MrsP, we're doing a 3dt on Monday. In the past we've done 2dt but the weekend prevented that this time... Good work on the 3 embies!!

Today's update - 1 x 8 cell, 1 x 6 cell and 1 x 4 cell (but a "fantastic looking 4 cell that should catch up today") - so we've still got 3 embies in the running for transfer on Wednesday.

I'm still having sporadic pains post EPU, plus need to pee in the middle of the night and the intense PAIN in my ovaries wakes me up - ick. Apart from that, I'm just super excited. Which is kind of bad in a way because I don't want to get too hopeful and set myself up for a fall, but at the same time am still trying to be positive. Aaah the challenges of IVF.

Juniper76 - how did your ET go today? Did you put back one or two?

hello everyone...wishing you all the very best with your cycles- good to see some of you with good results so far

I haven't been chatting in here much...our cycle was recently cancelled as I failed to respond to synarel...now it's been discovered I have an ovarian cyst which is keep my oestrogen levels high...so we have to wait until that goes before starting another cycle..I am on the pill though in readiness...with another scan in a few weeks to check- here's hoping I can then start on lucrin (instead of synarel this time)

I hope there are some BFPs for us all very soon

Possums, good luck with the Lucrin. Sorry to hear about the cyst. I hope it clears up quickly.

MrsP, sounds like some great embies! I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday.

All 3 embies were 4 cell today (if I read the sheet right over the scientist's shoulder). We transferred 2 and froze the third. That's one more snowbaby than last time, so can't complain...

I've been a bit accident-prone over the last couple of days. The highlight was slipping and falling in some spilt water yesterday. My first thought was of the embies, then I realised they were still at the lab! Anyway, so I spent this afternoon just lying on the lounge watching tv. Figured I couldn't do any further damage to myself that way!

Hi All. I went down south for a couple of days break (long weekend here in WA) and I've been having great news since my scan on Friday. Friday's scan showed lots of follies and hormone levels were perfect. Had another scan today, 10+ good sized eggs in each ovary and I'm in for my first EPU on Wednesday!!!! yeeeeehhhhaaaaaaaaa!!! Of course there is still alot of hurdles to get over but at last i've had some good news with regard to my hormones and thyroid (it's underactive but has finally normalised)....if all goes well then my transfer date will be Monday 8 June...MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! here's hoping i get a fabulous 32nd birthday present!!!!

Sorry for the lack of personals but I'm back at work tomorrow so I'll have plenty of time to see how you all are then!

    GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!

First round IVF / ICSI - What to expect?

So.. I am CD 22 (my cycle is only usually 24 days) and just had my scan (10 follies!)

I will start Puregon on CD3 of this month to prime me for IVF/ICSI

I basically want to know what happens?

    Is a 24day cycle short?

I will be on puregon, lucerin (I think) and pregnyl trigger. What do these drugs do and how does everyone cope with injecting. Will I feel like crap?

I am so excited, but trying not to get my hopes up too far - its only our 1st try and well I am hoping it works 1st go like most!

Hi Kristy. I'm about to have my EPU tomorrow. Ive been on the drugs for 3 previous cycles of IUI and felt pretty average (very emotional, headaches) however on this cycle (my first IVF), i've been on a much stronger dose of the drugs (same as yours) and have felt really good however quite forgetful........Of course in saying that, everyone is different and I'm sure you will hear from a lot of the girls saying other things. I'm also feeling a lot more positive (however not getting my hopes up) about this procedure so this probably helps! GOOD LUCK with your cycle and keep us up to date. Stay positive!!

    'me' post

Just wondering if anyone in here has any idea why I might be spotting on puregon?? I started injecting on Friday. I am on Day 8 of cycle with AF leaving on Saturday Any idea? Of course because of the spotting I am an emotional mess.

B2B - good luck for EPU tomorrow. You must be feeling super-bloated - I know how bad I was with only 6 eggs! Which clinic are you at BTW? I'm with FSWA.

Sandygirl - no ideas, sorry hun. Maybe ask your nurses on your next call?

