mitf - what more can i say.....i know exactly how you feel! But we are getting back on that rollercoaster....it will work(eventually) for all of us.
Onja and Starbright -
Ladies i haven't been on for awhile and I quickly scanned through, however after dinner tonite I will read through properly and see where everyone is at and post personals.
AFM - still waiting for next month to start #2. Meanwhile I can't seem to stay out of everybody's business, I just wanna see some BFP to get all my inspiration and faith that this IVF thing really works.
Thanks StarBright definitly helps, there hasnt been anymore, just the one lot.
On another plus with me being worried I have rang the clinic and brought my BT & US forward to tomorrow morning instead of Friday as two of my kiddies are getting honour awards at thier assembly on Friday and my little two are doing an assemly item.
I live and hour and half from the clinic and there was no way I could have made it there and back in time.....so I am so pleased.
Hopefully this time tomorrow I should have 'something' to report
Well had EPU today, all went well. Was a bit anxious going in as being the first go and it has been a long time since I have had a general before. I must say everyone at MIVF at Freemasons Hospital were lovely.
The all important update - we got 5 eggs. Thought that was a little low so am a bit disappointed. However as they say, you can collect just 1 and it can work or you can collect 25 and have no success so I should not feel down about it. Also, as all my 3 US's we saw 8 follicles I guess I thought we may get more.
Have not spoken to my FS yet. We are having ICSI so that would have been done late today, so I will get the call tomorrow arvo to hear the fertilisation results. Fingers crossed we get at least 3. 1 to put back in and at least a buffer of 2 in case it does not work. Don't want to have to rush to go through this whole exp again. Not that it was terrible but of course its something I'd rather avoid!
Feeling pretty good. Bit tender and feels a bit like period pain I guess. Hurts when I cough and put pressure on the abdomin (how do you spell that!?!)
ET is booked for Friday - will find out what time tomorrow arvo too! So that's all my goss.
I have not been online for a few days and it is so hard to keep up. I have tried to update myself by a quick skim through.
Tracy - good call getting into the clinic early. Sounds like you are busy enough so its good they have been able to move your appintment to a time that suits you better. Good luck with it.
Loops - thanks for the luck - hopefully even tho it was only 5 eggs, hopefully they are good and strong!
mitf - it must be hard having to take the month off after going through so much. But it will be a gd break for your body for sure and as you say good time to catch up on things. I tell you what (not that I am an alcoholic) but I would love to have a month off for a drink! I have not had a drink since I started injections, my little theory of trying to do good by my body! And of course now if I get my I won't be drinking for a while! But that of course is a gd thing and of course if it only took giving up drinking for a while we would all be so happy!
wishes - sounds like you are going along nicely. Hope your follies keep growing away and not giving you too much bloated pain. Mind you at least you feel like something is happening! That' what I figured anyhow!
Motherhood - I think it is better to go safe and slow so it is good that they are monitoring you and that you up your dose when you need. I was a bit liek that too & tho annoying cos it takes longer, its probably better and I dunno - maybe grows better stronger follies?
Anyhow ladies - back to bed for me! Apologies to those I have missed and I hope you are all well. to all
MHIC- Grow little follies grow!
Mift- I hope you do better than me in my time off. I swore I would get healthy and lose a few kilos. It didn't happen. I think (I know) I put on a few extra. Try to enjoy the break. I know it is easier said than done.
Loops & Emerald-Thanks. Everyone is always so friendly in here.
Tracy- Glad to hear the clinic was accommodating. I love assemblies! So cute!
Nix- I think 5 is great. Oops that exactly what I did on my month off! I'm not an alcoholic either but when my first ET was cancelled. The first thing I said to doc was,
'That means I can go have a glass of mine tonight"- he was sweet. I did start with a big cry first though. GL with the results tomorrow.
