Dammit! More bleeding/spotting this afternoon... :wall:
Juniper - bugger I hope the bleeding stops soon and your O is as per your normal
Joski - hope you have got some good results from your bt :)
Afm - its with a very heavy heart I have to let you know our little embie did not survive the thaw :( absolutely gutted. My body has done so well this cycle responding beautifully to all the meds, liming was perfect. Acupunturist said everything is just beautiful today ready for a little embie. Anyway we did still bd of the right days and we had 2 good follies largest was 23mm. Im not holding out too much hope.
Im going to start working on improving my egg quality would really appreciate advice on this
Love & light to you all, wishing everyone a wonderful weekend x
I'm so sorry again Positively, I'm gutted for you too, you were so ready for your transfer. I'm sorry your little embie didn't survive the thaw :(. In terms of egg quality, the only thing I can suggest is the COQ10 tablets, I've been on these for a while now, I'm hoping it's helping my eggs. Take care lovely, I'm hoping DTD has done its trick, FX xxx
So sorry to hear PGTC... Hugs x
Oh no! FX for a happy surprise in spite of the cancelled transfer. :goodluck:
Oh positively I am so sorry your transfer has been cancelled because your embie didn't survive the thaw:( As Miss B said, I know you were so ready and excited - so I am just devastated for you...
I am sure I posted last night, but then I thought your post was slightly different as well? So maybe you updated your post - but my post has disappeared entirely? (either I'm losing my mind or it just didn't upload... So please know I did pop in to say good luck and I saw your message and responded accordingly, but it must not have uploaded:( ) I just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you and am here if you need anything.
I have everything doubly crossed for you that you get your natural miracle! Your still in the 2ww! You BD'ed at just the right time so your def in with a shot at getting your happy ending. Stranger things have happened!
Joski - fingers crossed the o is happening as we speak! You have the perfect excuse for a weekend spent in bed:) Great timing that it is the weekend, so you can BD as much as you want! I'm sure your DH will be thrilled! :)
Juniper - yay for OPk's! That's fantastic that your sister conceived her baby naturally on a cycle with late O! And she has a beautiful little newborn:) I love hearing happy stories like hers. I don't know if this is relevant to you at all - but I just thought I would mention it because you said something in your previous post that I can relate very closely too! I also experienced horrifically heavy periods almost from the day I started menstruating. Unused to have to miss school for the first few days of my cycle because I was either in excruciating pain, or I would faint from the heaviness of my cycle.
About a year ago my gynae (who is also my FS and was my OB until he retired in June 2012) suggested we do some exploratory tests to see if we could get to the bottom of what was causing my AF to be heavy, very painful, long in duration and with lots of clots (sorry for the TMI but I would be interested in whether you experience the same symptoms..?) at that time I have developed a new symptom - which was mid cycle bleeding). My AF would finish and then a few days later I would start spotting again. Sometimes it would just be spotting and other times it would be like I had my AF again. At first it didn't worry me but when we decided we definitely wanted to try for our final baby, we thought it might be time to investigate and find out what was going on...
I went to see my gynae/ FS and explained all the symptoms I was suffering (he put me on Endone for the pain - which is pretty heavy and I knew wasn't sustainable eg I didn't want to be taking it every month!) and sent me off for a vaginal ultrasound (I had to wait as the best time to have this kind of scan/ test is 1 or 2 dues pre ovulation). Anyway, I had been OPKing having BT's to track and the numbers leading in to ovulation were really good....
Went for the ultrasound and I was shocked when the lady doing it said I had 3 really good sized follicles on my right ovary (none on my left which is pretty standard post surgery) but that I was not going to ovulate that cycle? So it was an anovulatory cycle. She also found Andomyosis (which is basically endo but inside your uterus). She gave me the scans and I waited for the report and she sprang my gynae/ FS and asked him to fit me in again that afternoon.
