Hey Nic,
Just wanted to encourage you to keep at the weight loss! I have been trying to lose weight for years and I am FINALLY doing it- it's hard work and an expensive thing too... I currently do 3 personal training sessions a week and I am on a fairly strict food plan too, but it is worth it! I have lost nearly 20 kg in 4 months!
With food, I substitute white processed foods for brown foods- white rice for brown rice, white bread for wholemeal and I cut out potatoes (unless I've just done a hardcore workout)... I also stopped drinking soft drink and just drink water and tea... Green tea, fish oil capsules or flax seed oil, and protein shakes are magic when it comes to weight loss...
Trust me I know it is easier said than done, but just take it slow and don't think if it as a diet- I always sabotage myself when I do, and let yourself be naughty once in a while without punishing yourself! You deserve it!

Thanks Jo. I'm trying so hard. I know it's for the best reasons to keep going, just gets annoying when ya try so hard and don't get results. It something I really need to do I know for me and my own health let alone ttc aswell!

No problems Nic! Forgot to say that my trainer sent me to a fitness and nutrition class and in that they have said that as long as you are doing intense interval training, weight will come off!!! I can email you the handouts I got if you would like! Also, try to do weight work at least twice a week, and go at it as hard as you can, doing weights will keep you burning calories even when you are laying in bed sleeping! The muscles have to burn the calories to heal so for the next 2-3 days, you will burn more calories than if you do a cardio session... :)

Juniper, I can take over the list for a few days if you would like... I have my exam today but will be home studying for next weeks exam anyways so my computer will always be on!!! Let me know if you are happy for me to do it! :)

FS appointment today- testing revealed no 'reason' for my 2 MC's.
I'm doing another stim this month in the hope of having a bigger freezer stash, this time round.

Feeling a bit down- my BFF is cranky with me for not showing enough interest in her pregnancy- she's due 2 days after I would have been with my 2nd MC.
FFS- I ask her about her PG about once a week....
It's freakin hard.

Today is O day !!
Hooray ! The clomid worked and so did my ovidrel injection last night.
my scan showed 2 mature follicles and they both ruptured... Good news !

(Rant coming up)
Now for the sad news... DF had an op on his bottom on tuesday and he is have trouble performing. (the surgeon says this is completely normal) i dont think we're going to catch the eggy ))): im devastated.... I have so many mixed feelings.... I feel resentful towards DF which is completely unfair as it is not his fault he needed an op... I feel ripped off and i feel dissapointed.... Everything ive been through this cycle, its been tough emotionally & physically, my work has suffered.... the inside of my elbows are so bruised & swollen from having BT's everyday for 6 days while waiting for my eostrogen to rise. The ovidrel has given me aweful cramps & i just feel so BLAAAAHHH !!!!!!!

We DTD on saturday (today is thursday) do you think the spermies from saturdays shenanigans might still be swimming around in my tubes??? I really hope so... Supposed to start pessaries tomoz & continue ovidrel boosters every 3 days starting from the 4th... I think im gonna ring the clinic tomoz & get my nurse to tell me what to do.... So confused

So im sorry i hardly ever stop by & when i do i just talk about myself but tgeres quite a few of you to keep up with + my internet connection is terrible where i live (outskirts of Perth)

Yay, am about to ovulate as well... Took trigger injection just 15 mins ago and will have FET on coming Wednesday! I can't wait to be PUPO again. Was a bit nervous about injection, haven't had to do it since April, but all went well. Was also over the blood tests, every morning for the last 4 days. Next one will be to check if I'm pregnant...

That would be great! :) I find the easiest way is to "Reply with Quote" to the previous one, remove the bits in square brackets at the start and end and then go through line by line adding 1 to all the CD and DPO numbers. Well, I am home from my ultrasound and tbh I am really unsure of how the rest of this cycle is going to go... On Monday I had 1 follicle on my right side measuring at 5mm and one on my left measuring at 4.5mm, today the right one measured at 7mm and the left at 6mm- not much growth happening, even with the increased dosage. :wall:
My FS and my nurse don't want to increase my dosage again right now as I would have to be scanned again Monday, but because of the long weekend they are closed until Wednesday... Being that I am CD13 now, by my next scan I will be CD18 and if I don't have some serious growth by then I'm pretty sure the cycle will be cancelled... I know that this occurs a lot but I was really hoping I would be one of the lucky ones who would just have everything fall into place for them- not in the way of getting pregnant straight away, but in the meds working the way they were supposed too and it just needing to be 'fine-tuned'...
Sorry for the rant, I'm gonna head back to bed and try to get some more sleep in... Maybe i'll wake up feeling a little better too...

