Soupy - :welcome: Sorry to hear your FS is still trying to work out your protocol, but hang in there and try not to stress ( and we all know thats easier said than done!) I would certainly go straight to IVF but that is just my opinion!! GL with whatever you decide. As for the weight...i have put on 8 kilos since i started and boy is it hard to get off...but for now i don't care much my priority is getting pregnant and i'll worry about the weight after birth...FX i get to that stage.

AFM - still waiting...not long till FS appointment ( 9th NOV) and hopefully AF is not far behind...can't wait!!

I do have a confession though. I didn't want to post earlier today...only cos of what happened last time with me (hcg level rose too slowly, it was present but not doubling)

but I did a POAS today and it was positive. I'm not gonna use the flashing icon yet...that's if it gets confirmed. I used First Response brand, it gives 1 line if not pregnant and 2 lines if pregnant...doesn't have to be as dark as test line.

My EPU was on 21st Oct and transferred a blasty on 26th Oct (lost other 5 embies) soooo...splodge is 13 days old today. I had an Ovidrel shot on evening of 19th Oct...surely the hcg from Ovidrel would be outta my system by now.

We looked at the result together simultaneously, we hugged and it was all quite low key. I definately felt better though, and pottered rest of day getting things ready for our trip away in the caravan for 3 nights. Ok confession over. ;)

Airline - Not to get your hopes up toooo high, but secretely i think its a BFP!! Hopefully i will be adding you to the list by weeks end. :dance:

Its only 2 days till BT confirms it.....was the line faint??? See if it gets darker tomorrow!
GL and i will eagerly be waiting your results....WELL DONE!! :clap:

Airline - a tentative congratulations to you. :dance: I look forward to that final confirmation in a couple of days.

EmerlaldStar - I found out Monday 26th. HcG was at 291. Had a follow up BT this Monday and HCG was up to 8,689. So looking good so far.... although can't help feeling a little anxious. I am still on Prog pesseries and the clinic will be keeping an eye on me for a little while with more follow up BTs.

I won't really be posting in this tread any more. I guess that's the only sad thing about getting a BFP.... don't want to loose touch with all you lovely ladies. However, I will be lurking to see how everyone is going and to offer congratulations to all when the time comes. Hopefully I will see you all in the Preg after LTTC thread soon. Feel free to PM with any questions or advice or even to rant. :p

AFM- dont really know whats going on, I started bleeding yesterday & got a bit hopeful it was implatation, being that it was day 9 past EPU (so embies would be 9days old) then today it went all yucky much like the days before AF last cycle *sigh*
I POAS this am, because I was still hopeful at that point and of course it was a BFN. :shakehead:
Really not feeling very positive anymore......oh been having all kinds of cramps/pains all this afternoon too

Airline - OMG, :o OMG, OMG!!! That is great news... I know what you mean about being cautious, it is exactly how I felt :hug:. When I went in for the BT (a day early), the nurse was 100% confident it was a pregnancy and not the Hcg so please take some comfort in that... She mentioned they only worry if you have had a booster shot after your ET! Sending you lots and lots of :bluedust: and :pray:'ing for great numbers for you tomorrow!

Well just got the call, of the 8 eggs collected, 7 of our little darlings (or sprogs as Im coming to call them) have fertilised normally. One hurdle down and a few more to go. Next update on our little sprogs will be Friday. FX and a lot of :pray:.

AFM ~ Im up too CD46 and still no AF. Pretty sure AF will be here by the weekend but I have been saying that everyweek for the last 3. Arrhh. Wish my body could just decide. The last POAS I did was a week ago - BFN of course :wall: Now if Im not pg I just want her to get here so I can relax a little and hopefully my cycles will get back on track.

Airline - Have you POAS'd ?? only a day left now till BT...i'm so anxious for you!! Pleeeese let it be a BFP! :pray: As for the work i didn't have to go through many of the posts i had a list somewhere, but had misplaced it and i went searching through my folder of IVF notes and receipts etc. and there it was!!

Hi Girls,
It's been a while since I've posted in here. I had a little break since my last FET.
I had a Transfer a week ago and have been hanging out in the 2WW.
The cramping is getting stronger and I'm pretty certain AF is knocking at the door.
So, I thought I might pop back in here while I decide what to do next.
I have one more frozen, but am thinking of doing another stim cycle to try for a fresh transfer, which I haven't had.

