Saph: like paula said is there any chance of the BFP ?
Well i just got my results too and as i suspected estrogen is way to high (3000) on my 6th day of stims, so i have to reduce the amount to 125 and go for bloods and scan tomorrow. WHy do we not listen to our bodies?????? they really do tell us everything we need to know. Anyway im about to float away from all the water and gatorade ive been drinkin, catch u soon girls!
-
Saph darling what did the results say? If you are mid luteal phase surely the results are not definitive yet. Sweetheart I hope all is well for you.
Scooby you are so right - last time I was so bloated and felt horible and of course it all went pear shaped, I have a friend who says most of the worlds problems would be solved if we talked to each other and listened to ourselves!
Marsha - How you feeling sweetheart?
Hugs to all - my DP is making me steak and chips!
What a Guy!

Hi sorry i didn't explain myself very well. I was on the phone trying to read write listen and talk at the same time I know i am a women but geez even we have our limits.
Yes I could still get that BFP but from the bedroom action I still think it is unlikely. I have a feeling that all the cramping over the weekend was ovulation and i can garrantee if that is the case it will not end possitively. But at least I know we are heading in the right direction.
Well thanksfor the +ves it has really helped I can say I am in a much better place this time.

Congratulations PLC, fantastic news :)
Quick question, how much exercise to do you guys do in the 2ww after ET? My clinic has a no-gym policy, only walking and swimming and up until now I have abided by that, but I have just started boot camp! I plan on going right up until transfer, but afterwards I'd still like to go along and maybe do an altered routine, ie not running for 30 minutes straight! :P Any ideas?
-
My clinic has a no heat and nothing that raises the body temp rule for the TWW hope this helps bec. So glad to have you back hun

Hi Everyone
Well I am back after another dissapointing cycle. I wanted to ask if anyone knows of the most highly recommended fertility clinic in Perth. Its not that I am not happy at my current clinic but I am obvioulsy not getting the results we are all after. My DH and I have done every single test under the sun and thank god they have all come back normal but that still doesn't answer why we are not getting our long awaited BFP. I have done 5 Stim cycles and it seems that our embies drop off dramatically from DAY 3. My FS suggested Donor sperm last night. I am in a little shock as how can they recommend that if they can't find the issue? But they say due to my age it would be sperm problems. I just dont know what to do. Below are my cycle results any help suggestions etc would be great
ICSI #1 100 Puregon 3 embies no transfer
IVF # 1 100 Puregon 6 embies 1 X Day 6 blast transfer BFN
IVF #2 150 Puregon 14 embies 2 x Day 3 embies transferred BFN
ICSI #2 150 Puregon 14 embies 1 x Day 5 Blast transferred and 1 Blast Frozen BFN
ICSI #3 150 Puregon 13 embies 1 x Day 5 Blast and 1 x Frozen Blast Transferred BFN
-
Nat - I am in Brissy but know there are some wonderful WA ladies how can give recommendations. Sorry to hear you have not got a BFP yet.
Lots of good will and hugs to you

-
Nat - don't know any in perth have you tried accupunture and had some zinc tests etc? we are on our 5th ICSI cycle. we just get low egg #
-
Hey Nat
Im not sure if I have the answers but my DH and I had issues with his sperm. In the end he had 2 sperm retreival operations. First one they didnt get enough to freeze but the second op they did. Do you think this would be an option for you and DH.???
-
Hi Girls
I have tried accupunture once but I didnt enjoy it but I didn't give it a chance, I may look into this. I am currently on some natural medication which is Omega 3, Intrefem and HGC which contains vitex, calcium and some other stuff. I am desperate and will try anything. I know people say you shouldnt take anything during IVF/ICSI cycles but I am desperate and am willing to try anything.
With DH sperm they haven't found any real evidence that there is anything wrong with it but they say due to my age and embryo's dropping off they are putting this down to DH sperm. We tried IVF but didn't have the fertilisation rates so we tried ICSI with better results but still no excellent. FS is thinking of doing Assisted hatching.
CarlaMP - I have thought about asking FS if they could retrieve DH sperm another way to see if this will make a difference even though they cant find the evidence that his sperm are the problem. They retreive it from the testicles is that right? Would this sperm be un harmed or healthier sperm?

