Babytruj - I had a lap at the end of September, and really it took a while to recover. It was on the Tuesday, and I ended up taking the rest of the week off work, and didn't venture out of the house till Sat. I didn't feel like myself till 2 weeks later. I had another lap in 2004 and it took a similar amount of time to recover. Not sure if that's just me and how I deal with the general tho'. I was quite sore/sensitive this time, and things like bending and getting into and out of a chair was rough for a few days. But, as the girls have said, hopefully it will be a non-issue if AF doesn't show. Thinking of you.

Sorry if I missed anyone - Im at work at I really really need to get some work done, I have been so slack .
AFM: Today is my transfer day - our first - two little embies :stickyvibesboy::stickyvibesgirl: - and we find out today how many fertilised
So off to the TWW for me - I will call in and check how you are all going though xx
-
Possums – This must be a hard time for you guys right now. Try and keep busy and think to the future babies that you will have when the time is right.
Mels77, Possums, Bub4me, – Thanks for your advice. Definitely not something to do before my dancing exam then!! I am waiting to hear back from the doctor, but wondering if I should just leave it till I get back. I work from home, so recovering will be easy (easier - I don't have to worry about walking around too much - except to take my dog for walks, and I'm sure I can get some neighbours to help with that if I need it), especially as London is due to be hectic….. Must speak to DH tonight and see if we are happy to wait another month to do it…
WLB – not jet setting yet…. Good luck with the transfer
To everyone else, hello. Hope you are having good days today.
AFM – I’m still waiting on AF, and thinking that there is a lot happening in the next couple of weeks…. Been feeling very hot the last two days. Not sure whether that is the Clomid still (although I’m not sure if Chlomid makes you hot throughout your cycle or only when you take it) or whether its due to AF coming or something else (don’t want to say it in case I jinx it
-
wouldlove - good luck today with your transfer!
Possums - I hope you're ok. Thinking of you.
Has anyone heard from Ruth?? I'm sure her BT was soon...?
AFM - I think I'm in a TWW at the moment? Cycle has been v v strange and I couldn't even tell if I ovulated (and was a little slack with testing) but my temps have shot up, so possibly I have?? Anyway, taking it pretty easy for the next two weeks. And looking forward to a FET in December (assuming no miracle this month!)
Hope you're all well.
Mels

Hey Guys
Some advice please.
I just called the doc, and they agreed with all of you that they don't advise traveling fro 1 - 2 weeks after the lap. They asked if I want to go for a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) instead? That is the Xray of the tubes and is not surgical so less invasive.
Should I do this now (IF AF comes) or should I wait another month and do the lap? I am so confused....
Has anyone had a hysterosalpingogram (HSG)??
-

Possums - I special note to you as I've been thinking about you and all you've gone through this month.
-
Babytruj - I had a hsg the cycle before last and it showed I had a blocked tube, which I didnt know I had, you only need one tube to get preg,so they can be helpfull, I will warn you they are quite uncomfortable, take some pain relief before you go, some women dont feel a thing - I sure did .
Everyone is different

Hi everyone.. hope you're all going along well through your cycles. I'm still waiting for AF to arrive so I can start a FET in November.. time ticks by so slowly when you are waiting!!
Babytruj, I had a hsg test done and it depends on the reasons for testing as to whether it is better than a lap. I was booked in for a lap and my gyno recommended having a hsg while waiting for the lap appt to check tubes were clear. My test came back all clear and the gyno recommended moving onto ivf. I was told the lap would only confirm what the hsg test had shown - that the tubes were clear and that I should cancel the appt. However, talking later to the FS, a lap can also identify endo and any cysts or problems that may be inhibiting conception. I still haven't had it done but often wonder if our "unexplained infertility" could be clarified by having a lap done. I guess we will continue for a few more cycles of ivf/fet and consider going back and requesting a lap if we haven't had any luck. Looking back, I wish I'd gone ahead with the lap, at least I would know that I had been fully "investigated" on the inside! Good luck with your decision.

