Afm, sorry for another quick one today. I promise I'll have more time one day... Day 2 of stims here and EPU is expected to be 14/12. We're then hoping to make it to a 5dt on 19/12. First scan is on Tuesday...

    Hi everyone,

i had my egg collection yesterday morning & got our best number of eggs yet, 13!! The most we've had previously was 7. The clinic rang this morning that 11 had fertalised over night. We grow ours to 5 day blastys so our embryologist will call again on Friday with a progress report. I'm feeling quite sore & bloated so have been drinking plenty of water & taking panadol.

    Good luck to us all!

    Hi girls

Rob and MHIC - congratulations! This thread has been so inspiring to me, when I was so scared to be moving to this thread.

Em Star - I am sending lots of sticky vibes and baby dust to you. I hope that your little embie is the one.

littlemissmoo - congratulations on your numbers, FX you get good news from the embryologist on Friday.

Good luck for everyone else waiting for results or starting a cycle or wherever you are in your cycle.

AFM - I am still waiting to speak with FS to find out the next step for us. I was told to call Monday, but it seems she's not in the clinic on Mondays (?) so I have left a message for her to call when she is in on Thursday. It doesn't really matter I guess, given I am still taking OCP until Sunday night and will probably get AF on Wednesday. That will be 9/12. I don't know 100% the timing for an IVF cycle but I figure that would make the EPU (if I was to start stim this month) about Christmas which isn't really a happy thought. Although the changes to the safety net will probably double our OOP costs, I think I would rather wait until January than have an emotional rollercoaster over Christmas.

Hey Emstar, just wondering how your transfer went today. I am thinking of you.

Terry - I sent you a shout out in another thread. Good luck for your BT tomorrow! Look forward to your post tomorrow.

AFM, my transfer went well - actually better than we could have hoped. We had not one blastie but 6! I actually cried happy tears when the lab told me. We had two put back in, and by the time of transfer one of the blasties had started hatching! So fingers crossed, hey? Two weeks till BT.

    Hi all,

I hade to start my drugs today I HATE NEEDLES!! So had my first pregnyl 1500 & claxine (for clotting disorder) & twice daily crinone. Don't know if any of you have ever had to do the claxine but they are darn painful I swear the needles are so blunt! Not sure how long I have to continue them for, it's a daily injection but my FS will instruct me when we do our transfer.

EMSTAR = Hope the transfer all went well for you

Juniper76 - Good luck with the drugs, hope things are travelling along nicely for you

Brunette - Great result on your end numbers

LittleMiss - I totally hear you about how painful Clexane injections are. I posted a comment in a different forum about it recently. They are sooooo blunt, hey? And man do they hurt. I've done FSH injections and they are a walk in the park comparatively speaking.

I starting taking Clexane last Saturday - daily injections like you. They leave a bright red round bruise where I've pushed the needle into my stomach. A few days ago, though, I must have pushed too hard and too quick and oh my god the pain and you should see the bruising! I don't know how long I need to be on them either, but next time I see my FS I am going to ask about other brands to see if their needles might be sharper

The brand I'm using is Clexane. What are you using? Do any other ladies use a different brand, perhaps with finer needles?

    Hi Ladies,
Just a quick one again today.....as you all know i only had 1 left...by day 2 transfer it was a Grade A 6 cell embie (normally day 2 they are 2 -4 cells) that we put back...still bummed that i never get any to freeze in any of my attempts....i hope this one sticks..but i don't feel confident with day 2 or day 3 transfers....research shows that blasties have approx. 20% more chance of success...at my age i need all the percentages i can get....i have made an appointment with FS for IVF #4 early January 2010..here's hoping i don't need it...

Emerald star - GL with your 2ww! Fingers and toes crossed for you hunny!

J76 - hope things are going well for you, no xmas drinks for you this year

Brunette & littlemissmoo - I also have to take Clexane in my stim cycles and I hear you - so painful! I also bruise really easily normally so doing up to 50 injections (yep, I counted!) per cycle was horrendous. My tips are try to relax, put on some music for background noise, a few deep breaths and then breathe out and wiggle your toes while you insert the needle. Helps keep you distracted! Also remember not to rub the injection site afterwards as that makes it bruise more, so do your FSH injections first.

