So I guess we're not saying out loud what was on those three tests...and the fact that we're not saying it out loud kind of says what they said...right? I make so much sense huh..LOL! I just focused on enjoying the 'chance' that things were heading in the right direction...and that only changed for me after my first blood...even though the nurse said the level was great my intuition was doubting it...I think I just knew? I am soooooo keeping everything crossed for you!!! We need a heap of BFP's in here!!!
Me - Stayed home today...just cranky and I don't think it's fair to stomp around the office. I need to clear my head before FS tomorrow. I haven't cried yet...don't know what that's about. Maybe because physically nothing has happened yet???
-
Ellie, these HPT's are driving me nuts. Ahhh, yeah but what you im not saying is what you are thinking, but i dont know if i believe what i am seeing yet, DH does. He thinks i am going to have twins. Ha, i really dont think so! Its funny though because last time i tested about this time and was BFN, but this time i got a good result yest. So im just not sure.
Im glad you are having day off, its best sometimes just to have some you time, time away from work. I agree, that because you havent started bleeding yet, maybe thats why the tears arent flowing. I screamed to start with, then nothing, then sad after d & c, and when i picked DH up from airport. I hope things go well with your doc appts.
-
I think you ARE and I think TWINS and I think YIPPEE and I agree..self preservation kicks in and we wait...Sunday...mmmm...I'll be waiting right here!!!!
-
Shhhh!!! Im very very not optimistic. We will just have to wait and see. It can just all come to an end so fast.
-
Rols- I would have to agree with you on BB making IVF life so much easier. BB tells you what the doctors don't and theres always someone around in here to help out no matter what time of the day it is. About DW and going off her food that is a Good sign. I went off lots of food to with my kids and things started to taste different like coffee tasted like milo and vegemite just tasted weird. Pumpkin, i LOVE pumpkin but i couldn't eat it when i was pregnant with my daughter and tomatoes with the boys.
Mmmmmm sounds very good Mel good luck. This waiting really does suck. Any little feeling or any little pain i freak out. The toilet and me have a great relationship going on at the moment,i seem to be in there all the time peeing!!!!
Shannon- Good luck with the injections on the weekend. Hope they dont hurt to much.
Holly im so sorry darl, take it easy.Im 7 days post EPU and 5 days post transfer
Me- I still has these pains and I got some like sharp ones earlier today and then they went but the AF like pain is still hanging around. Can AF turn up this early???
-
Tell me about it...but try to enjoy this side of the unknown...as you know too well...the otherside sux...sorry for getting excited...just so want this for you!
-
I'll be waiting right here too Mel sounds like this is the one or maybe two .Gee i dont think i could wait, i'd be going to my GP and getting a BT done :)
-
So Mel, you've got a BFP from the POAS test. I really hope it's the real deal! I would've thought that based on what you've described, the trigger drugs would be long gone. There could even be twins in there!
Ellie, it's good that you have your FS appt tomorrow and should have a better idea about what is going on.
Mel, DW isn't particularly worried or uptight about the TWW (being uptight and/or worried is generally my job), she was just in a foul mood for some unexplained reason and was also super tired last night despite eating and sleeping normally. Really tired the night before too. She's quite chirpy today.
We're trying our best not to break our resolve and do the POAS test before the BT. If it shows one line I'll feel like crap, then try and tell myself it may be too early (and therefore worry more) and if it shows 2 lines then I'll worry that it's a false positive. So for me at least, it's much easier to just cruise along until BT day. Although DW sort of keen on POAS the morning of the BT. She'll be in Sydney and has arranged to get tested at the clinic there, so I'll be crapping myself waiting for the phone to ring. Thing is, if it's neg, I'll be down for an hour or two then bounce back pretty quickly I think, as will DW. Generally speaking, I'm a bull at a gate and have to face everything head on, so the waiting is often worse than the answer!

Hi Everyone... I havent been here for awhile, keeping a low profile after 3 failed IUI's - had to get my head around them! Will be starting ICSI / IVF in October, looking forward to it - in a weird kind of way!
Hope everyone is going well... coping with the daily 'toll' of TTC!
I am going to be a little bit selfish and jump straight into a question if thats ok?
I was wondering if anyone had ever used 'preseed' or if anyone knew if it was really safe for people who are TTC? Its quite an embaressing questions.. but I dont want to go out and buy some and un-willingly ruin any chance of conceiving naturally (if at all possible). (ive lost the little faces - but if I had them, I would be blushing right now!!)
-
Mel - The trigger would be well & truly out of your system now!!! ;)
SOOOO..... Yay for you it sounds!!!!
Maybe your DH is right???!!!
This cycle has just been so different for you this time - and so positive, it would just be a perfect way to finish it off!!!
