The fewest I have had is one. The most is seven. Usually three or four.

    Hi Nothing2Lose, thanks for that

We have a friend who did IVF the only friend we know who has done IVF she was 34 at the time and she must have been really lucky I guess she was overstimulated but they go 21 eggs of which 11 were viable however she ended up very sick after the retrieval Come to think of it she was pretty lucky/blessed because they have 2 little boys and she got pregnant first round with each

Can't wait to hear from the rest of you ladies x

We got 12 and 6 made it to blasty stage.

Afm - temps have risen to the range they should so I pretty pleased with me luteal phase so far. Good little luteal phase!

I've got this month and next month to try and catch a little freeby with the help of my acu......... Positive thoughts and going back to the beginning with charting. Can't hurt!

Least I had was 7 follicles and 5 eggs from that. All fertilized, 1 transferred. But none to freeze.
Most I had was 16 follicles (roughly) and I think there were 14 eggs. Had most of them fertilize and ended up with 1 transferred and 7 to freeze

But each cycle has been different - and my numbers have increased each time as they put the meds up. Usually I don't get frosties. I was just really lucky last time.

After being on this thread for three years, I can tell you 21 is very, very high!! Most people would get fewer than 10. You can get very unwell from hyperstimulatation so they don't risk it and can cancel cycles that have too many eggs.
Similarly, quality is more important than quantity.

She was in hospital for a few days after that and she has said it's the worst she has ever felt, she thought she was going to die it was that bad. Apparently she reacted to the meds better than they ever expected

Positively- My first ivf I had 8 follies, 6 eggs.. Ended up with 1 blast. Second ivf 10 follies, 10 eggs, 3 blasts. Like the others have said don't get caught up in the high numbers too much as quality is better than quantity! My FS said in an 'ideal' world they like to aim for 8-10 follies.. Any more and your at risk of OHSS. Good luck sweetie xx

Williever- Yay for a good little Luteal phase.. Hope you catch a freebie hun xx

Waves and lots of baby dust to everyone else... Hope you win the baby lotto soon Xx

It is also possible to get OHSS with a few eggs. I had late onset OHSS when I got four eggs and had a chemical pregnancy.

    Sneaking in...

Positively - I did two rounds on two different drug regimes. 1st regime I got 15 eggs of which only 4 were viable. 2nd regime 1 got 20 eggs of which I was lucky 15 were viable. But I was very sick and had mild OHSS. I think quality is more important than quantity like others have said. Sometimes with bigger numbers it compromises quality. So you're probably better with less as they'll be better quality. They say average is normally 6 eggs per cycle. Best of luck with your cycle x

Hi everyone else - baby dust to all. Hope to see some more BFPs in here soon x

Positively I have only done 2 rounds thus far with 22 follies the first time which led to a cancelled cycle, second time I had 10 follies, 14 eggs, 7 made it to blasts 1 transferred and the rest were unsuitable for freezing.

I finally had a catch up with my fs after my last failed round and it turns out I actually ended up with a chemical preg. My hcg levels were at 18 which was at the time not sustainable for a preg and the nurses told me it was a bfn.

So we were relieved the process kinda worked, and while we have tried this cycle for a natural run with the help of acu and naturopath, it appears no ovulation has occurred and I am starting on provera today leading into an antagonist cycle with a slightly different drug concoction and higher levels than the last couple of rounds.

Tt40- I hope things are ok with you and the cycle can carry on.

Good luck for all the egg pickups and transfers this week, will be thinking of you all and crossing my fingers for a good result for all of you.
