Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Hi Ladies, Happy Saturday to all wishing everyone a wonderful weekend
Joski - I am so very sorry to hear your body is still not behaving itself you must be super frustrated. Gosh I really do hope you get some good news soon
Afm - my estrogen level was 708 yesterday had another bt this morning FN said to expect to trigger on Monday night. Happening earlier than I expected but that ok the timimg should work our well as transfer should be end of next week. Im still super moody and irritable poor DH hehe
Wishing everyone a really lovely weekend, thinking of you all and sending loads of love. Big hugs x
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Yay for triggering on Monday positively - that's super exciting! I'm excited for you!! And great timing that your transfer will be on the weekend? Or just before the weekend? I think you said you were transferring a day 3? As for the moodiness, yeah that bit is nasty! But its normal... I've been screaming at my children all week I know my DH is happy to be overseas (he hates the 2ww with anpassion and I cant blame him).
Don't stress, it will be better after the transfer when you actually feel like you have a reason to be moody after all you'll be PUPO!

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Woo hoo Juniper welcome back! You have been missed
I cannot believe how quiet is in here and in the 2ww thread.. How is everyone going? Any news Joski? I've been thinking of you, hoping something happened so that you could BD to your hearts content over the weekend. I will say with DS 4.5 (who was conceived straight after a mc) we were O tracking and nothing was happening.. My DH had a last minute trip OS for work and I was furious because we'd been tracking and he left 3 days before O was detected! Anyhow, we BD'ed up until the morning he went away (sorry TMI) but something must have gone right - because I got my natural bfp that month and he's here, alive and kicking. And I thought that cycle was a write-off, so morale of that story is even if O hasn't been detected , you never know when it will be, so I would be BDing as much as possible in the lead up? Which is sometimes hard when your mind is elsewhere... But who knows? It only takes one sperm to be waiting when that egg is finally released! The other thing I was going to say - which I hope is okay (I don't want to cause you any upset or stress) but could it be anovulatory cycle?
Hello to anyone else who is here - either posting or stalking (we have to keep the stalkers happy ) xx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
3rdTL, I couldn't reply the other day when you posted, but I was so shocked by what happened to your son in the car! I hope he's none the worse for wear now, but what a dreadful experience for you both! I'm so glad those other ladies were there to help and you've got me wondering if we have the right "tools" in our car...
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Lovely Ladies I really need some advise. I can either do 5 or 6 iui's which I fell pg with number 5 last year which costs about $630 for an iui with rebate only $74 or
I could save and have enough by October and do 1 ivf. I don't know what to do as I fell pg with iui and I'm terrified of spending all that money and not falling pg with ivf
cause I would only have enough money for 1 ivf. I'm thinking at least with 6 iui's I would have a better chance?? please help I really need some advise. Thanking you all
in advance xxxxx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Rai, where are you located? Is there one of the low-cost IVF clinics in your city? Those work out about the same as 2 of your IUI's for the first cycle and less for any subsequent ones in the same year. They're great if you meet their eligibility criteria (which I don't)...
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Hey 1more - I'm with juniper! If you have access to one of the lower- cost IVF clinics I would probably go with that option, but I agree it's really difficult to make that decision! Good luck with doing what's right for you.
Thanks juniper for the re the seatbelt drama... It feel like it happened a life time ago! Xx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Sorry 1more, I also meant to say - think I would also make the decision in IUi v IVF, if you must decide on one path to go down, based on what is the predominant cause of your inability to fall pg naturally? Eg - if your body is functioning well but your DH has MFI, then perhaps IVF would work better for you? (NB: I'm using this as a hypothetical example only, and this is a point that TT40 raised recently regarding something slightly different - but I think she made an excellent point! I think if I was in your situation, I would base my decision on wherther to do IUi or iVF depending on the reasons for my inability to conceive naturally).
Eg - my DH is perfect (from a reproductive system perspective anyway, no one is perfect ) but I lost my left ovary when I was 27 weeks pregnant with DS 4.5. And further investigation showed I only ovulated on one side (left tube is completely blocked with fluid) right side I'm told is apparently normal. I have PCOS and Andomyosis (which is basically endo but inside your uterus - I had a D&C to scrape this out about 3 months ago). Hence I put our inability to fall pg down to me, and not his sperm. As a result of that I think IUI would be a waste of time for us, mainly because we did a whole year of cycle tracking by BT's so I know that for 12 months we were BDing at the perfect time but noing was happening! So I am assuming that IUI is similar in the sense they track you for ovulation and then 'inject' the sperm into you when ovulation is detected?
So I don't know if this helps or not in making your decision but if it was me, I would prob make the decision based on our reasons for infertility and my age/ or how much time I felt as though I had up my sleeve - in terms of whether the 6 possible cycles of IUI was an issue or not (I hope that makes sense?) from a time perspective. I know time wise it's hard to compare - depending on whether your FS feels as though you would have more succes with IVF vs IUI? I know there are no guarantees with IVF and sometimes it also takes a long time to fall pg.
Whatever you decide 1 more - I am sureit will be the right choice for you and your DH. I wanted to come back and remind of the excellent point TT40 raised not long ago, about our individual reasons for needing assistance in conceiving! I think sometimes on the IVF roller coaster it's to start comparing yourself to everyone else - when it comes to things like symptoms, number of cycles, number eggs collected and fertilized etc (I know in the past I was always doing this to try and gauge my chance for success, alongside women who had got their bfp) however, very rarely did I ever compare my reasons for infertility to theirs - and I think this is probably one of the more worthwhile factors, to compare.