I think I did as I have been cramping for most of the day and that is not normal for me. DP bd'd when we were told to so hopefully I will graduate to the TWW soon.
Good luck to you all

babytruj - I chose a lap over an HSG because I wanted to cross as many potential 'obstructions' off the list as I could at the one time! Also I was a bit freaked out by the concept of the HSG and preferred to try a general anaesthetic instead (obviously I'd never had one so had no idea ha ha). Like the other girls I needed a good week to recover. The incision site was ok after about 2 days but I had SEVERE shoulder tip pain (it comes from the gas they use to 'blow up' your belly, it irritates the diaphragm and causes referred pain in the shoulder tips). I think I made it worse by lying around on the couch most of the time, so I'd recommend trying not to be too slothful afterwards if you do have a lap!
Spring - thanks hun but my journey has been nothing compared to many ladies on here ;) The FVL means I'm more likely to get a blood clot, which of course is bad news for assisted conception! Can't go on the pill as that causes blood clots too. I have my first appt with a haematologist on Wednesday next week, so hopefully he'll fill me in on how to manage this during IVF, pg and beyond. It does concern me slightly that I can reach 29 yrs old and only just find out that I should have never been on the pill (umm took it for 8 yrs) or taken flights without support stockings (umm probably taken 20 flights without them...). Also I think it means if I get OHSS it will be super-bad news, so they will try everything to prevent that, which may mean doing IVM.
MrsM - sorry to hear of your Dad's illness.
smithy - get nice and cosy as your two embies are snuggling in nice and tight girl!!
AFM - looking forward to my haematologist appt next week to get some info, I did some googling on FVL and got freeeeeeaked out so I made myself stop  DH and I are in a new fitness regime, we go jogging at least 3 times a week. Every time I feel like stopping I just tell myself its all about getting as healthy as I can for that first round of IVF!! Also it makes me think more about what I eat, cos I know how horrendous it is trying to work it off!!
Have a lovely weekend all!
-
YAY YAY SMITHY thats great news hun (((((HUGS)))))) to you

Failure to O
Afternoon ladies I am so upset at the moment and I don't know who else to talk to I was just outside getting my washing off the line and the FS called I didn't hear the phone so there was a message on my answering mechine anyway my BT results are in from yesterday and it appears that I failed to O yesterday like I was ment to and my FS wants me to take another pregnyl 5000 trigger tonight the only problem is that I don't have any pregnyl 5000 at the moment and I don't have another script for it also I live in Cooma and the chemists in town don't stock the pregnyl they have to order in in special which takes over night. So anyway the FS said my E2 was up around 4000-6000 which means there are 4 follicles just waiting to be released well I tried ringing the FS back and all I am getting is the answering mechine so I can't get a hold of her till monday so now I am really upset as I don't know if these follicles will hang on till monday or if they will dissapear and to top it all off I have to start work in 40mins so I don't even get time to feel sorry for myself.
:cry::crying:
-
oh wishing baby! so sorry to hear the stress you are in right now. I really hope maybe you can get hold of your FS. It is sooo frustrating when our bodies don't do what they are meant to when they are meant to! big hug to you...i hope those follicles hang in there
-
Hi Wishing Baby,
Sorry to hear your news and that you are upset and stressing, there is nothing worse. I don't know much about this but I was of the understanding that if you have follies there, eventually they will O, whether with pregnyl or not. I thought the pregnyl was given so you know exactly when to BD? I hope this is the case and would suggest you and DP just go to town this weekend in case it happens naturally, and then get another BT on Monday to see where you are at. I hope all is not lost, fingers crossed for you. x
-
Hi Wishing Baby-
I can't think of any way to help you get in touch with you FS. I understand the frustration, and the wondering of a missed cycle - we went through this last weekend. My FS has his mobile number on his answering machine for after hours. Have you been able to find a number like that for your FS?
I agree with Baby Dreamtime - you guys should have a BD weekend, and see how the follies are on Monday. Can't hurt, right?
Thinking of you and hoping you can (easier said than done) relax and de-stress this weekend.
-
Hi Wishing Baby, so sorry to hear that you are upset right now. I don't have anything extra to add, but agree that you should have a BD weekend, you just never know do you? Just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you. Sending you a great big hug.
-
Thank you to all you lovely ladies just reading your replys has made me feel a little better Unfortantly my FS doesn't have a number to contact her after hours so I will just have to wait till Monday and give her a call will keep you all updated on how things are going then.
Once again thank you very very much.
-
hi all, just having fun with my laptop. i got it for our anniversary ( 11 years) we're having a big day out on friday and i can't wait. dh is having his ring re sized as he hasn't worn it on correct finger for prob 6 years , that is going to part of his present although he is dong it for me.
as for FET, all is going to plan and after scan on tue i should know when ov is and can arrange some more acupuncture.
i feel ok but am just not as confident as last time, i think it is my bodies way of coping with all these BFN !!!
h to everyone and hope all is well. i'll do personals sometime soon. just so busy for next few days.
good luck
-
wishingbaby- hope things work out when you get to talk to your FS tomorrow
JBM- 11 years is impressive, congrats..the gifts sounds nice- i really hope this FET brings you success
afm- well had to work today unfortunately...getting there slowly with everything else... some days I am doom and gloom, others days I'm OK...still pretty emotional
-
Hi Guys
Wishing baby ? I hope the BD?ing is going well this weekend, and you catch those follies
Possums, hang in there, a new year is a new start and a lasting BFP will be there for you
Thanks everyone for the advice and info on the lap/HSG. The info and personal experience has been great.
AFM - I have had a long hard think about this, and I think I will do an HSG, as I want to feel like we are getting somewhere, so I have booked that in for Friday if damn AF will come. It was due yesterday, and I had discoloured CM all day, and today, but this evening, it?s been a bit more discoloured (although not fully here), and I have a horrible feeling AF is on her ugly way So feeling a bit low at the moment. Don?t know whether to POAS or not??
-
Hello Lovely Ladies,
Babytruj - I don't have any knowledge of HSGs and Laps so can't help. What have you decided?
Mrs M - I hope you and your family are well, especially your dad
Buliej - You saw bub's heart beat? Wow, I have not spoken to you before but when I saw that on your post I got goose bumps. Congratulations!!! That heart beat will get stronger and stronger!
Wouldloveabubba & Smithy - All the best for your BT :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy: What a fantastic early Christmas present that would be for you all!
Kaydee - Hope you got AF. My cousin is at the same point as you. All the best.
Wishingbaby - Thinking of you. I hope FS can save the follicles  Let us know how you go. It's hard when you have to go to work when work is the last place you want to be.
Mrs P - All the best with your appt next week. I'm the same, I'll google for hours searching for answers when all I need to do is wait and ask the FS or specialist. Maybe I should do what you are doing and focus more on getting fit. God knows I need it! But need to get better after my hellish month :(
AFM: After being told on Monday that my little embie didn't make it, you might remember I started getting AF. This took days to eventuate, but when it did, which wasn't til Thursday, it was much heavier than usual and my cramps were awful (Later I found out they were similar to contractions). I got scared and called FS who suggested I go to hospital. So I did. I had an incomplete misscarriage. I stayed in overnight and they had me on the list to to a D&C. I was very scared because a friend had this done twice because matter was left behind after the first time. Then she got scaring and took months for her to get over.
My test results came back that I had almost past everything and suggested that I try and pass the rest on my own as my HSG levels had dropped from 49 down to 11 in two days. So, now I'm back at home hoping that nature does it's job and that my BT on Monday shows BFN (ironic I know!)
Sorry for the long post. Just had to get it off my chest.
-
Spring - I am so sorry that AF came and that its an m/c. That is aweful... Hang in there.
Well, my AF came this evening, so feeling very depressed at the mo. I've booked in for the hsg scan for friday so will have that done and hope it shows some problem that can explain why we're not getting pregnant....