Had a phone call from our nurse 4pm Monday afternoon to say everything was go go go for the EPU. Had trigger 10:30pm Monday night and EPU at 10:30am yesterday morning. Everything went well. Felt quite bloated and painful afterwards but was able to control that with heat packs and panadiene I'm back at work today and drinking water like it's going out of fashion!!!! Think I may only last till lunch time, but will see how I go. If I am going to take 3 days off after the transfer I need to catch up on some work this week.
Great news about the EPU. Had 16 eggs collected in total. Of these 15 were mature enough for fertilisation and just had a phone call to say that 12 have fertilised
Now just the wait until Saturday to see how they are growing and all going well, back down to Sydney on Monday for the transfer
Sorry about the me post but I have been offline since Monday and will have to read through your posts and catch up with some perssies later.
Well done on your EPU - that is such a great result. You and I are about 2.5 hours apart! My EPU was at 8am yesterday! Going by the way I feel (which is not too bad but a bit tender) I can only imagine you are feeling a bit of pain given you had a a greater collection (I assume that more would mean more pain!)
I see in your signature this looks like your 1st IVF and you are doing ICSI as well. I'm interested to compare our meds if you don't mind? I was on gonal injections, can't remember when I started but I was on 150 then they up'd me to 225 after my first US. I think being first time they were quite conservative. My US showed about 8 follies and on Monday there were 2 at 22mm and the rest were about 14mm - 17mm
I have my day 2 transfer tomorrow - souds like you are going to blastie stage - seems a lot of people do that. I asked about it at MIVF and they do more 2 day transfer whereas Monash IVF in Melb do a lot of blastie and there is differing thoughts for both. Figure I just have to go with what they think is best and hope for the right outcome.
Anyhow - good luck to you! I'll be keeping an eye out for your progress as we go through the 2WW together no doubt!
Nix - well done on the 5 eggs. Remember quality not qantity, which is what someone said to me! Only takes one!
All the best, hoping they grow nicely. GL with transfer.
Cass - WOW that is a lot - despite probably being in a bit of pain, you have to be happy with that. Hoping yours grow nicely too and all the best for your transfer.
Star- Bright - no worries. Hope you are not in here long that you go into the pregnancy threads. GL
Emerald Star - hi, hope you're hanging in there.
AFM - I agree, when receiving BFN, the best thing is to drink some grog. Im a bit of a drinker but I know once I am pg I wont be drinking any. Im looking forward to my FS appointment on 10th to see where to go from here.
Hello im new to this forum, my husband and i have been ttc for 30 months now we already have a daughter, and had our first appointment with the FS all went well she was lovely, gave us referral for ultrasounds and sperm tests, blood tests and i have to have a tubal thing to check if there block im sure u guys the proper name for it i cant remember it lol
i do have pcos, ive tried the metformin but it made me really sick so i had to stop that,
she wants me to go on a low gi diet im overweight and start doing some exercises , my period isnt regular so loosing weight might help out there, we go back to see her in november (she is away in october) and see where we are at then.
im excited we finally got the ball rolling and doing something about it.
Welcome and GL Pink bubba I hope all goes well for you
Cass sounds like all is going great for you
AFM- I had my first BT & US this morning, as posted earlier I was meant to go in tomorrow but changed it for today, then when I rang for results I had an arguement with the nurse ( a different one of course) who insisted I have to go in tomorrow for more BT.
The clinic is 1 and half hours away and I have to leave home before 6 I told her no as I have something important on, I think its important, so she got all huffy with me & told I must go in Sat for BT & US, which is fine and then daily BT's til EPU. All fine.
OK as for today results my eostrogen lever is 1100 can anyone tell me if thats good or bad? And I had 5 follies a 15, 10 & 8 on my left ovary and 11 & 12 on my right. Its only day 8 for me.
This being my first cycle it doesnt tell me too much so if anyone could help me with wether thats good at this stage or not I would appreciate your input TIA
Hey all... looks like some good progress in last few days
I didn't have OHSS which is good - just sooo weirdly bloated and errr constipated
Out of my 17 - 10 were mature, 7 fertilised and 6 biopsied ok... now just waiting to see if any carry the gene we are screening for and then Booh-yah in it goes.
