Girls,
in the next few days I will be clearing out the front page. I know that IVF and AC is not the kind of thing where you've got something to report every month, so someone who joins may find that they may not participate when they're not cycling.
But to keep on top of things, and to make it easier to keep up with where everyone's at, if you don't post within a two month period, I will remove your details from the front page. it's not a big deal, if you get back on the rollercoaster after a break, I'll happily put your details back on!

I have no idea what they are going to do.............I had a lap in sep 06 where they cliped my left tube and they could hardly make out the right tube (After repair from ectopic) so thay said there was nothing that could be done with it. they said that there seemed to be no infection when i was under the knife (so to speak) i do have some fluid on my left tube which they did drain at the time so i dont know wether its just that come back again? i worried that because i didnt take my antibiotics for more that 30 hours that im growing a super bug inside me DYKWIM? will finish the course now. Will book in to see my GYN next week but dont know where to begin, what to ask
-
Lou,
Just do whatever it takes to get a grip on that infection. IVF is the ticket for women like us who have tubal issues (I have 100% blocked tubes from a failed tubal ligation reversal) so damaged tubes can be negligible under those circumstances.
-
Hi girls, so sorry for busting in.....
I just wanted to say a HUGE Congratulations Jane!!!!!! I have been snooping after you religiously for the past 2 weeks... YAHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
That is awesome news, you really give me hope! Your numbers are great as well! How many DPT are you with those numbers? I am so damn happy for you!!!!!!
Megan, good luck to you too, I hope your numbers really go up at your next BT.....
-
I will have to call tomorrow and ask what my hcg level was because I didn't even think to ask. Now I want to know!
Jemel, I had my transfer the same day as you. That seems forever to have to wait until the 15th for your BT! Mine was originally this Friday but had it done today because I started bleeding too and now have to have another test Monday. Hang in there, I know it's hard but everyone will tell you it's not over until that BT comes back!
-
Megan, they make you wait that long at my clinic because of the pregnyl shots i was having, they interfere with BT if you do it too early.
-
BIG CONGRATS JANE!!!
Hang in there Megan i have everything crossed for you!
Take care
Racheal
-
Thanks again everyone for all the kind thoughts
Lou - who is filling in for you? They are all pretty good at MIVF, I hope things get sorted for you soon
Jemel - you poor thing, what a long wait, any wonder you are stressed you poor thing
Well, I guess at some point I have to get out of here, although I feel so at home after a year! I will pop back in to say hi and will keep an eye on how everyone is going.
Cheers
-
Geoff Clark - thats who telephoned me this arvo. He sounded very nice but now my heart feels in the bottom of my stomach IYKWIM? He said that i will need the infection to be removed with surgery if the antibiotics wont do it as its deep in my tube (proberly)?
-
Oh you poor thing, but he is an excellent dr so rest assured you are in very good hands, a friend at works daughter went through him and has a little icsi girl and they speak very highly of him. Did he indicate how soon?
eta - sorry I forgot to turn the ticker off
-
the only prob is that i need to have bowel surgery if i need any more opps on my tube as its all stuck together!!
Will telephone GP tomorrow for another white blood cell count to be done then i might feel a little better
-
Bokkie - forgot to mention, I had my transfer 2 weeks ago today, so we are 14 dpo (I think)
Lou - I don't know what to say other than hang in there, I will be thinking of you :hugs:
-
Just checking into see how Megan is going i hope you are more positive today and that the sun is shinning on you
-
yeah anyone heard how megan is?
-
Thanks girls! lol I'm here! I can't get on during the day at work!
I am feeling better emotionally and what will be will be. i didn't ring to find out my HCG levels in the end. I figured it will just make me analyse and stress over it even more!
On a positive note, my boss today offered me another job and to have my contract extended and possibly even made permanent full time. She knows all about the IVF situation and is perfectly fine about it. So, I will be starting training tomorrow for my new job which will help keep my mind off everything. :)
The bleeding has eased off and am just spotting now, and I have had a bit of pain since last night so who knows what is going on inside my body! I am still not confident at a positive result on Monday and that we will be getting ready for a FET very soon!