When I saw him, he explained what Andomyosis is (turns out this is what he was testing for all along, but he didn't want to mention it to me unless the scan showed that I had it, which it did). I had never heard of it - but I now know that it is basically endo - but inside your uterus). As for the anovulatory cycle... I hammered him with questions as I didn't understand how I could have several good sized follicles and that my bloods were saying I was going to ovulate - but I apparently wasn't. Anyway we kept ov tracking and basically the levels kept rising and I had the normal symptoms ewcm etc except they were sure nothing was going to be released... It turned out that although the levels were rising - they never actually 'peaked' so essentially they rose, but not enough to trigger the release of eggs from the follicles... He did explain it, numerous times but I still couldn't and don't really understand it...
Anyway - he booked me in for a D&C (which I really didn't want to have because I am paranoid that they weaken your cervix and can make it hard to carry a viable pg to term and I'd already had 2 - 5 years ago after several miscarriages...) which I had at my fertility clinic (didn't like that bit much either) and when I woke up he came to see me in recovery and explained that I did have Andomyosis:( I was pretty devastated as we knew we wanted a final baby and he had already explained that the only long-term cure for Andomyosis and the pain and heavy bleeding it causes - is a hysterectomy.
Why am I even raising this? Sorry for the stupidly long post about something none of us want to think about... I guess because I had never heard of Andomyosis (endo yes and I had had my last lot of endo removed after DS 4.5 was born) and I didn't realize that having it could prevent a future pg from implanting properly. So when I described my symptoms to him, it was the mid cycle bleeding and the heaviness and associated pain that made him think I might have Andomyosis.
I had the D&C about 3 months ago and he said after scraping all the Ando out - that the mid cycle bleeding should disappear and my AF should be lighter and less painful. He was correct the mid cycle bleeds stopped and while my AF has remained heavy, I no longer experience the clotting that I did previously! He said that it would increase my chances of falling pg in any future cycles within the next 6 months (apparently after that it can start to grow again, same as endo).. Anyway, I just thought it might be something worth investigating for you, if your additional bleeding after AF doesn't go away? I really only thought of it after I noticed in your signature that you had suffered previously with severe endo! Your gynae or FS may have already considered this and checked you for it.. It's just not something I have ever heard many people mention (IRL or on BB) so I just thought maybe it might be worth me mentioning... I'm def not trying to be negative or upset anyone, or anything like that... I was just really glad that for me that the problem was identified and treated, firstly because it made AF more bearable and secondly because we didn't waste any embies - having transfers that may have had less success in implanting because of the Ando in my uterus...
I'm not a dr so I am sure there are many reasons for mid cycle bleeds (eg ovulation!) but if bleeding is pre ov (and I'm sure many things can cause this other than Ando) I just thought it may be something you may appreciate being aware of?
Happy Saturday ladies - I hope everyone has an enjoyable and relaxing weekend... And for those waiting on ov or just something to happen, fingers crossed that then lead up to Easter sees your dreams come true. Xx

3rdTL, I've heard of Adenomyosis before, but never been diagnosed. My periods have been a lot lighter for the last 10 months for some reason. Anyway, I made an appt with the GP to discuss the bleeding and will also ask for a new referral to the FS (mine expired in February).
I have adenomyosis. I was diagnosed about 10 years ago. Basically, you bleed into the muscle wall which causes the pain.
Adenomyosis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wow TTL, thanks so much for your post (and juniper and N2L for your info too). I had never heard of this but it is something I will keep in mind for myself.
This time was the first mid cycle bleed I had ever experienced. I am getting ewcm and in quantities that would indicate O but my bloods are showing my levels rising, rising and rising but it feels like they are not going anywhere and then the ewcm disappears.
I have had shockingly heavy bleeds since coming off the pill and my endo has prescribed Mobic to stem the flow, which has helped. The last two months leading up,to O I have experienced shocking lower back pain. To the point where I have taken prescribe muscle relaxants as Voltaren etc don't work. Then suddenly the pain disappears as if nothing happened.
I'm wondering if these are all interlinking symptoms??
Anyway another bt tomorrow morning and we will just keep bding this weekend.