Hi All,
My previous 2 cycle were at puregon 150 and 175 units. I got only 8 eggs on both the cycles. In my second cycle there were 4 good embies, one was tranfered at 3 rd day but not successful. I asked to do blastocyct culture on frozen embies, one didn?t survive on thawing process, one didn?t reach 5th day. I realy hoped that third one will make it, as I thought it was reached to blastocyst but only low number of cells in inner cell mass. My clinic told that If they transfer this one I will definitly misscarry because it will grow like embty sac :wall:. So noting on 2nd cycle.
I started my 3rd stimulation (Puregon, 225units) on last Tuesday( on my day2). We are expecting more eggs this time and doing blastocyst on fresh embies. I did BT today, my e2 levels are 1939. I need to continue the stim for next 2 days and going for scan on sat morning. I feel bloated and my breasts are bit sore. Working from home for next 2 days. Funny thing is I cannot wear my pants :p, it is very uncomfortable, it is just some funny feeling in my abdomen may be around my overies and it is not painful though. Is my e2 level ok on day 9
-
Good Luck White Lotus I am on stims of 350 this cycle
-
Hi Nat
I would think that the sperm would be alot healthier as it doesnt have to fend for itself along the way to get to eggie!! Yes they open up the testicle and I know this sounds painful for them, but they srape and suck it out.....then they monitor them so see the surviving ones and then fertilise. We were told after my DH's first operation when they didnt get any sperm that we would be looking at a donor aswell. Very scary and invading kind of possibility but we were prepared for that and picked our donor and hoped for the best. In the end our specialist got a nice load {sorry.....thats a bit rude!} from my DH and it was able to be used so we no longer needed to think about the donor situation. if I were you, i would be demanding answers. They cant expect you to agree to a donor when they cant tell you what is wrong. I dont think thats right nor do I think thats fair...
I also was on IBS SUpport, Inner health Plus, Omega 3 Fish Oil tablets, Elevit, folic acid and 1 berrocca a day while I was on IVF....there was only one real problem with all that....I RATTLED WHEN I WALKED.....my FS said it was fine. But check with your Dr if you start taking anything for sure.
-
white lotus - i wish you all the very best for this cycle
CarlaMP - I am angry that they are quick to say donor when I dont really feel we have given it a chance. We havent changed my drugs or looked at the possiblity of retrieving sperm in a different way. I have made an appointment with the Embryologist today so I will see what they say. So do you think that if we retrieve sperm from his testis that this would be alot healither and may even give us stronger embies?
I know what you mean about all those tablets. I feel like all i do is pop pills:)
-
congrats PLC.
white lotus- cant wear ur pants??? so like me, ive to turn to DH pants instead. I onli started to bloat after ET so cant comment on ur e2 level.
Im still bloated, gonna go shopping for pants cos i jus cant fit into mine anymore.
-
Thanks Marsha,Nat & tiggerLinda.
I was reading some where that If we take high protien&fat diet while on simulation there are chanches we can get good quality eggs. I am eatinglots of nuts, couple of hardboied eggs, milk and legumes(as a meat substitute, since I don't like to eat meat every day) every day. Lets see how it goes. I am also taking elevit and omega3 fish oil.
-
Thanks for those tips White Lotus I might give it a go
-
Nat Im not sure. I just know that that was our only option as DH's swimmers werent strong enough any other way. It is def a question to be asked though. They must thik that we want a baby so bad that ..'here pick a donor and you'll be right'...sometimes I think they think we are just a number! Ask all the questions you can think of....we did.
-
hey girls
woah its been busy in here.
Hi to everyone and loads of sticky vibes!!!!!
BecD: most places say its ok to keep going with stuff you have been doing for awile, i would think bootcamp might just be abit too much. The reason i say this is i worked out as normal which is quite a heavy routine while doing IUI got my BFP and it was ectopic and i cant help thinking to myself that it was because i kept working out. There is also a study that was done that showed people who work out before and during IVF have less success (do a google scholar search to find the study) At the end of the day i dont think it has too much of an effect but like the nurses told me you dont want any what if's! if that makes sense. I know its hard as i love the gym too, but i had to make the decision was it worth it. GOod luck with what ever you decide.
Nat: hi and welcome back, hope its a short stay, you must be sooo frustrated with all that. I am at Fertility North in joondalup they are saying that there success rates for IVF (58%) and ICSi are the highest in Perth. I really llove most of the nurses at fetility north and have been happy enough there have been a few issues but nothing major i guess. Sometimes just a change of view can be all thats needed. But one of the nurses said that the embrologist is what makes a good clinic and defines the success rates and that kinda makes sense to me.
White lotus: welcome! i reckon your levels sound good my day 6 E2 was 3000 and that was way too high, so i reckon 1900 would be about right. Good luck and i hope this is the one.
Hi to all you other wonderful ladies. i will catch up soon!
-
Thanks CarlaMP you are right thought I do feel like just a number. I feel they just want to give us a baby any way they can
-
hi Nat - i have been at concept based in king edward since jan last year. i do not have a single bad thing to say about them. my fs is dr mazzucchelli and he is fantastic (as long as you dont carry too much weight)
i have also heard that Pivet , although expensive, is quite good.
ME - had another bt today and start my 150 puregon tomorrow and another bt next thrusday 8 may fingers crossed!
-
Hi nat
I am at hollywood and have found them fantastic. I am doing OI not IVF but have found them great My FS is Dr Perkins and he is great and delivered my DS. Good luck with it all.
-
Hi sonya1 = I looked into another clinic today but i am in too minds as i really do love my doctor and i think to myself they have all my history. I think i jus have to keep going and pray that I get that BFP. How exciting you get to start your drugs, Good Luck
Hi Saph204 - I am also with Dr Perkins and i find him to be the most caring and beautiful doctor, i feel very comfortable with him. I just found it a little hard when he started suggesting donor sperm with out any reason. But I they have all reviewed our case and we have come back from a meeting with the embryologist and they are going to retrieve sperm from DH testicles and I am also going to be put on some different drugs, so I am very excited. I always said if I feel pregnant that I would love for Dr Perkins to deliver it but he no longer does it, its a shame. I like going in to hospital knowing he is there as I know he is looking after me. He always waits with me and holds my shoulder while i get sedated, i think thats cute
-
Sonya: Good Luck hunny you are not far behind me
White Lotus thanks for the tip off to get nuts now!
-
Sonya: good luck:goodluck2:. you are just 1 week behind me. I am on puregon 225 and am in day 10. Another bt and scan on coming sat. my fingers crossed for you :crossfingers:
P.S. I am a new user for this forum. After reading this thread found that you guys are amazing I am realy happy that I have so many of you to share. It is realy helping me a lot since I don't share this to my friends. I don't know how I missed it so long. Thank you ladies.
-
Sorry very quick question to girls doing IVF with puregon. Do you start to get EWM (egg white mucous) when getting close to trigger i am day 8 and have quite abit already (sorry TMI) just abit concerned im ovulating and missing out. Also with the puregon do you find you have much left in the vial when youve taken the specified dose. By my calculations i had a 900iu vial and should only have had 75iu left but was able to do 150iu out of it with some left, do you think ive missed a jab? (eg thought i was injecting and it wasnt working) sorry to be a worry wart (blame the high estrogen levels:lol:), but dont want to stuff this up.
Hi everyone and hope your havin a great day!!!!
-
Scooby - Thats a yes sweet and a good sign! The vials often have extra but I would check with the clinic sweet. You may have had encough. Wishing you all the best
-
Scooby: I am also getting white mucous from day 7/8. I think it is quite normal. I didn't miss the ovulation cos I had BT yesrerday to findout my e2 levels. I think yours is similar to mine. just hang in there, you are doing good.
And with the puregon, If you are taking 150 units, you can do only 6 injects from it. If you can see the black colored mark, don't inject from it if you see the dosage levels comes to this point.
-
scooby-past xperience, it might look alot, if u doing e check e reading pull e trigger, it shld be alrite. Its e wat IFs, making us worry.
white lotus- some pple jus dont understand wat we're going thr. They have to be in ur shoes to really understand. My ICSI, is jus between me, DH n the medical personnel, nobody else know abt it.
The ladies here do lift up my spirit. :grouphug:
-
Scooby, I was also using puregon and had the same concerns after noticing some left in the cartridge. Clinic did say it was normal to have some left in cartridge at the end. You will still be getting the correct doses. EWCM is also normal. I asked this question at yesterdays blood test and nurse told me that it means there is a rise in the hormone levels and nothing to worry about.

