OMG...just flicked onto 'Day of Our Lives"...sorry I have no idea who the characters are...but there's these two girls (looking a tad overdressed) sitting in a Fertility clinic waiting to find out how many follicle they have...if only it was so "GLAM"...why is it when your in the middle of all this all you see are prams, bellies and babies and everyone seems to be talking fert treatment???? BIZARRE!!!
-
Havnt posted much in here because I dont know really. I feel like Ive wasted some of my holiday already being a bit mopey about things, it certaintly an emotional packed time here in this household.
As you can see by my ticker I have made another FS appointment and we are, as much as I think we ever will be, all ready to say, yes we are ready to start AC.
-
Summer - best wishes for ypur next appointment. hope you are feeling happier soon
Ellie - saw the tail end of Days of our Lives. how silly it was. two people in the same room at the same time and so unproffessional how they got their 'results' pretty sure my sheet says at EPU you arent allowed makeup, nailpolish or jewellery. those girls looked very 'immaculate'
Kotare - hope you are de-stressed by now. i think your Synarel fiasco would be enough to frazzle the toughest person.i know how you feel about AF. she was 8 days late for me and arrived on my birthday
Missy - hope the synarel isnt so rough in the future.
to everyone else best wishes. i have my blood test in the morning to see when i have ultrasound and trigger and then EPU how exciting!!!!

Hi Everyone, 10Eggs collected!
Just popping in to let you all know how things went today. Firstly, yay, we didnt get lost! and arrived with heaps of time to spare. Got up at 4.45am , arrived at 7.15am, EPU at 9am out by 12pm. I felt so okay that we even stopped for a stroll around a shopping centre on the way home!!! When I woke up I was initially dissapointed with 10 eggs as I know I had at least 10 folicles on one side and plenty on the other... but nursing staff were so great and had an embryologist come and talk to me and now I feel happy about it. I guess I was expecting more because I had a stronger reaction to the drugs and more follies at scan than previously. Well 10 is more I guess cause in the past I only got 6 or 8 picked up, it's just that we never went to blast before and I know that the numbers will be even lower by then than the 3 day transfers we previously had where only 2 or 3 had survived that long... am I rambling??? I feel I am not making sense. I should be happy and all the nurses said how great 10 is but still I am a little sad. Another surprise for me today was that I was told we are to have 2blasts transferred on saturday! I was surprised by that as I am 33yrs which isnt THAT old for IVF and most girls on here that I have heard of only have one blast at a time???? What do ppl think? DH is excited as he hopes we have twins (not his body i guess!).
I am a little sore now and will probably just lie on the couch till 5pmtomorrow when I go to work..... will catch up here before then..
Sazz
-
Hi Sazz great result, and ive always had two embies put back in the 4th cycle (25 yrs old at the time!) they were both blasties and yes we did get a bfp but it only lasted 5 days. hoping you get all you want xx
woohoo missy on getting you meds
-
Great news Saz...look forward to following your journey from here...roll on Saturday...take it easy...will be thinking of you! Oh..and I think 2 is ok...my clinic does 2 at blast..better odds?
We'll find out tomorrow how our other 8 embies have gone...will be interesting?
-
woo hoo on the egg count sazz - hoping for a high fert rate for you for tomorrow hun - defnintely still keeping an eye on my former "cycle buddy"!
ellie - good luck for tomorrow - here's hoping the other 8 were strong little fighters too!
LOL at the Days reference - some of the stuff they do on soapies is just downright ridiculous - why not be realistic - they might actually get a few more viewers!
to everyone else - a huge hi - really tired tonight - have had a headache i can't seem to shake the last few days - think it's mainly just stress waiting on the "official" results from the u/s - had to go out for dinner tonight for my dad's b'day today and it was jsut too much i think - hubby is in the process of making us a hot chocolate and then i'm off to bed. get my results on thursday arvo - i so hope that this headache doesn't hang around til then!
-
Sazza- Just wanted to drop in and say congrats on a great EPU. Glad to hear that you are feeling good after - wow at going to the shops after!!!
Ohhh, two blasts being transferred - that would give you a pretty good chance at twins!
Boo- There is a thread in the pregnancy section re: HPT levels and what is normal range for each week.
Hope everyone else is doing well in their cycles - sending lots of :bluedust: to everyone!
-
Hi Ladies
Just thought i would pop my head in and say hi!
Sazza - 10 is a great number i had the same and ended up with 3 blasts.. also we are transferring 2 blasts this cycle as well (2nd go) and im 22.