Hi N2L thank you so much for responding!! And for getting the spelling right!! :) I knew I had it wrong but couldn't work out which bit was wrong... So sorry ladies for giving you the wrong name and a bum steer so to speak, hopefully you weren't trying to google the wrong name! N2L can I ask - If you were diagnosed 10 years ago - how have you managed the condition since then? I ask because my diagnoses is relatively new, so I have had one D&C and I've been told by my gynae/FS that after this pg I will need to have a hysterectomy (sour family will be well and truly finished) to get rid of the the condition once and for all... I have been advised that if I have my uterus removed but keep my right ovary, that assuming I don't have any cysts on my right ovary that need to be removed, I will be able to keep my right ovary and not have to go on hormone replacement, to prevent menopause symptoms at the relatively young age of 38.
Have you had to have fairly regular D&C's to have the Adenomyosis removed? It's actually really great to meet someone else who has it, although I'm really sorry you have it and I hope that it isn't causing you massive complications with TTC:(
Juniper it's great you've made a Dr's appointment and I guess it's just something worth mentioning/ asking about. I'm not sure about you, but I just sometimes feels as though it's one medical issue after another... Which after a while becomes tiresome and you just get 'over it'. Hopefully Adenomyosis won't be an issue for you - but I guess its good to be aware it exists in case this is something that comes up in the future.
Joski - yay for the levels continuing to rise! I agree with whoever said just keep BD'ing, hopefully it will all be for a good cause:) The "shocking lower back pain" is something I struggle with as well every cycle and it's just debilitating, I hope the info above may help you as well - but I also really hope you don't have Adenomyosis - that being said, I'm assuming it's nit that common and so same as shimmied I hope it's not something you need to give much thought to!
N2L thanks so much for explaining what causes the pain! It really is debilitating isn't it? It's good to 'see you again on BB' I haven't been here much since my twinnies were born in 2012. But I have fond meninges of cycling with you, before they were conceived (I am also really grateful for you providing the correct spelling! I feel really bad for getting the name wrong for The super j's (Joski and Juniper) - like the super K's on the Block:)
Happy Sunday ladies - hope everyone has a great day.

Now, drum roll please....... We finally have O!!
Just wanted to say hi!:hello: I'm new in here - we've been seriously trying for no.2 for almost 18mo but no sucess yet :/
Thanks for the link Juniper!
Yay Joski!!! Awesome news O is finally here, GL now with this cycle!
Positively, how are you hun? Been thinking of you, hope all is as well as can be, just wanted to send you a big squeashy hug xx
twollamas, I'm sorry it's been taking ages to fall pg with number 2, I hope it's not a long wait for you now :crossfingers:
Hello to every one in here :)
AFM, I had some serious O pain yesterday, I had to take some pain killers as the pain on the left was that bad. I get so depressed when I have this kind of pain :(. I always wonder what my chances of catching that egg would be if I was with someone who didn't have severe male infertility. This may sound weird and I hope it doesn't offend anyone, but sometimes I dream of just jumping some guy's bones without OH knowing and seeing if I could get pg without doing this IVF crap lol. Seriously, I would never do it, but I sometimes wonder what it would be like to not have to worry about the other person's 'infertility'. Humf, having one of those days :wall:
Joski Woo Hoo on O ing, hopefully this is the one for your bfp you deserve it after all the crap of this cycle
PosGTC I'm so so terribly sorry, how are you? thinking of you and sending you lots of
Miss B You poor luv, I completely understand its not fair we have to go through all this crap, would be nice if it
was easy. Hope your feeling a bit better today :comfort:
twollamas welcome, hope your stay is short :)
Wooooo hooooo for Ov Joski!! Super thrilled for you! I have no doubt that with all the BT's and resulting BD'ing you have been doing - there is no doubt there will be 1,000's of little sperms waiting for your egg or eggs! You've been so patient and hopefully because ov is quite late in your cycle - your hormone levels will be awesome and you'll have a super strong, excellent ov this cycle! Delighted for you it's finally happened and its not an anovulatory cycle!
I like the nickname the 'super J's as well, I'm gl you like it!! As you and Juniper are going to ovulate quite closely together - it may just stick! Fingers crossed you both have great ov cycles together and you both get your bfp's this cycle - how cool would that be! :)
Hey Juniper - as for the early menopause thing - I have never really thought about this, but you make a really good point! I don't know enough about menopause, and what the causes are of going into early menopause... But personally,i have always judged the possibility of early menopause by my AMH levels - mine are 'too high' for my age according to my FS, which is sometimes caused by PCOS (which I also have).
