    Hey Guys

Sorry no personals today. I saw a FS today, and she explained IVF reallynicely and I like her, so will probably use her. She did say though that we could still get pregnant with IUI, as I am still so young (30) But I don't know whether to try IUI for a few more cycles, or go onto IVF. ANy thoughts? Why did you guys choose IVF?

babytruj, we switched to IVF because we had done 6 IUI without success and decided it was time to be more aggressive.

Miss K, sorry haven't heard of that before. I hope it's a good sign?

babytruj, it really is a personal decision if/when you move to IVF. There have been others on here who have done IVF but fallen pg on IUI and vice-versa. good luck with your decision.

Mrs K, perhaps it is implantation bleed? I had it once on a natural cycle. I had thin stringy like bright bleed (tiny amounts when I wiped). The other times I have fallen pg I didn't have any implantation bleed (hence it doesn't need to happen to be pg). Are you having crinone? Sometimes that can cause irritation of the cervix and a bit of discharge.

    Congrats Kritkit, fingers crossed

    KK, good luck on Thursday.

Has anyone had post transfer spotting and cramps? Is this normal?

Thanks Dusty. After weighing up all of my options, positives and negatives I finally decided to wait a cycle. More for me and my head space, than for the doctor. The EPU really took a lot out of me and I really want to be feeling great before I go in for the ET. So in the meantime I will be exercising, doing acupuncture and trying to lose a few extra kilos that I put on during the full stim cycle.

MissK- I really hope that what you are experiencing is an implantation bleed.

Krikkit - glad to hear the EPU & transfer went well. GL with your TWW. I hope time passes quickly for you.

KayKay - all the best for your EPU tomorrow.

Taurean - have a fantastic time in NZ... wish I was going on holiday!

Babytruj - I struggled with this not long ago and posted a blog on this vey issue. We have had a couple of goes at timed ovulation and then 2 x IUI. The blog was posted in between my 2 IUI's. To view the blog - click on the number '1' next to blogs on the right (just under my join date and number of posts). There were a number of ladies on BB (including a couple in this form) who shared some of their story and offered me some great advice. In the end we progressed with the second IUI but have now decided to go with IVF. As some of the others have mentioned it is a very personal decision but I believe you will know when the time is right for you.

    Hi all
Esperan - hope your doing well in TWW and not tearing your hair out. Thinking of you

Krikkit, Lilmiss and theresp - hope you are both doing well in TWW also.

Mitf - you must be getting excited. I am but still not sure if we will be able to afford it and if not we will be waiting until Oct

Kay Kay - GL today with your collection. Will be thinking of you.

Taurean78 - Have a fantastic time in NZ - i loved it over there and can't wait to go back one day. GL on the Lucrin etc - we'll be going through a similar cycle - in terms of dates ( that is if we can afford it).

Lovenhope - hi and I really like my FS and nurses so I try to have them all the time. Personal preferance though and Im glad you were able to make a decision - it sounds like a wise one. GL next cycle.

Babytruj - Glad you found a good FS - sounds positive. We were reccommended to go into IVF after 2 IUI's because DH's sperm count/mobility is always so varied. Therefore it is just bout impossible to get the perfect time naturally. So that made sense to me and I was keen to go onto IVF.

Miss K - not sure sorry but I hope its an implantation bleed - could it be from your treatment? GL anyway

Vira - Hi and welcome. Sorry about your MC. GL in your next cycle.

AFM - Im on down reg and have been on the pill. Am about to start Synarel on Friday and have meds appointment next Wed. But we have to make the prepayment by about the 10th-13th of July and at this stage we dont know where we are going to get the money. Im sure we'll scape it up but things are going to be very tight. Otherwise we jhave to wait until Oct and don't really want to wait that long.

Loops, hun, paying in advance can be so stressfull, I robbed Peter to pay Paul with this cycle, so I completly understand the stress of scraping it together, in the good ol' days, you used to complete a cycle then pay - if I had only known that I would of cycled my head off . I hope you manage to get the cash together, and you can get your cycle started. Ps - One cycle, I part paid at the start, then gave em more as the cycle went on. If you ring the clinic accounts, you will find they are quite flexible - hth

Loops - I am getting excited, although a little nervous as well. No one at work knows I am about to embark on IVF. Have you told your work? I am considering telling my direct supervisor so she understands when I need to take days off. I know what you mean about the costs. My clinic takes credit card so I was going to charge a lot of it and will hopefully get my Medicare rebate about the time the bill is due mid August. As wouldloveabubba said, hopefully they might let you pay in 2 or 3 instalments..... GL

AFM - I am doing down reg with out the pill - so If my BT on Friday shows that I have ovulated and have not miraculously got a natural BFP (I wish!)... I will start Synarel that night too.

Hi .. I hope you dont mind me asking. When you had your Lap and Hyst in June, was this through your IVF clinic, and if so, they allowed you to commence an IVF cycle, directly after it, it seems.