Just wanted to sneak in and say Jo_white don't lose heart. My bfp came from a trigger at cd20 and I only managed the one dominant follicle with that. From my experience when they increased my dose at your stage I ended up with too many follicles for OI and then the cycle was cancelled. The fear of cancellation was so huge for me so can imagine how you are feeling. Got everything crossed things go as planned. Big big hugs.

AFM ! We managed to DTD this morning... DF performed wonderfully ! I just hope its not to late... I did an OPK & it showed a strong line still so FX
Only prob is he hadnt ejac since satdee so the swimmers might be a bit old & tired. .. Go spermy go !!!! Atleast i know the treatment worked & next cycle we can DTD till our hearts content coz DF will be allll bettterrr !

Hi all,

A couple of people have asked me about my protocol. Had an appointment with the ivf nurse yesterday and had it explained. Here it is :lol:

Pre-cycle: DHEA 75mg, Melatonin 4mg, CoQ10 600mg, vitamin D 1000 IU, high strength omega fish oil 1gm for at least four months prior to egg collection. Continue to take everything while cycling except DHEA (which is stopped when FSH starts).

Day 1 - 21 : Birth control pill
Day 17 - : Synarel spray twice a day
Day 27 Blood test to check down regulated
Day 29 (approx) - Start 450 IU puregon, 1mg dexamethsone (steroids), filgrastim (g-CSF), and 3mg Omnitrope (human growth hormone). take filgrastim and dexamethsone until Beta test.
Day 37 - scan and Intralipid infusion 500ml.
After Day 37 (depending on scan results) -trigger with ovidrel. Start taking Doryx (antibiotic) 500mg twice daily for five days.

Egg pickup.

Day after egg pickup: Progesterone pessaries three times a day, Estradot patches, 100mg Astrix (aspirin), 40mg Clexane until pregancy test.

Have intercourse night before embryo transfer.

Day of embryo transfer (five days after EPU) : PPET Pregnyl Pre Embryo Transfer where pregnyl is injected via catheter into uterus prior to transfer.

DP has to take antibiotics for one week when I start Puregon.

I also have to take thyroxine because my thyroid test came back elevated at 5.

The grand total for all the extra drugs (on top of the usual ivf cycle cost) is over $5,000. For that. I need a panadol and a stiff drink ;)

Sorry to say, the ovidrel will give you a +opk. You can't rely on opk or hpt until the trigger is out of your system (up to 12 days).

Ohh bugger. Didnt know that.. They didnt tell me so... Although i guess they didnt think id be doin opks at home coz its their job to track me and tell when im O.

On wednesday arvo they said ..

"have intercourse tonight and start you proj pessaries this coming friday"

does that mean i was going to O on thurs or do you think id already O'd on wednesday?? We didnt dtd until friday morning.. My eggs wouldve been gone by then hey ? Jeez!! Im gonna ask my nurse at my clinic appointment tomorrow.

Hi Curtysgirl, we ttc for two and a half years before I found a new FS who discovered immediately that I had blocked tubes. We went straight to ivf as although I ovulate there is no way for natural conception to ever occur.

I hope you don't have to go down the ivf path and that you are successful with OI. Good luck hon.

Hi everyone me n hubby went and saw fs today.the gonal f injections apparently worked to well and i sm now at high risk for ohss so we wont be using a trigger shot.fs wants to wait n see if a egg releases naturally.ive got everything crossed.