Will try and keep up with where everyone is at ;)

Emerald - yes poas yesterday and today. today's was a bit lighter than yesterday...but I'm trying to convince myself it's cos the pee was much lighter (ie. had more water to drink)
BT is tomorrow, but sadly I don't get results till the next day (6th)....I'll do another test tomorrow.

Hey Emerald - DH and I are excited and are very happy with todays results though FX and :pray: that they continue and get to day 5 successfully and then on top of that test "normal" and dont have DH's nasty gene. ET is scheduled for either this Sun/Mon (8.11.09 or 9.11.09).

AFM - Bring on Friday when I get the next update from the scientists. Man i thought waiting for follicles to grow was bad but this is even worse. How on earth will we cope with the 2ww!!! Like I said to DH earlier tonight, its really not that far away but it is feeling like its forever away.

Just wanting to know the best HPT to purchase. Im being optomistic :D about it all.

Also, what to do? DH and I are due to fly out to Fiji on the 18/11/09 bright and early for a week of absolutely nothing however, double checked that our Pregnancy BT is scheduled on the 19/11/09. This means that we wont be here to do it and therefore I think we have 2 options. Should we a) do the BT with the clinic early so it would then be done 14dpo b) do the BT on the 26/11/09 after we have returned from our holiday, so then it would be 23dpo or c) do a POAS whilst were away???

Hmmm what to do. Dont want you all to think either that were counting our chickens before they hatch.

Oh one last thing, have been prescribed Pregnyl 1500 units for day 2 and then day 6. Could this make a difference to the results either POAS or a BT given it could possibly be done 14dpo???

MHIC- I would probably do the BT before I went!!! I couldn't cope with being in limbo while I was away. POAS would be my second option! ;)

motherhood here i come - Fiji is fabulous....was there for 3 weeks christmas before last..one question ? How on earth do you think you will be able to relax, not knowing ??? What are you thinking ?? :lol: Of course you do the blood test early!!!!! And yes the Pregnyl will affect your Hcg so doing a HPT might be abit tricky.....go for the early BT!! :dance:

MHIC, I always get the FRER's from Woolies these days. They're not the cheapest, but I'm not a big POAS'er so I don't go through a lot. I always avoid testing early with the Pregnyl booster shots, but 14dpo should be late enough after for the b/t results to be reliable. I'd be inclined to ask your clinic if you can go in early. You may need to know before you go if your Dr wants you to stay on the progesterone after a bfp?

Afm, I'm flat out at work - overstressed and sleep deprived. But I did have a win today. At a meeting this morning a client had asked for something by next Tuesday (which with everything else I have on was going to be a big ask). I got a call at 4pm saying they weren't going ahead with it! I've never been so happy to lose some work (and $$)!

Oooh, and ladies I need your help. I have to go to a "bring a plate" thing on Sunday with some friends (just 4 of us for lunch). We get our new oven installed on Friday so there's a certain peer pressure to bring something made in the oven. I have no idea what to take and with work being so busy have no time to spend looking through recipe books like I usually do. (But I still make time for my 15 min BB visits! ;)) Any suggestions for a quick and easy baked product that will travel easily (40 min car trip to friend's house)? I was toying with the idea of a cake (ie mostly because I can buy a packet mix and it's something that doesn't need to be reheated), but since it's a lunch I should probably go savoury?

juniper... here's a favourite of mine.
chicken and wild rice salad
1. dice chicken and fry/grill
2. boil long grain white rice (you can make as much or little of this dish as you want)
3. separately boil wild rice (roughly 1/3 of the white)
4. allow above ingredients to cool and then mix gently with mayonnaise, adding green grapes (I cut these in half) and cashew nuts (I also split these,but you don't have to.)
5. voila! yum.

not sure if you have a hob...probably advantageous, but you could do rice in micro....and buy cooked chicken :D

motherhood ... I buy First Response. It's an instream one but gives you option of dipping into cup, which is my preference. Has a pink plastic cap on it that protects it for showing doctor/partner. It's a simple read...one line not preg, two lines no matter what shade of line means pregnant.