I wish you the very best of luck with it, sweetie xxx

Hi Guys
I am very new to this so please bare with me. I have been trying to conceive for the past 12 months. We have had natural cycels monitored, done 3 lots of unsuccessful IUI's and currently on our 2nd IVF. My first IVF was in June 2007 as this was my first I didnt expect much results as they were testing to see what drugs I could handle. They only retrieved 3 eggs and none of them made it to the blast stage so as you could imagine very upsetting. I have just completed my second round of IVF and had a better result, they collected 14 eggs which shocked me. Our first cycle we tried ICSI but this time chose IVF as we had more eggs and sperm. Out of the 14 eggs only 4 fertilised, I was very shocked as I expected alot more. We had our Day 3 phone call and was told there were still 4 in the running. We then had our Day 5 call (when transfer should occur) to find out that they still werent at Blast but they were on their way so they wanted to wait another day. This had happened to me in my first cycle but they never made it to the Day 6 so I had little hope this time. We were phoned on Day 6 to be told that we had a Day 6 blast grade 2, we couldnt believe it. So I am now I am waiting hopefully for a BFP which will be known next Thursday. I am currently also on Crinone cream which isn't very nice. Does anyone know or had a successful Day 6 blast transfer? Sorry for the long winded story!!!
-
well getting closer to my first day of bloods tracking for transfer.... next tuesday.
Rols - as much as you find our support helpful, so do we with yours. you seem very down to earth and quite knowledgable. its so refreshing to have a males point of view and my DH has read some of your posts and totally understood your feelings and comments. good luck with the rest of your TWW
MO5 - 4 blasties is a fab number ( that was our starting number too after our fresh transfer!)
me - wisdom teeth have flared up and my dentist has retired. so i went to a new one in south perth. he is young and fabuluos. after saying i start ivf next week he quickly got xrays done. then he proceeded to pull out two of my wisdom on one side and give me antibiotics for the infected side. i go back monday for the removal of the other two. just before my ivf starts! how wonderful i am in agony and feel like i have lost a major boxing match! one side is aching and the other is sore from infection... but all for a good cause!
we got approval on our house out of the suburbs with subject to sale on our current house. so now we put it on the market tomorrow and hope for a reasonably quick sale....yippee....
take care everybody, wherever or whatever stage you are at....
-
Welcome Nat to BB. We had a lady who used to be in these threads who did a Day 6 transfer of 2 blasts and who has now got twin boys as a result. HTH you. :)
Sonya, great news on the house. We nought our new place subject to sale too and sold out current house 2 days before the contract was due to expire. Hopefully you have a quick sale on your current place.
-
Hi everyone!
Lots going on in the couple of days I have been out of action!
Ellie & Holly sorry about negative result! Hope next cycle is the ONE for you both.
Happy Mel, Rols & Mof5... sending you sticky vibes and hope your little embies STICK!
Sparkles how are you coming along?
And everyone else I have missed hope you are fine.
Nat welcome! Dont have any answers for you as am on 1st cycle, but hopefully the other BBs can help out!
Well me, went for my BT today and tomorrow night start on the Gonal F, then will be in again next week for BT. Silly nurse today forgot to take my full BT and to top it off was jabbed twice cause the first time the needle couldnt get my vein! The nurse I had the first time was better. Hope I get her next time. So anyway next Tues have to have full BT and have acupuncture that arvo. So all on track. Half way there I suppose. AF finishing thankgoodness ... they were so sore this month! Lets hope the lunar eclipse from last night brings us lots of splendid little souls our way!
Mon :)
-
hi to everyone well im still plodding along on the pill today is day 12 and next tuesday i start the spray:clap:i dont no why but im excited about that i suppose it will just feel like one step closer
MON i wish you all the best hun with all your BT and the gonal f;)
ROLS AND MUMOF5 sending you a heap of:stickyvibesboy:
to eveyone else best of luk with all the snorting injecting and eveything else this is such a busy thread i have trouble keeping up my brain is like mush at the moment lol..
-
Karena, sorry I have no idea what 'preseed' is, but it certainly sounds interesting! One of the girls may be able to help.
Nat, I responded to your post on the TWW thread, but hi again anyway.
Sonya, you're lucky you could have the wisdom teeth out in the chair with a local (sounds as if you had it done that way) instead of via general and in hospital. It's much quicker, and massively cheaper. Both DW and I had to have ours surgically removed and between the two of us (with only extras PH cover at the time) I think it cost us something like 3K out of pocket which sucked. You'll be glad to be rid of them though; they're like the appendix and the coccyx, a throwback to our distant ancestors and totally useless.
Mon, don't you hate it when they go back for seconds? They did that to DW at the EPU and she wasn't a happy camper. Speaking of the eclipse, I tried to get photos from our front yard last night, but DW has gone and lost the tripod attachment, and with the slow shutter speed and wide aperture needed for decent night photography the photos ended up blurred and crappy.
