Thank you for referring me to this thread Myturn.

Definitely CD1 for me today! This was my first IUI cycle, so feeling a little down....giving myself some time to feel sucky about it then going to give myself a good talking to in order to get my head right for next time around.

Wow reading these comments makes me feel pretty lucky, all of our tests came back normal for our ages! I'm 38 (nearly 39 -gasp!) and DH is 35.

I have previously done 3 cycles of Clomid with no luck, took a break over December & Jan so we could relax and I could focus on my health losing some weight etc. Then started again on Clomid 50mg in March, bt day 11 gave my hormone levels (?) 3000 so FS called me up for a scan as she was worried I might have too many follicles or be heading towards Hyperovarian Stimulation (?) - Sorry I'm still getting used to the terms- she said 2 nice big follicles at about 18mm so had a Pregnyl injection and the iui the following day - CD12. DH sperm was all good, can't remember the numbers exactly but it was well above what was needed. So disappointed that even though we had all the ingredients we didn't bake a cake this time around (DH used to be a Baker)!

I'm kind of not surprised, our relationship was a bit rocky, both tired and emotional, niggling at each other - still working on how to communicate better and what each other needs in terms of communication.

Definitely going to try again this cycle, then maybe IVF in June...might seem quick, but at my age I don't want to muck around and FS agrees!

Any advice on how to keep my head level is much appreciated!

Oops! Sorry, I didn't realise I had forgotten to post the list yesterday! That's what happens when you get no sleep (literally - worked 9pm-8am on Thursday night to meet a Friday deadline and then DD got up at 8.30am, so no sleep for me)...

Hi and welcome Bec and Awesty. Sounds like you're both at a similar stage in your journeys (even though they have been different before now). Let me know if you'd like to be added to The List. I just need to know where you are in your cycle...

Afm, goodness, I'm completely exhausted! After no sleep Thursday night, I didn't get to bed until 10.30pm last night and then had to get up at 5am to go to the clinic for monitoring. To make it even worse, DD woke screaming at 3.30am and I lost almost an hour of sleep then as well... I'm meant to go to a Tupperware party in 1.5 hours and I really just want to go back to bed. But I have missed a few other events hosted by this friend so I really need to go...

Anyway, to the main event: monitoring this morning showed 2x 24mm + 1x 13mm follicles, so I could O at any time. I'm so glad I called and asked to move my monitoring forward (was meant to be Monday)!! Had b/w this morning and have to go back tomorrow as well. If no natural LH surge detected either day, trigger tomorrow night and IUI Tuesday morning. If I surge before then I'll get a phone call to discuss Plan B. In the meantime, I was told to increase my dose of FSH to try to get the 13mm follicle up to speed.

Thanks for the welcome ladies! Rai, I remember you! I'd love to added to the list, I'm 6DPO at the moment, twwing for AF so I can start a new round of OI. Has anyone else done OI with puregon? Or just IUI? Just wondering what doses you've been on? Last cycle I was on 140 (ish) and had 8 follies, so I'm back to 125 iu, which wasn't enough last time! AH, the joys...

Sounds like a lot of new cycles starting, FX for heaps of BFPs

Thanks Rai. I survived, but I was very aware on the drive home that I probably shouldn't have been driving... Couldn't hold back a few yawns during the demonstration, so hope she didn't think I was being rude... Lol, and didn't buy anything either (and knew I wouldn't because I bought stuff at our mutual friend's party last month, which was when she booked today's party). Probably should have made my apologies and stayed home, but felt bad after missing the other events.

Bec, I'm doing injects with IUI for now. We're still waiting on DH's test results, but if they're good we'll drop the IUIs and switch to TI with the injects. I'm on puregon this cycle, but was on gonal-f last cycle. My Dr doesn't specify a particular one so the nurse just picks whichever seems best at the time. I'm dealing with DOR (diminished ovarian reserve) and respond poorly to meds, so I've been on 250iu this cycle and have been told to increase to 300iu today and tomorrow to try to grow that third (small) follicle before I O. I was 200iu last cycle and had 3 mature follicles plus a small one at this stage, but a bit smaller than today's.

bec i'm doing OI with puregon injectables i'm on 50iu and so far getting around 3-4 follies I seem to respond well and my fs wont put my dosage up incase I get too
many follies and have to cancel I respond really well to clomid as well it just seems to be the falling pg part I have problems with.

juniper so pleased you survived the Tupperware party without falling asleep and so pleased you made it home safely, hopefully you can get an early night fx

afm: I'm not happy with getting triggered on day 7 even though my follies are the right size it just seems way too early to me so my acupuncturist has given me
some herbs to hopefully get me triggered around cycle day 10-11 so fx

    Great news, Faye!

Rai, yeah, I'd feel a little edgy about CD7 for trigger too..

So, just had a 4.5 hour nap. Would have liked to sleep through, but I've got a clexane shot to do at 9pm and other meds to take for the cycle too. Still feel exhausted, so hopefully will still get to sleep at a decent hour.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the welcome, I'd love to be on the list Juniper, I'm on Cd2!

Starting Clomid 50mg again today and am expecting to be told to do BT on day 10 or 11, fingers crossed for a good result this month!

Where are you all based? What success have you had with natural therapies as fertility support?

    Love Andrea

Awesty, I've had success with acupuncture in the past. I started after our 3rd BFN IVF and got a natural BFP in our second cycle of acupuncture. We also got a natural BFP with acupuncture when we started TTC#2. Unfortunately, both were m/c. I was also doing acupuncture during our successful IVF. I've done acupuncture in every cycle that gave us a BFP and never gotten a BFP without it... I haven't been since October, but I stopped in yesterday and made an appt for next weekend.

Thanks juniper76, I was just looking up acupuncturists in the services section, I hope you don't mind if I ask a couple questions, your experience with it sounds pretty positive?

How many times in a cycle did you go? Did you go to someone who specialised in fertility/conception? What area are you in? (in case you are near me I'll be asking you for their name)

    A xx

I go once per week most of the time. Occasionally we'll do an extra treatment at O time if my O is mid-week and we do extra treatments just before and after transfer if we're doing an IVF or FET cycle. You definitely want to see someone who specialises in fertility because someone who doesn't know what they're doing can cause more harm than good.

Are you in Brisbane? The acu I see is at Ashgrove. I can PM her name to you if you want. I've met people on the forums who drive all the way from Ipswich to see her...
