Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Thanks Jane and Caty for sharing your symptoms. I've convinced myself mine are disappearing fast lol. On top of all that I am getting another cold :(. Went to visit my OH's daughter and her little family on Sunday, the 6 month old was running a fever a few days in a row and now it looks like I'm getting a cold/virus myself. Boo. My BT seems like years away! Still determined not to test. I'm already thinking if this cycle is not good, I'm going again early next year lol. I was talking to the embryologist and asked her if she thought frozen sperm was better than fresh. She said in her opinion fresh is best. Now I'm kicking myself that I didn't ask my FS on what to do before we started the cycle. We had some swimmers frozen last year, and initially OH was going to have fresh swimmers taken out in this cycle but at the last moment he freaked out and we went with the frozen.. meh.
How is everyone travelling? How are you going Juniper?

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Congrats on the BFPs girls! lovely to hear some baby news!
AFM - the FS has made me take a second lot of clomid in this cycle since my hormones had not lifted at all. Had an ultrasound and BT this morning with a 16.9mm follicle and will call me this arvo to let me know when i trigger, or if we just use it as a booster. Fingers crossed for this cycle working as been told no more clomid cycles, and then I need to have the dye through the ovaries test and possibly another lap for endo before FS will start me on a new plan whch will probably be letrozole or FSH. Not sure if will be used in IUI or not.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Miss.B, it's still early days, to I wouldn't worry count yourself out based on symptoms just yet...
Razzberry, sorry to hear the clomid isn't working as well as hoped. FX that follie has a perfect egg and you get a Christmas BFP!
Afm, I had a dream at 3dpo that I was 9dpo and AF was starting, so clearly I don't have high hopes for this cycle if I'm even dreaming that it won't work... Realistically, it was poorly timed on almost every front - the trigger was done after my E2 started dropping (so the egg was probably past its "best before") and doing trigger 45 hours before IUI isn't ideal (in my opinion) either. The only thing that went well was DH's sample stats, but that's not going to help if the egg was no good. I'm just hoping AF will be kind and her visit will be short so she'll be gone before Christmas...

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Im spotting. :( Have taken another pessary in an attempt to convince the little one to stick around. Feeling anxious.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Good luck Razzberry, fx that follie has the golden egg :)
Miss.B l didnt have any symptom until 5dp5dt, l think if l had had any symptom before, it would be trigger related or Pregnyl.
Juniper - l really hope you are wrong and the eggie was good and gives you a nice surprise xx
Jane - l have had some beige-brownish discharge on and off since sunday night, but the nurse said that is old blood. I havent had much though, it's been only a few times when i wipe, nothing n the pad. I had it twice today, once yesterday. I hope the nurse is right and is only old blood and goes away soon, so l can relax. I will be kmfx for you too
Does anyone know what are the normal levels of estrogen and progesterone l should have at this stage?
I hope everyone is travelling well xx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Jane, it's most likely old blood that the body is getting rid of. Hope it eases up for you, and it eases your anxiety. Early pg can be stressful. Big hugs.
Juniper, thanks for your reassurance. I hope we both get our Christmas miracles. You never know.
Caty, thanks Hun. I'm not sure what the levels should be, but try not to look into it too much, it might stress you out unnecessarily. The levels can vary so much for each person. Hang in there!
Razzberry, good luck with this cycle Hun, hope you don't have to do any of the other things.
AFM, nothing new, just trying to get over this silly cold. Started to feel sick yesterday, and I had DS's kinder concert yesterday so was running around like a mad chook making the party food and what not, so haven't really rested. The time is draaaaaaaging, but the desire to test is not there. Thank goodness! Lol.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Hi ladies. Just completed my 5th round of ivf, negative result. Only one frozen embryo, from 2 cycles sgo which was fantastic to achieve. First time that I had massive bleeding about day 7 after transfer. Don't know if I should have a break, as my positive attitude is diminishing quickly with every 'failed' cycle. Because of my age, 43, I don't want to prepare for a frozen cycle, just to have the embryo die and miss out on the chance of collecting at least a couple of more eggs.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Hi hopeful mum, sorry to hear of your bfn. Ivf is a tough journey. Do you have a good fs you can talk through your options? Personally I think Id be tempted to do another full collection. Wishing you all the best whatever you decide.
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Hi hopeful mum, sorry to hear about your journey so far wishing you a very short stay. I would be tempted like Jane to do another full collection
Good Luck xxx
Miss B I'm thinking of you, what's your symptoms? How are you feeling? xxxx
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Thanks for thinking of me 1 more please :). Not many symptoms here, very slight cramping today, kind of like AF is coming in the next few days. I can get crampy up to a week before AF, so dunno.
Hopeful mum, I'm sorry about your cycle. I'm 44, so I hear you on the age front, but don't feel that because you're 43 you won't give your frozen embryo a fair go. I've found frozen transfers less stressful on the body, and in fact I have a 4.5 year old DS who came from a frozen embryo. Good luck in your future TTC journey. There is also older women TTC thread, you can always chat to the ladies in there (me included) who are a bit older than the average lady in here.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
I am cd 10 (Sunday) please. We're having a 'natural' FET cycle, which apparently still involves triggering ovulation. My cd8 BT indicated that estrogen was rising slowly, so atm we're on track for a transfer somewhere round Christmas Day!