Smithy, I reckon it's natural to be excited. We all love progress!
Oi, BG, whaddup? You are being uncharacteristically quiet (and I mean that in the best possible way - it's not the same without your wisdom). Hi to Holly, BW, Chez, Shelly, Mel, Nic, Shannon, Ellie, Sparkles, Mo5 and anyone else who has escaped my mind.
-
Hi to everyone
Was just having a chat with BW, Sarah and Missy in the on-line chat room. My first time - very cool!
So much happening here at the mo' which is just great.
Rols - when I was on the crinone I was exhausted - in bed by 8pm most nights and just did not feel rested in the morning at all. I know BG had a similar experience even though it is not a documented side affect. Still, I understand what you mean about the extra pressure from HPTs... sounds like you will be a bit tense waiting for that phone call. I really hope you are one of the first time success stories!
Mo5 - things are sounding good for you too, here's hoping
Hi Mon - I am not easy to take blood out of either. I am used to being a bit of a pin cushion so always try to prewarn the nurse just in case they aren't feeling too confident. But last time they missed and had to get a 2nd nurse, it REALLY HURT! Makes Gonal-f and the trigger look like a walk in the park in comparison! Good luck with your cycle1
Sonya - glad you were able to get your teeth sorted out so quickly. You are brave having them done under local! And congrats on the house... we move into our new one in 3 weeks. We are so looking forward to the extra space!
Hi Nat and welcome to our chat thread. You will find lots of experienced and supportive people here. Good luck wiht your b/t and I hope your stay with us short!
Hi Mel - all sounding good for you!! How exciting! Good luck with b/t day!
Hi to Hollly, Karena, Sparkles, BG, Smithy, Sushee, Ellie, BG and everyone else. Hope you are all doing well. Take care,
Cherylxxx

Thanks for the info on the fatigue/crinone thing, Chez. Must admit I am feeling a bit bummed now though because that seemed to be the main thing that she has that wasn't listed as a crinone side effect. She's been on the crinone since Monday last week, and the fatigue started on the weekend a bit (t/f Fri), but has definitely kicked off since Monday this week. Who knows. Better to be forewarned though and keep our feet on the ground.
-
hi all
sorry i've been quiet of late - have been reading but by the time i get on here most of the things i'd normally pop in to say have been said already!
i guess i've been a little withdrawn - having good news and then bad so soon after has put me in a very different frame of mind - i'm very focussed on moving forward, and perhaps selfishly (sorry) i'm being very "me" oriented - i have had some issues with getting my cycle going, and then with other dramas along the way, so i've become a bit of an introvert! i guess i just feel very vulnerable and exposed at the moment, so self preservation has kicked in
i had my trigger shot today, and IUI tomorrow, so i will soon be joining some of you in the TWW - hopefully i'll be back to my chatty self by then
sorry for no personals - as i said, i've been following closely, but finding it hard to post too much
take care all!
-
Well i had my nurse appointment today for ivf and i thought i better do a preg test before going JUST INCASE
and...guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BFP BFP BFP BFP BFP BFP
I am in utter shock, it truly is a miracle, i have taken two tests and been to the doctor and had a urine test, i still want to speak to my specialist about getting blood tests etc
BUt after 16 months of ttc and told we have to use ivf and the month i didnt temp, i drank, had hot baths, didnt take any notice, didnt time intercourse, did everything wrong
I am still in disbelief and a tad worried Due to everything and the long wait. PLease pray for me that its STICKY and healthy, Hubby is in shock too, he keeps telling me to do another test.
See girls against all odds 2%good morphology can go a long way !!!!!
i cant believe it
-
wow sparkles!!!:confetti::happyforyou:
congratulations hun to both of you. isnt DH so clever! it just proves how so little can go such a long way. heres hoping for a sticky embie (or two! he!he!) and a H&H pregnancy
-
Blo0dy hell Sparkles! Congratulations. What good news that is. :)
-
Wow Sparkles, congratulations!
All the best, with lots of sticky wishes being sent :)
BG - Thinking of you today, hope the IUI is perfect.
Rols, how are you and your DW? Hope you are both well.
Big hello to everyone else.
Nic
-
Yay Sparkles, that's fantastic!!! And here i was hurrying up AF for you the other day so you could start your IVF!!! Wooohooo!! Its about time we had some good news in here. :stickyvibesboy::confetti::confetti:
-
Congrats Sparkles! Great to be reminded that miracles do happen!
-
Ellie how did the appt go today??
