congrats murraycod on your "surprise"!!! hope everything goes well and you are holding your littlie in about 9 months time

good luck nire for your transfer on Sat. Great collection # and fert rate! May you get your BFP too!

Hi to everyone else, hope you aren't travelling too badly and can look forward to a great weekend!

AFM - seems like life hasn't quite finished kicking me while I am down. After my d&c on Monday, my gran died (peacefully) Tues morning. Was 3 weeks out from celebrating her 90th b'day so she had at least lived a great life but still a shock as well. Funeral next Monday. None of the family know about the m/c, but definitely not the time to telling them either. FX that is the end to all the bad news, not sure if I could take much more at the moment. At least everything went well with the d&c and have follow up with the FS in 6 weeks to plot where we go to from here. Anyone able to give me an idea of how long I will continue to bleed for?

    So sorry jo.....

i bled on and off a bit for about two weeks - was a pain because youre not supposed to wear tampons and not a big fan of pads tbh.... AF arrived 6 weeks and 3 days after D&C.... I think vic says hers arrived 5 weeks 2 days after D&C... The grief was pretty raw for the first week, the 2nd week was better, but I probably didn't feel right emotionally for a month.... Then I was just eager for AF to arrive so it could be the end of a chapter....

Be kind to yourself - you are doubly grieving at the moment so things will be pretty tough....

you can put me on the October list
Yay, yay, yay! Love it! Was getting so depressed about that empty list!

Treenie, sorry to hear you're still waiting for your lap. I hope they give you a date very soon and that you don't have much longer to wait.

Joe, I'm so terribly sorry to hear you lost your gran the day after your d&c. As if you weren't dealing with enough grief. We lost DH's dad suddenly 4 months after my d&c and that was hard enough. As for your recovery questions, I bled for 17 days. I had my d&c on a Monday, had light bleeding for almost a week and then suddenly had heavy bleeding on Sunday night. It tapered off again after a couple of days and then did the same thing again the following Sunday. It tapered off more quickly that time and stopped mid-week. AF showed up 5 weeks after the d&c. I found the physical recovery very easy, but the emotional recovery has been long and hard. I still struggle some days, even though it has been almost 10 months.

hi girls, i hope you don't mind me popping in, i have a few questions to ask.....

for those of you on coq10 did you start slowly and increase the dose over time ? i have started taking it but have been feeling unwell and wondered if it might be from that ?

also has anyone been on or heard anything about the drug Luveris ? im having that added to my cycle along with the gonal f to give me some LH to try and get some more mature eggs (last cycle i had 25+ follicles and only 6 eggs)

    thanks

Murraycod: congrats on your BFP!!! Sending lots of sticky vibes your way!

Hi to everyone else! Hope everyone is well!

AFM: I am well-and-truly ready for AF to go away now! I have had the worst cramps this time and it has almost made DH want to stay at his parents! Lol! Puregon injections are going well- 4th one tonight and I can't wait til my ultrasound Monday morning! I hope my body I responding to the FSH and that I will get a few good growths this cycle!
DH seems to think that this treatment is going to 'fix' everything and that we will get a BFP in no time, I am not as positive! I just hope that this brings us a little closer to having our dreams realised! I don't want to dampen his spirit though, he has been so good with everything- he told me off last night for not relaxing after my injection (we were out shopping when I did it and felt a bit sickly for about an hour post-injection)! Apparently I am to rest straight after so I don't feel sick! Haha, he can be so cute sometimes!

Sorry about the vent/rant! I don't really have anyone to talk to at home about all this stuff- we aren't telling anyone that we are having treatment. Not because we are ashamed, we aren't, just that I'm worried Family will not be as supportive as what I would like them to be...

Jo - we dont tell anyone while we are cycling. Its too hard when it doesnt work. Our family knows we are doing ivf, but we have told them we are doing it privately, and they are good about it. My mum is always excited to ask whats happening and I usually say I am waiting for fs appt ot af.

Hi minnie! I was taking 150mg for months before increasing the dose. I increased to 300mg first and then to 600mg. I haven't had any s/e from it, but I have heard that it's possible. The main reason I increased gradually was due to cost as the one I was taking from the beginning costs $40 for 30 tablets and I was trying to find a cheaper alternative that I was still confident was good quality. Are you taking it with a meal that contains some fat?

Jo, sorry to hear AF has been nasty. I know that experience all too well. FX for great news at your first scan!

    *edit*
The other reason for the gradual increase was because my acupuncturist originally only recommended 150mg. Then, when I asked about the higher doses a few months ago she said I could double it (ie 300mg) and she has only just recently started recommending 600mg for her IVF patients.

Minnie, I've cleared my inbox, sorry love I took 600 mg of the CoQ10 from the start, I didn't feel any ill effects from that. N2L said that was a recommended dose and then I spoke to a naturopath and that's what she recommended also.

Minnie, I have not had any side effects from the coQ10 except more energy and better nails. I'm hoping I also have better eggs/embryos!!! I hope you feel better soon

Not long back from appt at Monash. My Nurse gave me a quick run down of drugs. It's worse than I thought!

My FS has me on the pill, augmentin, Clexane, intrallipid infusion, thyroxine, 3 pessaries a day, filgrastim, saizen, synarel, puregon, baby aspirin, prednisolone, HCG injection into the uterus at EPU (or transfer?? Can't remember!), the DHEA until pickup, melatonin, the trigger....and whatever else I couldn't read while looking at the sheet which was upside down from me I have to go back next Friday for a proper briefing and to pickup the basics.

The nurse also said my symptoms of headaches and pains and teary outbursts are the pill. Yippee!

Oh, and the prices at Monash are going up on November 1 I just miss out on the cheaper prices so it will cost approx $500 more *sigh*

N2L can you pay for it early? I did that when my clinic upped their prices in sept.

No Vic I asked. Apparently Medicare takes it from the day you start the fsh injections.

wow, n2l - that's a lot of meds. i knew the new protocol would have extras thrown in, but it's quite a bit more when you see it listed like that! I have my appt with monash next week, be interesting to see what he recommends. : )

I just remembered two I forgot Andie! Estradot patches and dexamethsone.

I will be very interested to see how you go

I have to warn you that the extra meds cost a lot more I already had to drop the stem cell therapy because at over $1500 I couldn't afford it at the moment on top of the rest of it.