Because my AMH is unnaturally high for my age (I'll be 38 in January as well) I never really thought I would go into menopause, and my FS has never mentioned it (I'm going to research whether there is a link between Adenomyosis and early menopause?) my estrogen and progesterone levels have always been pretty normal as far as I am aware but I have no idea about whether it could be early menopause? I really hope not because I am terrified of having to go on hormone replacement (I've always been really concerned bout the link with hormone replacement therapy and breat cancer which my MIL has made me paranoid about I reckon).
One of my good friends from school has been doing IVF for the last 8 months, and really sadly she has done maybe 5 fresh cycles and never had a successful transfer that has resulted in a bfp:( In those cycles she has always had either just one embie survive for transfer, or maybe one for transfer and one embie for freezing - but onnher two most recent cycles - the embie didn't survive the thaw for a day. 3 transfer:(
She is 37 same as me and her mother went into early menopause at 35 (but forgot to tell her until she was struggling with conception:() Her AMH is 1.3, down from 3 when she was tested 18 months ago... Her FS (she has been going to a different FS to me - but has just moved to my FS as she is only going to be doing 2 final fresh cycles and if not successful they are going to stop trying and focus on the gorgeous 5 yr old daughter they already have). The reason I bring that up is that she has been diagnosed as being ore menopausal, or soon to go into menopause (her old FS believes the reason she has not conceived is that both her egg reserve is low and he thinks her egg quality isn't that great). On the highest doses of gonal-f, Puregon etc she has only ever had one or two eggs suitable for collection in each cycle:(
However, she has never had mid cycle bleeding, or heavier than normal periods etc (so she isn't suffering with the symptoms we have: mid cycle bleeds, pain, clotting, sore back etc) - which is probably why I have never considered whether I could bender menopausal, because she has been diagnosed with being pre menopausal nut has never had the same symptoms as me (hope that makes sense?) eg it was a very loooonnngggg and round a out way of me saying, try not to worry, I am sure you would have other symptoms as well if you were premenopausal?
Either way - super J's (Joski and Juniper) I have everything crossed that you have awesome natural ov this cycle and you getbyour bfp's.
Welcome twollamas! It's great to meet you and I'm glad you've found this thread (sorry in advance for my ridiculously long posts - I cant seem to be able to help it recently:) I must have really missed BB after my twins were born ( and I had no time to even pop in and say hi). I hope you have success sooner rather than later! Are you doing IVF or trying naturally?
Xxx
Sorry 1 more! I totally forgot to say hi! :) I hope you are having success with your diet changes in the lead up to IVF? I was thinking of you yesterday because you said you love sodas? I usually only drink water or sparkling water but innate been craving that red fanta?? (go figure....) :)
X
Miss B - so sorry somehow I missed your post as well! And it made me LOL! I can totally understand how you are feeling! Think I would probably feel the same way. I know it's super frustrating for us as women when our bodies don't work - so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be when you feel as though DH's body is the one letting the team down.. I always feel really sorry for our other halves when the fertility issues are with them. I know it must be so hard for the guys and I guess every guy is different but it's probably not something they really feel like they can talk to their mates about?
I cant imagine my DH having a beer with his mates and coming-out with "yeah we really want to have another baby but my spermies aren't working the way they should"... I wish blokes were inclined to go on a forum like BB and share their feeling. I envy those ladies who have DH's that communicate openly (my DH is so private about this kind of stuff that sometimes he struggles to talk to me about how he's feeling!)
Miss B - It's great you are having strong ov in your cycles at least and that your body ov all by itself? I can only imagine how frustrating it must be, that even though you know you have good ov that falling pg naturally is difficult:( with your kind of MFI - is IVF the only option open to you with TTC? If it is - I am sending all my love and big hugs that you won't have to wait long to cycle again(if you have decided that you are going to go down the fresh cycle path again?)
Hopefully now that your AMH has improved - you'll get a super haul of eggs on your next cycle, and your bfp is imminent. I think I'd be excited just because of the positive AMH results! It would definitely make me feel more positive about doing another fresh cycle:)
As for jumping a stranger - just the idea made me lol on a Monday morning. You comment was very funny (not offensive at all) - I'm sure many women in your position have thought and said exactly the same thing!