Lou, I hope everything turns out ok. Sounds like a nasty infection. How is the pain now? Do you have any idea what kind of time frame they give to see if the antibiotics work? Hope you are feeling better today, and keep us up to date!
-
Hi Megan, just checking in on you again today, I cant remember if its today or Monday that your going for another bt?
-
Sorry if this is TMI but my bb's have been really really sore lately and i want af to hurry up so i know where im at. The last time they were this sore was when i had an ectopic!
-
Hi Lou, I'm not going back until Monday so still another couple of days! lol You sound as impatient as me!! LOL ;)
-
Hi ladies
well af finally showed up today (while at the races, great timing!!) i knew she was coming as i had lots of bright pink spotting (which i dont ever recall having b4)Today the bleeding was bright bright red (sorry TMI) but i also never get that, i always have a yucky brown. so im happy about that. Im still having a lot of pain though whuch is alittle worrying.
Megan - i think if youve had no spotting then your on to a winner! Good luck on monday and im sure things will be ok for you xx
-
Lou, hope you had a good time at the races yesterday!
Sorry to hear you are still having a lot of pain. What is the next step? Do you have another checkup soon? I really hope it doesn't come to surgery for you.
I did have spotting (last Tuesday & Wednesday) so I am not hopeful for tomorrow. I don't know whether it was AF or spotting to be honest so I guess I just have to wait and see. At least I will be put out of my misery tomorrow!
-
good luck tomorrow Megan - I have everything crossed for you
Big Hi to everyone
-
Megan - Spotting last tue/wed well that could be implant late and af will be at bay for another 8 mths!! I am hoping for you.
Jane i hope you are feeling well im looking forward to tracking you pg. when are you having you 6 week scan?
Keen - how are you doing?
Zap - how are you getting on to
And where are the new girls?
Well like i said af showed up yesterday so the nurse is taking it as day 1 today. my Gyn doesnt have a plan for me there but i will b seeing her on Thursday which will be day 5 when i should start taking the dreaded HRT.(my cycle are sometimes regular but cant trust my PCOS).
Im looking forward to finally having a cycle not telling anyone this time though as im not having the injections and stuff its a little easier to keep quiet. (so Sez please keep this to yourself)
Got a heap of questions to ask gyn when i go in but will prob forget to take them.lol
Once again good luck 2morrow Megan
-
Thanks girls :)
Hope you're feeling well Jane? are you going to be starting a pg journal? i'll have to try and keep up with how you are going.
Lou, I'll be doing the same as you next time - keeping the cycle quiet. If I get a BFN tomorrow we are going to be doing a FET as soon as we can and won't be telling anyone.
Today we had a phone call from MIL, getting impatient because she didn't know the results of my blood test. We never told her when my appt was and didn't want to tell her at all about the IVF for this very reason. My Mum knows but she has given us our space and I think is too scared to ring and check on us! lol So, next time MIL will not know we are doing another cycle and she can wait until we are 12 weeks to find out once we get our BFP.
-
Lou and Megan - I am going pretty well, scared and anxious (due to the last miscarriage), been feeling very nauseaus as well, but other than that I am really well. I must say I agree with not telling anyone where you are at, we haven't told anyone we are pregnant yet either, we are waiting for our 6 week scan on 24/11 at least, then I have my obs appointment at 8 weeks so we will think about letting family know then. It's just nice to deal with everything in your own time and share stuff when you are ready.
I'll pop back tomorrow night to see how you go Megan - good luck and I would let DH deal with MIL tomorrow if she is being impatient ( that's what I do with my DH)
-
We didn't tell MIL my BT is tomorrow but she knows it is happening "soon". Usually, we would speak to her every 3-4 weeks (which is enough!), and no doubt this week we will hear from her everyday until we give her a result. DH has dealt with her very well and hasn't given too much away so I am very pleased with him in that respect!