I am going insane in my 2ww, 4 sleeps til BT and I really want to POAS. Badly. Am 10 days post transfer of a blastie.... Argh! Give me some willpower not to POAS!!

EmStar - Excellent news on your transfer. Sounds like you've got a good-quality embie there. Don't give up yet! Let's hope you can soon cancel that FS appointment for next year, hey? I know what you mean about higher odds with blasties v earlier transfers but I would take heart from one of the ladies on this site who is currently pregnant. I think I read she had a day 2/3 3-cell and 4-cell (with fragmentation) transferred. And you've got yourself a top-of-the-line embie

Trubabe - good luck for your cycle.

Mrs P - Thanks for your tips. I will try wiggling the toes this morning LOL! I have taken Clexane injections for 6 days now and I can see the various success or otherwise of my needles. Yesterday was the best yet, and I think I now have a system - breathe out, slowly and gently insert the needle, and as little pressure as possible! You say you're 10days post blastie transfer. When is your BT? I am only 2 days post blast. Aaaaagh!

    Hi all

EmStar - will have F and TX that this one sticks and you can cancel the appointment in Jan. Sounds like a very good quality embie. If it doesnt eventuate then we will be doing an IVF cycle together again. I hope it happens this time for you though GL in TWW

Littlemiss and Brunette ~ GL with the Clexane - sounds yuk! All the best with your cycles!!

MrsP ~ Stay away from the POAS!! All the best, hoping you get your BFP!! FX

GL to everyone waiting, jabbing etc

AFM ~ In a natural TWW, just finished o'ing. We have been on some tablets for the last month from my uncle who is a naturopath so hopefully they will have helped us already and we might have better chances! FX

Brunette & Miss P - It is the claxine brand that i've been prescribed, I think it must be the only one available as I remember asking my FS if there was any others I could take & the answer was no! I'm hoping I won't have to do them for too long, I think from memory I done them for a week last time. Also, I had to have a C/Section for my daughter & I only had to have them whilst I was in hospital which was 5 days.

I was trying to do my needle this morning whilst Abbey slept & half way through there was a knock on the door, my parents in law, so there I was answering the door with a needle hanging half way out my stomach!!

The clinic rang this morning to advise that of the 11 that had fertalised, we now have 8 looking good. As I mentioned this is our best result yet, so I hope we a few for the freezer. Hope you're all keeping as sane as possible!!

    Good Luck xxx

I'm back with 1 on board!

    Hi Ladies,

It has been an awfully long time since I posted, I have popped in to check on a few of you now and then. Emerald - love your wall of fame and you can add me to the - My BT is on 18/12/09 - FX for a great Xmas pressie! I see you are BT 2 days earlier - FX for you too.
I've just completed another down reg cycle, from about 9 follies all about 22mm (2 days prior to ET) we got 7 eggs (ET was on Wednesday) 5 fert, 1 back today and hopefully the 4 for freeze. So I am pretty happy.

My FS said the emby we put back today was "as good as it gets" and this being my 3rd transfer and the first time he actually did it - I am hoping he brings me some good luck! (he has been unavail the last 2 times)

I tell you tho - I am in a lot of pain this time round. Was very bloated and sore before EPU and bit tender yesterday but even worse today. Nurse says maybe a mild case of OHSS - I tell you I feel sorry for the ladies that have more than 10 eggs - and full blown OHSS. I just can not imagine the pain. I can barely walk and don;t ask me about what it feels like to cough or sneeze. Whooaaa

I see a few newbies in here - to you all... nice to meet you! I won't say welcome cos a few of you have been in here way more than me of late so I feel more like the newbie! I hope your time here is short - you know what I mean!

So this is just a quick post to update on where I am at. I will lurk around and try keep up - but good luck to all of you for whereever you are at!
