CatyO, sorry to hear that, hun. It could be a warning sign that things aren't right, but there are also other potential explanations (eg lab error, vanishing twin, etc). It's hard to have to just "wait and see" and be stuck in limbo. Hoping and praying that all is well in spite of the test result.

Back home now after my lap yesterday to remove the endo and my left Fallopian tube. FS said that it was that badly inflamed that it was stuck to the side of my pelvic wall. Yuck! surprisingly I am feeling quite good, considering how much they did and that the last one I had I couldn't even stand up straight. Lets hope the recovery keeps going well. Feeling quite tired so no personals today as I still have to read through it all but I hope everyone is going ok

Beau30, thanks for telling me how your clinic doing the Hormorne replacement cycle,I will consult the other doctor for second opinion next time. I wish you have BFP soon.

Miss.B, congratulations for your 3 frozen embryos, wish you will do well in your next transfer cycle.

Joespratt, I heard taking DHEA 75mg per day for 3 months will improve egg quality, but my FS did not recommend it to me, I'm interested to know how you are going with it.

I had a bad news- my two frozen embryos were not going well to be transferred. I received a phone call from embryologist in the early morning yesterday when I was prepared to go to do the transfer and she told me one embryo was discarded on the day defrosted and the other one was not growing anymore on day 5 (My embryos defrosted on day 3 and grew to day 5 for transfer). I was very disappointed and I called my clinic, they told me I can come to see my doctor in the afternoon of yesterday. My doctor gave me a prescription of Melatonin 4mg per day, he said recent study shows Melatonin which is a nature hormone can help improve egg quality but it hasn’t been strongly approved. He asked me to take it from yesterday and even continuing on stimulation period and after transfer. I want to do the next cycle for egg collection and my doctor said I can do it when I period come this month. Did anyone take melatonin before and how long you have to take it before IVF cycle?

Kel, I'm glad to hear it went well. Rest up and you can catch up on the goings on here when you're feeling better.

Bestrong, I'm sorry to hear your embies didn't make it to transfer. That's always horribly disappointing. I'm on 5mg melatonin for my IUI cycles. I start at the beginning of the cycle and stop at the end. My acu said that a lot of women stop after O though, so I plan to ask my FS about that when I have my IUI. I've also been told that if you take it more than 6 weeks straight your body can stop producing its own melatonin, so I'm reluctant to take that risk (since I'm already prone to insomnia).

Another pre-dawn trip to the clinic for me this morning. U/s showed 2 follicles - 1x 17mm (right), 1x 19mm (left), so trigger tonight and IUI booked for Monday morning. Lining was good (13mm) in spite of my light AF, so that's a relief. He said he wants to transplant my lining into some of his other patients (and give me their good eggs in return)...

That's good news Juniper. GL for Monday. I would swap some good eggs with you for some of your lining! If only we could!

I've woken up this morning crampy. Feels like af will show Can it show while I am still on my dosage of progynova & progesterone?

CatyO- You are in my thoughts hunny! Fingers crossed that next week brings better news... We will all be praying that it is simply a lab error or something

Beestrong- Sorry that your little embies didn't make it to transfer. Fingers crossed you have better luck with your next cycle

MissB- Well done on all 3 embies making it to freezer.. You muyst be one happy lady. Fx you only need one FET but must feel great knowing you have 3 chances

Juniper- oohhh 2 follies is great.. and both a nice size too! Good luck for iui on Monday x

Joespratt- Best of luck with the DHEA.

Beau- Wow lady you are doing well holding out till your BT on Tuesday! Is AF now officially overdue?