Krikkit - I was on 100 units of Puregon for 5 days then 200 units for 5 days. I was generally a bit crabby, very easily irritated etc. It's a good idea to remind your partner that this could happen and that you will need extra support and consideration during this time. But of course everyone reacts differently. I haven't had lucerin (orgalutron instead).

Juniper76 - congrats, glad you got a snowbub as well as two to transfer! Now, go sit down and rest

AFM - waiting with baited breath until my transfer tomorrow. No embie update today so I just have to hope that there's at least one blastie tomorrow for me!!

Kristy, the main drug I've had s/e from is synarel (alternative to lucrin). My first IVF cycle the synarel s/e hit me like a ton of bricks, to the point that I reduced my hours at work. But the 2nd and 3rd cycles were fine. I haven't tried lucrin, but the main s/e I've heard of from that is headaches. I've never had any s/e with puregon (this was my 6th cycle using it). The pregnyl trigger can give you some early pg symptoms. This is the first time I've used pregnyl for the trigger and the main thing I had was an aching lower back.

As for what the drugs do, the lucrin stops your body producing it's normal hormones. The puregon then replaces one of those hormones and stimulates the ovaries to produce follicles/eggs. The pregnyl trigger then causes you to ovulate and release the eggs. The trigger is timed so you are ready to ovulate just when you go into the EPU.

I've never done the lucrin injections, so I can't comment on those, but the puregon injections are a piece of cake. I'm a total needle-phobe and I have done all of my puregon injections myself. I take my time so I don't panic and do everything methodically. Others find it easier to get it over and done quickly. You just need to find what works for you.

I have more of a challenge with the pregnyl because my doctor wants it done IM (intramuscularly - ie in the buttock). DH has to do those for me. I think most people do the pregnyl in the belly though.

Baby2Bee, GL with your EPU today!

    MrsP, GL with the transfer!

Sandy, I haven't had that. I'll be interested to hear what your Dr says if you ask?

    Hi girls,
    firstly some brief persies:
Spring- So sorry about the BFN
    Welcome Babytruj
    esperan- How are you going?
Mrs P-- I hope the eggies are doing well. GL with ET
    Juniper-
Possums- I'm so sorry you are back to waiting again. Hopefully these 2 weeks fly by.
    B2B- Wonderful news! GL!
Welcome Krikket- I'm going through my first IVF cycle. You are in the right spot. GL with spraying and injecting. My moods have been all over the place, but really it is not that bad, so far

AFM- I still have had some spotting but am not as worried as before. It is very light. I had a BT this morning and got my results back this afternoon. My levels are increasing (384 I think she said) and the FS said (via the nurse) that as my hormone increases the spotting should stop. I have another BT & U/S on Friday to see how things are going.

    Thanks for the babydust girls!

One embie on board and one in the freezer. Transfer was actually a bit unpleasant/uncomfortable but totally worth it!

    Now the 2ww begins....

    Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well and coping with all the injections and prodding and waiting.

Been awol for a couple of weeks as I haven't really had anything to report.

We have managed to speed up the process a bit and I am booked in for a Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy on Friday. I am feeling a little bit nervous... I have never had an anaesthetic so I have no idea how it will effect me. At the same time I am really happy we managed to get the ball rolling a bit quicker. I have an ovarian cyst which is causing me a bit of discomfort and I am hoping we will have a few more answers at the other end.

Good luck to everyone with their treatment, particularly to those who have an embie on board. I hope the wait isn?t too painful.... lots and lots of and coming your way.

Hey girls just a quick me post I am soo flat out at work today will go on tonight for personals!!

I had my first FS appointment since the drilling and guess what she thinks I have already ovulated I had a blood test this morning and get the results at 2.30 today so I am hoping and praying this means a BFP for us if not we will go on the clomid again this cycle and go from there! This is soo exciting and a positive outcome finally! She also gave me pictures from the day of the surgery and my ovaries where the same size as my uterus and then she has a pick of what she did and the "deflated shaped" ovaries now it was amazing!

Love you all girls and I promise I will be back for personals sorry about the ME post!
