I am the same not much to do so I am reseach TCC symbols on the web :)
Miss C - Hope things go really really well for you today.
Dellydoo - Thanks for holding your breath for me, even for a few secs :D! Maybe it will whizz things along for me! I truly hope your phone call gives you the "go ahead" for tomorrow!
BW - So sorry you ended up in the hospital. I hope you are feeling better really really soon.
BG - Congrats on your 4 fertilisations and best of luck for Friday!
Melsta - Thanks for the quote, it was lovely.
I've been stuck at home ironing all morning. We are expecting some tradies to acid wash our new paving out the back, but have no idea when they are coming, so have to stay home until they turn up. Am going a bit stir crazy and so is my daughter - she really likes to get out and about and gets bored at home.
Hope you are all having a good day!
TL - how are those symbols going ?
Brownbug - nothing worse than being stuck at home, perhaps you can give me an update on dr phil and oprah lolol (just joking!) ... so what is an acid wash? I am not very up to speed on all those things for the outside world, thankfully my hubby is handy in that area lol ... I actually dont mind ironing, i find it therapeutic in a weird crazy sense, but i think it all has to do with my need to have everything organised and ship shape as they say, hence why this process has taught me to chill and relax so much ....
Not to bad really focusing on feng shui but heres what I have found:
Dragon on DH's Side of the bead
Pommegrantes and Lychees are good food
Elephants with their trunks down
And my Fav 100 Children silk hanging
Double Happiness is another one
I also have some Willow Figurines arriving today
Melsta, I must admit I did watch Dr Phil , but not Oprah!!
We had sandstone crazy paving put down and some of the cement stuff they used to grout it got in the natural hollows in the sandstone, (this is normal, apparently), so they have to acid wash it all out.
Yeah, I'm also very lucky to have a handy hubby - don't know what I'd do otherwise .
BG - 4 is great news honey, do rest up - I love how your body commanded you to go to sleep even though you wanted a big cry.
Melsta - Thanks for the quote - even though my crazy hormones decided that I should start bawling at my desk. I have professionally covered this up by pretending to sneeze and reaching for a tissue. I think I fooled them.
Melsta - I thought I was the only person who blissed out to ironing! Thank you!
Wow TL - that is some interesting stuff there .... where will the willow figurines go (sorry is that a silly question) ?
Brownbug - go Dr Phil, it is my daily fix when I manage to be home ... the other day was a classic argument between female fiance & her MIL, now that was interesting viewing lol go the handy hubbies - I have asked mine to build me a jewellery draw in our cupboard to store my multitude of earrings ..... hmmmm what else can i put on the wishlist lol
Ah dellydoo a woman who sees the calmness in ironing that I do ... my friends cant understand it but i actually do mine on a sunday afternoon in order to wind down from the weekend !!! .... sorry to make you cry, but well done on the professional cover up !!! Yes when i read it (a) i was so touched at the effort she went to and (b) then i got all emotional as well ... i just figure i may as well release the emotions cause i sure as heck cant control them lol ....
They are made by co called Demarco just pretty and signfy hope they will go in the nursey we have created for bubs to be & no question is silly :)
Wow you ironing gals are funny I hate it big pile at home
cool they sound amazing ... such a beautiful thing to have for a nursery ....
Nah i am weird and love ironing, must have been the influence from my mum growing up, she ironed everything from face washers to sheets (top and tailing them) but still lol she was and is still an ironing machine lolol ... i hereby officially state though that i do not iron face washers nor sheets lol
Lol - I dryclean where possible :)
hello chatterboxes :) i hope all your ironing etc is going well. aggh ironing, i don't think i own anything that needs ironing. i once had a job as a housekeeper and it put me off ironing for life!
today is my last day at home after a week's break - gosh it was so nice to not work for a week and sort out where we go from here with TTC. i finally spoke to my FS today who is no longer going to be my or her other patients FS. long story but the short end is she is recommending Next Generation in Liverpool (only 3 hours away from canberra!) and a FS called David Knight. does anyone know or have any experience with them/him? seems we don't have many FS left in canberra :(
i'm pretty sure that BW see's David Knight dusty...