Also, on reading back - I felt as though I didn't really explain my previous comment very well, and hence it wasn't as supportive as it could have been so I wanted to come back and answer your question with the time and attention it deserves. I would also ask my FS - what he or she would do if they were in my shoes - eg) - had a budget and a timeframe, and knowing what the isssues surrounding your infertility are, whether they would opt for IUI or IVF. I think this is relevant because often FS's say okay let's do IUI first.... Assuming that if you don't have success after a certain period of time, that you will move on to IVF. I think if you have a budget your working within - that you should def tell your FS so that they understand you want/ need to chose one course of action, rather than being able to move from one treatment onto the other - this may I influence which path they steer you towards?
Anyway, sorry for the long post!! I have everything crossed for you - that whichever course of action you go for - you get your bfp happy ending.
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Hi guys,
I just wanted to thank you all for your support since I started this cycle. I am 6dp5dt today and hence I have decided to test late today - as this is the same day in my cycle that I tested with the twins, and got my bfp.
I think 6dpt is the earliest that you are supposed to be able to get a result.... So if I get a neg today, I won't be devastated - YET - as I know that I could be too early... But in the back of my mind,i also feel like if it has worked, I should be able to get a result later this afternoon (apparently the key is to make sure you don't wee for 3 hours before testing - I asked the coordinator at my clinic and she said if I want to test before BT and I don't use FMU, then I should make sure I don't wee for at least 3 hours before POAS)...
Joski - have you had any more updates on O? I have everything crossed that on your next BT you get the green light to 'go for gold' (as my DH would say).
1 more - sorry about the ridiculously long previous post! I hope you and DH are able to make a decision that you are both happy with.
Juniper - I'm so glad you are back, and thank you for keeping the list up to date! I admit I was wondering if you were okay, and when you would be coming back!
Positively - so excited you are triggering tonight!! Woo hoo! I'm not sure when your transfer is, but I am thinking we may just miss each other in the 2ww (my BT is on Thursday), but irrespective of the result, I promise I will hang around in the 2ww thread to support you (it's so quiet in there at the moment and I have really appreciated the company of the ladies who have hung around to support and share my journey, even though they have finished their 2 WW).
Amy_jb I know you haven't been in here, but I'm sure you will be back, and I'm not sure if you are stalking - but I just wanted to say thank you for all your love and support. You are such a wonderful friend and having you at the other end of the phone to talk to when I've needed it, and your daily texts of support have been so deeply appreciated. Thanks for just being an amazing BB and IRL friend... This 2ww window hasn't been the same on BB without you
Have a great day everyone! I hope that when I come back this afternoon, thatni come back with happy and not sad news....
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
TTL and Juniper thank you so much for your reply. TTL your so funny and I appreciate the long reply, there is nothing wrong with either of us its unexplained I'm using dh's frozen sperm
which was a good sample and thaws well. The only thing is probably my age (40) and my weight, i cant change places concerning ivf which also bugs me. The reason I'm worried is that i will go into early menopause as all my family has which means i have about 2 years left but i have decided if i cant fall pg by Christmas I'm walking away, the way I'm thinking is iui gives me 6 or 7 tries to fall pg where ivf i will only get one chance which freaks me out a bit. I'm so confused i wish a fairy would come down and say that's what you should do lol.
I have everything crossed you get your BFP i will keep checking in later today for your post, GOOD LUCK xxxx
Jonski How is everything? really hope your body is starting to cooperate and do the right thing and O for you, When is your next BT?

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
TTL, thinking of you this arvo and really keeping fingers and toes crossed.
1moreplease, sounds so tough, that pressure is horrible. I am 37 and my AMH was 1.3 last year with both ovaries now having undergone surgery. It is not the same as early menopause threat, but similar - not many eggs. Anyway, you never know. Hugs.
Pos, have you triggered yet?
Anyway, I will not post too much in here again. Just wanted to say I am always thinking of you ladies and following you in here.
AFM, things still on board, but still v early. Another BT on Wednesday. In case anyone wanted the info for the list, my hcG was 148 on 12dpo. So I am hoping to see good doubling times on Wednesday's test.
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Worrywort fantastic numbers you must be happy with them, make sure you let us know how Wednesday's blood test went I'm sure everything is fine and you have a very
uneventful 9 months but it will be nice to see how your going. How are you feeling? xxxx
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception February/March 2014
Hi Ladies, hope you have all had a lovely Monday
I more please - I have to say I agree with TTL and her suggestion to chat to your FS and see what they would do if they were in your position and if you are happy with his suggestion go for it. I do see your thinking about having the 6 IUI improving your chances of a BFP but don't think it is always that simple sadly. We did 3 IUI's and for whatever reason that didn't work. Don't you just hate the unexplained infertility its nice to know that DH & I are all fine no issues but it just doesn't explain why we are not falling pregnant.
Joski - how are you going, have been thinking about you hope you get some good news re O'ing just keep bd as TTL says you just never know if you hit the spot timing wise
WW - so nice to see you still popping in to say Hi, hope you are well hun and enjoying your BFP!
TTL - I do so love your long posts, very informative and interesting, thanks!! can't wait to hear how your test went, FX hun x
Juniper & Miss B - hope you are both coming to terms with your BFN I always fine it takes me a good week to get over the heart break. Onwards and upwards though wishing you every success for the next cycle x
AFM - So had another bt this morning and a scan, lining was 8mm, Estrogen 1300 and LH 47....the FN said that is textbook and they couldn't ask for anything better so I am really pleased with that. Triggering tonight at 8pm, a booster on Friday night at 8pm and then transfer is booked for Saturday so very excited really looking forwarded to getting our little embie onboard now and boy is it going to be good to stop the gonal f I am really over the moods
Ok Ladies I must get going almost time to start looking at dinner im not a cook DH is but he is working so it's up to me today
Love & light, wishing you all a good night sleep too. Baby dust to all xx
