Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
Hi Ladies, hope everyone is well and getting nice and excited about our upcoming long weekend :leap:
Yesterday arvo I started feeling as bloated and stretchy as I did the day after the trigger and I had on and off cramping/pulling kind of feelings right down below sort of just above the pubic bone. it was really uncomfortable so much so I was going to go for a walk last night with DH but instead got in to bed early. Has anyone had this at 7dpo? any ideas what it could be?
This morning I am still feeling bloated but not the stretchy feeling and no cramping
I was starting to wonder last night if it was a uti :(
Anyway lovely Ladies just wanted to wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend with your loved ones, may it be full of special moments and lots of love & happiness
I have a pretty busy weekend but will pop in at some point to support you all
Love & light xx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
:
Hi N2L thank you so much for responding!! And for getting the spelling right!! :) I knew I had it wrong but couldn't work out which bit was wrong... So sorry ladies for giving you the wrong name and a bum steer so to speak, hopefully you weren't trying to google the wrong name! N2L can I ask - If you were diagnosed 10 years ago - how have you managed the condition since then? I ask because my diagnoses is relatively new, so I have had one D&C and I've been told by my gynae/FS that after this pg I will need to have a hysterectomy (sour family will be well and truly finished) to get rid of the the condition once and for all... I have been advised that if I have my uterus removed but keep my right ovary, that assuming I don't have any cysts on my right ovary that need to be removed, I will be able to keep my right ovary and not have to go on hormone replacement, to prevent menopause symptoms at the relatively young age of 38.
Have you had to have fairly regular D&C's to have the Adenomyosis removed? It's actually really great to meet someone else who has it, although I'm really sorry you have it and I hope that it isn't causing you massive complications with TTC:(
Juniper it's great you've made a Dr's appointment and I guess it's just something worth mentioning/ asking about. I'm not sure about you, but I just sometimes feels as though it's one medical issue after another... Which after a while becomes tiresome and you just get 'over it'. Hopefully Adenomyosis won't be an issue for you - but I guess its good to be aware it exists in case this is something that comes up in the future.
Joski - yay for the levels continuing to rise! I agree with whoever said just keep BD'ing, hopefully it will all be for a good cause:) The "shocking lower back pain" is something I struggle with as well every cycle and it's just debilitating, I hope the info above may help you as well - but I also really hope you don't have Adenomyosis - that being said, I'm assuming it's nit that common and so same as shimmied I hope it's not something you need to give much thought to!
N2L thanks so much for explaining what causes the pain! It really is debilitating isn't it? It's good to 'see you again on BB' I haven't been here much since my twinnies were born in 2012. But I have fond meninges of cycling with you, before they were conceived (I am also really grateful for you providing the correct spelling! I feel really bad for getting the name wrong for The super j's (Joski and Juniper) - like the super K's on the Block:)
Happy Sunday ladies - hope everyone has a great day.
Xxx
TTL, sorry about the delay in replying. I honestly don't come in here other than for a quick read. I feel I don't have that much to contribute except negativity (lol) and no-one wants to hear that. I honestly think that IVF is sold as a 'miracle' but you don't hear about the over 40% of people it doesn't work for, of which I am one. And I have tried everything - melatonin (for a year), coQ10 (for years now), acupuncture, Chinese herbs, weightloss, experimental drugs, pipelle biopsy, Colorado protocol, steroids, antibiotics, Intralipids.... everything. Nothing worked. And no one can say why :/
The adeno could be a contributing factor. I have had a couple of D&Cs, but there is no treatment other than hysterectomy. A D&C can make it worse due to the scarring it can cause. My adeno is diffuse, which means it is throughout my pelvis. My periods are really heavy, extremely painful and very clotty. I usually just live on Panadeine forte, Nurofen extra and endone for that week. I am not ready for a hysterectomy yet.
My uterus is also really bulky and enlarged and my ovaries have been displaced because of it. They now sit behind my uterus.
A lot of women in their 30s and 40s have at least some adeno. Especially if they have had pelvic surgery - termination, caeserean, D&C, etc.
Anyway, I have pretty much given up on the whole having a baby thing. It obviously just isn't in our future :( Which isn't to stay I don't track my cycle and jump DP throughout ovulation time  but, deep down, I know it isn't going to happen. We started hardcore TTC when I was 36. I am 43 next birthday. That's a lot of BFNs and a lot of tears. If it was going to happen, it would have by now.
Anyway, like I said, I'm full of negativity and bitterness, so I apologise for that, but that's my and DP's reality. LTTTC doesnt always have a happy ending, I guess and i personally think it's important that people go into AC realising that's the case.
Anyway, enough of Debbie Downer :D I wish everyone here well. I'll continue stalking and trying to catch my crappy eggs.
Which reminds me, I am 2dpo thanks juniper. I had a horrendous ovulation this month. Bleeding brown blood and bad pain. I think I o'ed from my left side (which is the side my tube was removed from in December) so I guess that's the reason.