-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Jane - I hope all is ok, I understand how worried you must be.
Good luck to the girls in the 2ww :)
AFM - I am going to hang around for a bit, if I am allowed?? I just don't know who else to talk with and I am not sure yet if I will be leaving this forum, as I have been spotting since last Sunday (brown), it was only when I went to the toilet but for the last 2 days I have always a brown line n the pad (sorry tmi). I have been to blood tests last week Mon, Wed and Fri and number were increasing normal. But I was worried for the spotting, so they agreed to have an u/s this morning (I am 5 weeks 6 days) and I am very worried because they found 1 yolk sac, but they can't see a baby growing there :( and they found another yolk sac, and can't see a baby growing in there either. FS said it could be still a bit earlier, but all I have read on the internet (I should have stayed away of the internet, lol) says that I should even see a heartbeat by now... The problem with the sac #2 is that is located in the area very close to the fallopian tube, but they can't tell if it is in the fallopian tube or not but the Dr looked very concerned and said if I am cramping bad I should go to the hospital, The cramps stopped last Monday.
I apologize if this is not the right place to talk about this, but I really don't know where else to go, and I am not even sure if I will be leaving this forum anyway... I hope my post makes sense, I am all confused...
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Caty, I would have thought 5 weeks 6 days is a bit early to see a heart beat? I know some people have had heart beats around 6 ish weeks, but not all. Lets hope it was just a bit too early. So the two sacs mean twins? I'm sorry you are going through this stressful time, and I can't talk as I've been googling my own concerns all this morning, but don't google too much hun (I've stopped), sometimes Dr Google can stress out people unnecessarily. FX the cramps stay away and the sacks are in the right place and you'll see heart beats very soon. Big hugs xxx
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Big hugs CatyO. Do you have another scan booked on yet?
Afm bt results were ok today but im still bleeding. They have increased my progesterone and have said it could go either way. Another bt on mon but because of Christmas wtc my scan isn't utility 12 th jan
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Good news Jane, FX the progesterone helps and keeps the bleeding away x
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Miss.B - Yes, apparently both implanted, and i am hoping its just early, but Dr looked very concerned, he said at this stage he couldnt say if the sac that was in the right place was going to progress, and what worries him mire was the location of the 2nd sac, he said we will have a better idea next Monday. He said if the 2nd sac keeps developing and its in the tube it could explode, so they would have to remove it.
Jane - Glad to hear the bt looks good. I have another scan next Monday. I guess i will be 6weeks 6 days then. Are you having acupuncture? Perhaps it could help with the bleeding?
-
Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Caty, let's keep everything crossed for next Monday. It's the waiting that's horrible, but if you can distract yourself with something this week that would help. I know it's so much easier said than done. Sending big hugs your way  xxx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
CatyO, while it's possible to see a HB at 5w6d it's not very common. The HB usually starts between 6-7 weeks, to 7wks is generally when they start to worry if you don't see one. By 5w6d I think you'd expect to see a fetal pole and maybe that's what they were looking for and not finding. Problem is, everything is so small at that stage that not finding something doesn't mean it's not there. Hugs to you - I know how horrid limbo can be. Will be keeping FX that all works out well.
Jane, glad to hear the numbers were good again today. That's a long wait for your scan. Will be keeping FX for you too, hun. xx
Afm, phoned the FS's office this morning and got a script for BCP. Figured if I'm not O'ing anyway, I may as well make sure AF doesn't gate-crash my holidays... Been in so much pain today (AF started properly just after I got to work)... :( Lol, the worst of the pain was during my staff review - great timing!

Jane and CatyO, how are you guys today? I hoping the bleeding settles soon and that you both have otherwise uneventful pregnancies x
MissB, how is the 2ww going? only a few more days til your blood test!
Juniper, I hope the pain settles. I get bad period pain too. It sucks :(
AFM, I saw the FS today and I'll be starting clomid. I Have to wait until late January as they're closed over Xmas/NY and they won't be able to track the follicles. DH and I will still keep trying naturally until then but it is good to have some sort of plan.
Sorry if I missed anyone. I hope everyone is doing ok :)

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Thanks ladies for all the support. Still bleeding but it is not as heavy as on the weekend.
For those of you who do or have dobe acupuncture, do you need to find one who specialises in fertility or pregnancy or is anyone ok?
Good luck miss b for the upcoming scan.

Fingers crossed for your next scan catyo. Praying for heartbeats.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014
Hi ladies,
Thinking of you both with bleeding/ cramps. :/
Jane, def try to see a fertility specialist acupuncturist if you can.
Afm, BT and scan today showed lining is good, follicle is 20mm, estrogen is increasing, but no L&H surge yet, so I have another BT tomorrow, and probably the trigger tomorrow night. By my calculations, that will put t/f of my 5 day embryo on the 24th!