Dusty - New year New Fs New baby
Lets Hope :)
oh goody really, and she likes him doesn't she? i have heard good things about Next Gen.
ETA: i like your thoughts TL!
i think it swings form one moment to the next - but overall she respects him and the way he works, and i think that's more important than likes or dislikes - those emotions change depending on the moment! respect is much more important...
thanks BG, i will chat with her once she is back on her feet. have you heard how she is doing this arvo?
TL - go the drycleaning .. smart move that one !!
Dusty - yep I agree with TL, everything new is happening for you in the new year so this is a fresh start ... I havent heard anything about Next Gen, but I do know that my FS also works out of Liverpool (SIVF) and I would recommend him in an absolute heartbeat ... this is my first attempt and I cannot fault him .... let me know if you want details ... but either way good luck ... when will you get your referral ?
last update i had from BW, she still had "grossly enlarged ovaries" and was on the drip and getting lots of pain killers. she's had an update on her embies - all still going, about half at 6 cell, half at 8.... and one little over achiever that is already starting to compact
so BG is that good news for her re the embies ?? Sorry if a silly question but some of this stuff i still dont have down pat ... not good that she has the grossly enlarged ovaries, but hopefully the pain killers are giving her the relief she needs ....
Hi Guys
Havent been in for awhile but just reading about BW...what has happened? Is she ok?:(
great results on her embies, they are strong! pls say hi and hope those drugs are working and she is not in pain. i hope she can relax now she knows her little 'uns are doing so well.
thanks melsta, very sweet of you, i need to chat with my GP (kind of forgot about the whole referral thing) but will PM you if needed.
yep we had the same thing re a referal but a tip for you, a GP referral lasts for 12 months whereas a specialist referral last for 3 months, so when we initially had our appt and took our referral from my GYN, they said go back to your normal GP and get their referall as it lasts for longer, especially in the eyes of Medicare - it had something to do with rebates etc ...
My FS has not called me back and I have just left another message like a mad stalker. The hospital just called to confirm my EPU on Friday and I said yep - dear God what have I done. I iron pillow slips and doona covers, but not sheets - and face washers - well that's just going too too far.
Dusty - I am with TL - these could be all wonderful, positive changes for 2008...
TL - Does the dragon have to be facing any direction on DH's side of the bed?
Why won't the phone ring????? Is she trying to make me crazy - oh this woman is cruel!
TL -
he he i thought my original post disappeared .... doh ... dont mind me lol
dellydoo - there is nothing worse than waiting hun, i hope they call you soon xo
Thanks for the update BG - all the very best to BW - sending her cyberwarmth and strength.
On the BW front...
Carla, BW has developed OHSS following her stim cycle. for some reason, her body produces massive amounts of estrogen during the stim cycle, and after the trigger shot, she has become rather ill. as you read, her ovaries are very large, and painful. she has gained about 2kg in weight in a couple of days from the fluid retention, and yesterday afternoon this was starting to impact her breathing a little. after her husband got home last night, they contacted the clinic (she had no choice, i was going to do it for her if he didn't!!) who referred her to the after hours GP for pain relief. after that visit, she was admitted to hospital - i got a message at about 3.45 this morning letting me know she'd been admitted and was on the ward.
it's a couple of hours since i've heard from her, so i'm not sure how she's doing this afternoon, but last update was that she was still in pain, having things pumped into her - and apologising for the way her embies are behaving - even in pain, she's still concerned about how i'm feeling and making sure she doesn't hurt my feelings - she's definitely a gem!
when i get more info, i'll post in here to let you know how she's travelling. at this stage, it looks to be several days before she comes home - and i think we'd all agree it's better she's in hospital getting treatment than struggling at home through this!
ETA - melsta - having her embies continuing as they are is very good news!
BG - send hugs to BW
DD - Dragon just on the side of the bed no direction and I would call them
I have just spoken to my FS and my situation sounds something like BW's - my Estrogen count is through the roof - 21000 and we discussed cancelling the EPU and high risk of enlarged overies and OHSS. I said we should go for it and hopefully all will be well. She said regardless I will have to freeze everything and wait for a natural cycle for ET.
