Crinone comes in pessaries & gel I asked all that today because a friend had pessaries and had to remain prone for 20mins each time... I was like do I have to do that? Nurse laughed & said nope you have gel all good... Phew... I'm confused about mine too I got 12 applicators but she said I use it twice a day for 15days so I should have 30 by my count??
CatyO, congrats! I had some bleeding after one of my EPUs and it stopped after a day or so. If it continues longer it might be worth calling your FS to ask about it. Crinone and pessaries are not the same, but the are used interchangeably. You have to lie down after the pessaries (which are solid), but you don't after the crinone (which is a gel). If you're worried about the luteal support (and I wouldn't consider that enough for me), call your FS and ask if you can have more. I used to have 3x crinone (or 3x 200mg pessaries) per day and 3 1500iu pregnyl booster shots after transfer for my IVF cycles.
chellico, yes, if you need to do 2 per day for 15 days, you need 30. Best ask them about that...
Thanks juniper, I will definitely will ask her if I can have more.
day 14 and still neg OPK.
Has anyone used clomid while breastfeeding? its the next step but I was hoping that it wouldnt come to that.
WW, how exciting! FX things keep going well for you !
And the ladies with lots of eggs ! I really hope I get that many, too.
I feel like AF might be coming tomorrow. I'm meant to go in for scans and a BT on cd2 to check for that cyst that was on one ovary- but that's going to be Sunday! And if I have to wait til Monday, will it be too late to start a cycle anyway?
Personally, I wouldn't. But if you are keen to give it a go there's no harm in asking your Dr about it and discussing any risks. At least then you can make an informed choice...
Pholi, there shouldn't be any problem starting a day later if day 2 falls on Sunday. Just call the nurses and ask about it...
I just got call from clinic to say that 6 from 10 eggs fertilised, hopefully they make it to transfer. We didn't have ICSI, perhaps l would have gotten more fertilised if l had had it? Or whats the difference between having and not having ICSI?
I would have thought that 6 out if 10 is an ok rate. Afaik, generally ICSI is only used if there are male factors to your infertility.
Hi there. I hope you ladies don't mind me joining you in here. I'm CD1 today, this will be my 14th cycle TTC our first. We've got an appt with a specialist at the end of this month. I've had CD21 bloods and a transvaginal ultrasound which were both normal. Just waiting on DH to do his semen analysis. Today I'm on the couch with a heat pack and feeling pretty miserable. Thanks for sharing this journey with me and all the best to you all xo

Spoons, hi and welcome! Hope you're feeling better soon. AF can be so nasty at times. :(
CatyO, we did ICSI with our 5th IVF just because we were up to our 5th cycle and it was something new to try. It was a few years later that DH's MFI was diagnosed (long story), so I do think we actually needed it. The thing with ICSI though is that there are some who believes it damages the eggs/embryos and makes hatching difficult or something like that (can't remember exactly), so it's not without risks.
WW, a "typical" level for 14dpo is 100, so you're very close to that! But most FS just want to see the level over 50 at that stage and you're well above that! I'd be cautiously optimistic about that result! :goodluck:
Thanks so much ladies! I am really touched at people coming in to say Congrats. Even if it's just for next few days, I feel very blessed just to have a bit of a go.
CatyO, that is great about your fert rate. We do ICSI because we have MFI (along with the other stuff) and I wonder too about what Juniper said about the intrusiveness to the embryo, plus I think natural fert is a good kind of natural selection of the strongest embies, unless it is really male factor issues dominating. Keeping fingers crossed for your transfer! What day do you go in?:goodluck:
1MP, sorry if I missed it somehow. Have you had your transfer? Thinking of you today.:goodluck:
Juniper thanks so much for your reassurance! I have been driving myself crazy with speculation and worry, just because it's not the exact 100 or more. It really helped to "hear" (virtually) you say that. Just trying to stay centred. I know it can go either way.
