Vic glad to hear all the checks on everything came back good, hope that helps you with working through the pain of it. Good luck at the gym, weight loss is a hard painful road, I know all to well since I am on it ATM. There is a thread n2l started if you want to join us, I don't know how to put the thread link inherent but if you search for 'getting buff to get up the duff' that's where we are :-)

    Hi ladies,

Mrs Mac, GL for your FS app. tomorrow. Ask about the new slow release FSH cycle I get excited too when I go to see my FS (except last time when I was a bit nervous )

Vic, I agree on doing a stim cycle hun. That way you'll get eggs at your current age, and not older eggs if you wait to do a stim. And then hopefully you'll have a few more frosties up your sleeve . Sorry to hear that there was nothing wrong with the little one, I guess when you have a reason like a chromosomal abnormality, it's sometimes easier to accept. It just seems such a waste when there was nothing wrong with the embie

Andy, GL with the biopsy and the pipelle hun

me4ever, yay for finding the perfect dress!! And GL in your natural cycle hun

n2l, what exactly does the CoQ10 do? Just curious before I look into it....

Kerbear, good to hear from you hun. I wish you all the best in your next cycle

    Hello to everyone else

AFM, I am getting somewhere with my OH. I have asked if we can do a cycle in September and possibly one in November if the September one doesn't work and he agreed. I really want to squeeze 2 more this year as I don't think I will be doing any more next year. So yay!!! Now I have a dilema as I have to decide whether to do more acu sessions and the chinese herbs, I'm just really not sure if the 3 months of intense acu sessions before the last cycle really helped. I didn't end up with any good eggs/embryos. And advice on that ladies?

Missb - I too will be only doing IVF for the rest of this year. I turn 42 in January and figure if its not happened by then, it will never happen. I feel I need a deadline to be able to move on. So I figure 1 more stim, use up the frosties then shut the door and move on. For me I found the acupunture didn't help me either and it was so expensive so I stopped doing it.

N2L - I hope you have recovered from the biopsy. With mine, I felt fine the next day and the bleeding had stopped. I am praying that with all the new things that your trying this will be your month!!!

AFM - I am starting to feel better about things. I know that if bubs wasn't right it was better to have the decision made for us, however much it hurt. They didn't test the embryo itself only tissue surrounding it. Country hospital and no technology I guess. Still I was very happy with the treatment I received. My dr came in multiple times to check on me. We have decided that if the baby thing doesn't pan out we will be in for a big lifestyle change. Change of jobs, change of location just change everything really. Our life is designed to have a child and if it doesn't happen I want to go and do something different. I have been in my job 14 years and although I love it am more than ready for another challenge. I work 9 till 3, am on great money so is perfect to have a child and still work, but if no child then something needs to change. I want to travel more, maybe spend a few months overseas, just start living life instead of living in limbo.

Another about me post...what are you girls thoughts on my doing ICSI. DH has good sperm apparently but I was wondering if its worth pushing for ICSI as its only another $25 out of pocket for us and thinking it may be good to pick the best of the best sperm. Especially since this will be our last stim, I really want to get the very best results out of it. I am going to talk to my fs on Thursday about Elonva and doing ICSI.

Well on a positive note, Im ovulating today. Got a + OPK this morning. I think we've covered our bases. But Im a giant emotional wreck. So Grand List Keeper, please add me to the TWW section of the list tomorrow?

I read through but suck at personals so will just say I hope everyone is having a good day; and that its a nice sunny (as warm as winter can get) day wherever you are.

myturn, lol, I was just telling my SIL (who just told me she got an IVF BFP on her second attempt and hadn't even told me she was doing IVF! ) that I had to do the pessaries 3x per day for our last IVF (DD). I always treated them as enforced relaxation time since I had to lie down for 30 mins for each one. For the list, I'm CD2 today. My lap will be on CD4, so whether or not we TTC this cycle will depend on when I stop bleeding. Last time I bled for 2 weeks (followed by AF, so 3 weeks total), but I'm hoping being at the start of the cycle will mean it's shorter this time and that we can still BD before I O. It's a race...

Vic, we did ICSI last time, just for the sake of trying everything, so DD is an ICSI baby. Some people don't like the idea of the scientist choosing the sperm, but if that doesn't bother you, then it's worth asking your Dr about it.

Miss.B, I have found the acu helps me (I've had 2 natural BFPs since starting, even if they were both m/c), but that doesn't mean it's right for everyone. I'd say trust your instincts. If you don't think what you're doing is helping, then change it, whether that be trying someone different or stopping.

N2L, I hope you're recovering nicely and that the results bring you the answers you are seeking.

    Freya, GL catching the egg!

Sorry, I've had trouble keeping up with the conversation the last few days as it has been a difficult time with the EDD of our mm/c yesterday (and CD1, since AF has an evil sense of humour) and a few random curve balls thrown in for good measure. Apologies to anyone I've missed.

For those of you taking higher doses of CoQ10, do you take the tablets all at the same time or spread them out through the day? I'm going to have to chase down some of these cheaper options as mine cost almost $50 for 30 tablets. I did spot some online that were $33.50 for 90 (150mg) tablets, but I've never heard of the brand (Herb Valley). They had others that are similar in price to what you've discussed above, so once you add on postage it's not an improvement (although the Sydney folk among us can pick them up). Has anyone used that brand before? Is it any good? The ones I take now have lipoic acid in it (which is supposed to make them more effective), so do you think I could take 1 per day of my current ones and a different brand for the balance of the dosage?

