Forgot to let you guys know where I am at..... we have an appointment at the clinic on 5th November apparently it's a joint session where they talk to us and other couples who wish to start the IVF process, on the 8th we have a nurse apt to sign consents and then on the 9th we have a counselling session and after that we are free to start IVF process as soon as AF arrives

As I have never done IVF I will likely be bugging you all with lots of questions, one thing I am curious about is have you all suffered side effects taking the high dosage of meds required when undertaking IVF? Having only done IUI's the dosages were low so I had no side effects to talk of

Can you share those side effects with me please?

    Thanks Ladies x

I wanted to to reply to this so it didn't get lost in all the excitement!! Sorry PTT!
sometimes I have had tally clear side effects... Sore ( . )( . )s , heavy crampy feeling especially as the follicles get big!! one time I hyperstimulated a bit... Moody/emotional, but its hard to know whether that's from stress or meds!

Hey girls! Wondering if you all could give me your thoughts on double transfers. We have started a medicated FET this week and we discussed with our FS the possibility of transferring 2 embryos. He said we can if we would like but his option would have been a single 5 day transfer but if we want to he can do a double 3 day transfer. I am confused and torn on what to do. With this being our fifth transfer I like the idea of a higher chance of pregnancy but then do I want twins. My gosh I would be happy with healthy babies but all the complications??? I don't know I just would love to hear people's thoughts and experiences! Thanks!! Xx

Kel, I'd probably agree with your FS - 2x day 2/3 but only 1x blast. We've never gotten any to blast in the lab, so we mostly did 2x day 2/3. DD was from a 2x day 2 transfer... If we did actually get a blast, I'd only transfer 1. (Lol, if we ever got a blast, chances are we'd only get 1 anyway.) I wouldn't want twins (either in terms of the complicated pg or the hard work raising them), but our particular issues make it highly unlikely to get a BFP, let alone have 2 stick... We're more likely (but still very low odds) to end up with identical twins due to my DOR and there's no way to prevent that... I once had a dream that we ended up with twins from a natural cycle after getting DD from a double embryo transfer...

Amy/myturn, on the 1 vs 2 question, I'd guess 1, based on the hCG level (but you never know until the u/s)...