Juniper76 - How bout a nice salad!! Wait I know its gotta be baked, and yes wait for it... get some pumpkin thinly sliced, and zucchini thinly sliced, put thin slices on baking paper and tray and put in oven or grill.....when they are soft and cooked allow to cool...get some mixed salad lettuce baby beetroot (canned, its easier) slice some cucumber and tomato. Mix everything in a bowl. Now the dressing...depending on how much salad you make for 4 i guess you will need 3 tblespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon crushed garlic (jar) 2 or 3 teaspoon seeded mustard and 6 - 8 tablespoon white wine OR red wine vinegar place all these in something with a lid and shake it vigourously or you can blend it...stir into salad and PRESTO!!! Its a beautiful summer salad, my measures might be a bit off as i usually don't measure..just do it gradually and add as you need just in case dressing is tooo much or potent..you know what i mean!!

Airline - might have to try that recipe sometime soon...sounds yum! I am a chef by trade and those ingredients together have never been brought to my attention before...ooooh starting to feel hungry.

Hi girls - wow a lot has gone on in here in the last few days, I can't keep up! So I'm just going to say hi to everyone, sorry no personals (meant to be working on a presentation for work but it's 9pm and I can't really be bothered!!).

AFM - scan on Monday was ok but lining was only 6mm, need to get it up to 8mm for transfer. Had acu today, first time in nearly 3 months so I was hanging out for it ha ha (bit of an acu addict). Next BT and scan is Monday and hopefully transfer by the end of the week. Things are a bit hectic at work and I need to do a few field visits which is gonna be interesting timing-wise but I'll make it work and of course put myself first at all times!!

It's my first time posting in the IVF/PGD forum and I'm desperate for a quick answer to help hubby & I make a decision. We find ourselves in the realm of IVF/PGD as we are proving to be a particularly "stubborn" case of "unexplained infertility". It seems that the next step for us is to try PGD to see whether that will give us any answers about why our 6 transfers have failed.

We have 4 fertilised embryos from our most recent cycle and are trying to decide whether that is enough to justify spending the $2,500 for PGD. We got 9 fertilised embies first time round so 4 is a bit of a disappointment for us. We don't suspect any genetic disorders, we're simply searching for answers for the lack of success. It is not critical that we do the PGD but we feel it is the next step.

We have the option of freezing this batch and doing another collection to make it "worth" testing. I guess we have the luxury that we can still transfer an unscreened embryo? What should we do? What is the minimum/normal number of embryos that you have had tested?

Help!

P.S. I am aware that many of you brave couples have no choice but to screen and I hope my questions don't offend you.

Juniper I would go for a quiche. UIt is savoury and u can eat it cold as well. Providing no one is allergic to eggs lol.

Gee need to calm down, cant get ahead of myself. Need the little guys to make it through their PGD test first. Hmmmm i have never had my fingers so crossed in all my life.

Just a post from little ole me :). DH and I are currently in the process of completing PGD as DH has a genetic condition which we would rather not pass on and if we were to try naturally, its a 50/50 the baby would get it. So as you mentioned in your earlier post, were one of the ones who kind of has no choice but to screen.

Anyway, Tuesday just gone, we did our first EPU, achieving 8 Eggs and then subsequently achieving as of yesterday morning, 7 normally fertilised embryos. That said we have never been told about a minimun that they would test. Oh by the way, were with SIVF for our PGD. Im assuming that with the PGD process, they just need to get a good number of eggs to better your chances of success with a healthy embryo. I feel that yes it is a large amount of money to spend but if it gets you answers or it crosses various questions as to what might be wrong off the list so to speak then it is money well spent. I can see that it might give you peace of mind or then again, make you even more crazy with "what the hell is going on" thoughts.

If you want, PM me and I can let you know the name of our Dr etc or if you have any other questions just ask Im more than happy to share my experiences with you or anyone for that matter.

MHIC - Get BT early - I got my last one 4 days early as I had a wedding on the Sat night and BT was not due to Tuesday. 4 days is a bit early but if there is nothing happening they will know for sure and if there was a pos reading well at least you know it may be happening and you will just have to have another BT when you get back.
Mind you I think you said you leave day before BT - so 1 day early is no big deal and they will be able to tell for sure. Just tell them you are going away - they will understand & I'm sure they would expect you to do BT early. If its neg you want to be able to drown your sorrows whilst away right! And if its pos then you want to be able to sit day dreamin of names! GL anyhow!