Ellie - Congrats on your numbers too. Good luck today!!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic week and good luck with appointments and just feeling happy (especially you Summer!)
Well still a little sore from the lap (damn gas) and starting our double dose of clomid today and hoping my body wants to play for this FET. My first scan is booked for next Thursday so we will see...
Also DH wants to keep it quiet from everyone.. his sister is due in 3 1/2 weeks so i can understand but i am a very chatty person and i an very close to my family and im not very good at keeping things about myself quiet.. hmm dont think the quiet thing is going to work. oh well
S
-
Hi lovelies!
Thanks everyone for your good wishes! I am just as sore today as yesterday!?!? Will be having lunch with 2friends then taking it easy for the arvo before going to work tonight. Hope I dont have to do to much at work hehe.
Good luck Ellie with the results of your remaining embies!
Kotare, Missy , hope the synarel is treating you ok.
BG, Please take it easy hun, your emotions and poor ole body have been under a huge amount of strain these last months... hope your results come quickly.
Shannon, sorry you are still so sore from that damn lap. hope your body recovers and plays the game soon.
Hi everyone else I have missed, especially if you are cycling at the moment or feeling a little fragile emotionally.... thinking of you all.
Will let you know about fert rate when I hear this arvo.
Hugs, Sazz

Hi Girls
Just got the call....so excited...we have two blasties on ice!!! I've not had snowbies before...YIPPEE! I feel so much more positive about the little ones on board now I know they can make it to blastie...has been an ongoing point of discussion with FS due to zona...I'm so relieved! Hope is an amazing thing!
Saz - hope you're feeling better...lunch with the girls will help!
Shannon - hope the clomid does it's thing! Finger crossed!
BG - not long now...hang in there!
Sonya - How did it go...trigger yet? Look forward to great news!
To everyone else...have a great day and good luck with all the injecting, sniffing...waiting :)
-
YAY Ellie! Awesome news on the snowbubs!
BW
-
excellent news Ellie - woo hoo!!!
-
hi ellie congratulations on your snow bubbies!!!
went for my test and in a few more hours i shall know more
i found myself sitting in the clinic waiting room looking around to somehow see (dunno how!) if any of the many ladies there are BB members. i guess i might see a familiar face or two at the next perth meet-up.
for everyone have a nice stress free day today.
-
sonya,
you might bump into me there one day soon :)
-
Ohhhh- Sush! Are you thinking of TTC again??? How exciting!
-
Clinic called.... 9 fertilised!!! 90% is fantastic rate and embryologist said they should all grow to 3days, it will be friday night/saturday morning which will be the turning point for survival to blast so I will just wait till then to find out. She said 50% should make it so that will mean 4 or 5 which is the highest we have had so far!!! Told my best friend on the phone and we had a little emotional cry about how she feels for me etc. It was really nice! I am now sooo excited again. Bring on Saturday! but first start crinone gel tomorrow. I'v not had it in the past.... what is it really like?
Sazz
-
yay Sazza!! Hope that the next few days go quick!
I think that most people find the crinone okay - however if like me you are prone to thrush, then it isn't fun. I have had awful thrush!!!
Goodluck for Sat!!
-
roll on saturday Sazz - fingers crossed for a nice healthy batch of blasties - and two super sticky embies to be trasferred.
good luck hun!
-
Sazz, I am excited for you, my bestfriend had 10 eggs, lost one at fertilisation and had 8 grow to blasties,(one didn't grow right) one put back and that little egg is now 8 months old and talking his first steps  .............fingers crossed the same happens for you!!!
Sending baby Growing Vibes yourway. .....
Hugs
-
well done Sazz! so so so happy for you!
rang the clinic and apparently my blood results arent fabulous. i have been taking 100IU of puregon for 8 days and my ovaries have barely responded (explains the lack of side effects) so i just had to give myself another 50IU and then tomorrow onwards i am on 150IU. i goback on Saturday for more bloods to see if my ovaries are responding. im a little bit down about it coz it was the same with the Synarel. first AF was a week late and then the start of puregon was delayed by 2 weeks because of both late AF and the slow response to Synarel and now again another delay coz my damn body doesnt want to do what it supposed to. i guess i thought i would react quite strongly because i weigh only 45kg. ( i know disgustingly thin, but cant get fat! it sux!)
oh well i will just soldier on. i going back tomorrow to pick up more Puregon. for now i will focus on my PINK concert on Friday night and worry about Saturday when it arrives.
sorry to waffle on, but i think i needed to get a little frustration off of my chest.