As you said NIX - you can have 17 but then lose more than half. You just never know huh?
Such good vibes here - and I am not looking at any of the results as good or bad just 'the story of this part of the road trip'
The best stories always have a bit of drama, a few laughs, a few tears and plenty of hijinx
Have to do my Crimone cream tonight... any err feedback/suggestions?
Pinkbubba welcome. Good on you for taking the 1st step to see your FS. Even tho she is away for a while sounds like she has given you some good advice and some challenges so at least you can get started with that until she is back. Good luck with it all!
Tracy - sounds pretty good. At least they seem to be all a consistent size. I can't remember what day I was when mine were about that size but I think from there they up'd my dose of gonal to 225 (from 150) and they blossomed over the next few days to 22 and my EPU was 2 days later. It's interesting you are getting BT's done and hormone levels checked - I notice a lot of you get BT's. The only BT I will have is after my 2ww - I asked today thinking maybe I had lots of BT's coming up. But apparently after my ET tomorrow there is nothing until 2 weeks later - my god it is going to be soooo hard waiting that long.
Onja - I assume I start crinone tomorrow night. I have ET tomorrow arvo and as this is my first IVF cycle I am not 100% sure of the process. I'll be interested to read any feedback you get to your question of course! Surely tho it has to be one of the easier meds in this whole process!!!
AFM - found out today that 3 eggs fertilised. It was on a v'mail so I didn't get to ask any questions but will do so tomorrow at ET. Bit dissapointed, but when I heard it was only 5 eggs, I said I would be happy with at least 3 fert. Just seems like such a small number in case this first emby doesn't stick.
Hi to all the other lovelies out there! Hope you are all having a good evening!
Am back in cycle mode after a month off. Have been following the thread but have just been lurking.
Nix76 - 3 is good, you still have 2 back ups. Yes, the 2WW is excrutiating, but you do get thru it. The crinone is pretty uneventful except my bb's were massive and very tender. Good luck with your ET tomorrow.
Onja - Good luck for your transfer too. I too had bad constipation after EPU and tried many things, however found All Bran Dual (in the blue Packet) to work a treat
Tracy - Sound like you are travelling well. My levels were very high and up to 15,000 about 2 days prior to EPU, but I did not get OHSS and was able to continue with ET. good luck with your BT on Sat.
Pinkbubba - Welcome. It is a great feeling to finally have a path to go down. Sounds like you are going for a hy-co-sy? Good luck with your tests. At least they will provide a bit of a distraction while you wait for your next appointment and you will be armed with loads more info.
Loops - Good luck with your appointment on the 10th. I am going to try and sneak in a red tonight before my cycle gears into action. I'm not much of a drinker, but don't mind the odd drop and hopefully this will be the last one for 9 months!
Cassl80 - what a wonderful result. I hope you are starting to feel a little better. Hope you spoil yourself rotten on your 3 day break.
Emerald Star - great to see you are still lurking. After having just had to have a month off myself, where nothing is happening, I know what it's like to be waiting, waiting, waiting. It will go faster than you imagined.
Mitf - I hope your weekend away rejuvenates you. You will get there!!!!
Wishes - how did your U/S go today? I think the more knowledge you have regarding your own body, the better and knowing the ins and outs lets you compare apples with apples.
Starbright - Good luck for Monday.
Motherhood here I come - Good luck tomorrow. DH's... gotta love their black/white take on things sometimes. I suppose it is very hard for them to feel the same as us as they don't physically feel it and aren't constantly checking and looking for signs etc.
Juniper -
Vera - hope you are doing well.
Sorry to anyone I have missed.
AFM - Have started taking estregen today in preparation for my first FET cycle. BT & U/S are on the 9th, so fingers crossed all goes well, so it's another 2WW for me (of sorts)
Lots happening in here at the moment. Can't chat long, as I have more studying to do for an exam tomorrow. So will try and be brief.