Vic I know what you mean about living life in limbo, DH and I have only been using AC since Dec last year but were trying for many years naturally before that and I came to the realisation this week that I am sick of putting out lives on hold. I feel like I am living month to month just waiting for another cycle and not really committing to anything "just in case" and although I'm a long way away from giving up I did talk to DH on the weekend and explained how i want to live my life again and not make decision based on a baby we might have. So we went and got bikes on the weekend (partly for fun and partly to help keep me fit) and I had so much fun going for a ride and just enjoying life and the great weather. Not sure if they ICSI would help you but anything that can give you any extra chance of another BFP I think is worth it so why not go all out.

Yay for O Freya, Enjoy the TWW.

AFM had our follow up appointment with the FS today and it went much like I expected, he went through my 2 failed cycles but told me everything is perfect, eggs are great quality and defrosted wonderfully for our FET, lining and hormones were perfect so no real reason for it not to work, and its really just a matter of time or so he thinks. He said we have already done immune testing and checked my uterus for any issues and all came back fine so for now we are just moving onto another FET, the only changes we are making is he will be giving me Progesterone after transfer this cycle and also going to do an ultrasound guided transfer to ensure we get the Embie in the perfect spot, so now i just need to hurry up and ovulate so we can move onto the next cycle....but in the mean time I am going to enjoy life and try to have fun again.

    Enjoy your tww wait freya.

Mrs Mac, good on you for not putting life on hold, it certainly consumes us that's for sure and i think the only way to keep our sanity is to live life as well. I hope the ultrasound guided transfer helps for a little embie to implant. My clinic does that normally, unless there is 2 different ways it's done, I still feel very new with some of this as we have only done one complete cycle.

my clinic doesn't use the ultrasound either... always wondered what makes it different.... I think there's a more recent move that ultrasound doesn't make a difference... but.... I'm starting to think I'd be prepared to try anything too...

the grand list keeper will try to remember tomorrow Freya

Mrs Mac, glad your appointment went well. I thought all the IVF clinics do the u/s guided transfers, how do they know where they are putting the embie in? Unless they put it in there and let it decide where it wants to stick ?? Well it can't hurt hun! Enjoy your life for now and have a bit of fun darl xoxox

Awww juniper, I'm so sorry hun I saw your post yesterday and got distracted with my reply. I hope the day was as gentle to you as possible (apart from that stupid AF!!).

Vic, it's hard putting an end date to TTC isn't it? I would have loved to have stopped by now, but my lovely OH cost me 12 months of 'nothing' so here I am at 42 still doing IVF and what should have been an end to it all by 42, it looks like it will be 43. Geez, not in my wildest dreams I thought I would be still TTC!! I am so grateful that I have my DS here earthside, and I realise so many ladies don't have a child here on earth at all, it's just so hard to stop right now withought giving it my all to give him a sibling. But I think the way you're looking at it is really healthy. If it means no baby for you guys, then you still have you DH and can have a very fulfilling life. I really do hope though, that you will have a pink or blue bundle very soon xoxox

Freya, so good to hear from you hun!!! GL in this cycle hun!

Hello to all my other beautiful buddies in here too! (I am calling myself a buddy even though I'm not cycling right now, hehehe). I hope that you all have success in here very soon

I am sooooo confused about these supplements/minerals etc when TTC.....I went to the chemist wanting to buy some CoQ10 stuff and the lady there said that it won't help my eggs My FS also said there isn't anything out there to help with ageing eggs I really don't think acu sessions helped me with quality (that was the goal) so now I am so confused as to what I should do. See a naturopath? Get those disgusting chinese herbs to drink? Do more acu even though it could be doing nothing while spending a fortune? Do nothing??????? Waaaaaaah! I have approximately 6-7 weeks to do 'something' if I chose to, I just don't know what to do!

There are lots of things on the web about coq10 and egg quality.

I will find some studies. In the meantime.... http://www.ctvnews.ca/supplement-tou...ility-1.744549

I've done 5 transfers (2008-2010) and none of them were u/s-guided. It seems to be the norm in America though. I don't know if anything has changed at our clinic since our last cycle.

My transfers have always been ultra sound guided. I get a print out of the white flash. I also take my camera in and get photos of the embies before they are put back in.

I have started taking 300mg of CoQ10 and not sure it would be in my system yet, or I am just feeling better but I seem to have more energy. I just put it down to getting over being pg and then the d&c, but I will definately keep taking them.

I keep swaying between using my frosties or going for a stim. If I go for my frosties it will be easier on my body, cheaper and give me more time to lose weight. If I go for a stim I will probably have a better chance as frosties dont seem to work for me. I keep thinking, wouldn't it be nice if the frosties worked...

I guess every clinic has a different procedure, mine does not usually use the US so I guess they just put where ever, the entire transfer usually only take 10min and then I'm out of there, where as some people have to lie down after and use US for the transfer. I think the FS just has no idea why we are not pregnant so is trying something else to appease me. It will be nice to see the little speck go in.
