hi girls
just a quickie update from me - i'm sneaking back to my FS today for a scan as I'm certain I'm about to O. I'm going to get his final opinion about whether we can still do a FET this month or whether he's firm that we should wait till next month. Fingers crossed I can go ahead this month...I know I'm impatient, but i thought there was nothing to lose in getting FS's 2nd opinion...
Hope all's well

Hi Girls
Yay for you Smithy, no nasties hanging around.
I think I have a dreaded UTI at the moment (I am highly suseptible to them) after my scan on Monday. The chicky who did the scan was new and was poking around there for like 1/2 hr and kept pushing on my bladder.
I'm hoping it will not get too bad as I have another scan on Friday and then hopefully transfer on Monday. Keep up the fluids and Urals and hopefully lots of peeing to get rid of the nasties. Really the last thing I need at the moment.
Hope everyone else is going well. Sorry still no personals, I'm still really grumpy at the moment and over it... Must be the drugs (hopefully).....
-
good luck Kelly...I have noticed quite a few of us havent been up for personals lately! That's OK...we know we are all here for each other anyway
-
hi girls
smithy - glad to hear you're feeling better. hope the TWW is going well!
possums - very much thinking of you.
bub4me - very best of luck for your EPU tomorrow. try to keep positive, just think that you are one step closer
wishingbaby - damn, that is very frustrating. i hope you managed to get hold of her??
sunflowers- hope your EPU went well today!
mrs m - glad to hear things are possibly improving with your dad.
KellyD - hope the UTI goes away and good luck for Monday
AFM - some good news today, I'm having a last minute FET on Monday - yippee! But sheesh, it pays to be pushy, had I not gone back to the FS for another nudge I would have been waiting about another 6 weeks before my FET. Yay, hopefully this is my cycle :D

Hi everyone..it's been a while since I popped in when I had some time to post! But I have been reading and trying to keep up to date with you all.
Mels, great news on the last minute FET. At least there hasn't been a long wait from one cycle to the next. A lovely surprise. Good on you for being a little pushy.. sometimes we have to be!
Bub4me and Sunflowers, hope your EPUs went well today and you're both resting at home. Keep drinking the water... I had to force myself to drink my 2L a day but I honestly believe that is what saved me from OHSS after my stim cycle (22 eggs).
Wishing baby, hope you have been able to catch your FS and sort out what your next step is.. you must be so frustrated. :wall:
Wouldloveabubba, lucky girl on holidays! Hope you're having a relaxing time.
Smithy, my fingers and toes are crossed for you in this tww. Glad to hear you're feeling more comfortable.
JBM, best wishes for your FET this month. Hoep the massage helps to relieve some tension and you're feeling better soon.
Neptune, I always found my temp charts a little over the place. Good luck with yours.
Kelly, FET and a new house.. what a busy month! I'm a big fan of Ural to get rid of UTI. Hope you're feeling better soon too.
Possums, thinking of you..
HI to Mrs M and anyone else I may have missed. Hope you're all going well.
My first BT is not until next thursday in prep for a FET this month.. Still a little while to wait. I'm so impatient!! Enjoy what's left of the week. I spent last weekend trying to get pressies organised for Christmas.. sad isn't it??! But I told DH I need to get organsied now because I don't want to be stuck trying to shop in crowds with morning sickness looming... doesn't hurt to think positive, right!!
Talk soon

What an emotional day! Are you guys generally emotional after EPU? I feel drained, but trying to relax and take care of myself. I was devestated yesterday when I found out they only got 6 eggs out of the 16-18 follies they estimated at my scan. Got a phone call this morning to say that only 1 fertilised. I was upset by the number, but not sure why. We're only getting 1 transferred at a time, so all-in-all this is a positive cycle, we just don't have any to freeze that we can use as back up, which means back onto sniffing and jabbing for me. I guess we just do what it takes to get there, right? We're heading up this afternoon to see it, and I think that will be good. We were s'posed to have the transfer on Monday, but they've brought it forward to tomorrow afternoon, and I think I'll feel better once bubs is in me and can do its thing. DH has been concerned about the freezing part (altho' happy to do it for the BFP), so am trying to think that this is natures way of reassuring DH and still giving us a healthy embie.
Have lots of tears today, but am trying to stay positive and look towards taking care of myself and focussing on the positive part of tomorrow.
Hope you gals are going well in your stage of this rollercoster!
:stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy: to us all!

