as to why our OOP is so high, but I've got no idea where to start looking to find out exactly why, and I'm simply not in the mood to try to begin searching just now!
First letrozole tablet tonight... I'm starting to feel a bit scared and nervous already.
BW
-
Carrie  congrats once again on the BFP, that is wonderful! Grrr at the nurse for making you panic like that! All the best for a H&H pregnancy, hopefully we'll all be joining you soon.
Kotare - I've been sleeping heaps too, i must admit though it is nice to go to bed and fall straight asleep instead of laying there for hours! Hope AF doesn't keep you waiting too long. I keep getting cramping in waves but she's still not here.
BW - have you already paid for EPU? Not sure if it's the same everywhere but my clinic told me i can't claim it all back until after the EPU. Good news about DH :)
Shannon - glad to hear they didn't find any endo. Hopefully the lap has done the trick and your next cycle is successful
Sonya - this is my first cycle to, as i said above i'm finding i'm needing more sleep to. Other than that how are you finding it?
Nic - How did the BT go? I'll have to read up on your journal when i have some free time.
Sazz - lol i wouldn't say the syranel is tasty but it's not as bad as i expected. Hope your scan went well.
Hi to everyone else :)
-
Bw were any of the items listed related to the hosputal admission for the EPU. If so you can take the medicare statement to your PHI and get some more back. Also when we went to claim back from medicare MIVF had not processed all of our payments to them thorugh medicare. Medicare will not pay out on those items until they have proof that you have paid your portion. It got very confusing...I ended up going to medicare three or four times to sort it all out but I am guessing maybe you weren't paid out properly because the IVF clinic may not have processed all its bits through the medicare system at their end. Its worth checking out anyhow.
-
Hi Boo. i guess its the Synarel making me feel drained- i keep telling myself its practice for pregnancy. i started my ivf cycle on the 20 march and now have been on Puregon for 3 days. So far apart from a little soreness for 1/2 hour after injecting i have had no problems. i just hope its working. i remember reading past posts and people mentioning a swollen ovary feeling. none of that here. its like i am still only on Synarel. the Synarel did delay AF by a full weeek and now i cant sleep without an upright fan on me coz i must be a few degrees warmer in body temp than before. otherwise so far IVF isnt really interfering with day to day life. i go for blood test next wednesday and hopefully levels are fine and i can have ultrasound thursday and then trigger. they said if all goes to plan i should be having EPU Sunday week!!!! but at the moment one day at a time.
-
Hi ladies
Carrie - Congratulations!!!!! You can sleep well now!
I too am going for a nap...EPU all done...13 eggs..on Friday 13th!!! Felt fine until I got in the car then chucked the whole way home. DH was so sweet...while I was in theatre he had 'borrowed' a few of thoses lovely spew bags and put them in the car...just in case...came in handy...scared a few people at the servo when we stopped for fuel...I wonder what they were thinking
So...until tomorrrow...11am...the fertization phone call...here's hoping!!!
-
Ellie, it's a very nerve-wracking wait! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a really good rate for you!
I've decided to put the medicare thing out of my head and to deal with it when I'm finally out of the OHSS and AF from hell brain fog. Until then, I can run around in circles and get nowhere without even realising it.
BW
-
Well done with 13 Ellie!! isnt that a coincidence that it is fri 13 as well.... hopefully you dont need those spew bags anymore, but if get to EPU next week i will tell DH to grab a couple just in case. Rest up and good luck with the first of your phone calls tomorrow.
-
Congratulations Carrie on your positive Blood Test
Ring and double check with medicare.
I have written down everything in my TTC Journal that I could think off. Its all a bit blurry now. My head is throbbing. Short story, only option is IVF/ ICSI
-
Hi girls,
YAYYYY Carrie! So glad you can relax a little now that you have the official results. GRR at the meanie nurse doing that to you. I'm sure she could have done it a different way even if it is necessary to ask that.
Well done Ellie on your EPU. Great numbers! I hope I can do as well as you. I hope you feel better soon and your phone call tomorrow is just as promising.
Shannon, Hooray you can cross Endo off your list of worries. That must be such a relief. Hope you recover quickly from that nasty Lap. I remember it well and that was nearly 10 years ago for me!
BW, Hooray about DH nads being safe! I'm glad the appt went well for you two. Another thing less to worry about now.