Xxx
Naw, thank you all for the lovely welcome! I've been reading through and am really struck by how supportive and positive overall you all are while going through crappy stuff - I really hope no one has to wait too much longer for their much wanted bubbas!
Thirdtimelucky - we're trying naturally for now. In the 2ww at the moment, but if there's no luck this time we're going to see a fs (hubby's been reluctant to go so far, but I think it's starting to really bother him now too, so he's agreed to get some help :) ). It's been a tricky decision as we've managed to get preg a couple of times, but haven't been able to keep them, so ob has taken the 'just keep trying' approach. I'm getting impatient now!

3rdTL, if your AMH is high, I doubt you have anything to worry about. My AMH, on the other hand, is worse than your friend's. Mine was 1.5 back in June 2012 (at 36yo) and is probably well below 1 by now. I have no family history of early menopause, so the most likely culprit is my endometriosis (causing damage to my ovaries and compromising my eggs).
Hi Ladies, Happy Monday to all :)
Joski - awesome news re the O'ing as TTL says with all the bding you have been doing whilst waiting there would be thousands of sperm waiting t pounce on your egg/s. GL hun
Twollamas - Hi and welcome to the forum, wishing you a happy but short stay with us. So glad you and DH have decided to see a FS we waited thinking it would just happen naturally and now I could kick our backsides for waiting. Once we finally went to see our GP for a referral she then insisted we wait 12 months before she would give us a referral. In frustration and anger we went and saw another GP who made us wait 6 months when considering we had been trying for almost 3 years at that point really hurt. But we got there in the end but still waiting on the BFP :(
Juniper - I thought of you over the weekend I knew you had an embie that never survived a thaw and thought how crap I was feeling and knew that is exactly how you would have felt too. It's a different kind of hurt to dong a transfer and finding out its a BFN. You are so strong!! GL this cycle x
Miss B - You made me smile :) I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel for me the shoe seems to be on the other foot. It would be interesting for sure to see if you jumped some guys bones if you would rather quickly get a BFP, damn why are things so complicated at times hey
TTL - Hope you are well hun, hope you are still on cloud 9 and enjoying your BFP. When do you leave for your holiday? meant to say wow you have a pretty amazing ex to have such a wonderful involvement with your family, that's pretty special
Thank you all for your kind words you are all so sweet and dear!
I have had a few good cries DH has been a super star and just held me tight while I cried and encouraged me to let it all out. I do feel so much better for it. I am seeing my Naturopath on Saturday whilst we were on the last break I started taking some herbs which I am pretty sure she said would increase me egg quality so going to chat to her and see what else she suggest before we try again. Started taking the C0Q10 on Saturday
I am determined to get my BFP, i just want one surely that is not to much to ask for!!
Ok let me stop blabbing, you guys take care
Love & light and best of luck to all , sprinkling baby dust on all in the forum xx
Sorry Ladies just a quick question......how many days does it take for the Ovidril trigger to leave your system?
PositivelyGTC, our situation was slightly different. We did once have an embie not survive the thaw, but we had two to thaw that cycle. The time our transfer was cancelled was actually a fresh cycle - we had 6 embies, so we tried for a 5dt and none made it to transfer... Adding insult to injury, it was December and AF showed up on Christmas Eve... It was our next stim cycle (2dt) that gave us DD, so we went from one extreme to the other from one stim cycle to the next!
For the ovidrel, it varies from woman to woman - you're generally looking at 10-14 days from trigger, although some women metabolise it even faster or slower than those times...
BTW, Joski, let me know which day is O day if you want it on the list. ;)
Oh Juniper that sounds just awful, i don't know how you managed to put one foot in front of the other at that times.... see you are incredibly strong!
Thanks for the info on the Ovidrel tired of feeling pregnant now :(
The clinic called when we do proceed with another IVF they are going to put me on melatonin too which is supposed to increase egg quality...has anyone ever heard of this? any feed back appreciated
Also asked what my AMH level was as I have seen you Ladies chatting about it, well mine is 4 :( that doesn't sound very good at all
Positively, I took melatonin during my IUI cycles last year. Best sleep I had all year! ;) An AMH of 4 is below average, so it's good you're doing all you can to TTC right now. Doing what you can to help egg quality is about all you can really do...