hi girls
Smithy .. GOODLUCK . I will be joining you with 2 embies onboard tomorrow ... We did EPU Wednesday, we originally thought I had 14 eggs, only 12 got picked up and 7 fertilised .. 2 go back in 7am tomorrow  I was a bit sore last night, but feeling good today .. HAVE so many needles to do over 2ww and tablets ....
Dh's sperm was good so they did 6 with ICSI and all fertilised and the other 6 natural ivf and sadly only 1 fertilised, but it's GOOD quality , we have 7 good eggs .....
1 more sleep and I will have 2 onboard ... Blood test will be around 19-22nd November
Lisa XO
Big waves, hugs and prays to everybody waiting, stimming and prepping xo
-
Bub4me - ((HUGS))) on 1 embie ..it only takes 1 ... we did EPU same day .. and doing ET same day ( tomorrow ) ... GOODLUCK okay.
I'm sitting beside you on the rollercoaster hon. fingers x to us

Kaydee.. OMG you just reminded me to keep drinking water ... I'm off to grab a big glass now :D
stay positive!!! Lisa xo
-
sunflowers- well done...good results for you...and I hope this cycle brings you your BFP
bub4me- it is an emotinoal time...ivf is so much strain and tension, i think things build up. It only takes one! I'd say you will feel a bit better after the ET
smithy- good luck in the 2WW!
MrsM- hello and hope you are doing OK and that things are perhaps improving with your dad
kaydee- you're very organised for xmas! impressive.... hope your FET arrives soon
Mel- great news with the FET planned for monday! maybe a xmas present early for you
Kelly- hope you are feeling a bit better
JBM- hope you are well and your spirits are lifted a bit
jodie- hello, wishing you the best
afm-- well trying to track ovulation using OPKs this month, in the hope of trying with a natural cycle in case of a miracle, before we resume IVF. I think things are a bit out of whack though after the D&C. Still wish we were already able to resume IVF, even though I know the time out is probably something I need right now emotionally.
Still pretty emotional and up and down after all that's happened. I cry when I see babies quite a bit etc... other times I feel really angry and bitter about it all. But I also have moments of happiness and hope in my life, so that's a start.
-
sunflowers and bub4me - congrats you girls on getting through your EPUs and getting to ET stage! drink loads of water!
bub4me - it is a really emotional time. good on you for being so positive about your 1 beautiful embie - remember, it only takes 1 to get a BFP.
I'll look forward to riding the TWW rollercoaster with you girls from Monday after my FET.
Here's hoping a pre-christmas BFP for us all!
mels x
-
Possums - ttc is a pain in the rear .. SO many up's and downs ...before my daughter, I'd also cry when I saw babies and feel really angry and bitter about my infertility ... we don't plan on doing ivf again .. this is just our very last shot at completing a family .. we are blessed. I just want to give you a big ((HUG)))) stay strong ... live today to the fullest and let tomorrow fend for itself .. ttc can rob you of so many years xo GOODLUCK!!!
-
Mels .... can't wait until we are all on the same rollercoaster .. goodluck Monday xoxo
Lisa
-
sunflowers- thanks...DH and I have discussed how it's certainly robbed the past year, and how hard a year it's been with losses too.... trying to still live and enjoy life in the moment is an aim of ours...it's easier said than done isnt it! when the whole yearn for a baby thing still sort of hangs over things. I'm trying though.
hope you are off the rollercoaster soon
-
Hi ladies
Bub4me & sunflowers: Good luck with you ET tomorrow. Hope you both have sticky ones there.
Possums: thank you for your concern, even with all you are going through you are still here for all the other girls.
Mels77: I'm having my ET on Monday as well. 2 x frosties so we'll be in the TWW together... Are you having 1 or 2 put back. It is good to see that a little pushing got you there sooner. Even though our FS are the experts I think we should have some say about what happens to our bodies.
AFM: Uto seems to have settled down a lot today . Hopefully it doesn't rear it's head again after my scan tomorrow. It's been a busy couple of days for us... We bought a house yesterday and settlement is due on the 16th Jan, so by my guess that would make me about 3 1/2 mths UTD (positive thinking and all that). Also DH got his Letter of Offer on a new job which he starts in 3 weeks. So as they say new house, new baby. But at least I think I'll now have lots of distractions in my TWW. Anyway, I'll drop back in tomorrow to check on you all and to confirm my lining is now perfect for the ET on Monday.
-
possums: fingers crossed for you. hang in there, i think as time goes on you are less emotional, well i was anyway but sometimes still have bad days and as you said it's ok to have a bad day. good luck my friend xxoo
smithy: glad you're feeling nearly normal again, sorry but you just can't be completely normal in the TWW as it sends you a bit crazy :nahnah:( well me it does). good job with the $$$ too, you did well there.
sarah: hi. counting down to doctors
mels: hoping this is the month for you with your last minute FET. :goodluck:see you in TWW soon
kelly: i'm not long behind you, rob FET on thur next week. good luck
kaydee:m hoping for a christmas BFP
bub4me: look after yourself. hope tfer goes well. :egg:
lisa: good job with eggs. see you in TWW very soon
afm: well day off tomorrow, yeah. dh are going to have a great day together. and hopefully i won't be thinking of the horrible dentist today. and i have to go back next week on wednesday. so i'd better be on time for FET on thur or else.
i am feeling much better and more relaxed now and even though i am not as positive i just think if it's a good or bad egg i can't do anything about it. but fs did say we'll prob do some extra support this month. only 3 frosties left. :SAAF:
-
Possums - sorry about the miscarriages, they are heartbreaking also (hugs))))))
JBM - goodluck next thursday, I hope the dentist goes okay and does not delay anything!
Kelly - Congrats on the house and excellent your joining US also very soon..goodluck MONDAY!!!

