CatyO, the physical recovery from a d&c is usually very quick. You usually only run into trouble if they miss some and you need a repeat (my OB warned me that was a possibility because it's a "blind" procedure, ie not u/s guided). Someone experienced is less likely to leave some behind though, so the risk is relatively low. I bled for 2.5 weeks after mine, but most women seem to bleed for only a few days. I always seem to bleed longer than average after GYN procedures (ie d&c, hsg, lap, hysteroscopy)... I had my d&c on a Monday and on the Thursday was well enough to drive across town (1 hour each way) with DD (almost 1 at the time) to visit my parents (who still don't know about the d&c). I was recovered enough that they didn't suspect anything was wrong.