Spoons, welcome and keep to that couch, you poor thing. I hope your pain is not severe. Do you have endo?
Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend and lots of babydust. :bluedust:

WW I have everything crossed that everything will be fine and you will have an un eventful 9 months xxxx
I'm on my stupid phone so I can't see everyone's comments sorry will get on the computer tomorrow
Afm I went to acupuncture first thing this morning then had transfer then back to acupuncture after then in bed, so I'm bored and figgeting (sorry don't know how to spell it) and wiggling I'm so not good at relaxing:-( and my acupuncturist wants me in bed till Tuesday so not happy.
Juniper I'm not sure if I'm day 1 or not today but could you please update me I had transfer at 8.30am, thanks:-)
Quick question, with a 5,000 pergeon trigger it takes 9 days to get out of my system I had a 10,000 trigger this time so will it take longer to get out of my system? When can I start testing? Lol yes I'm useless xxx
WW, even with perfect numbers and a heartbeat it can go either way. Instead of worrying about what might be, repeat after me: "Today, I am pregnant!"
1MP, congrats on reaching the 2ww! FX for great news at the end! I'm surprised your acu advocates bed rest? Is there a specific reason they think you need it? I'd have thought most acus would want you up and about, getting your circulation going. I never did bedrest, but did do a bit of couch time with some DVDs...
*edit*
1MP, you posted while I was typing... If it was 9 days for 5000iu, then assuming a 24-48 hour half-life, you'd be looking at 10-11 days for 10000iu...
Thanks Juniper that's what I thought as well but there is no reason she just said lots of bed rest. My FS said to take it very easy today but that was it so thinking I might get up and move more tomorrow cause I have heard that too about getting the blood moving:-)
1MP... Oh wow wish mine did they've said everything as usual for me as I was worried about playing Basketball etc... But she said I will be fine...
Question: anyone here on Clexane injections? I trust my FS they have been at this a long time & have excellent results but I'm terrified of taking these injections I know they carry great risks themselves... FS says my risk of miscarriage is higher without them but I had my daughter no dramas 7yrs ago without this injection mind you nobody knew I had issues then... She was my magic miracle... I know I shouldn't sweat the small stuff but I want the embryo to have best chance & I'm scared this may not be that chance... 😕
chellico, my new FS puts me on clexane (and prednisone) too. I took low dose aspirin with DD, but nothing stronger and it was more of a "won't hurt, might help" thing. I think the clexane dose he puts me on (40mg) is a fairly low dose? They're nasty needles (like the orgalutran) and the bruising can be spectacular, but I figure if it may help get a BFP I'm willing to try it... I was using it with IUIs last year...
Sneaks in I was on clexane until 34 weeks pregnant. They are a bit ouchy but there is no evidence they are dangerous from all the specialists I spoke with
Sneaks out.
Hi everyone!
it's been a while since i've been in here! I thought I would pop my head in and say hello while I have 5 minutes.
All going well hubby and I will be doing another round in October and having 2 embryos transferred this time. I am petrified of having hyperemesis while pregnant again but we would love to give our little man a brother or sister (or both!). We have decided that this will be our last attempt at IVF. Yes we are only 26 however this will be our 6th transfer and it feels a little like life is standing still while we 'wait wait wait' to see if another round works. If we aren't successful with out next round then we will thank our lucky stars that we have DS and move forward with life and make bigger future plans. I started my own business when Quinn was 6 months old (an online baby shop) and it has gone gangbusters so we will look at moving out into a shop front sooner rather than later if things don't go the way we hope.
I really miss the banter in here and the 'trying', although it was heartbreaking going through it all, at least when I was cycling I knew there was a chance I may fall pregnant. We are off to Bali in Sep for 10 days of rest and relaxation and I'm hoping that will be just what we need before starting again.
Big hugs to you all xxx
Fab thanks ladies... Must stop overthinking things... I'm not even at the 2WW yet! lol 😊

Spoon- hi and welcome :)
Thanks Juniper, WW and pholi, I thought icsi was optional for whoever wanted to have it, we don't have mfi, so I understand now why icsi wasn't offered to us.
