Ta
just looking at that list Lou - i think i've had most of the ones on the bottome half, but probably only a couple of the upper ones - i'm sure it's probably something to do with the repeated IVF cycles or something
interesting what different tests we all have isn't it?
The bottom list are the usual test that are done i believe and having changed clinics have had this set done twice - oh the joys and i hate having blood taken (after bad experiance with ectopic, rush surgery job!)
The top lot are for implantation falure, but worry that i might be missing something too and dont want to leave any stone unturned - thats why i feel BB is such a great place to gain the knoweldge through others travelling down the same road, and if i can give anyone anything that they havent tried and them to go on to be successful from that them i feel all the better for it.
i agree - sometimes just looking at a list of tests and going "yep, i've had those, but hang on, haven't had that one" can get you thinking about options.
hope you get to the bottom of things soon hun - maybe this new protocol will be the winner - truly hope so!
Hi BG - it sounds like you are happy with the new plan from your DFS - that is fantastic news. I was also interested to read about a cycle without synarel - oh dare to dream ;) that that might actually be possible if this one gets cancelled on me. I am still holding out some hope as my ovaries seem to be particularly active tonight, with bursts of feeling bordering on quite painful. Maybe my body is trying, trying :crossfingers::pray:
Ellie - good luck with your phone call. I am sure you have written a long list of questions since you have been busy researching and I hope you get answers and a path forward.
Loula - thanks also for your info... there is just so much to learn in all of this!
Take care all and chat soon, :bedtime:

hoping the activity in your ovaries is a good sign hun! take care
Hello everyone, I'm back in LTTTC properly and actually able to post now that we have our internet up and running at a decent speed! I have been reading but not posting for the last couple of weeks.
BG, Yay at doing nothing! lol It's a good feeling knowing that you can just sit back and chill out for a bit before taking the next step. My FS sounds a bit like yours. Always positive and keeps telling me he will get me pregnant...I always walk away from his appointments feeling positive.
Lou, looking forward to being cycle buddies again! ;)
I am currently on CD28 and waiting for AF to arrive at any tick of the clock. Then I will start the pill on day 2.
It feels a bit strange this time around. It's my 2nd stim cycle so I guess they think I know what I'm doing and I don't have to go into the clinic until I pick up my injections and pay in about 4 weeks. Last time, it felt like I had about 3 or 4 appointments before I even started the pill! It kind of doesn't feel like anything is happening!
thank goodness there is BB to help keep my sanity!
Welcome back, Megan! I've been missing you and wondering how you are going. I really hope this cycle is the one for you.
Funny thing... I've most of the blood tests on the top half of Lou's list, plus more - not that I can ever remember them. All done by my rheumy in the hope of identifying my weird arthritis thing... never happened, but we did rule out a lot of other stuff!
Ellie, good luck with the DrS phone call tomorrow. I hope he has answers and a way forward for you.
Chez, I'm hoping you're right and your ovaries are just a bit slow to wake up. Nice of you to step in and keep BG company now that I've graduated. Life is such fun being a problem patient. :p
I'm hoping and praying for all of you every day. :crossfingers:
BW
Hi Everyone!!
I haven't been around much the last 2 days... been busy!!!
BG - Great news re your app today!!! I posted in your journal but wanted to send you wishes here too xxx
Ellie - Can't wait to see how you go with your phone call tomorrow... will be so interesting, and he has such a good reputation, too
Chez - Hope you're hanging in there sweetie
The first cycle always feels like you're running around in the dark trying to find the light to switch it on.... Great to hear your ovaries seem to be waking up a little!!!! Can I suggest to keep them warm... my NP told me last cycle to have a hot water bottle or something similar on your abdomen as much as you can while you're "growing" follies... If you can feel them niggling, you will definately notice the niggling increasing from keeping them warm.
I sat as often as I could with the hot water bottle (As it is at the moment I'm sitting here at the computer with a hot water bottle on my belly!!!)