-
sonya, hopefully the increased does will do the trick. I'm seeing Pink too, but in June!
Great news about your fert rate, sazz! Grow embies grow!
Carrie, I still have one lone blast in the freezer, and DH and I are still deciding on when to go get it. No firm decisions yet for an FET, I'm afraid, esp since we're going to Egypt on holiday in July!
-
Sonya Hun - i so know how you feel - this happened to me as well - wish i could help you out somehow or at least be there for a shoulder to cry on - feel free to message me if you want to chat - always happy to listen.
here's hoping the 150IU is more productive in waking those ovaries up!!
-
Sonya, I hear you! First the synarel didn't work, then the trigger shot didn't work... then there was no response to the 150IU of puregon! Although, they followed that with 300IU of puregon and then got too much response! I know it's frustrating, but the fact that they are taking it slower means much less chance of getting OHSS - and trust me, you do NOT want that!
Sush, good luck with convincing DH!
BW
-
just a quick one from me
I hope you are all well
Shannon - can i ask are they putting you on Clomid for a FET? GL
Sazz - ive used crinone gel and perfer it as its only once a day and comes with an applicator which is handy and less messy
Carrie what type of P4 have you used as i also do get a lot of thrush
Sushee - EGYPT wow you do get around.lol Hope it all works out for you when you are TTC again
-
Lol Lou, I haven't been anywhere in 3 years and then suddenly I'm flying overseas 3 times in 8 months!
TBH I'd rather be TTC though!
-
heheheh - use the holiday as a good time to rest, recharge - and convince DH that it's time for another baby Sushee!
-
Hi Girls
Gosh alot happens here in a day!
I have a really silly question...do you have bloods done a week after EPU or a week after transfer to check progesterone...and is BFT then another week after? Mine is set from transfer dates but I'm sure last time it was from EPU? Getting impatient already!!!! Thanks :)
-
oooohhhh girls, forgot to say before - went to the doc today (had tripped over my injured cat and rolled my ankle - another story completely!!!) - anyway, the doc i went to see is husband of the doc who's been investigating the lymph nodes - and he gave me the results so i didn't have to go back tomorrow - is all good!! no abnormalities!! yay!!! first round of good luck - here's hoping it continues!
-
:D Wow Sazz - some excellent and exciting results :crossfingers:
And Ellie too -
Sonya - yeh, it's hard when you have a plan, and then the damn body doesn't do what it's supposed to. I said a week or so ago - it's not like a headache pill or throat lozenge - you know if they are working on a daily basis and you can change the dose immediately or change to a different drug. Not with these drugs - we have to wait for weeks not knowing and then when you find out it's not working it's very frustrating!
BG - great news about the lymph glands - hope the ankle is OK though :D
-
Hi Ladies
Loula - Yep i have been on the clomid for over 12 months now my FS has me on it every cycle otherwise i could go 8 months without AF visiting. But yep she had me on clomid for the first FET cycle but the body didn't respond, but i went straight away the next month after IVF, anyways so now she has doubled the dose to 2 tablets a day and we see... Hope that helps, i am hoping with the Clomid my body will make its own hormones and i wont have to rely so heavily on synthetic ones.
Congrats on the great fertilsation rated and EPU and good luck to everyone in the 2WW.

Shannon, sounds like your FS is doing what mine does... except he's using letrozole/femara instead of clomid. With the anxiety problems I had on clomid, I'd be very, very reluctant to ever try it again.
Speaking of anxiety... starting to feel it bubbling up in me today. CD10, and I know I should probably start using OPKs soon to try to confirm ovulation, but I'm wondering if that's going to cause even more stress on top of the charting... but then not doing anything at all to monitor ovulation is going to completely do my head in as well! Gah! Help me be less anxious! :wall:

Speaking of Progestone levels, do most Dr really monitor the Progestone levels after they do a egg transfer??
I know this was my issue last time, my Progestone level was way to low and so a pregancy couldn't take hold...........This was 8 years ago and I know that heaps happens different now. BUT will the Dr give me Progestone support or will I have to really point that out??
Hugs
-
Hi Ickimum - I have not had any problems with progesterone (never been pg) but my drugs for the IVF treatment include Progestone pessaries as standard. I did ask the nurse about it at the time, and she said that because they put so many drugs in before the ET, that it makes sense to put some more in afterwards, just to make sure. She said it can only help. So maybe it will come as standard for you too, but it can't hurt to ask for it too.
