    Hi Everyone,

Lani - GL with transfer today. I'll be sending positive vibes through to you.

Bella - take it slow until yor EPU. Hope the trigger didn't sting too much.

CP77 - have you considered or tried Chinese Herbs and Acupuncture. It has done so much for my cycle, I would definately recommend it as one of the best alternative therapies to assist fertility. My hubby goes too.

JBM - it's such a difficult decision. I have found that people who aren't going through it just don't appreciate that. You guys will make the decision that best suits you.

    Emmapenguin - for you.

Twomums - I hope Petrie and Pipette are behaving themselves for Kim. Thinking of you both.

Mollygirl - My stomach is finally starting to ease off. I haven't been able to wear my jeans or any tight tops for a while. That gas is horrible.

Jaxi - I'll be doing my first FET around the same time you resume your next IVF. Looking forward to swapping notes. We are off to Tasmania over easter to visit my mum, which will force us to relax - a good thing!

    For everyone else a big

    Hi Everyone,

Just popping over from the dreaded TWW.

2mums - Interesting names maybe thats what I can do to take my mind off the time ha ha. When is your BT booked for by the way?

WLB - How is your tww going. I have DS home sick so that's keeping me ammused, we have done some craft and he does mecanno while I lay down.

JBM - It will all work out I promise you will see (well taht's what I keep telling myself too

MH - I had 23 eggs but didn't get the bloating which is good for me but terrible for you. Warm baths or showers can help also don't lay down for too long. Just get up and walk around a little bit that just helps to keep everything working but no marathons ok! Oh nice av by the way.

CP77 - Sorry about your cancelled cycle, nothing worse than the build up and then cancelling. At least you still have you embies frozen. Can the Fs can fix your OV???

Bella - Good luck with the trigger ... remeber the ice brick someone mentioned before and GL with your epu

Well I hope everyone is doing well where ever you are with your cycle and let's all for lots of BFP's.

and lots of and hmmm and where is that anyway???

Bella, GL for your EPU on Friday, hope it goes well and look forward to hearing your news. Are you doing a day 3 or blastie ET?

At work so keeping this one short

Mindhugs, looking forward to having a cycle buddy!!!

BabyDreamtime, wishing you all the best for your Sat scan. Hope those follicles are doing their thing to the best of their ability.

AF has arrived for me...SUPER light. Not really sure what to expect. I've had 3 days of super light now and am ready for her to arrive in all her glory. I'm told to expect a longer than normal cycle now. If my normal cycle is around 31 days what sort of length should I be expecting now after going through the stim cycle? I'll have to pull out the OPKs and try things the ol fashioned way this cycle but not even sure when to start testing for O!?

    Hi all!

Been a little AWOL as per usual. Don't have too long on here but thought I'd pop in and say hi.

Good luck to our two twinnies! Love the nicknames too. I'll be thinking of you both and for you and everyone on your 2ww. I asked my FS would he put back 2 when my time came and got a flat out "NO". He does not do it at all unless under extenuating circumstances

Emma: never believe those naughty little POAS! I know so many people who have been tricked by them, both neg and pos. But I seriously hope it is all good news for you!

Quote for the day for those lovely ladies waiting for/dealing with the dreaded AF -
"I have PMS and a handgun... any questions???"

Have had some interesting chats RE the whole Safety Net thing, and have found about half a dozen people come out of the woodwork that I never knew were doing IVF. It has been some great support, and two of them have had success, one has 3 IVF babies and the other has just fallen preg with #2. So it goes to show it CAN be done. Somewhere somehow we will all get our dream.

To everyone else, thinking of you all and wishing you whatever stage you are at.

AFM still pill popping, day 13, start sniffing on Tues and see how we go from there. Have already begun apologising to DH for the impending mood swings. Just got our bill for the impending 1st cycle yesterday. Almost had to resuscitate hubby. He's told his work what is going on, they've been great, will let him have time off for procedures etc.

Me still jobless and trying to think of a good excuse to explain to potential employers why I am wanting to go from a high pressure full-time "career" to a casual part-time minimum responsibility day job without having to tell them the REAL reason...

Can anyone give any good advice? Also wanting to know, FS seems to think I may OHSS the first couple of times. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? If so, when should I start?

Hope everyone is good. See you all again soon!

    Hi BOC,

    Hope this can help hun

Some things can be done to prevent OHSS.

    • Eat a high protein diet throughout the IVF treatment, especially during the few weeks after egg pickup. Patients in hospital are treated with protein drips in an effort to neutralise the effect of the leaking hormones on the body, however patients at home could try drinking Sustagen for a similar effect.
    • Drink three litres of water a day to help prevent dehydration. I personally don't drink water it can muck up your electrlytes so try to drink gatorade or pwerade etc
    • ENSURE that your IVF Specialist closely monitors you while on FSH treatments. Even if you are concerned about looking disrespectful or rude, insist that your doctor closely monitor the growth of follicles via ultrasound during FSH treatment. As a patient diagnosed with PCOS, they should be checking you every few days to help avoid OHSS.
It might mean abandoning treatment mid-cycle, but that is preferable to hospitalisation and the risks of OHSS.
For more information, there is a good fact sheet on OHSS at:

    http://www.child.org.uk/html/malta.php/factsheets/60/

There is also further info here Severe OHSS: Yes, there is a strategy to prevent it! -- Kol and Itskovitz-Eldor 15 (11): 2266 -- Human Reproduction

Good luck to you and hubby xxx

Boc - i dont get OHSS but i do have very senisitive ovaries. I still have pains from teh EPU and just after my transfer i got very faint and wobbly and the nurses said it was a combination of dehydration and not enough protein. They advised me to drink 3litres of fluid a day and have a couple of protein shakes a day. i use isowhey but i find it doesn't mix as well as sustagen (which is also cheaper). Hope that helps.

I also feel for you re safety net. Because i am a pom, i only get necessary health cover and therefore medicare doesn't cover my ivf treatment. we only found this out after we had already paid! Not that i would have done it differently, probably would have gone somewhere cheaper though!!

BDT: Yes it is my BT tomorrow. Am scared sh**less. One part of me just wants it to be over and the other part doesn't want to deal if there is disapointment. Ho hum, nothing i can do now....! Good luck for your scan Sat.

Lani - hope ET was a good one!
    Bella - good luck tomorrow.
Mindhugs - liking the new avi

To everyone else, big hugs and