JBM Goodluck with FET next week
AFM Well I finally got a hold of my FS apparently they had all had the last three days off so there was no one in the office. Anyway the nurse has given me her mobile number now so if I need to contact her after hours I can. Anyway I let them know that I hadn't done the trigger and the nurse said that it was too late now to do it and my four eggs that I had will have turned into cysts now so we have to wait till next cycle and start all over again. So for now I say bring on AF.

hi everyone i have been out of action for a while now as I wanted to keep my mind off baby stuff for a while but couldnt keep away from here!
I see bel is pregnant, im very pleased, it gives me hope.
I found out my partner has 89% abnormal sperm :( i honestly thought he would be ok. Also he is only producing 1.5 mls of fluid when the average is 2 mls and anything above 85% abnormal sperm is bad. He got some blood tests yesterday for hormone levels and thyroid and such. results next week. Im so relieved to find an answer yet very disappointed as we will most likely have to do ICSI or use a sperm donor and it brings tears to my eyes to think i cant have his baby. I only want to have children with him not just for me. Has anyone got any advice or have their partners got the same problem. We have waited 2 years and just want to see some progress but are always hitting a wall. We have a referral for a urologist but he wouldnt give me one for monash IVF on the gold coast. I know we have gotten pregnant once but now we know the blighted ovum was mostly likely caused by a deformed sperm and I dont want it to happen again. I hate this waiting game! wat should we do next. My testing is soon and im scared there will be some other hurdle on top of this. Im so depressed I told my mother and she gives no support, she thinks we shouldnt even be trying because of our age but if we hadnt we would have to go through all this further down the track anyway! Would I have to do IUI or is ICSI the same thing? ADVICE PLEASE!
im sorry its all about me but im pretty upset and just need some positive outlooks. I came back and more of you are now expecting and im still left behind. i just want to see a heartbeat!!!!
-
Evening everyone - hope you are all enjoying whatever it is you are doing ;)
Possums - so glad that you are getting there and starting to hope again. Where would we be without hope, all of us that is all we really have isn't it - HOPE...... and I hope like anything that your turn will be just around the corner. Take care sweetie and don't let those bad days get you too down.
Sunflowers - good luck for you ET tomorrow
Mels77 - good luck to you to for your FET on Monday and well done for getting the ball rolling sooner.
KellyD - congrats on your house and I am sure that you are right about new house/new baby - lots of luck for your ET on Monday.
JBM - enjoy your day off with DH tomorrow and I hope that the Dentist went OK... and not too painful. Good luck for Thurs next week.
Babytruj - best of luck for your HSG scan on Friday. Have a safe trip to London next week.
Wishingbaby - I am so sorry that you have to start again, what a pain in the you know what. Thinking about you and sending you lots of love.
Smithy - lots of love and luck and positive vibes for your BT next week.
Bub4me - EPU is very emotional that's for sure - the whole process is, isn't it? I am sorry that you were devestated with the results and it is hard when you don't get the outcome you expect. But it does only take 1 little sticky embie for a BFP, so I am sending you lots and lots of sticky vibes and a big hug..
21 - so glad to see that you have joined us again. I have been wondering how you are doing. I am sorry that I can't offer any advice with your DH sperm or ICSI as we have only done IUI and IVF, but I wish you both all the luck in the world.
Kaydee78 - good luck with your BT.
WLB - hope you are doing OK, I think 1 week to test.
Mrs M - only 5 weeks left - hope you aren't going to insane waiting for your appointment. Glad that your Dad must be OK, but sorry to hear about your SIL, I hope it all goes well .
If I have forgotten anybody - I deeply apologise and send you and everyone here a great big hug.:grouphug:
-

babytruj- glad things are on track with you...and hope the trip is great
jodie- hi and all the best to you
kelly- glad you are feeling a bit better now
sorry to anyone i have missed! it gets busy in here