BW - i can't help you feel less anxious - i just hope it all works perfectly for you in the end.
I get to start jabbing myself (yay!) on Saturday. 112.5 of Gonal F. I am relieved to finally be at this point.
Can anyone tell me if they were on Gonal F and does 112.5 seem like a low dose?
-
Hi Ickimum
My progesterone levels are an issue when I get pregnant...they didn't check levels at EPU but will check them Saturday which is a week after EPU...then if I need more support they can give me more pessaries etc...I always ask them about the prog levels in case they forget what happened last time...can't presume anything! Good Luck!
-
Hi Ladies not much from me today............just checking in to see how you all are.
I was up at 3am vomiting, i cant work out weather its something ive caught from work or my higher dose of metformin??? DH said i looked very green this morning .yay not
Still i feel so crap so i think its from work!, cant eat and find it hard to drink. oh but the joy was i was on an early shift so i did have to go to work to open and wait for agency to relieve me, its ok i did take a bucket!!came in use three times on way there and only once on the way home
Had a dentist app today which i had to cancil which i hate as i like having a clean and check up b4 a tf, as im hoping not to go again fot the first 12 weeks of pg.
feeling very blllllllllllllllluuuuuurrrrrrr, back killing now from all that laying down
Also hate having sick days from work as i try to save them all fot IVF
-
Hi Lou
Hope you feel better...have a nice relaxing day...once you stop throwing up?!
-
Lou - hope you're feeling beter hun! it's no good feeling that crook!
Jo - yay on starting the jabs on the weekend. i'm not sure about the dosage there - i know they tend to start on low doses of meds and see how you respond. as i'm sure BW will atest, you don't want to get OHSS!
BW hun - i wish there was a way that i could help you out hun - the anxiety thing is a PITA - i wish there was a miracle cure! just remember, you are a much stronger person than you give yourself credit for and you CAN do this. no one can decide fo you about the OPK's - just work out whether knowing or not knowing about O is going to set you mind at ease more. bug hugs for you
Shannon - good luck with the clomid kick starting things for you - hopefully you're one of the lucky ones that responds properly to it
as for me - nothing much happening on the TTC front - still waiting to see FS - only one more week to go (OMG - can't believe it's 8 days since last cycle was cancelled - it's flying!) - am feeling really positive about life in general today - have a sore ankle still and was hanging out to get home but that was just so i could put my foot up. other than that, i'm really in a good mood for the first time in ages. i think i turned a page yesterday in getting the good result from the doctor - i guess i was expecting something to go wrong as has inevitably been happening for me lately, and when i didn't, it just put me int he best frame of mind - i got abused a couple of times today at work, and yet i still walked out of work smiling! woo hoo - here's hoping this is the start of a run of bigger and better things for me! (and all of you - i'll happily share the positive vibes around!)
-
Sush- Ooh, have fun on your trip! Then hopefully when you get back you can collect your little snowbub!
Lou- Hi there, I was using crinone gel. What are you on? – hopefully you escape any yucky thrush side effects!
Ellie- Usually the BT is 2 weeks from transfer, they only check progesterone level if they feel that you may have issues with it (that’s at MIVF anyway)
BG- That’s great that the test results on the lymph nodes were good – Yay!
Kotare- Good luck with the cycle hun! I was on gonalF and they started me on that dose (in my last cycle) and then upped it cos I wasn’t responding. This time they started at 187.5. If it is your first cycle they will start low as they don’t know how your body will react and don’t want to hyper stim. Hope it goes well!
-
BW - Glad that you aren't having any emotional side effects from the Letrozole.
Summer - I will have to go and read your journal.
Ellie - Hope your TWW fly's by with positive results at the end :)
Lou- I can't believe the clinic lost your file again! I'd be getting a photocopy of it all and taking it in myself next time LOL! Hope you are feeling better today too.
Shannon - That's great that AF is treating you better after your Lap.
ickimum - Welcome :) Hope your stay in here is a short one.
Sonya - Have a fantastic time at the PINK concert tonight :)
Well, onto me now. I've got an appointment for the FS and the u/s lined up. I have to go back for another blood test as it showed an elevated red cell count? We googled it and probably shouldn't have...google was not my friend that night LOL! Anwyay, we are hoping it was due to me not having anything to eat or drink before the test. I just got out of bed and went straight to the centre for the B/T.
DH asked me to book in to see the GP about it,just for a chat, but I can't see her until may 3rd. My poor DH, he is worried himself, and then he is worried about me being worried. Anyway, LOTS of water before the next blood test LOL!