WW- I will have a transfer on Wednesday, they will let me know tomorrow.
Im still spotting, brown spotting, not much, but yesterday in the morning it was almost gone and then it started again last night. Im bit sore, but nothing that a heat pack cant fix, is this common, normal?
I start crinone gel tonight, does it matter that im spotting? I tried to call the clinic but no answer...
CatyO, some clinics do ICSI as standard for all patients, but that approach is not universally considered appropriate. If you have no MFI issues, there's really no need for it. As for the spotting, it should be okay. I'd probably mention it to the clinic tomorrow. It shouldn't cause any problem with the crinone. I usually had some cramping after EPU, but not a huge amount. I always had some panadeine extra on hand for any post-EPU pain.
Chellico not sure about the injections, just wanted to wish you luck xxx
CatyO Wishing you lots of luck for Wednesday:) not sure about the spotting, I wiped and there was a little smear of blood but that was all hopefully it will stop soon, I know like Juniper
said I had panadine ready for after EPU. Not sure about ICSI I know I did it but not sure why as there is no MFI or any problems at all but I also did assisted hatching and embrio glue
which were optional but just thought I would do everything as this is my only shot at it. Its exciting again good luck Wednesday xxx
Question my acupuncturist has given me herbs that are supposed to help with fertilisation I have never heard of this should I take them?
I'm sorry not fertilisation I ment implantation
1MP - Thanks we will need it... I'm a little nervous... My DH has gone and got the flu... Worried they will cancel our cycle because he has had mild temps... 😞 keeping everything crossed it all goes ahead & everything is fine... as for herbs... I have a few friends that swear by them & all of them have healthy babies but I've not gone that path before myself... I think it comes down to personal choice... xx
We're your friends taking the herbs after ET? I'm just worried
That I'm not sure of sorry I know one girlfriend went to an alternative fertility clinic after having multiple miscarriages she doesn't believe in IVF & she took herbs & potions & acupuncture etc from beginning to end of both successful pregnancies... I can find out if the other girlfriends who have done IVF did though...
Question again sorry:-) can I have a coke zero? Will it hurt anything?
1MP, my acupuncturist never gives me any herbs during an IVF cycle and I, personally, wouldn't take any. As for coke zero, I'd imagine there's no increased risk related to that, just the usual question mark over the general safety of artificial sweeteners. There's hardly any caffeine in coke, so that's not going to be an issue unless you're drinking a lot of it.
Juniper I took some this afternoon but it was only 1 teaspoon so I will take no more, thanks I was worried about it. I have maybe 1 can of coke zero every 2 days so not many and I try to drink it warm which is what I've been doing for the past month only drinking things room temp and hot food:-) Thanks
I should add, if you discuss the herbs with your FS and they say they're safe to take, then I'd take them... I wouldn't take anything my FS didn't approve...
Cd 1 for me today(Sunday).
Left a message for my clinic, hoping I get an early morning call to come in for my cd2 bt and scan!
Hi ladies,
CD2 for me as well. Sorry about your CD1 Pholi :(
WW, how are you going hun?
And Caty and 1 more, how are you travelling ladies? When is your ET Caty?
