Spotting again, but only a little. First b/t showed my levels are basically baseline... on CD12... He wants to wait a week before re-testing.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

Jane - I have never done a FET. And the reason Im affraid of doing it, is because l only have 1 and l have read that normally when they do a FET they thaw a few embryos and some wont survive. I would feel more confident if l had more than 1, that way is one doesnt thaw l still would have more, but having only 1...
This FE is from the IVF we did on June last year, so it has been frozen for more than a year. In that IVF l only did 4 eggs, 3 inseminated, 1 was transferred, 1 was frozen and the other wasnt good enough to freeze.
This embryo is with the other clinic and we have decided to do it, if they can find me an appointment, because they dont have any RE available until next Monday and then l will be CD7, otherwise if they dont tell me tomorrow that lcan see a RE this week, we will transfer the embryo to the new clinic that l am now with and l will do the transfer with them, IF the embryo thaws ok.
Could somebody please tell me in what CD l need to have b/t and scans for a FET?

Hi, can you add me to the list. I think I am CD 1? I have the lightest period ever but more than spotting. I am doing a monitored clomid cycle with our clinic combined with a trigger shot.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

CatyO, the day you need for b/t and scans depends on what protocol you're doing. For a natural FET (no meds before O and transfer timed based on O), you should be okay starting as late as a few days before you O.

Razzberry, done. GL with your cycle!

    CD1 for me finally!!!!
    Plus the flu- marvelous!

Caty- I've done 5 FET and only thawed 1 embryo each time- haven't lost any.
    Good luck :-)

    CatyO, Amy, so sorry.

Caty O, the thought you had to take one or two cycles off after an egg collection cycle... But maybe that's just for another egg collection cycle, not for a FET.

I'm CD1 today, Juniper. Bloods and scan tomorrow to see if the cyst has gone and start another IVF cycle. I have all my drugs and all the paperwork I need to take them the Bali for my holiday, in the off chance that the cyst has gone, but I'm pretty sure it will still be there, just like last time.

Good luck with the FET CatyO.

My DD was the result of a medicated FET cycle. She had been in the freezer for 6 months before we thawed her. Lol.

There is always a risk they wont thaw but most times its ok.

Im about to do another FET next month. Hoping that one of out frozen embies will stick. If it does then it would mean our kids would be twins in a weird way. Conceived at the same time but frozen for different lengths of time.

Embryo usually transfered CD19 or 20. Very few scans or blood tests with FET, from memory only obe or two.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

    Hi ladies,

Just a quick update from me, feeling quite deflated. Had first scan and BT today, only showing 7 follies, one at 18 mm, one at 14 mm and the rest at arounf 3-4 mm. The nurse said it wasn't what they expected to see . Im already on 450 of gonal F, the highest dose. Next scan on Friday morning, but the nurse said if the follies don't catch up, expect a cancelled cycle. They like to have at least 3 good sized follies for EPU. So sad, how on earth am I going to get more follies on a maximum dose????? Has anyone had such small follies and had them catch up?

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

Miss.B, sorry to hear that. Did you not have a baseline scan (if this is your first)? It's possible you already had a lead follicle developing before you started stims, which would lead to uneven growth like this. Or it could just be a bad cycle for you and doing exactly the same process next cycle could have a very different outcome. If you consistently recruit a lead follicle early there's a protocol called a "crash" protocol which from memory involves administering an antagonist (eg orgalutran) during the luteal phase of the preceding cycle to deter the development of an early lead follicle. It's not universally successful, so not widely used, but worth trying if the more common protocols don't work. I'd probably be tempted to cancel this cycle and try again (assuming you get most of your money back or they can carry it over to the next cycle). If this keeps happening, then I'd ask the FS about trying the different protocol. You could also ask about getting a baseline scan done from now on to check for lead follicles before you start stims. Dose isn't everything, the protocol itself also plays a role, as does luck, so don't count yourself out just because you had one bad cycle. xx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

Thanks Juniper and 1 more please. I'm hoping the follies catch up 1 more please, otherwise I'll be devastated, as this is supposed to be our last cycle. If we had gotten to a stage where we had an embryo and even if the cycle was a bfn, I think I would be sort of ok with that, but if I don't even get the cycle off the ground I'll be more upset . I'm already on the max dose. Do you remember if they upped your dose following the first scan?

Juniper, I've never had a baseline scan done before, this has never happened to me before. I've always had follies, not so many of late, but I've always had follies before this cycle. Just not this little (size wise). I'll just keep going, tomorrow's scan will tell me one way or the other is the cycle will continue. I'm hoping the other follies catch up. I also have a feeling the big follie is the lead follicle. Thanks for the info hun, could be something we coluld look into IF there is a next time .

Amy and Caty, I'm sorry you've been getting BFNs. They suck big time. Thinking of you both xxx

Miss B my first scan was at day 7 which was a really bad scan my next was at day 11 or 12 cant remember but that's when they had caught up
no they couldn't up my dose as I was on the highest 450 as well. What cycle day are you on? I've just looked and I thought you were cd9 today I might be wrong but why don't they leave you for a few more days before they scan again to give them a chance to catch up?

Miss B we had a couple of tiny follies and 5 bigger ones between 17 and 10 mm last time, they kept my dose the same, and they did catch up- we had 8 eggs, of which 7 were mature.

Afm, had my cd2 US and BT this morning. Cyst is still there. whether it not we start will depend on whether hormones are back to baseline.