I can vouch from experience that this can help... the other thing my NP told me to do was to eat lots of warm foods (soups, vegetables, etc... anything that warms you up inside helps with the growing of follies, too apparently!)
I guess it comes down to what you believe, but hey, anything is worth a try ;)
Megan - Glad to hear you're ready to go again!!!! Are you excited?!
Lou - Praying things are starting soon sweetie xxx
Jo - Can I ask what PHI you switched to? We have been with Man Unity for the last 6yrs.. they seem to still be the best for our circumstances, but interested in what you guys have chosen!!!
To everyone else... a big :hello: Hope everyone is great!!!
Not much happening here - I think this is the weekend Antonia is in Sydney.. not sure, but she said she would call on the Fri if it was so I could meet her over the weekend for a treatment.... Here's hoping!!!
Am feeling great from everything I'm taking though... not sure if its coincidental or not, but since DH has started drinking Antonias tonic, he has stopped snoring... completely... this is an amazing miracle in itself, as it was pretty bad!!!
Am very happy at the better nights sleep we have both been getting!!!
Hope everyone is great and talk soon!!
Love Holly
xxx :D
BW, good to see you are still popping in here, even though you have gone to the "other side" lol. I hope you are well and the pg hormones aren't knocking you about too much!
Holly, I am a bit excited this time! I guess because I know what to expect now so I'm not anxious or nervous. I've had a good break from AC which I think has done me the world of good too.
What is the tonic you mentioned that stopped your DH's snoring?? I need some of that!!! lol
Thanks BW - I have never thought of myself as a problem patient before but it appears I might be.
Holly - thanks for the tip about the hot water bottle. I am someone who feels the cold and I have been finding myself needing to have the electric blanket on for what seems like hours before I warm up in bed!! But I am eating lots of soups and hot drinks to keep warm (but also because it is part of my new eating plan - lost 3.1kgs in 2 weeks so it is working!). I will pick up a hot water bottle on the way home - sounds like a nice way to spend Friday night, me, HWB, blankie, DF and our furbabies snuggling in front of a movie :)
Loula - I forgot to answer you last night: I did mention my pain to FS and she said that it wasn't OHSS, if anything, the pain was a good sign that my ovaries were actually responding! So now my motto is: ab pain is good pain! :D
To everyone else, happy spraying, injecting, etc etc and good luck with FS visits and phone calls! Chat soon.
Cheryl xx
Snap - we decided on Manchester Unity too, but they haven't sent the final papers through yet to sign, and it's been a week. Not sure what we are going to do as i will hopefully be doing and OPU in less than a fortnight. I really busy atm, so i'll try to ring them on Monday to see what the story is. I am really pleased that DH has stopped snoring - what a result! My DH stopped snoring once he quit smoking, but in the last few months he has started again. Hopefully the bruises in his ribs might help him stop!!
Hi Megan, good to hear things are starting again for you. Hope AF behaves for you.
:hello: to everyone else. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
hehehe - the bruised ribs only work temporarily Jo - they start snoring again pretty quickly (well, mine does anyway!!) - a friend suggested a tennis ball to help DH stop snoring - wear a t-shirt back to front with a tennis ball in the pocket to stop him rolling onto his back (interesting suggestion - if you wear clothes to bed!)
Hi everyone
Just checking in to let you know that I have just been to my first IVF support acupuncture session. I am feeling very positive after the visit - not sure if it is an effect of the acupuncture or because I feel I am taking a little bit of control back over my body :D Anyway, she believes that there is still a good chance for an EPU later next week with the treatment she gave me today. So, I have to think lots of positive thoughts.
Hope everyone is doing well and has somewhere nice and warm to be tonight. I have a date with my hot water bottle, blankie and DF while we watch some movies. Take care.
Cheryl xx
Thanks BG - he wasn't much into wearing much to bed...until the weather got a bit colder and he kept waking up freezing 'cos his lovely wife had stolen all the duvet!!! OOpps :p
We need a new house :( This one is soooo cold.
A new house? Surely not the same house that is photographed on your MySpace? That place is awesome!
Oh yeh, i forgot i had that webpage listed.