N2L - I felt like I had to reply to your post, because I have had such similar feelings of anger and bitterness at times. I really really wish for a twist in the tale for you. But I really think like you say it can be important to acknowledge that AC isn't always a miracle solution for everyone. I have a few close friends who have closed the door on it, and are moving on. I really hope that you get some peace with moving on, if you choose and/or some peace with continuing to try. I think it's really brave to be honest about the negative side too.
lots of love,

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
hey 1moreplease, not stupid at all. Yes, I can imagine how time just stretches to eternity in these waiting periods. So stressful. I have posted on the pregnancy after ltttc thread. But I only read this thread, TBH. I'll just come out with it. I have been having spotting, on bedrest and .... this is unbelievable, an early dating scan revealed identical twins. Really scared. It is hard to relax with the spotting. Anyway .... I hope it is okay to post in here. I won't go on about it, because I know many of you here would be utterly thrilled with this news. We are also overwhelmed with emotion. Longer story in other thread.
all the best to everyone here,

I have also been doing some thinking and im too obsessed with TTC so I think I need to step back during the 3 cycle break. So im not going to come on the thread as often for a while. I will come on to cheer you on and wish you well just not as often. Hope you understand. .....im just to damn obsessed and im hoping this will help me take a step back. Gosh I hope im making sense

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
Happy Easter to you all!
N2l - I'm so sorry :( I can only imagine how much it hurts, and hope you can find some peace with what life has thrown at you (and I'll keep fingers crossed for a miracle baby for you :) )
I had AF turn up on Friday (4 days later than usual - just to taunt me!) so there's yet another BFN :(. Will start making calls on Tuesday to see a FS. I know you've all already been there so I shouldn't complain, but getting help kind of makes it official that we've failed. Time to take the next step.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
Hi Ladies
I'm back at work today - sigh!!
PGTC - glad you are taking a break and doing what you need. Your mental health is just as important as your physical. I know AF sucks but I agree with your Naturo, it is a sign that your body is working. At least that is the way I look at it!
Twollamas - good luck with your FS appt hon. For it was a such a relief to finally do it and set myself a path to follow.
Hi N2L, juniper, WW and 1more :waves:
AFM - I really have no idea what it going on (as per usual!!) Late last night and this morning there was some pinkish/brown colour when I wiped. Not blood but just colour?! I usually get that before AF comes but it is more dark brown and streaky (sorry if this is TMI) I guess AF is on her way given I have had such a long cycle this time....
Only need to get to Friday before some more days off!!

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
Girls-
Probably nothing to get excited about, but has anyone experienced evap lines with FR dip tests?
Is there anything that makes an evap lime different to a BFP?

Emma, look in my albums in my profile.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
I was never sure if it was a chemical or an evap. But just because whatever it was didn't end in a baby for me, doesn't mean what you have won't end in a baby for you. Test again in the morning. Post a pic if you want.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
Thanks- I have no tests left, not going to rush out and get any...... Plus supermarkets aren't open till 1pm being Anzac Day.
Think I'll consider it an evap.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception April/May 2014
Hi All,
Sorry I just disappeared for a while! We've been in SA on my in-laws farm so I haven't been able to get online!
So much has been happening.... I will prob miss someone... But I'll do my best!
N2L - I'm so sorry that your TTC journey has been so sucky:( I agree with myturn, I so desperately wish it would happen for you.. And your welcome to vent any time. I wish there was more we could say or do to support you.
WW - wow identical twins! Congratulations! I'm sorry to hear about the spotting and bed rest, but try and stay positive. Especially with identicals, it isn't always a bad thing and doesn't mean you won't deliver two gorgeous undoes of joy. If you ever want to talk about it - feel free to Pm me. I was terrified when I found out at 7 weeks that we were having identical twins. We were happy, but completely overwhelmed and unprepared for the different challenges that come with an identical twin pg. I wont go into it here either - but if you haven't already, I highly recommend you finding an excellent MFM (maternal fetal medicine specialist - kind of 5 years study beyond on OB). Mine saved my sanity, and while they aren't cheap (I won't go into that either) we found it really worthwhile having a Dr from the beginning that could deal with anything the pregnancy threw at us, without having to see other Dr's. Eg: I developed twin to twin transfusion syndrome at 14 weeks and my Dr was able to do the required surgery and also scan every two days himself (I didn't have to go anywhere else) I found this incredibly helpful, because he specialized in high risk identical twin pg's. It's a stressful time and a lot of work when they arrive for the first 18 months - it certainly turned our world upside down! But they are such a gift and all the stress and struggle was worth it. Sending you lots of good luck and strength.
Positively, sorry to hear about AF. I totally understand your need for a break! I saw your email late last night but was too exhausted to respond with the attention it deserves - so after I've unpacked today, I will respond properly, hopefully in 3 months time you'll have your happy ending, or a natural miracle before then, I have everything crossed for you gorgeous.
Joski - so sorry I haven't been here to support you in the 2ww! I will visit there next to see how you are going!
Juniper - hi! I am not sure where you are up to but I'm guessing you might be in the 2ww as you were waiting for O just before I went away - everything crossed for you honey.
Emma - I so hope its not an evap! Hang in there Hun! Maybe try testing on a FRER stick? That should give you the best result?
AFM we had an awesome holiday, but it's great to be home! I feel a bit weird as I haven't had a BT for 11 days, so I went and had on this morning. Fingers crossed that the hcg has been rising and all is okay, while we've been away. We haven't told anyone, DH and I agree it's just too early although I'm sure my SIL's were suss:) been feeling ok, just tired and occasional bouts of nausea, which I guess is normal and. Should consider reassuring.