Sonya, I aggree about the synarel making you tired. I really feel it now with puregon in me too but I also was thinking it is nothing compared to how preg. must feel so I am thinking of it as a warm up!
Boo & Kotare, hope AF gets her thing done for you when she is supposed to so you can keep on track.
BG, how are you feeling today hun? Are they just going to let you stop drugs or do you have to wind down/take something else? Hope you are coping ok.
Summer, Nic, Megan, Mel, Female, Loula, Smudge, Holly and anyone else lurking... HI. I hope you are all doing ok.
Me, I had my scan today and after TWO nurses having a look, and prod and squeezing my tum etc they finally found they could sorta see my left ovary which they measured 4 follies on and said there are probably lots more because they measured TEN on my right side!!! Horray! That is the most I have ever gotten at scan so lets hope they are all good ones and can give an egg each. I have to go an extra day on puregon to get levels up or size up, I'm not sure which, so I will be having trigger sunday night and EPU on tuesday. It is a bit of a bummer organising work around it but bad luck, they will just have to cope. hehe. I asked what my levels were today and they said 6.2. What does that mean? I have only heard ppl here talking about 1000's.... is that 6200???? I wonder. I am sooo looking forward to getting to EPU because I am getting quite sore (especially after uncomfy scan today!!!).
Hugs to all from Sazz
-
hi all - so much happening today!!
ellie - congrats on the eggs - good luck with the fertilisation rate
carrie - woo hoo - yay on the posiive BT - the nurse must have given you a decent old scare though!
BW, Summer, Sazz - have written in your TTC journals
sorry for no more personals - have had a long day - appointment for lymph node scan was supposed to be at 4.50 - got a call at around 4.30 asking me if i could reschedle - they were running behind and need to have everything closed down at 5 on the dot this afternoon, is it at all possible to reschedule to next week. so scan not done - have to have it on monday afternoon - i guess in some ways that's better. i'm not too uncomfy at the moment, and would rather not have had the scan until after the weekend - less time to wait on results!! silly way to think i know, but studied medical science at uni, and if i pick up parts of comments from the technician, i'm likely to stew on what they might mean, and i'll do my head in if i'm not careful!
-
BG - Bummer about the scan having to be rescheduled!
Summer - Replied to you in your journal.
Boo - Hows things? All good here :) Have to go in to get the results, they won't give them over the phone, but I wasn't planning on doing it over the phone anyway so that's cool! Will go back in a couple of weeks or so and get all the results at once. Will probably take me another 6 weeks or so as I'm trying to make appointments in around DH's roster.
Ellie - YAY for 13! and on friday the 13th too!
Sazz - Goodluck for Tuesday, hope there are plenty of eggies :)
Nic
-
Sazza- great result from the scan today and Yay for OPU on Tuesday!! The extra time would just be to grow the follies a bit. Hope you get some good ones!
Ellie- Good to hear that EPU went well, 13 is fantastic! Rest up tonight. I hope you get some nice numbers tomorrow too!
Sonya- That’s good that you’re not having too many side effects. Hope the BT and scan are good next week.
Shannon- Great to hear that the Lap went well and you have no further problems to worry about. So you are like me – PCOS and male fert. Problems. Hopefully the FET will go well this cycle :goodluck: Have a good rest over the weekend.
Boo and Kotare- Hope AF turns up soon for you both!
BW- Goodluck with starting the meds tonight! Can you call accounts where you do IVF? Accounts at MIVF are always really good at working things out for me.
Hey BG- Bit of a pain about the cancellation, but you’re probably right…less time to stew on things. I’m glad you’re not feeling too uncomfortable.
Hi also to Nic, Summer and Mel and thanks everyone for your positive vibes and congrats. I just hope it all goes okay now. And I hope that lots of you will soon be joining me!!! I'll be popping in often to see how you are all doing. Thanks so much for all of your support and listening!
-
Wowee what an afternoon in here....
Carrie - Congratulations what wonderful news.. exactly what i needed to remind me why im sitting at home in a lot of pain on a Friday night!! Hope you have a safe and healthy pregnancy!
BW - Just one thing i would mention when our clinic quoted us on out of pockets costs they didn't mention that that is only ig you have already hit the medicare safety net otherwise it is more. Just thought that migght help...