No, that was our first home - we built it and did everything to it for 15 months and then my lovely DH decided to move us to victoria, so he could get a new job. We rent a cold little place with high ceilings. And we have no painting, gardening, fixing, mending etc to do in our weekends. It's weird not owning a home after having thrown all our time and effort into one, but we are getting used to it. Lots of free time (and no mortgage :p). Good for when you do AC!!
Jo
Warning TMI!!!!
So the drama continues...thought I had thrush post antibiotics so did the pessarie thing but still uncomfortable...so back to the GP...did the swab thing...and test results have come back that I have REALLY high levels of Strep B bacteria!@?! So now I'm on penicillin for 5 days to see if it settles?!@! ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!! Has anyone else had this or heard of it...I thought Strep was really bad???? Sushee...the keeper of all knowledge...have you heard of this????
Ellie Hun - that just sucks! i wish i could give you some answers but i have no idea - just want to send you huge hugs hun!
Ellie - i hope that your Ok? (silly Q, i know) just here for you. im sorry that youve got this infection, make sure you discuss this with Dr S and/ or you normal FS. i thisnk there are many different strep, i know a girl at work had it in her chest and took her some time to get over.
The only advice i can give you is get some inner health + from you local chemist, not the tablet but the one you sprinkel onto your food and have a spoon of that with some yoghurt, that should help it to settle at least .
xx
Thanks guys...my day just isn't getting any better...due to the job drama I thought I'd go in to work today...being Saturday and no one around to clear out my gear...only to find that all my cupboards and filing cabinet have been gone through...even my diary and note book have pages torn out of them! I even found some in the bin...AND a heap of my stuff is gone...hundreds of dollars worth of teaching resources GONE!!! Soooooo NOT HAPPY! SO this is just more proof that I would never get pregnant working there...stress is a very BAD thing!
OMG Ellie - that's attrocious!! you're kinda stuck in a bad place - to keep your stress levels down, you kinda have to let it go - but i'd be furious, and making sure it was known! NOONE has a right to go through your things! if they were concerned that you'd take stuff that didn't belong to you, they should have arranged with you a time to go in and clean your stuff out. i'm digusted for you hun! let me at 'em - i'll give 'em a piece of my mind! (for you of course!!)
Thanks BG...so it's not just me??? It's really rude huh? DH was with me and he was really annoyed but like you...said I need to let it go...I'm trying!@?! That would be funny...walking in with team BB and giving them a piece of 'our' minds...that works for me...I'll hang on to that thought lol :cryinglaugh:
Oh...and to top off this fantastic day I'm having...I'm off for the MIL's birthday dinner tonight that was to be held at our house was then cancelled and reorganised at the BIL's?????
GIVE ME STRENGTH!!!!!!
Oh my gosh.... some people, i really dont get it. Ellie are you a teacher too ? i know a GF of mine works in a competative biss and when someone leaves they ask them to go through their stuff together, but what you have had to gothrough is so bad, can you go to anyone ? or is it better to let it go as BG says?
Im sorry that you have had such a rough time ATM
it's definitely not just you hun - i felt violated when i'd had a couple of weeks off work due to illness and someone had packed my stuff up as we had a desk change while i was away - everything was there - but i felt really annoyed that someone else had been messing with my stuff
had anything been missing, i would have seriously given them a piece of my mind! i'm sure Team BB will be there with you in spirit through the whole thing hun - and if you have a list of things you yourself have paid for that are now missing - or things that are rightfully yours, i'd be sending them a letter asking for it back - i'm not sure of your circumstances, but is there someone you can talk to and mention you're not happy and want your things back - along with a formal apology for the interference with your personal items??
Thanks Lou...the good in all this is I am seeing very clearly why I'm not staying pregnant!!!! Getting out of there is the best thing I've ever done!!!
