Welcome back Sushee...how was your trip? I wanted to ask you about FET with blasties...do you know what the rates of success are for thawing blasties? My embryologist doesn't seem too positive but I was sure you had said Charlie was your miracle FET and that others had great success with FET blasties?

as far as i know the success rate is about 50%, but then again every clinic has different rates of success. as for your transfer question. last time my levels were correct on a wedneday and i had a day 5 blastie put in a week later (technically by the time embie was thatwed and transferred it was day 6) i know there is a 24-48 hour window with ovulation. so i guess a week after your levels are correct.

but hun it could be different for you as it sounds like you have irregular cycles. im very fortunate to have good cycles and dont need any drug support or stimulation. i just need my embie to stick and stay this time!

    good luck ellie.

hi Sushee, how was egypt? my mum and sister are doing 3 weeks in january through egypt and south africa - im so jealous, but excited for them too. its always been a dream of mums to go to South Africa..

Thank you everyone for your support. I called the nurse at 2.30 and she confirmed that there had been no change, so that's the end of that. I have slept most of the afternoon. Had one of those awful thumping headaches you get after a good cry.
I have made an appt with my FS for next Thursday so lets see if he has any answers for me.
As far as ICSI goes, I'm not sure. It had never been mentioned for us as DH's SA results were always fine, and since we had 100% fert last time I guess they thought there was no need. I think I need to do a bit of research as I don't really know that much about it. We have to try and scrape together money for another cycle as we are almost through my small inheritance that was getting us through all of this. I guess I just have to wait a week and see what my FS has to say.

Ellie, there's been some major debriefing going on over in my thread in M&L.

The short story is that we're taking a break until I get my head sorted - at the insistence of my FS. My FS won't do any further testing but refuses to do another transfer for us at the moment, and rightly so, I'm just not ready.

However, I do want my answers and my investigations so we're off to see Dr S next week to see what he has to say, and I'm off to see my GP on Monday to see what he has to say about the anxiety/depression issues and whether a trip to a psychologist is as necessary as my FS seems to think.

So... I guess I'm staying on the sidelines for a while longer.

Holly, sorry that AF arrived this morning.

Sonya - Thanks for answering all my questions! I wish I wasn't such a stress head!

Megan - So sorry hun. We made the jump from IVF to ICSI due to binding issues and have got much better results. It is definately worth investigating when you're feeling up to it.

BW - Will have to find your thread...sounds like you have a good plan in place. Will be interesting to see what Dr S has to say.

Holly - That sux...you sound amazingly positive...what a strong lady you are

A big 'HI' to everyone else!

    Hi everyone,
I am new to Belly Belly and trying to find my way around. Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong thread. DH and I have been ttc for about 4 years and am looking for any sugestions/ideas on anything that may help me fall pregnant naturally. We are in the unexplained infertiltiy category and it feels rather frustrating. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

    Hi Kerri!
Welcome to Belly Belly. You will find so much support here...so many people on a similar journey who really understand how you're feeling and the challenges you are facing. In this thread we are all travelling down the assisted conception track...IUI, IVF, ICSI...but along with that many of the girls are also using natural therapies to support their medicated cycles. Best of Luck...here's wishing you a BFP really soon

    Hi Ellie!
Thank you for the warm welcome. Much appreciated. I am still hoping to avoid the IVF journey as two of my girlfriends found it rather unpleasant. Can you recommend a better thread for me to look into?
THanks again for the friendly reception.

Welcome back Sushee - hope you had a fantastic holiday!

Rols glad to see that you and DW are going well with the injections.

HI Kerri - welcome to BB...hope you get the answers & ideas you are looking for.

I had my EPU yesterday but after reading Megan's posts I felt too guilty to go into too much detail. I feel so bad for you...I had tears in my eyes reading them, I really feel for you & DH & my thoughts are with the both of you.

Hi to everyone else...I'll have some dinner & might try & get back on a bit later

    See ya xoxo

Hi Kerri, welcome to BB We are also in the unexplained category so I know your frustration. We have gone down the IVF path due to what was explained to me as being very good success rates but we haven't had much luck so far. My recent cycle ended today after finding out the my eggs didn't fertilise so we have to start again.
Good luck, and I am sure there will be some other girls around who may be able to share their thoughts on any natural therapies they have tried. I haven't gone down that path myself as yet apart from 2 sessions of acupuncture that I have had in the last 2 weeks.

Thank you for the clarification and welcome. Much appreciated. One of my friends at work was diagnosed with blocked tubes about a year ago but fell pregnant naturally four months later and just had a baby. I believed she used some herbal remedies.

Rols and BG thank you for the welcome.

    Hi Kerri,

this thread is for those who have been trying long term, whether with assistance or not. Though most have moved on to IVF or other forms of AC, that is no barrier to you being here. In fact we're had a few graduates from this thread (like Tracey) who were trying naturally for over a year, and they were most welcomed to join in.

Yes IVF is not the easiest thing to go through, and I understand your reluctance to go down that path. As for me, after trying for 4 years ourselves, I was relieved to find something that eventually worked for us. We actually have zero possibility of falling pg naturally (I have blocked tubes) so unpleasant or not, unfortunately IVF was our only option. But by our definition, LTTTC is anything over a year, so don't feel shy about staying here.

Ellie, I actually thought thaw rates for blasts were better than for day 2 embies? I'm sure of it, in fact! As for success rates, FETs in general have slightly lower success rate than fresh cycles, but I figure if your little snowbub sruvives a thaw, then it's a fighter no matter what!

Charlie was actually from a fresh blast transfer, but I do know that some women have great success with FETs, too.

As for me, I guess you guys now know I'm back. The trip was amazing, and a contradiction. Icky and a culture shock in many ways, but awe-inspiring in others. I don't even know where to start to describe it all. But I'm glad to be home and back with you all too

I'm trying to catch up with where everyone's at, so please bear with me. Hopefully I'll be back in full swing soon.

    Hi Kerri and welcome.

Megan, I'm sorry things haven't worked out on this cycle for you and DH.

Welcome back Sushee. Have I missed something with Tracey (as in TraceyLee). She didn't get pregnant did she? I never saw that post...?

Hi to all you other lovely ladies. I'll have a more detailed read of everyone's posts later.

Wonder where Hippy Mum is at? And Sarah_H, I know you haven't gone AWOL, but how are things going for you guys? How are the injections? Any side effects?

Sonya, hope things work out better at the non-****head lab!

Megan, sounds like this cycle could be a total mystery (apart from DH's sperm quality due to illness). Look at Kotare, funny eggs one month, pregnancy the next. But as BW said, ICSI would overcome the binding issues if they think it is likely to happen again. I don't know about your clinic, but ours do this "emergency ICSI" thing that you have to give approval for where they try and get a result if things aren't happening via straight IVF.

BW, I've been reading your personal thread and I would imagine that a break from all of this would be the order of the day. There's no point running yourself into the ground when you can have a break and come back afresh. I realise this is difficult when we all become single-minded in this business.

Holly, the thing I love about you is that you bounce back twice as strong after a setback. It's just great to see and I don't know how you do it.

Ali, would be very keen to hear how you went when you feel ready.

Ellie, I hope your levels are as they should be and you aren't too worried.

Hi Nic and BG (thanks for the Tracey clarification!). Hi everyone else.