Nix - great news on the 5 eggs with 3 fertilising. And I know it is such a cliche but you really do only need one to work. Good luck for ET tomorrow.
Cass - 16 eggs is a great result. And 12 fertilising is fantastic. Good luck for ET next week.
Pinkbubba - Welcome. Hope things go smoothly for you when you get started.
Tracy - great scan results. Your E2 (estrogen) at 1100 is really good. And it could indicate really good quality eggs too. Every girl is different with how they respond to the medications, and I know that it's difficult for the first cycle because you have nothing to compare to. All sounding very good though.
Onja - good results for you so far too. Hope the PGD screening goes well, and you get a little embie or two transferred back soon.
AFM - Had my second U/S scan and BT this morning. Scan looking really good at the moment. My uterus lining is 6.5mm which is better than I expected (I was thinking 6mm). So I'm convinced that by Monday next week, it will be up around the recommended 8mm. We measured 11 follies ranging between 10 - 14mm, and also accounted for another 10 follies under 10mm (so who knows, some of them could keep growing too). I will be back at the clinic for another U/S and BT on Monday 31st Aug, and at this stage, EPU is still set for Friday 4th Sept.
Got the call from my clinic this arvo and was told that my E2 today is 2186!! Much higher than I expected, given that only 2 days ago, it was 718. Am excited with that level, but also not wanting OHSS, so fingers crossed (never had OHSS before, but not really wanting to find out what it's like either).
So because I now have follies at 14mm, I will be starting Cetrotide injections from tonight to stop ovulation from happening. That means I'll be doing gonal-f injections and Cetrotide every night for about 6 nights I think. Don't you just love all these needles....not. I felt like a complete pin-cushion today, having BT this morning, then had acupuncture this arvo. Did my gonal-f injection at 7pm, and now just waiting until 10pm to do my Cetrotide injection. AARRGGHH!!!
Anyway, that's it for me, I'm off to study. Will check in again with you girls soon.
wow wishes thats a huge number of follies sounds like all is going extremely well, why are they putting EPU off for so long? What CD are you now? I would have thought if you had such good follies now that they would want to take them sooner
Sorry so many ?? Im just trying to learn about what goes on and why
Cass & Nix- Looking forward to sharing the 2WW with you both.
Cass- Great results. I hope you start to feel better soon.
Nix- You made your target of 3! they all keep growing nicely.
Loops- I hope the 10th comes around quickly for you.
pinkbubba- Welcome! Who knows, you may just get a natural surprise while you wait.
Tracy- I didn't record my levels . i wish I did. It sounds good to me though.
I had lots of follies too. In regards to the question to wishes, I think they go slower with lots of follies to avoid OHSS.
Onja- I like your positive attitude. Hopefully I can catch some. All the best for your testing. When does your ET happen?
Tantee- Welcome back to cycle. This is my first FET too. My cycle has been natural (drug free). However, I'm not sure if I trust my body.
AFM- I have been having some panic attacks in anticipation of ET. I'm trying to keep calm and relaxed, but it is easier said than done. I'm actually looking forward to my acupuncture sessions, before and after transfer.
Have just experienced my first US and thrid BT this morning. All this not feeling something has been ok. Was worried however seeing the US this morning I know that there is something going on in there.
From memory there was 18 all up. Not sure on the official other stuff at the moment am waiting on the phone call later with all of that stuff. Once I do know, will post the details tonight.
What a relief I suppose. Fingers crossed that the phone call from the Nurse with the results assists the relief to continue ). Have been quite worried because tonight will be the 7th night of FSH Puregon Injections and as yet, I havent felt anything at all. Only thing is that I have a constant dull ache in my head but Im managing that with plenty of water.
Hmmm, best be off but my fingers are crossed and I'm for good news this afternoon as to my progress so far.
Sorry for no personals, will do that this evening when Im back online. Best of Luck to everyone though. I honestly and sincerely hope everything is going great for you all in your own special ways.