Sazza - Congrats on the results of the scan sounds like you are in luck for EPU on Tuesday !
Ellie - Congrats on great numbers from EPU fingers crossed for your call tomorrow!
Boo & Kotare - Fingers crossed for AF i am now on the same wait day 30 and nothing in sight! Good luck with the waiting game!
Well still sore (and whingy) but DH is being fantastic.. and would you believe this we put our car in for a service on Thursday was meant to be ready at 4.. and then they call yesterday arvo and say they need it for today as well so DH has the day off (he is an IT nerd and needs the car to drive to clients) and the we get a call to say it wont be ready until Monday arvo!! Furious!! With all the time off work for IVF DH can't afford much more so we are paying an extra $180 to hire a car for the day as well as the $1000 the car service is costing us.. thank goodness they throw in the free vacuum makes everything alright (sarcasm!!)!! Ahh just needed to vent very frustrated unfortunately as you would all know the IVF money well runs out eventually!! Oh well... thanks for listening.

Hi Ladies a quick one from me. youve all been very busy and im still finding it so hard to keep up plus my bloody hand still is giving me jip.
BW - i always love doing triles. i hope you get a great result and a very positive outcome. i was on a trial for metformin for PCOS when i was 13!!!!gosh nearly 15 years ago!! Lol at DH and im sorry i cant help with the medicare stuff im hopeless at all that.
Carrie - wowee you really have had great sucess, first time for both i hope it rubs off on some of the other newbees. Congrats hun i will be following your journey in the pg thread.xx
Ellie welcome and great news on EPU. fingers crosse for you.
Sazza - they can never find my overies!!but great news on the scan
Shannon good to hear that your feeling a little better and that you are heading forward with you TTC journey, ill be stalking.lol
Boo - she always keeps you waiting when you want a visit. hope af arrives soon for you
Kotar - not long now. GL
BG - sorry to hear about you canviled appointment, let us know how you get on
Hi to all
Well my file turned up and the nurse was really great, (i thought i might not be liking her, as she was a little s@$ty with me for calling all the time but i wanted them to find my file) so still good to go for scan on Monday.wooohoo. i hate scans im always so uncomfortable and they always find something wrong!!like a wooping cyst or more fluid on my tube!
Still im in a bit of bother. WARNING TMI TMI TMI WARNING. i dint go to the toilet for about 3/4 days and when i finally went yesterday i bled a lot, now its nothing for me to bleed alittle even when iam reg but this was heaps (like af from my ass!!) but DH told me not to worry, well i went again tonight and the same happened. i have been very slak with my diet so will fix that up at the weekend. (i only eat stone fruit so this time of the year is YUCK!) but will be back on the seeds for breakfast for sure! Do you think it could be the new meds?
Sorry for the TMI but if i cant ask here then whats the point
GL ladies
-
Lou, you're doing great for having a bunged up hand and all! The bleeding sounds just nasty... If I've been badly constipated then I'll usually have some bleeding, I can even get some bleeding if I've had diarrheoa (damn that metformin! will be so relieved to start back on the slow release stuff!)... after constipation I guess it's that I've split slightly, after diarrheoa I'm guessing it's just irritated, sensitive skin. I've never really had a LOT though. It might well be worth having it checked out. Just a few crazy questions... did it appear to be coming from the anus, or from inside? did it stop when you were done or keep bleeding for a while afterwards? If it was internal or didn't stop quickly, then I'd be taking that as a sign to get checked... and of course if it keeps on happening.
Shannon, that's unbeliavable about the car - I've never heard of a service taking more than a couple of hours, let alone days! Makes me wonder if they botched something and are trying to hide the fact... I do hope your wait comes to an end soon.
BG, I'm a bit the same - having to wait a long time always does my head in! I'm still hoping and praying that they won't find anything serious when they do the scan.
When DH got home and I talked to him about the medicare rebate thing he pointed out the fine print that assumes we've reached the safety net limit... well, it was that payment which hit it for us, so I'm guessing that other cycles we do we'll get the full listed rebate. This just goes to show that I should not be trying to work out financial stuff while in this brain fog! Can't wait to have my head back in functional order again.