AFM- A few mixed emotions going on at the moment... The lab called after lunch yesterday with an update on our embryos. First part was great news. Initially we were told that only 6 of our 10 embryos fertilised but when they called yesterday they said we actually have 7! Apparently there was one that they were having trouble getting a clear view of under the microscope so they weren't 100% sure if it had fertilised. They put it back into the incubator for another 24 hours and checked it yesterday and said it had fertilised and progressed.. So we have 7 embies! However this is the part that worries me.. Yesterday (at day 2) we had the following..
    4x 2 cell
    1x 4 cell
    1x 5 cell
    1x 8 cell
I have read on the internet that they should be at a 4 cell stage on day 2.. So does that mean the 4x 2 cell are not going to be viable? And what is with the 5 cell.. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I thought embryos have an even number of cells HELP

Beau- Don't stress too much about the crampy feelings honey. In my successful ivf cycle I had really bad cramps around the time AF would normally have been due and I still got my BFP. I was freaking out thinking that something was wrong but the nurse at the clinic told me it was due to my uterus stretching etc... So do not give up hope yet. I still get AF sometimes while on Crinone.. But other times it has delayed it so I guess it just depends???

Thanks jasmine - makes me feel a little better. I didn't have any cramping my last Bfp though. I assume af was due yesterday or today as I am normally 28 -29 day cycle so 14 dpo. I assume 5 days before my transfer is classified as ovulation. Sorry I don't understand about how embryos progress. Hopefully someone else can help you

Jasmine they don't always have to have an even number of cells as it just depends on which cells have divided, so in your case I guess only one of the cells has made the next division.

as for your two cell embies, you can never tell what's going to happen. So try to just let nature take its course. There are a couple of good ones in there so you're doing great!!

Thank you all for your comments.
Im just thinking if it could be a quemical pregnancy even if I had the last Pregnyl shot 1500 iu 10 days before...
This will be a very loooong weekend waiting for Monday to go for a blood test. Still no signs of AF and my boobs are very sore, more than the past days.
I don't really think there is a lab mistake, but I wish it was only that.
A vanishing twin? Can that be possible if they only transferred 1 embryo? I mean at the stage the embryo was, is it possible it could split?

Juniper, that sounds great! Good luck for Monday!
Beestrong, I am sorry that the embryo didn't make it to transfer
Beau, I was told the same than Jasmine00, that cramping can be just the uterus stretching.
Jasmine00 I don't really understand how embryos progress, and perhaps they just needed a few hours more to get to 4 cell stage? Lucky you have 7!
    JoeSpratt good luck with DHEA!
Kel82 Im glad to hear your operation went well. Look after yourself

Beau, if only we could share... Sorry to hear you're not feeling confident. Cramps aren't always a bad sign. I had cramps during the 2ww of our successful IVF, same as all the BFN cycles. I felt like AF was about to start "any minute", right through the first trimester! Drove me a bit batty, to be honest...

Jasmine, sometimes they can start off slow and catch up, so there's still hope for your little 2-cell embies.

CatyO, another hug for you, sweetie: Limbo (aka Beta Hell) sucks. Been through it myself and it's torture... So yet another hug for you:

Beau, I hope the AF pains are good, I had cramping around my BT with all my BFP and it was a sign of the embie digging itself a nice deep hole. GL for your BT hun x

Caty, thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for you hun x

Jasmine, the embies look great! You never know, the 2 cell ones might catch up, but there's almost always some embies that a bit slow and they drop off. It's part of the 'survival of the fittest' I suppose...GL with your lovely embies hun .

Juniper woohoo for two great follies and great lining!!! I'll be thinking of you on Monday, all the best with your IUI hun xx

AFM ladies, on Friday night I noticed quite a strong acidic smell from my pee. Now, I almost always get thrush somewhere along the line during my stim cycles, but this feels different. It doesn't hurt to pee, but my poonanie stings when I wipe, and it's a bit itchy down there but mostly after wiping. So I took myself off to a chemist, and the guy says my symptoms are of a UTI. He said to get to a doc sooner than later, but when I started calling around the 3 clinics I know of, they were all closed. Should I be worried that if I live it to Monday things can get out of hand if it's an infection? I've been drinking the ural thing.

Miss.B, see how you go with the ural. If it is worse tomorrow, it'd be a good idea to find a clinic that's open, but if it's still mild you could be okay until Monday. I've never had the stinging while peeing when I've had UTIs, just an urgent need to pee frequently. I find if I hit it with the ural and some cranberry juice early, it can often sort itself out without a trip to the GP. You'll know pretty quickly if you need to see the Dr. (ps. If you'd done a transfer I'd have said to see a Dr asap just to be safe.) Hope you feel better soon.