Curtsygirl - We were ttc for 2 years 3 months before our first IVF. Had 2 times IUI prior to that and quite a few ovulation tracking months. Also had a laparoscopy and moderate endometriosis was found. Otherwise unexplained infertility. First time IVF gave us our BFP, but had missed m/c 11 weeks into pregnancy. Now onto our first FET, fingers crossed. My FS was quite pushy for IVF, we weren't ready for it at the time, then changed over to another FS, we took another half year before we felt ready. At the time it felt like a big step, now I've been thinking, why didn't we do it earlier. I was really hoping to fall pregnant naturally, I suppose who isn't thinking that in this forum... And it does happen for some lucky people :)

Cutsygirl - we only tried for a year before to fs. My dh was having trouble dtd - he has never had a great appetite anyway but it was not working at all for us. We started first cycle of iui 6 months later but was cancelled as dh count was too low. We then had to wait another 3 months to start ivf as our dr was away and then we had an overseas trip planned. 1st ivf bfn. Waiting now for af to arrive to do natural fet.

The worst thing about me is my impatience and its freakin killing me.... Im so impatient !!!! Weve been trying since march 2010 and were doing our first cycle of tracking and OI. I really hope it works. My FS went whole hog ! I had a hysterosalpingogram to check for endo & blockages / blocked tubes and im all clear. The clomid worked and so did the ovidrel trigger ! and after all that worry (see my previous posts) turns out i wouldnt have O'd until the friday morning which is when we eventually dtd. Coz aparantly you O around 36 hours after the injection ...so perfect timing STOKED ! and i released 2 eggs so FX for atleast one ferti !!!

We were trying for 6 months before going to the FS, I was already 33, and did Clomid for six months first.... THEN went to IVF after TTC for about 14 months all BFN....

FS gave us the option of IVF or IUI, and I decided to go straight to IVF, as we could afford it at the time (i'd just sold a house) and it was higher odds of success.... Dr told me that IUI was 10% chance and IVF was 30%.... or something along those lines...

Plus I was about to turn 35 by this stage, and thought increasing the odds was the best chance....

have since had 3 IVF Stimulated cycles, and two FET's in between one of those... 1st 4 were BFN, and last one resulted in a missed miscarriage....

Whoever is doing the list could you please remove me for now, thanks very much.

Thanks MissB. I sure hope so! To be honest, it's hard to think it will work after all this time. At least I have given it my best.

I'm really worried about the impact of my weight but there's nothing I can do about it now :(

I have actually been struggling these past couple of days. I have started the synarel today, but the pill has already made me so tense and teary, and migrainey. I like antagonist better!

Poor DP and dd have been copping my short fuse. Perhaps that's why DP has gone fishing tonight :lol:

I have been utterly hopeless with persies...sorry! Needless to say, I hope you are all well.

I've been a bit down since my ultrasound yesterday morning, so I'm just trying to gather my thoughts and force myself into remembering that this is only my first OI cycle! I think the hardest part is that being a nurse, I've gone through all my text books and been reading so much research about this process and now I'm not too sure how it is going to go for me... I feel so lucky that I have all you wonderful women in here to be able to get advice from and vent too, without you all I think I would be going crazy!!!

I'm a bit nervous about Wednesdays ultrasound because I really don't want this cycle to be cancelled, especially when the dosage of medication isn't really doing what we need it to be doing... Ive been wondering if maybe there are some other medications I should be taking as well as my Puregon... I already am taking folic acid, vitamin d and a multi vitamin every morning... I think I'll talk to my nurse on Wednesday and I'm hoping my FS will come to my appointment as well so I can just get a proper run down of what he thinks is happening and where we go from here...

I've also been reading a lot about IUI... I'm thinking that maybe DH and I should be looking at that too to increase our chances of a BFP happening sooner rather than later... What do you ladies think??? Am I over thinking things????

Hi jo me n hubby have been doing iui for the past 4 month, not this month though due to ohss risk . It hasnt worked for us as yet but it may work for you.anythings worth a shot if you have been ttc as long as us right?the only reason we havent started ivf is that we cant afford it as yet.otherwise we would have gone straight to that rather than iui.gd luck with ur decision

I was naughty. I tested this morning and for the first time ever... two lines!
I'm in shock, I honestly didn't expect it.
Tested again this afternoon and the second line is even darker. I'm pregnant!!!
