Good luck Pholi and Caty! Hope you'll get your BFPs ladies xx

Juniper, could you put me on CD2 please hun. I guess with the last stim cycle this cycle is a bit wonky, 23 day cycle gee whiz. Lat one was a normal cycle, unmedicated, and it was 24 day cycle, so who knows what is really happening. FS says it's still ok, I'm thinking I'm on my way to expiring (lol, as in in the baby making department). Next cycle will be injecting again, strangely, I'm looking forward to it.

Hello to everyone else and I hope you are all enjoying your weekends

    Thanks!

The lab said that the 3rd embryo has developed into a nice blastocyst today, so has also be frozen!

That leaves up with 2 frosties - I couldn't be more pleased with the way this cycle has turned around!

    Thanks girls!

    Good luck Pholi

Could somebody tell me what is the difference between Pregnyl shots and the pessaries? This time, FS just gave me 2 shots of Pregnyl, well Ive got 3, but they said to have only 2, and no pessaries. But I have pessaries at home from the last cycle and I am tempted to use them... any thoughts?

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

CatyO, pregnyl is hcg whereas the pessaries are progesterone. I've found that 3 pregnyl shots works great as a substitute for progesterone in a stim cycle (which is when I need the most luteal support). If your pessaries are still in date, there should be no harm in you using them, but you really should run it past your FS first (making clear that you already have them, not that you're asking for more). That said, the first time I was told to use only pregnyl and no pessaries I did use with some left over pessaries I had at home because I was nervous about it...

Thanks juniper, I spoke with a nurse and she said it was fine, I can use the pessaries. Also, my transfer was a 5dt. Thanks!

The count down is on til I start my cycle. Signed consent forms returned. Now just have to talk to the nurses pick up my meds and wait for af. Feeling nervous. Have already decided this cycle won't work. Im clearly already in self preservation mode.

Right there with you Jane. I am too scared to think positive. The only cycle I felt optimistic about was the first one...

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

A TMI question here... How much did you bleed after a lap and for how many days? I only have thin pads at home because my periods are quite light. Do I need to buy some mega jumbo sized ones or will I be right with what I've got? Thank you

How much and how long can vary, so it's hard to predict. The first two times I bled for approximately 2 weeks (followed immediately by AF after my first lap, so 3 weeks bleeding in total), but for my most recent one I only bled for 8 days (and only spotting for 2 of those days). I have been told bleeding for 2 weeks isn't normal, but it does seem to be normal for me (I also bled that long after my d&c). The heaviness can also vary, so I'd saying make your decision based on your confidence in your pads and your typical behaviour when you're bleeding. I use very thin pads (not sure if I can mention by name here, but happy to PM you) even though I have typically had super heavy periods in the past but I go to the toilet a LOT (like every 30-60 minutes, whenever I can feel a gush is imminent - sorry if that's TMI) when the bleeding is at its heaviest, so I don't rely on the pad to catch everything, if that makes sense. Since I also have some left over maternity pads from when DD was born, I do occasionally use one of those if I think I need the extra protection, but I've used hardly any of them in the last 3 years. I'd say get some overnight/maternity pads if you'd feel more secure having them on hand if you need them otherwise you could use your usual pads and maybe just go to the toilet more often if the bleeding is heavy?

Caty, how's it going? We're the equivalent of 10dpo now. Are you going to test? What day is your BT scheduled for.

I have no symptoms apart from fatigue, but that came and went anyway. I've never been into posts, but my BT isn't until Wednesday, which is 16dpo, and that seems a loooong way away when I know some test sticks would give a pretty clear answer already! And I have one left in the cupboard from a few years ago. Maybe an FMU on Monday. Maybe.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

Hi Pholi, no symptoms here either... I cant test because i had a pregnyl shot 2 days ago, so lm here biting my nails. My blood test is not until next thursday (17dpo), yes, seems so long away, i think pregnyl could still give me a false positive on Monday? I will see if I get to test on Tuesday, in case l don't get af.
Make sure the hpt has not expired