IVF#1 and Endometriosis
Hi girls-
Is anyone going through IVF with Endo? This is my first cycle and on Friday (day 6) I started getting incredible Endo pain, which I haven't had in years. DH called FS who said that Endo would get agrovated with all the estrogen, but it's just SOOO painful, and all I can take is panadiene, which is like taking a jelly bean for the pain. I'm hoping once we have EPU and stop meds that the pain will settle down. Is that right? :crossfingers: What did you do for the pain? We're in the middle of packing up our house as we're moving next weekend (day after estimated EPU date, altho' we find out more at our scan tomorrow), and I'm just not much use.
ANY advice would be appreciated. Not sure how I'm going to go at work either - I can't stand up, and can hardly sit. It's some of the worst pain I've had in my life.:crying:
Trying to keep my eye on the prize and not get too down.
(Oh - had lap in September, but couldn't remove all Endo, but think they got enough to start IVF, but will go in for another lap in a few months if a few cycles doesn't work).
Thanks for your help!!
-
B4M - How frustrating for you hun. Yep the hormones can aggrevate endo. You mention the Drs didn't get it all when they did the lap. Did they suggest you go on a drug treatment (like Syneral) after the lap to try to kill off any remaining endo before starting IVF? Quite a few of the IVF ladies do this if the Dr thinks it will make a difference. I hope you can make it through to EPU. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate ATM too. Try to be as kind to yourself as you can and rest up.
I think lots of hugs are needed in this thread at the moment   .
You are all doing a fantastic job supporting each other and keeping up to date where each other is at. It is really great to see :)
-