-
hi girls
kellyD - yay! we'll be TWWrs together! I'm having 1 put back. What an exciting time for you, new house, DH new job...things are really moving! Will cross my fingers for us both for our ET's on Monday. Glad your UTI has settled down.
JBM - how exciting a FET on Thurs! we'll also be TWW'ing together. Bring it on - will have fingers crossed for you.
Babytruj - good luck with your HSG scan and enjoy your London trip (good luck also with the dancing exam)
wishingbaby - so sorry about your set-back. damn, this is hard enough without having to deal with FS's being absent. how very frustrating. will pray for a quick visit from AF for you so you can get moving again.
21 - glad you came back to see us. I can't speak from experience, but a friend of mine had ICSI with her DH's extremely poor sperm - and they now have a healthy baby boy. Don't give up hope. Perhaps start investigating your IVF options? Sounds like IUI wouldn't help for you as it is only useful if the sperm is good (as I understand). Try not to be scared at the prospect of IVF ... it is a gift to help us all get that BFP that we are otherwise struggling to get. Hang in there. And good on you for trying this early - you're absolutely right that if you waited you'd be dealing with these issues in another 10+ years (and possibly also dealing with more issues if you were older).
Jodie - hi to you - hope all's well.
sunflowers and Bub4me - hope you're both feeling well after EPU. Then climb aboard the TWW rollercoaster :p
Possums - thinking of you. You're a very brave women. Hang in there, it won't be long till you have another BFP.
I think that's everyone? So sorry if I missed you.
AFM - had my pregnyl trigger last night. Damn that thing hurt!! I feel like I've been punched in the tummy! It was the first time I'd had pregnyl - and hopefully the last! Waiting to hear from my clinic the time for my Monday FET, then onto a TWW...and  no AF...
Mels xx
-
Aaargh my post just disappeared into cyberspace ...
21 - I awoke from my EPU to discover they had done ICSI due to DH's sample not "prepping up too well". We weren't expecting that because I'm the one with the dodgy hormone system. Anyhow, it was very successful ... lots of frosties ... and now I'm pregnant!! Don't be scared of ICSI - it has a high success rate. For us, after 2 years of TTC and working our way through the various infertility trts with no success - one cycle of IVF/ICSI did the trick - it seemed so easy - great for you if you can fasttrack straight to that step.
Mels, KellyD - good luck for your FETs on Monday :crossfingers:
Babytruj - good luck with your HSG
Sunflowers - good luck for ET today ... into the tww
Wishbaby - well done for being so calm and positive about this cycle ... hope AF arrives soon and your journey continues quickly (and successfully) ...
JBM - countdown to FET ...
Bub4me - I was a bit emotional after my EPU ... I found the ending of Barbie in Princess & the Pauper particularly touching and was thinking that I seriously needed to get-a-grip on reality!! There is so much hope and expectation riding on it all so it's perfectly understandable. Sending you a big  and lots of :stickyvibesgirl: for today.
Possums, Jodie, MrsM - hi
-
Ttc#1and 21 - i can understand your frustration on wanting to get started and it's such a shame that your mother is not supportive. To answer your previous question iui and icsi are very different icsi is where they take your eggs and inject them with a single hand picked sperm in the lab then put the embyo back. Iui is where they take a semen sample from your partner and they wash it and then inject it straight into your fallopian tube and allow them to fertilise your egg fairly naturally. Due to your dh's results you would pretty much have to go with icsi. As for your doctor not wanting to refer you yet... Is your dr a fertility specialist or a gp. If they're a gp go somewhere else with your test results and demand a referal to a monash ivf specialist. It's your rite to begin when you want. I hope this has helped. If you are not doing anything tomorrow there is a ttc meet up at southbank and i have met a couple of the ladies before and i think you would find coming along very inspiring and informative. I live at mudgeeraba and have offered anyone from the coast a lift so if you wanted to go pm me and i can take you up. Good luck sweetie.. It's an interesting journey.