-
Hi Mel
Appointment was great. I love my FS. All tests for recurrent mc came back clear so that ruled alot out and he'd tested for coeliac disease which was clear too. So...the plan is to throw everything at me this time...asprin everyday starting today...down reg this month and full stim next month (ICSI) with antibiotics, steriods and hcg boosters from transfer through to BT...I think he called it the 'colorado protocol' or something like that anyway...he thinks my embryos are sensitive to the culture medium so we will do a day 1 transfer ...he also thinks that my immune system is kicking in as a reaction to the culture and maybe DH's part of the embryo...hope that all makes sense??? It's easier to 'talk' it than write it!@?! Oh...and to top it all off I'm CD 1 today so I'm off for bloods tomorrow morning and start synarel on CD 21...so Monday I was pregnant...Thursday I'm on the road again!@?! Feels really positive though. Very happy with the plan!
-
-
Thanks Rol. I've shocked myself I must say. I think it's finally sunk in that there is very little I can do to control any of this. Yeah, I can eat well, exercise, stick to my chiro schedule..maybe look at accupunture...but at the end of the day a pregnancy is a miracle...and I don't have any control over them that's up to the big man...I'm just along for the ride. FS did shock me a bit when he started talking about the next step if this doesn't work...taking a cell out of the embryo to check it out to determine which ones to transfer $$$$$$
-
Yeah, the old $$$. We got our Medicare rebate today and a bit from PHI and with what we have already paid off, we don't have very much owing. Our plan is that if we need to do more stim cycles we'll aim to have the previous one fully paid off before starting the new one, so as not to fall behind. Obviously it depends on the means of each couple, but when you start adding new procedures to the mix, along with other financial commitments and the desire to get on with the job it certainly makes for an interesting balancing act.
Anyway, I think your attitude is super cool ;)
DW fairly tired again. She rang the clinic this morning to get their opinion on whether it's the crinone and whether she should still be using it twice daily. They said it's unlikely to be the crinone (but anything's possible of course) and more likely that she's either up the duff, or it's as a result of her over stimulation and consequent whoopee-do hormone levels. I hadn't considered the latter, but seeing as the fatigue thing has only started this week post t/f, I would've thought if it was over-stim related it would've been more prevalent in the days following EPU, which was nearly two weeks ago. Buggered if I know.
Oh, and DW just rang to tell me she's experienced the 'metallic taste' thing - when drinking filtered water. Of course I interrogated her as to whether the water was fresh, whether it had been changed since the last time she topped up etc. Based on my interrogation, I am satisfied it is her, not the water. But, probably another crinone side effect...
-
Rols the metallic taste is not a side effect of crinone :)
Ellie, if you FS is talking about PGD, seriously do have a good think about it. It costs extra yes, about $2k and none of it covered by Medicare, I don't think, but it will stop the possibility of transferring embryos that were never chromosonally normal anyway. That way you know that you're getting the very best chance with the blast that comes through without any abnormalities.
-
Thanks Sushee...I knew it was P something but kept thinking PDA..lol...I hope we're not going to get to that. The thing that's stuck in my head is the furthest we've got with a pregnancy was 7.5 weeks and that only ended because it was an ectopic and ruptured...seems the tube is friendlier than my uterus? Maybe the antibiotics and steriods will make for a 'nicer' environment? Gosh I hope so! Another $2K ...mmmm...that will need thinking about!
-
Sparkles - that's great news hun!
Ellie - sounds like a very positive and productive appt today! woo hoo
Rols - the metallic taste is sounding great for your DW - not long to go now!
-
Ellie, what a big week you have had! Im glad things went well with FS today and that you have more plans in place for next ICSI. Tell you what, sounds like your FS is throwing everything at you next time!! He seems really dedicated to getting you that sticky pregnancy. He really seems involved which is great! Day 1 transfer will be different, does that mean they freeze them at day 1 too? You are such a strong person Ellie, i know its going to happen for you :)
Rols- talk about fatigue! They say Crinone can cause extreme fatigue! Think that's what is happening to me, and also last time i took it. Cant wait to get off the stuff. When is DW's blood test- i think you said Tues??? How exciting!!
Hi to everyone else. Going to work for night shift tonight ewww. So tired. Only four more shifts to go and then on hols and then the big move. Sooo excited! I cant wait to get out of sydney and enjoy the beach. Feeling bloated and crampy and also bit sicky. So tired...
Hope everyone is well, Mel
-
Hey Rols, i forgot to say, that apparently the Crinone raises your temperature and this can have the effect of making you also feel sluggish, hence more tired!! Read in the Fertility for Dummies Book. Haaa, bought it for DH as he doesnt like to read "story" books about IVF and its actually ok reading!
-
I'm trying to stay in my little fantasy castle ;)
-
Mmm Rols I told you the other day about things tasting funny when your UTD. I'm  for you both for a great result.
Me- went to the doctor yesterday about my problem cause the nurse told me to. They think i have a urine infection so i'll find out on saturday but he put me on some meds anyway. I'm so tired just worn out i think
Hi everyone else