Feel like a soldier going into battle!
DD- good luck heres hoping the OHSS is not too bad sweet
TL - I don't know - maybe because it is my first time but I feel OK about it. Petrified, but OK. My FS is so encouraging and if it doesn't work, there is always next year. I have just phoned DP with the news and advised him to get a dragon immediately! He is concerned and confused - just the way I like him!
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much Dellydoo, Tigerlinda, Brownbug, Peta, Blackduckies and Dusty for your kind words, it helps so much.
Brownbug, I think the TWW is the worst but good that you are trying to keep busy and stay busy. Sending you lots of stickyvibes.
Peta, thank you, you are right, I just have to try to think of the positives. Iwish you all the best with this (hopefully your last) cycle.
Miss C, I hope your ET went well today. Sending stickyvibes.
BG, 4 eggs is good. Good luck with your ET on Friday. Please wish BW well, and it sounds like her embies are doing great.
Dellydoo, I hope the OHSS is not too bad and wish you the best of luck.
Dusty, the other girls are right, a new FS and New Year is a good thing. I wish you well hun.
Me - I went to a counsellor today and feeling a bit better than yesterday. I just have to think positive and that no embies this cycle doesn't necessarily mean none in the future. FS may decide to do more tests on me and DH, and they will definitely do ICSI next time.
Take care.
Kazza
DD - the first cycle is the worst sweet try and get the dragon from a feng shui place the elephant with the trunk down is also important. Please feel free to ask any q's you can as now I am detached I am much better at applying my Feng Shui skills to TCC.
Thanks TL - DP is now very concerned re size and efficacy of aforementioned mythical creature - I may have snapped a little and told him to just get a frickin dragon - ANY dragon and put it by his side of the bed. He then expressed concern about stubbing his toe in the morning...my response is not repeatable. Thanks so much for your help - I am reading all about OHSS and am just praying I will be able to handle whatever comes my way. Singing "I am strong, I am invincible" also seems to help!
Thanks
Kazza - Good on you for thinking positive thoughts - I guess one thing this is teaching me is this is not a one shot deal! All the very best to you honey.
dellydoo - good luck with transfer - make sure you keep up lots of fluid, things like gatorade and sustagen are helpful. DON'T be afraid to go to hospital if you need to - seriously, BW and i chatted on msn for hours yesterday before she was convinced it was in her best interests - and as much as she is hating being there, it really is the best place for her! last time she struggled through at home, and it took almost a month for her to recover - the hope is that, being in hospital, it should be dealt with much more quickly!
i will seriously be on your case if you're sticking around at home when you shouldn't be!!
now, a question for me! as you all know, i had epu yesterday. the lower half of my abdomen is feeling pretty much ok now, but my actual stomach is very ouchie - it feels really full and bloated - is this normal?
BG - I hear you and I don't think DP will tolerate me being pig headed about it - he is learning that I don't know everything (dammit).
Cannot help you re post EPU feeling until sometime after Friday. Hang in there!
Wow! What a read - all those posts today. This is actually the first time i've posted on this thread, but have recently been active on the tww and clomid/metformin threads, so hoping to join the chatter here also! BTW, i watched oprah today, but it's a secret! DH would think i'm a nutter if he knew ;)
All this talk about dragons has made me laugh. Dellydoo, tell your DP that stubbing his toe is the least of his worries!... i might put one on the shopping list. I have a feng shui book on gardens :)
Will still be catching up where everyone is at - i'm in my tww, cd 25, 1st clomid cycle, just had great result on BT - progesterone level is 65, FS v happy :)
Warm wishes to everyone
Kazza - So glad you are feeling a bit more positive about it all. I'm sure you will fare much better next time.
Dellydoo - Good luck with your battle, soldier, I hope you win your war and collect a great number of healthy eggies! :D
Wow, I know absolutely nothing about feng shui. It's all very interesting. I doubt DH would let me have a dragon by our bedside though