I am considering a LAP and Hyst, that is the reason for my querie ..

    Time btw lap and IVF

    Hi WLAB

I am new to IVF and very excited to be starting. I had my lap on 17 June and was given the all clear to start IVF on my next cycle. So I'm just waiting for CD1 then I start pill popping. My FS didn't see any reason to wait, so it seems you can go right ahead. I'm glad I had the lap because they found "substantial endo" and I had no symptoms at all. Freaky. I hope it was worth it and we get a good result

MITF, I havn't told my work either, it makes it difficult doesn't it? I"m not sure how to handle that.

    to everyone!

Wouldluvabubba - no I don't mind you asking at all. My FS works at the clinic but also has her own rooms - they work very closely together.

After my second IUI BFN we decided we would like move ahead with IVF but my clinic advised my FS would probably want to drain a cyst I had on my right ovary prior to IVF. The clinic liaised with my FS to schedule the Lap/hyst. We didn't actually meet with the FS as it was an option we had discussed previously.

I recovered quickly from the Lap/hyst and my FS was happy for me to move straight in to IVF. My lap involved my FS having a look around, draining a chocolate cyst (endometriosis of the ovary), and dye studies. If they had discovered other problems that required more intensive work - I imagine the healing time could be longer, although the human body has a remarkable way of bouncing back - particularly if you are reasonably fit and healthy.

Below is a bit of a timeline of how things went. I guess I am lucky that my FS and the clinic work very closely together, plus I was very proactive in booking things in advance to make sure we could progress without lengthy delays waiting to see the FS etc. I feel like we had been on this journey for a while and not getting anywhere. It certainly feels good to be moving ahead with that next goal post just ahead.

    Time line
    14 May - IUI #2 BFN
20 May Lap booked for 5 June
    5 June - Lap/hyst
    12 June - AF
17 June - FS appointment, discussed IVF
3 July - BT & should start syranel
    10 July - AF due
    Approx 29-31 July - EPU

Daisie - Hi and to BB hon. Do you know what your plans / dates are for your IVF schedule? I am doing down regulation without the pill. I have a BT tomorrow morning so all going to plan I will start Synarel tomorrow night. I think I will tell my supervisor.. I told her about my Lap and I trust her to keep it to herself. As for everyone else ? it is none of there business!.... Although I am pretty sure some of them are dying to ask what's going on.

Vira - Hi and to BB also. Sorry to hear about your MC it must be heartbreaking to receive a BFP and then experience such loss. Do you know what your plans / dates are for your IVF schedule?

    Hi again,

Thanks a lot Loops and Mitf.
Loops-I hope you get the money issue sorted soon.
Mitf- Good luck for tomorrow's BT.
I am going to have IVF in my next cycle(roughly 15th july). I am halfway through this cycle and have started my Primolut N tablets(day 14-25) and am going to have Buserlin injections from day 21.
I had my dummy embryo tranfer and HyCoSy scan a week ago. The dummy embryo transfer was a bit difficult because my cervix was too tight.Hence the doctor has suggested that I have a dilapan insertion within the first 3 days of my next cycle. Apparently this helps to widen the cervix by a few mm.Once this is done then I need to start my gonodotropin injections, scans etc

Thank you very much MITF & Daisy on your thoughts, I dont know why I was under the impression that I would need a couple of months off after a Lap, hmm interesting Daisy that you had no symptoms and had endo, it really makes me wonder, and I think it's wonderful your clinic's organised a LAP before commencing IVF.

Hi to everyone to all xx

    Hi All

I've been lurking for a while but thought that I would jump on and say hi.

I'm about 6 weeks off starting another stim cycle where we will be doing PICSI this time - I have been teasing DH that it is a way of picking the "smart" sperm. He tells me that all of his are smart - they just aren't good at asking for directions (so clearly all male!)

Looking forward to reconnecting with old friends and meeting some new ones.

WLAB - thanks for your support and advice. After talking last night we think we will be right and have some farm machinery we dont need that we may be able to sell before then otherwise we may be able to borrow a little from family to make up what we need.
GL with getting your Lap and Hyst - i think i waited a couple of cycles before getting started on IUI but I think that was because i have to travel along way too.

Mitf - My work is a tight nit group and so most of my work know. My big boss - im not sure but my manager certainly does and she is really fantastic. Plus " NaeNae" on BB is a work colleague and she is pregnant now and due in Nov - so a busy place for babies.
I suppose everyones situation is different. GL with yours. If they are descent enough people they should be helpful and understand I would hope.
GL with the synarel tonight - im on it too and im a bit nervous about it and the side affects etc. I just hope its all worth it in the end. All the best.

Daisie - hi and welcome. GL with your cycle

Vira - Thanks. Im sure we'll manage to get it - will be just a bit tight. Thanks for thinking of me. GL with your tablets and getting started next cycle.

Muppity - welcome back. I hope the 6 weeks goes quick. x

to everyone else and all the best

    xxx
