Im glad I went but then I am scared I am going to get my hopes up again. Terrified in fact. Then if it doesnt work I will be devastated. So it's your job to kick me if I start being positive and optimistic :lol:
DP is worried about the side effects of all the drugs. I'm hoping one side effect will be a baby!
FS said he had a woman just get pregnant on her first cycle with him - treating for NK cells... SHe had had done 29 cycles with other doctors :o
Oh yeah, he wants me to up my dosage of coQ10 from 300mg a day to 600mg a day.
Great news N2L! I understand the not wanting to get your hopes up. It sounds like you will be doing exactly the same as I am on this time. I hope it works for you:) after such a long journey already:)

29 negative cycles, & a positive with him - that's not just coincidence. did he tell you her age? could be i guess, but not likely. maybe you could just start out slow - dont have to jump straight in to the serious cancer drug treatment/jabs in the uterus etc. you could try the nk cells thing, see how it goes... add the other stuff in later if you have no luck? its a lot to take in atm, and im sure you have some serious dr googling to do - but at least you got some info that you didnt already have. there are options/alternatives to try, if you decide thats what you want to do.
(btw - im glad he was able to treat you for all your issues, repeated ivf failure/infertility, rather than getting hung up on the weight thing.)
Wow N2L! That's a lot to take in! Kinda nice to know that there are some other options out there - guess it shows how it is important to get a 2nd opinion sometimes.
Whether you get your hopes up or not, it will still be a kick in the guts if it doesn't work. Try to enjoy the 'hope' while it lasts xxx

Wow, 29 cycles? That's unreal, I love this lady's perservenience and finally getting someone that made it happen for her . I'm glad this new guy has got some new strategies hun, and there is no reason why you shouldn't get your hopes up. I am feeling a bit lost in my cycle, I am thinking if it doesn't work I will either have a really serious chat to my FS or I'll change to someone else. I just don't see how this guy thinks that doing what worked in the first cycle 4 years ago is going to work now. I did my homework and suggested a few things but he still said to stick to what worked. The thing is, my eggs are much older now & my AMH is very low.
PS - Are you doing something similar???
my turn - both my oncologist and my current FS recommended him. My FS did the referral. He is at Monash. I am currently at MIVF. I can PM you his name if you like. He is known as a bit of a maverick.

Stim cycle using Colorado protocol & my first cycle I had an injection into the uterus at transfer did your FS mention what it was actually called?
I take 600mg CoQ10, Vitamin D, fish oil, elevit, progynova & melatonin. My DH laughs at me when I say I should rattle! ;)
Oh & this time I am taking the G-CSF injections daily it's pricey but when you look at how much a cycle costs, what's a bit more if there is possibility it might work! (I'm in the optimistic part of my cycle sorry!)

The injection is just pregnyl (hcg).
Can I ask how much the G-CSF is? Is it Filgrastim? Do you have any side effects???

It is filgrastim, it is priced per vial I get 2 at a time & it costs me $345. How many injections you get per vial depends on your weight & it has a short life span so I can only pick up 6 at time. I havent noticed any side effects but I have been pretty lucky in not getting any in either of my previous cycles.
I can say this time I have had cold (I don't usually get sick so I'm guessing the meds for NK cells are working nicely :roll eyes:) I have also felt really full & bloated, which didn't happen last time. Will find out if we are good for EPU tomorrow.
Surprisingly yes my FS does have those initials;)
I think I've still got a couple more cycles up my sleeves with my current FS for now - but PM me his name (googled Monash and I think I know who you mean... but send it to me anyway....) and if nothing happens this year I will have his name up my sleeve ;)
I do have a couple more years until I will REALLY freak out about my age..... I just hope I get ONE soon, so I have time to fit in another in a couple of years.
It is reassuring to know that there ARE options, at the moment, it just feels like we do the same thing, and up the medication - I'm not sure how that's going to make things stick...???!! when it's 'sticking' that seems to be the problem.... they fertilise well... really well! so it's just implantation.... my FS even agreed with me when I said, at this stage I wouldn't feel so bad if I HAD miscarried, at least I'd know I CAN get pregnant.... (although rationally I know that would suck BIG BIG BIG time... and I am sure I would NOT actually feel better about it.... but YKWIM??)
Hi N2l, I am always reading how you all are and the info you share while I am on a break and wanted to ask what your AMH level is, I have been told mine was very low and had no time to wait. Was just curious as no one has given me an estimated time of how long I may have.
I know like all the other girls I so want this to happen for you, you give great advice but also keep it real which sometimes we also need xo

my first ultrasound is on Tuesday - am not expecting much to be happening, I usually have to go back a few times ;) but FX something good is going on down there ;) lol I think I have had phantom ovary cramping from about 10 minutes after I did my first jab :rofl:

Thanks n2l, mine AMH is 1.7, which scares the crap out of me. I am assuming I must have a bit of time cause my FS told me to have 4 mths off and lose weight and take meds to help my egg quality. But unfortunately the 4 mths is coming to an end and financially and cause of my hubby needing surgery we need to wait till November. I am petrified I don't have time for life's balls.
I also have all my friends having their babies at the moment and find myself to be that awful green eyed monster again and hate myself for it :-(
I miss being in here to talk at the moment, we are only trying naturally and don't feel I should be in here unless I am on a cycle as I am not tracking anything.
I hope you are all traveling along well and get to go to the tww soon and then off to a belly thread :-))))

Also, re your AMH, what measurement is it?? I mean, is it pmol/l or ng/ml???? It might not be as bad as you think!