Good for you seeing the positive in this and im sure your life will be much happier with out thoese people in it - i have too worked at a 'difficult place with difficult people' and although still working for the same company, just changed areas, feel so much happier. i still have to see some old work people at staff social, meeting ect but they are all OK to me !!WTF at while they were very surprised i was appointed 2IC wished me well, but then again maybe they thought i would use my position to expose them. Guess what they are slowely dropping off on their own( and i dont mean they are dying) Just leaving to do other things, which is good for them as i feel they needed it, sure they may have needed a bit of a guide in that direction but i hope they will see that it is to better them. I hope that they start to listen though. Its always the same the ones that need to go to the training dont put their hand up hey
Lou..did I tell you I didn't have my phonecall with Dr Sacks yesterday? They said it was free then decided $100 should cover it and I can't claim from medicare..so I thought I'd wait for D&C test results from FS on 4th July and see what other tests he will do then talk to Dr Sacks after that...if that makes any sense?????
Ellie - that makes perfect sense - it's kinda hard knowing whether to fork out $100 for a phone consult with a specialist if you don't have all of your results in front of you - it might be that something shows up in your test results on the 4th - and if not, you know what you're looking at if and when you decide to contact dr sacks
hope you're feeling better hun
Thanks Lou and BG...I'm feeling like this is the 'pain' before the 'gain'...will all be worth it when I'm relaxed...stress free..and pregnant!!!!
i love it when we can see the silver lining to the darkest of dark clouds - well done for staying positive Ellie
Only thanks to you guys xxx
hi bec
i've not had any issues with this one (pretty sure i haven't been tested!) - but doing a quick google search, i found this
is it possible you've tested positive and your doc is doing follow up tests to check whether there is a possibility of lupus (which is really difficult to diagnose) or whether you had the antibiodies due to other factors - if the first two tests were inconsistent results, they may be testing a third time to check the result again... perhaps their monitoring your immune responses... i'm just guessing, but it's something to consider - i doubt they'd be testing specifically for lupus, more to look at your immune antibodies in general...:
Antinuclear Antibody Test (ANA) -- This test identifies certain autoantibodies typically present in the blood of people with lupus. Most people with lupus test positive for ANA. However, a positive ANA result can occur due to infections and other rheumatic or immune diseases. In addition, healthy people without lupus also can test positive.
if you're concerned, i'd ask your doctor directly why they're testing you again for this - can't hurt to ask! goodluck hun!
Just a quickie as I'm not feeling too well today.
Still waiting for AF, currently on CD31 of normally a 27-28 day cycle. Did a HPT this morning and got a BFN. Still feel very ordinary though. For about 4 days or so now I had have this hunger/nausea thing going on and it's always one or the other. I've been having cramps this whole time too. So frustrated. I just want a BFP, or to start the pill for my down reg cycle. Why does this have to be so hard all the time.
Sorry, having a poor me day today I think! :(
Megan - i can so understand the "poor me" day hun - you're allowed those!! don't feel bad about it - i think i'd be worried if we didn't all have those days every now and again.
so sorry you got a BFN hun - it's hard when things start looking ok and then you get your hopes dashed - but don't lose hope hun - some HPT's aren't super sensitive, some people don't get positive HPT's til much later - until AF shows up, there's no guarantee that result is accurate.... still want to send the bugest of hugs to you anyway - i can understand how hard it is to be in limbo land, and just wanted to let you know i'm thinking of you. take care
Hi Megan
Sorry you're not feeling great...do you know when you ovulated? Could it be that it was a bit later and the HPT wouldn't work yet? I'm always looking for the chance it could be BFP!!!!Can you call your clinic and have a BT? Give you an idea where you're at? Hang in there...hope you get your answer soon xxx
Thanks girls :) I tried to go and have a bit of a nana nap, but obviously there are too many things running through my head at the moment.
Ellie, I wish I knew when I O'd, but I have no idea. On a "normal" cycle I usually O between days 16-18 and have a shorter LP of 10-11 days. So, if I'm not pg then I must have O'd after CD20 this time.
I'm going to have to find my thermometer....I think it's still in one of our unpacked boxes somewhere!
I'll wait until around Wednesday, and if still nothing will contact my nurse and see what she has to say.