Hi,
Just wanted to say hello and send good luck to all of you. :bluedust:
I'll be starting Lucrin next week for my first IVF cycle and am very nervious at the moment but also exited that it's finally going to start. We're doing PGD because of a genetic condition and will use ICSI with PICSI sperm selection due to my partners poor SCSA result.
Possums: thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed that things look up soon. :grouphug:

HI again girls thankyou for all the repsonses! Too many to name! I have researched ICSI and I feel real good about it as long as I dont have any fertility issues it should work great! It was my GP who is generally really good he said he wants my partner to see a urologist first but It has been 2 years and we just want to get started with ivf, is there any reason Y we cant just go to an ivf clinic? do u HAVE to do all the available Gp tests before going, I mean They do all the tests again anyway! I will ask for an ivf referral next time we go back as I dont want to waste money on all these treatments that arent proven to work on abnormal sperm. I will keep U all updated. Oh and im sorry I couldnt make it today to the meet up in brissy I had a nursing exam on and didnt see the post til just now! would have liked to though.
Love you all!
-
Ontrack - I didn't realise you were PG! Congratulations :cheer: I am currently going through my first IVF, and had pretty much heard that we shouldn't expect to get a BFP the first time around, that it takes a few goes and rarely happens on the first try, so you are an inspiration. I will keep thinking of you when times get rough. I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months!!
Had better run - am off for my ET now. I'm hoping our little embie (which we saw yesterday - BEAUTIFUL) will snuggle in for the TWW and that AF will stay away!
Hope everyone's having a great day with various ETs, EPUs, TWWs and general sniffing and jabbing.
:pray::stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgirl::pray:

Hi Girls
Thanks for all your positive thoughts, but I need to rant now......
Well had follow up scan today, hoping the lining had increased from 8mm to 9mm for our FET on Monday and the scan showed the lining to be at 7mm (WT??). Wasn't suppose to go to the clinic after the scan, they were going to call but with the decrease I needed to see someone to find out what was going on.
Well I've been told that the decrease can happen..... So now have to increase my Progynova to 6mg a day and have another scan on Tuesday to hope the lining has increased to 10mm and now hopefully for the FET next Friday 14th November.
Has anyone else had this happen to them.....
-
hi girls ...
ET took place around 8am. It went very very well! I was given 2 vallium while in prep to relax my uterus so did the other girls waiting with me, made a couple of new friends today, then it took place, the scientist spoke to us while i was sitting waiting to lie down and pop my legs up in the stirrups (sp?) and the best egg out of them all is the natural ivf drop on egg, it was a 2 day, 4 cell and the best ICSI was a 2 day, 4 cell and my Dr was happy , the other 5 are a little fragmented and may not even make it to freezing, we will know the fate of them in 2 days. THIS MAY be our only shot and hubbie and I are okay with that, we are not doing this again ... having said that, after ET I went back to recovery and was given a brandy and another 2 vallium to relax me completely ... I got home and started watching Juno and passed out for hoursssssssssssssss I've had some twitches allready and I've allready had a little weird feeling that the natural ivf egg is a little boy and may be my sticky ... *fingers x* that's the 1st thought I got, so i'm gonna run with that .... Blood test is 22nd November and not before!! 16 days to wait .... I'm honestly OKAY if we cna't have anymore kids ....
I'm NOT giving up on this cycle though, we have 2 excellent eggies in me and sticky vibessssssssssss now :)
P.s Sorry for no personals .. will be back to do them later!!
LISA

21 ? I?m glad you feel a bit better with more information. Its always great when you have a better understanding of what is going on.
Possums, hang in there
Melss77, sorry to hear the Pregnyl injection hurt. Its gonna be less painful than actually giving birth, and for a great cause. Holding fingers for you
On Tra_k Congratulations
Everyone else, good luck and have a good weekend. I?ll try pop in while I?m away, but not sure how busy things will be
I had my HSG scan today, and it went ok. I was expecting worse, but its about the same as having an internal ultrasound, with a bit more lasting discomfort from the dye, but seems ok now The doc who did the scan said that the tubes all looked ok ? but I have to wait for my doc to confirm. Not what we wanted to hear, as we wanted to see a blockage, to explain why we have not conceived. Will see what the doc has to say next week, and see where we go from here;)

21andttc#1 - Hey.. You haven't missed the meet upin Brissy.. It's tomorrow (Saturday) morning) We're meeting at South Bank at 9.00am for coffee.. The offer still stands if you wanted to go..There's about 8 of us at the moment... Goodluck to all the other ladies

Brissie Girls?
lilmisshaveachat - is there a thread for Brissie girls? I'm IVF#1 (had first ET today) and would be interested in catching up with some Brissie girls if it works out. Can't make it tomorrow - we're moving house and relaxing post ET. I'd like to know if there are any more get togethers, if you can include me.
-
Hi bub4me..
There will be more catch ups in Brissy.. This is the second one and I missed the last one but was at the first... When the next one comes along I will let you know.. Otherwise there is a forum right down the bottom of the listed groups as a meet up and groups forum that you can keep an eye on.. Congrats on you ET.. I hope you are going well and I will keep an eye out to see how you are travelling... I lurk a lot but don't post much cause i'm on a natural cycle before starting serophene to stimulate my ovaries next cycle.. FS has us doing this for 3 cycles and then it will be IVF for us.. We are unexplained but I did have a Lap and they found a little bit of Endo and some scarring of one of my tubes so who knows how this will all play out... Good luck with moving house and the TWW..
Dee

LETS GO GET SOME BFP GIRLS
-
hey guys just a quick question, if you have a referal from a gp to see a urologist will it cost anything? i dont want to waste money on something we dont need. I cant seem to find an answer anywhere and cant ring anyone as it is the weekend and would love to know! also I was considering doing ivf at a place called westmead fertility clinic in sydney the prices are unbelievable! its a not for profit clinic and its only 1500 upfront for first ivf icsi cycle and u get 1000 back after medicare!!! AND only 185 or so dollars for an iui! do u think maybe it is better to go to somewhere more expensive, is ivf a get what u pay for type thing? its cheaper if we fly down for treatment and would love to know what u think!