Interpretation AMH Blood Level
High (often PCOS): Over 3.0 ng/ml
Normal: Over 1.0 ng/ml
Low Normal Range: 0.7 - 0.9 ng/ml
Low: 0.3 - 0.6 ng/ml
Very Low: Less than 0.3 ng/ml
Oh Emma :( sorry babe. The bleeding after a stim cycle took me by surprise the first time. It was n2l who told me that all the progesterone makes it heavier (I recall she followed that up with - just to rub it in) sucks bad. You should be able to do an FET straight away. I did in march after my failed stim in feb - I'm with mivf too :)
Having the frosties certainly helped me feel like I had something more I could do.

Oh Emma, I'm so sorry sweetie :hug: I'm kinda dreading it myself, don't feel much in this TWW. One of my friends did a FET straight after a stim cycle and that was OK to do. My FS always told me that for some reason in his experience with IVF, women do better with FETs than fresh transfers. I really hope you have much more luck next time sweets. They'll just monitor you for your ovulation and put the embie in at the right time.

Mrs Mac, I'm going mad in this 2WW. I have done a test 1 dpt and I got a faint pos. due to the trigger. I then tested 2 dpt & 3 dpt and got very definite BFN. I skipped testing 4 dpt but did one this morning at 5 dpt and it's still blank :( I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that I might not be so lucky with it sticking this time. Last time I got a BFP at 6 dpt of a 2 day embie, this time I got a compacting morula embie grown to day 5 so not quite a blastie, on board. I figure I should be getting a BFP if the embie stuck, around 6 dpt for sure???? So not looking forward to testing tomorrow, I always said that if I could be a good girl and not test at all, I would definitely test 6 dpt. Can't wait for you to join me soon!

N2l the report says my level is 1.3 pmol/L, it says anything less than 14 is suggestive of failing ovulatory reserve so I am assuming that as mine is right at the bottom that I am well into running out. This was done in aug last year.
Myturn - yes I will go back on the list if ok, I am Cd 22 natural cycle.

GL Mrs Mac, see you in the crazy world of 2WW! My advice to you would be to lie still for 30 or so minutes after your transfer and then be a couch potato for 2 or 3 days after :) I hope you'll get your BFP in this cycle hun xoxox

PS - I was a little confused about the price of the filgrastim. I know the dose is dependant on your weight, but how much is it for the six vials?? How much is in a vial? Also wondering if you could tell me where you get the DHEA and melatonin. I know you can only get them from compounding chemists but I have heard that some chemists are better than others...

Emma, if you want to go again straight away, you will need to ring the clinic ASAP and report Day 1. It might be an issue if your FS has not written up a treatment schedule for you. Have you got a review appointment? I have done lots of back to backs, so, in theory it is not an issue.
AFM - I have upped the dosage of coQ10 I take. I was on 300mg, now on 600mg. I will also start melatonin soon. Still a little unsure of the DHEA. I need a prescription for that anyway.
As I wrote previously, I have a hysteroscopy/biopsy scheduled with my original FS on the 30th. She was only doing it because I asked her to. It was going to cost me $1500+. My new FS can do the biopsy part in his office on the 23rd ( testing for NK cells) for about $100. He said he would probably cancel the hysteroscopy. I am not sure what to do.
I don't think my original FS was going to "do" anything, just have a look. Opinions welcome :)

hmmmm... N2L ..... if you've changed specialists and you've already had a hysteroscopy (I think I recall you said you've had one before..??) then maybe it's not worth having another??? If the test can be done by your new guys much cheaper, I'm not sure whether going through the surgery is going to help??? I am assuming you are not going back to the old FS now anyway... so..... I guess I'd probably agree with the new FS....

My first US is on Tuesday - but I am not expecting to trigger before next weekend (if I go by the other stim cycles....) I hope so anyway - would like a few more days off work!! AND my SiL is having her b'day party next saturday and I have bought a costume... yes costume, it's mad hatters tea party, and DH is going as the Bad Mad hatter, and I am going as the Queen of Hearts ;) I know.... the costume cost a fortune! But it will be fun - I ordered them online from a plus sized shop and they will be arriving early this week.
In the meantime, I am offically on leave from work for the week (I have taken some time in lieu, as we are supposed to take it during the school holidays), so having had 4 days off last week for being sick, all of this week off for leave, and most likely 2 - 3 days off the week after for EPU and ET, I think I'm doing pretty well.... if does of course, mean that everything at work will be prolonged as well... but... cest la vie..... I am not going to feel guilty - I am going to enjoy it.

n2l - we are in the same boat atm, although i havent even thought to ask how much the hyst/biopsy would be - no idea its $1500+! one of the reasons i thought i would bundle them in together is so that i would be under GA for biopsy part, ive heard it hurts. and im a sook. a big one. guess i dont really need the hsyteroscopy either, ive had one before too & it would just be so new FS could take a peak in there. i guess if they arent doing anything in there, and you've had one already - just a biopsy then? especially considering the price difference. hmm, not sure. i guess having both would give you reassurance that you're starting off with everything in order/clean slate etc for any new protocols you might be trying? its tough balancing the choice, whether the hyst. part is an unecessary procedure... im not being much help, am i?! :o

N2L if it was me I wouldn't do it. I would just follow the lead of your new fs. He sounds like he goes after success and I would be following what he wants. I know we all educate ourselves on the process but I think given you have changed from your other fs because you weren't getting success put your faith in this guy. Just my 2 cents worth :)

Also- I'm looking at my tax invoice- it has 2 columns.
It has 1 charged amount- this is what I have paid.
The second column is 'scheduled fee' is this what I get back from Medicare?
Or is it the gap between the charged amount and the scheduled fee?