Hello to all my other lovely friends in here :)
I have an appointment with my genetic councellor this morning, and then I guess we'll book in the cycle. I think all up I will have to have around 12K ready, don't know if we have that....must speak to OH tonight. I'll get the cost from my nurse hopefully today. With my other cycles I had to make a payment of say $4700 then I got some back after the egg pick up (geez can't remember exactly when it's been too long since my last stim cycle). Anyhoo, I've had some really bad food poisoning about a week ago and still feeling a bit average. Apart from that, not much new. Oh, this is the best bit. Some of you know I have a SIL that we all thought was pg some months ago around xmas, as when she was still living with my parents, mum found a + pg stick in her room. Well, mum confronted her and she told her to butt out. Wouldn't confirm or deny it. I've seen her several times since then (we are not close but catch up every now and then because of our kids) and she a) never looked pg to me and b) we have talked about more kids etc, she never at any point said she was thinking about adding to her family or that she was pg, nothing. Well, I got a call from mum last week who told me she had a baby 3 weeks ago. I am so completely gutted, and I feel so betrayed. I know we are not close, but to have hidden a pg from all the family is just beyond me. I know for a fact that it's not my brother's kid. She was seeing her boss for a while, while she was with my brother (they have the weirdest relationship, don't get me started!) so we all think it's his. It's just put such a downer on everything.
So I had my very 1st EPU today all went well they are happy with the eggs & sperm & they have gone to bed to fertilize overnight... So funny there were 15 other women there with me we were like old friends sharing all out experiences while we waited gowned up & wrapped in blankets... So now we wait for our transfer... Hoping Saturday but will know more tomorrow... After procedure I felt fine which surprised me as I could only have medaz not the fentanyl as I'm allergic to it afterwards still no pain and no bleeding but now I've got quite a bit of pain, bleeding like I have AF 😕 was only discharged from recovery an hr and 1/2 ago... Is this normal?
They got 10 eggs....
Chellico, congratulations, great number! Also, I think yes you should phone the hospital because that sounds a bit heavy. I did have quite a lot of spotting after my last EPU last year and quite some pain, and everything was fine.
CatyO, good luck for Wednesday! Spotting is ok I think. I had that too, quite a lot.
MissB, that is really strange about your SIL. Really awful for your family. Hope your bro ok.
1MP, as Juniper said, you don't take herbs during stims, though I have always taken them as progesterone support in 2WW, but my lady kind of works quite closely with almost only IVF patients/doctors, so I feel very comfortable with it. I am on them now. As for the Coke Zero, ditch it darl. It's not benefiting you, unless you totally love it and are trying to wean off caffeine slowly? It is not going to hurt the pregnancy though, so don't stress.
AFM - good news! hCG is now 299. Waiting for that phone call was nerve wracking - my face was burning for 3 hours. It only gets more stressful from here, but I feel so very grateful for how things have gone so far, and have to say, I am extremely pleased to have been wrong about this cycle (when I was convinced nothing had happened) and that IVF can work (at least, it has got us this far for the first time ever). So if you guys don't mind, I will hang in here mostly to follow you guys. It is such early days for me, and I usually start spotting in week 5 so I am just waiting for that to start (was normal for me with my DD but not normal with my MMC). Wishing us all :bluedust: and :stickyvibesboy:
lots of love,
WW
x
Gosh, you're a chatty bunch in here! Thanks for the welcome, everyone :)
We dropped DH's sample off for analysis this morning and the results should be ready in a few days.
Hi worrywart, I don't have endo, or pcos, all the test were normal apparently. The first day or so of AF is usually pretty bad for me, on the couch or in bed with the heat pack and painkillers and then it's not as bad after that. CD3 today so I'm up and about doing my usual things. Sending you lots of sticky vibes!!
Sorry I haven't addressed everybody personally. Baby dust and sticky vibes to all xx
Chellico, great number of eggs! How strange to be in such a line-up!
WW, great numbers! FX it all keeps working out like it should!
Afm, I had my cd2 by and scan today, but the one small cyst I had on my left ovary at cd 1 is larger, and I have an even bigger one in my right ovary! I don't understand how a hugs cyst can develop between cd21 and cd2?? I've never had cysts before!
Anyway, I'm fully expecting the phone call that says I need to go on the pill for 3 weeks, and hopefully we'll be ready for egg collection next cycle.
I'm so disappointed, I just want to get started, not be just waiting and waiting! It's never been a problem with me before, my tests were always perfect, with good hormone levels and nothing untoward like cysts. I feel like I'm letting us down, now, and it sucks!
So sick of waiting!