-
Jano, that is good pregnancy wise that you are feeling nauseas. My sister had bad morning sickness and her obs said it was good, as it means all the hormones are doing there thing. Even though you feel blah, keep that in your head... good luck for your 6 week scan.. i am so happy for you and DH....
Megan - i have everything crossed for you hun, even my legs..,...i am sure you will be fine...
Hi to everyone else..
love leis x
-
Megan - Hope all went well today, and hopefully your MIL doesn't call again too soon. Will try to check back later tonight and see how you are.
Big hello to everyone else. Have been having a bit of time away from the site. Just visiting for a quick few minutes here and there. AF arrived yesterday, no surprise really. Got myself a new thermometer, which I am excited about. So here's to a new month for us.
Nic
-
Well girls, as expected it's a :bfn:
So, the embryo implanted but didn't stick around according to the results of my last two BT's. I'll be speaking to my Dr about low progesterone next week. I'm sure my LP is too short and I shouldn't have had bleeding 4 days before my scheduled BT.
So, onward and upward to our FET next. DH and I have discussed this at length and we are going to aim to transfer 2 embies this time.
Nic, sorry AF showed her face again! :( It's sad when we get excited over things like a new thermometer isn't it?! lol I think I'm due for one myself.
-
Megan, I'm sorry pet. It's disappointing but I'm glad that at least you got some information from this cycle that will be helpful for fine tuning the next one. If it is a LP problem, this is so easily rectified. Hopefully this will mean you have success next time. Take care of yourself.
You too Nic. I know how disappointing it can be.
Jane, the MS is hard to take isn't it but it is a relief too to know that the hormones are working. Ginger ale is a good friend to cultivate at this time (if you like ginger). Hope you can get lots of rest and eat well when you feel able to.
Loula, good luck for this upcoming cycle.
Hope all you other lovely ladies are well.
-
Megan - sorry to hear your news
-
Thanks girls...I think i dealt with it all last week when the bleeding started, so I'm doing ok now.
Melbo, how do they go about fixing the LP problem? I'll be asking my doc next week but I am trying to find out as much info before I go as I can!
-
Megan, if you are on cycle, the treatment might mean something basic like starting progesterone right after ovulation just to make sure you have enough to carry you through. Hope you have a fruitful discussion with your doc next week.
-
I was on progesterone this time around from the day of transfer and unfortunately didn't make a difference (AF arrived at 11DPT) so maybe the dose needs to be increased. Lucky me! lol I felt awful on that stuff for the first week! I just hope the dr is going to be pro active and look at new ways of doing things until we finally get it right.
-
Hi Ladies,
I am new to the forum and just thought I woul dpop in and say Hi.
Firstly congratulations to Jane - your news really is fantastic and gives other like me such hope. well done.
Megan - so sorry for your news, glad you feel not so bad and had managed in some way to prepare yourself.
I am on my own journey at present, just been thru my 7th Full Stim cycle and had my EPU last Fri with 14 eggs retrieved (Had 6 empty follicles????????) anyway had 10 fertilise which is great news. Am going for a Blast transfer on Wednesday which is very exciting - and then of course the dreaded TWW. Actually can anyone tell me with a bblastie (5d) if you still need to wait the full 2wks b4 doing a HPT??
Excited about the support you all offer each other in a forum like this. IVF makes you feel like an island...... :)
Good Luck lovelies - you all have amazing stories of strength and resilience..
-
Welcome Shaz :) Sorry, I don't have the answer to your question regarding do a HPT earlier when you have had a blastie transferred. I'm sure someone here will know the answer for you though! ;)
All the best for your cycle and especially with transfer on Wednesday. As for the TWW, make sure to pop in here and keep us up to date with your progress! Plus, I think it helps to pass the time a bit!! :)