One more weird question... I know you can't do back to back stim cycles, and I know they make you wait a cycle between the stim cycle and the FET cycle, but is it possible to do back to back FET cycles? I'm suspecting yes as my FS is letting me use the letrozole as a test run this cycle, then I'll be on it again for the FET next cycle, but I just want to be sure! I'm just thinking that if we need to do another stim cycle, I'd like to get it in this calendar year to take advantage of the safety net threshold... I guess the better approach would be to believe I'm going to get pregnant with one of our current snowbubs so I won't even need to know the answer to that question, really.
BW
-
Hey bw thanks for you reply
This year i have done back to back FET without a cycle in between, can i ask what does the letrozole doe for your cycle? also ive been told that some clinics dont like you to do a stim until all frozen have been used, i dont like this as we are all to awear that they may not servive esp when you may only have two left.
I dont know y you wouldnt be able to do back to back stims thought?
Dont forget that medicare safety net is calendar year so youve got till end of Dec and youve got to count all the ob's fee's into that!
My FS has just uped my dose of metformin from 5oomg twice a day to 850 twice a day can this constipate you? on the bleeding its really only when i wipe but the water is RED bight, not sore, and it does stop after two/three wipes
IVF really doesnt keep anything secret.lol
-
Lou It sounds suspiciously like a haemerrhoid to me and the constipation and straining has popped it...you might need to get it checked out at some stage. if it just when you wipe and is really fresh blood is probably nothing sinister, it indicates that it is very low don in the bowel so either a fissure/cracked bum or a rhoid....take your pick.
WOOHOOO way to go Carrie...can you let us in on what the secret is?!!!
As far as I am aware BW back to back FETs are fine as long as you keep paying they will happily take the money...hehehe.
-
Hehe at taking the mula Mel
And thanks for the info re my bowel.lol might just get it checked along with the hand sometime nect week, still for now one finger typing it will be.lol need to find out how to stop the bleeding if its a roied, dont want it to get worse if i get pg this cycle.lol
-
Lou, letrozole is some funky drug that my FS is going to try to use to get me to ovulate. He seems to prefer it to clomid these days (he used clomid for a friend of mine a couple of years back), and it's only PBS approved for the treatment of post-menopausal breast cancer. From the information I've found it's relatively new, and the doctors seem to either love it or hate it. It effectively does the same thing as clomid - you take it for 5 days at the start of the cycle, and then sit back and wait, but it works on a completely different mechanism in the body so we're hopeful it's not going to cause the same anxiety problems as clomid did for me. It's basically the only way I can do a natural cycle, and he says he gets better pregnancy rates with natural cycles, so we're giving it a shot. Although, this cycle is just the test to see if it will work for the FET. Praying real hard that it does!

Shannon- What a bummer with the car! I hate spending money on car’s, which reminds me, mine is sooo overdue for a service!
Lou- That’s good that your file finally turned up. Hmm, I don’t think the nurse has much right to get Sh@%&y, I would have been calling up all the time too! I hope the scan goes well on Monday. As for the bleeding..Ouch!!! You poor thing! I think a trip to the Dr is in order.
BW- Yeah, DH and I try to schedule everything for the same year for Private Health stuff and the safety net. Once you hit the safety net it is soooo good!!!
Mel- Thanks. I’m still trying to be a bit cautious about it all as it’s early days. Don’t know if I have a secret, but if I did it would be: Praying and Praying EVERY night and when I wake up throughout the night (that’s why I’ve been so stressed and tired!), Nanna and Sister praying over me, and fantastic FS!
-
carrie - i think the worry never ends. if it helps im praying for you too.xx
-
BW - so when you say natural cycle you dont mean IVF?

As natural as it can be - no progynova and stuff. I think they called it a hormone preparation cycle? He wants my body to produce all the right hormones without being forced into it. I guess this is as natural as it can get for me - tricking my body into ovulating, rather than using the brute force approach of the puregon. If it's not making a lot of sense, it's probably because I don't really understand a lot of how it works at all. What he's doing with me isn't published in the information from the clinic, so I don't have a lot to read to work it all out myself - just my friend google!
ETA: sorry, Lou! I'm a bit slow tonight! This cycle will be non-IVF, just checking to see if the letrozole will work. The next cycle will be a FET cycle, using the letrozole to make my body ovulate so it's possible. I just realised what you were asking! (I think!)
