Juniper, gosh this is strange! My AMH is also 1.5. A re-test two weeks later said it was 1.3! That was depressing. Like, oh ok it's decreasing on a daily basis. My FS did say that the test is unreliable and not definitive. Similar comments from my friend who is an experienced embryologist at Monash IVF. But yeah, obviously for me, it does have some significance, given the endo and ovarian surgery, and the low response .. blah blah blah... But I don't want to give it too much weight. I hate numbers.
    Thanks JoeSpratt and Mrs O'M!

Rest well Postively TTC, good luck with your 2ww.

WW sorry to hear you have a tough decision to make.

    Sarah I am so sorry.

AFM - saw FS today, he isn't concerned that there is anything wrong with me in regards to not having success so far. He said considering all the endo is gone and my uterus and pelvic area are all clean now, he said there is no reason why they won't stick. It is just of those things that something's it just doesn't work. so I start on oestrogen tonight and transfer should be 10th dec. we only have two embryos left so we will transfer both if all goes well.

PosTTC, enjoy your rest! Well done on getting to this point! Hey can I ask, how did you get to use the embryoscope? I just wondered, because it's never been mentioned to us and just wondering in what circumstances you get to use it.

Kel, it is so hard isn't it? When you just don't know what is happening in there, and why. I really hope that it really is just a matter of chance and that the next transfer is the one! Also I might not know your full story, so please excuse this question, but why aren't the embryos being transferred sequentially? I mean, why are you guys favouring double transfers? I have always wondered about that. If you don't feel like explaining things right now, then please do not worry at all!

WW sounds like you have some tough decisions to make i'm so sorry it cant be easy xxx

posTTC wishing all the very best in your tww hopefully finger and toes crossed you get your bfp xxx

Kel really hoping all goes well and they both get transferred for you xxx

afm; so so not happy went to pick up meds today and they said I have to do bloods before I can do this cycle and the bloods will cost me an extra $400.00 that
I would have to pay straight away and I just don't have the extra $400 at the moment so I cant do this cycle so I went and got some clomid which I had a script for
but lets face it I just don't fall pg on clomid but at least I feel like i'm doing something if that makes sense which it doesn't so for the last 2 cycles something has happened
that I cant do iui I feel like something is stopping it if that makes sense so i'm really really p***ed off at the moment so another month wasted

rai, oh no! How frustrating! I'd be angry too! I know what you mean about needing to try something though... Even though we have only a 1% chance for a natural BFP, I cried all night last Monday when I thought we were missing the fertile window... I couldn't cope with the idea of not even having that small chance...

Kel, sorry, I can't remember if you've done clotting/immune testing?

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013

So sorry rai, I can understand your frustration.

WW, our first four transfers were singles but our last one we decided to do a double just to try something different. And this time we are doing a double again because we only have the two left and it is just to basically use them up so to speak so we don't pay for another transfer. Our FS says that an embryo will do what it needs to do regardless of it is part of a double or a single transfer.

Juniper, to be honest I am not sure, we have had blood tests before both IVF cycles but I can't remember exactly what but he said that he is happy with the blood works so I am not sure what that entails. What do both of those tests look for? Is it a blood test?

    Hi again,

Rai what a bummer you must be so frustrated this whole process is so expensive

WW i honestly don't know why we were selected to use the embryoscope in WA only 2 clinics have them I understand its relatively new technology. I googled it over the weekend and found the Melbourne IVF clinic website has a really good piece on it Victoria's Leading Fertility Specialists | Melbourne IVF have a read. So this morning after transfer we were shown the footage of the eggs as they divided etc and explained why some were better quality eggs than others it was amazing and It assists the FS in seeing what my eggs are like for future reference. It cost $350 for the 3 days of 24/7 filming none of which medicare covers

Kel all the best hope you get to transfer both your eggs in a couple of weeks

Have a great evening all x

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013

Kel, the clotting tests are just a blood test. They took about 6 vials (or more?) when I had it done, so you'd probably remember it. It was the one time I ended up puking in the collection room at our clinic (I've done it plenty of other times are regular pathology places, but not at the clinic). The most common immune testing is an endometrial biopsy (to test for elevated uterine NK cells), but that's quite invasive... I haven't had the biopsy done. There are also some auto-immune issues that require just a blood test and others that you'd only investigate if you had other symptoms... A lot of FS don't believe in clotting/immune disorders affecting fertility, so be aware that your FS may dismiss it if you ask about it (or may not, but you won't know unless you ask)... I'm in the frustrating position of having b/t results indicative of a particular auto-immune disease but my GP won't treat it unless (or, more likely, "until") it gets worse. I had planned to ask the FS about it but didn't end up doing an IUI this cycle... If we can't do an IUI in December, I might just have to make an appt...

Thanks for explaining that to me juniper, it's quite interesting all of this stuff. I definitely haven't had them done, 6 vials, stuff that, they find it hard enough getting one for my pregnancy tests haha!! It is frustrating that drs have different opinions and will only act on something if they believe it is worth it. I hope you get some answers with your FS then about it.

Juniper - can you take your BT results showing the auto-immune issues to a nutritionist? I have been reading more about it and so many people have to wait until their dr decides to treat. The nutritionist I met the other day said in many cases diet can change things for the better.

Afm- all BTs were great. So no NK cells showing up. No auto immune issues. Glucose down and insulin levels halved. Could not ask for better results. I am healthy. Still overweight, but healthy :-)
This quiet cycle is flying by......

PosTTC thanks so much for telling me all about the embryoscope. It is really new, really interesting technology. I am keeping fingers and toes crossed for you right now.

Kel, thanks for sharing your story again. That makes sense. Keeping fingers crossed for the 10th.

Juniper, that sounds incredibly frustrating with your GP. That just kills me, that attitude.

AFM, still haven't decided, just waiting to get a bit more advice from the FS. We are leaning towards the lap. My thoughts are, I'll book it in, and just remember I can back out. Even if I'm on the table, I can rip out the anaesthetic and run! I actually heard of someone getting up during a dental procedure and just fleeing, with all the stuff in their mouth.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception Nov - Dec 2013

Williever, very glad to hear all the results are going well so far! My acupuncturist has given me some herbs to help, but she indicated they can only do so much and may not be a great benefit. She did offer to give me the name of a Dr who would definitely treat it, but I kind of got the vibe that the Dr was the type who would treat anything just because the patient asked, not because they agree it's needed. I really want to find someone who believes for themselves that it should be treated.
[edit: Actually, re-thinking that, what I really want is a consultation with an expert on the condition and to hear their opinion as to whether or not it should be treated...]

WW, sounds like a good plan. I had a giggle at your suggestion of ripping out the IV and making a run for it if you changed your mind! And the dental patient too!