Nat
Oh my god you have just rocked my world was planning to have Dr perkins deliver this next baby as well. I have what you could say is a close connection with him and his family and it was wonderful having him deliver my son. It was a tramatic birth and he took all the worry away. Oh my god i feel sick now. I really dont know how to take this news.
I have known him a long time and would trust him with my life. Which I did and more importantly I trusated him with the life of my son.
How do you find Hollywood? I love it my only problem is for me living up near Joondalup having to go into the clinic in the morning becomes a three hour round trip. My son does not like this and screams the whole way. I leave it wondering why the hell am I doing this who would want two screaming kids.
-
Saph204 - I am so sorry!! I know exactly what you mean by you trust your life with him. I had always said if I fall I would love to have him to deliever the baby but he doesnt. Maybe you could talk around since you know his family :) I do like Hollywood but I think thats only because of Dr Perkins. I find the nurses to be hot and cold. Sometimes they make me feel like a number and I should just go in there and have my bloods and don't ask questions. So I dont really ask them much I either ring Dr Perkins or I log onto this website.
It would be a pain for you to travel from Joondalup to Hollywood. Why don't you have your bloods done at your local Pathology? I do this sometimes when I am not driving into work the day off my bloods.
-
WOW, theres so much happening in here, how can so much happen so quickly?
well i did my first injection today 225 iui's gonal f pen and it hurt, i had hot flush today and it was cold day, i've been feeling tired but only had 6 hrs sleep last night so that may be cause.

Pcl1805: we will miss you hope all goes well and this one sticks!!
Delly doo: yes this is real, it feels a bit surreal at times though. hope your epu goes well on fri, count down to tranfer.

Well Good evening,
I have started spotting this evening so I am sure AF will arrive tomorrow and It will start all over again. Dam it. Will be doing a full cycle this time all the bloods and scans and the dreaded three hour trips. They are starting me on a higher does this time so hopefully it will only be the normal 10-14 days to trigger not 25 like last time. Best of luck to everyone who is having epu in the next few days. You really are an inspiration to all here. Off to watch the biggest loser final.