Positively - good to se you back. Umm trigger was 10 days for me and I got a very clear negative on day 11...
Sounds as though Melatonin and CoQ10 will be great for your egg quality.. 4 is below average but it's not the end of the world.plenty of women still fall pg with low AMH, sometimes it just takes longer than one would like...xx
Thanks for all the well wishes ladies.... I'm really hoping for a good result this time around but I'm not getting my hopes up.
juniper can you please put me down as 1dpo today (Sunday)- guess I'm officially in the TTW now, fx!
I mentioned getting bt for O to one of my friends (she is one of the freakish people who fell pg first go!) she did mention that perhaps I'm too acidic and that is killing off the sperm? Has anyone ever experienced this? My FS didn't mention it and she is pretty open about things like that.
Welcome twollamas, how your stay is short and sweet, but in the mean time we will do our best to keep you entertained  GL with you visit to the FS, hopefully you get some answers soon.
PGTC, TTL, Miss B and juniper - thinking of you all, (the bone jumping comment made me smile).
Hi to everyone else :baby dust: to all
Xxx
Hope its ok to post here. For those of you who have had or are trying to have second or third kids via ivf, how did you know you were ready to jump back on the ivf bandwagon. My dd just turned one. She took us twelve months of ivf to conceive and whilst I know id like to give her a sibling one day im petrified of doing ivf again. Its such a hard journey and I dont know if im ready to cope with the rollercoaster ride. But will I ever be?
Lol, I'm glad I made you smile ladies, just the thought of jumping another man's bones makes me a) shudder and b) giggle. Good thing I'd never actually do it haha.
Jane, I thought about adding to our little family when DS was around 6 months old, OH just laughed (silly bugger). I really wanted to try from when he was 12 months old, and we eventually started on the IVF rollercoaster again when he was 22 months old. Still trying here, he just turned 4 :o
Positively, my FS believes melatonin helps with egg quality as your body really rests at night when you're on it. I didn't start it till around the time of my last cycle (last year July, but I remember starting it after the second FET from that cycle which would have been around October????), I'm still taking it together with the COQ10. I really thought the melatonin together with COQ10 made my AMH level jump from 8 to 17, but my FS says that when my earlier tests showed a lower result, the test was done incorrectly, so now I'm confused. I'm not sure if it's the error of the testing that's given me such a different reading, or whether it really is the combination of the two tablets that I'm taking that's improved my AMH reading. I'm off to see him is early May, so I will have a chat to him about it.
Jane, we started TTC#2 as soon as AF returned because of my endo. Every cycle the endo will grow back a little more, so it made sense to start immediately. It has been almost 2 years now and we're yet to have enough money for an IVF, but we did a FET with our one and only frozen embie and 3 IUIs...
Welcome Jane!!
Jane welcome, hope your stay is short xx
Quick Question. Should I also be taking melatonin as well as the COQ10 for ivf?
Hi Ladies, hope we are all well :)
Jane - welcome hope you have a short and sweet stay with us, it really is each to their own that being said if I were you and you think you are feeling strong enough I would start IVF as soon as you can, perhaps get your body ready first though.......just my opinion hope I don't offend you or anyone else
1more - hey it can't hurt to try the melatonin too must be something in it if the FS is wanting me to use it. GL hun
Everyone else just wanted to say Hi, I am thinking of you and GL to all wherever you are in your journey
AFM - I am just taking it easy happy that I am making in roads to improving my chance of improving my egg quality. Looking forward to seeing the Naturopath this weekend, its funny how anything you do that in your mind constitutes as one step closer to achieving a BFP makes you feel better. We have an apt with the FC on the 2 May to sign forms to start a IVF cycle when we are ready for it, apparently forms are valid for 6 months.
Oh yes Juniper thanks a mil for mentioning that your GP referral expires I asked the clinic yesterday when mine expires and it's mid June so I have made a note to make an appoint for the next one! would have been awful to run out just as I may have wanted to start a new round with the clinic.
Ok lovely Ladies I must get going, have a superb day Love & Light to all xx
