Kel, I think it also depends how much belly fat you have as to how difficult and painful it is. I had one in December for an egg retrieval. I am a fat chick and I mostly carry my weight on my stomach. When I woke up the FS said it had been very difficult (he also had to do a lot of shoving and moving things around because I have an enlarged uterus that my ovaries like to hide behind). Anyway, Panadeine forte was my best friend and I was definitely bed/couch bound for 36 hours.

    Hi everyone,

    Hope you are all well...

Curtsy- I'm so sorry for what you are going through, your DH sounds amazing though and please feel free to contact me if you want to talk at all...

Congrats to all the BFP's!!! So excited for you all!!!!
Fingers crossed for all going through cycles right now- I hope you get your miracle soon too!!!

AFM- today is cd1... AF came on her own again (still strange seeing as before I started the oi's it could be at least 6 months before she came, if she came at all) and I kinda knew she was coming... I have had really bad cramps the last weekish so I was expecting the visit... Still no sign of us being able to afford the ICSI so I'm just pushing through one day at a time...

Hi Jo. I had been wondering how you were doing. Sorry to hear you're still stuck in limbo waiting to afford the ICSI.

    Hi ladies

Just wondering if any of you have used any other form of progesterone other than crinone & pesseries/suppositories? If so how was it?

Beau, in terms of progesterone, I've only used crinone or pessaries. The only alternatives I know are oral (inefficient and prone to more s/e) or injections (very, very expensive, from memory, and painful). An alternative form of luteal support is hcg booster shots - the hcg encourages your body to produce its own progesterone, thus reducing (or eliminating) the need for progesterone supplementation.

    Thanks Juniper

I've had the hcg shots the last 2 natural cycles I've done but sounds like I have to have progesterone for hrt

Hello ladies, I hope everyone is having a nice and relaxing day.

    Just an update.

Tuesday DH and I went to see our Fs. She is so lovely. So happy I picked her! She wants me to have a laparoscopy/histoscopy and d&c to check for endometriosis. Hubby and I also had blood tests (not sure what it was checking for, was so overwhelmed with everything!), we also spoke to the public liaison administrator and got our information pack aswell as book in for our counselling appt which will be in June. But we see the Fs mid may - yay! Where we will get our results from BT and hubby's semen analysis aswell as to discuss weather to wait for surgery, do a cycle or do nothing.

I have to go through the public hospital as I cannot afford to have surgery in a private hospital. We have decided iui so if all comes back good with hubby's test I will want to go for a cycle ASAP.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just a little excited lol.

    Hi girls

I know I dont spend a lot of time on here or interect with you but im not sure who else I can ask or talk to about this......
I need to know if there is something I can take to help with my stress, to calm me down because I am really stressed out at the moment, I am having a hard time with a girl at my work and I feel sick about having to go to work everyday and it is getting me upset and worked up and I spend hours at night just laying in bed stressing and upsetting myself about having to go to work the next day and I need to do something or take something to calm me down or my FET next Thursday is going to be a waste of time
I am estranged from my mother but my god its times like this I wish I wasnt (well more so that I had a normal nice mum instead of the one I have) so I could have someone to talk everything through with.
My husband is great but sometimes he just inst enough.

Is there anything over the counter I can take to help with my stress that wont interfer with my cyle?

    Thanks

Ceejelz so sorry you are having a tough time at work! All the extra pressure ttc doesn't help us manage the normal everyday things that's for sure. I have been to a naturopath who has given me some herbs supposed to help with strss as well, and maybe you could try rescue remedy which is a floral thing available over the counter. But I think more importantly you need to chat with someone! Maybe go to your GP and get a referral for a psych. It's the best thing I ever did and had helped so much with everything. Do you have someone at work with whom you could talk to? The work stuff really needs to be dealt with cause you can't keep doing this - with or without the baby stuff!
Look after yourself lovely and just take each day one at a time. You are brave and strong to have got his far already

Hi ladies I really need some advice, my fs triggered me this morning at 8.15am which means I will O Tuesday night about 8.15pm. I have to choice to do iui either
today and tomorrow or tomorrow and Wednesday. Please please could someone let me know what they think the best days would be please.

Ceejelz, sorry to hear you're having such a hard time. I agree with myturn that you should have a chat with your GP. You could also try acupuncture or massage to try to ease some tension, but you're not going to find a miracle quick fix.

Rai, you want an IUI as close to O time as possible, so the end of tomorrow would be the best time. Can they do one in the afternoon? If they only do morning I'd be asking why I was triggered at that time to make the IUI so poorly timed? I trigger for my IUIs at 6pm and have the IUI 38 hours later (when O is due). Washed sperm are thought to survive only 12 hours and eggs survive a similar time, so if you O too long before or after IUI then the IUI is a waste of time... I'd be making sure to BD on Tuesday night, no matter which IUI option you choose! I'd choose the Tues/Wed options, but I'd be upset about the timing.

Hi Ceejelz, I would totally recommend you try and see a naturopath. I always feel so much better after seeing mine and the things she prescribes me make me feel good too. There is a tablet called PPMP but it is something you can only get from a naturopath. All natural so that it won't affect your cycle. I hope you are feeling better soon and good luck with your FET.

Hi Ceejelz - longer term I have been trying meditation to try to quiet my mind for a little bit each day. I am not great at it, but it does help.
I hope the work situation is sorted soon cos its just not nice to feel that way.
