hello everybody!
got my day 13 Bt results. LH - 7 and E - 860! so i am rising wuite rapidly. ultrasound and bloods tomorrow and if all is well maybe a transfer at the end of next week. fingers crossed

last news on puppies at 12 noon was one little brown boy dobermann born at 9.40am and unfortuantely one deceased little brown girl at 11.15am.... going back at 5pm to see how progress is going. mum is expecting 7 puppies....

smithy - i always knew synarel was properly inhaled when about 5 mins later there would be a horrible hot acidic liquid go down my throat! so the feeling in your throat is totally normal... good luck

BW ... thanks for explaining PCO vs PCOS! I understood what you were saying - makes sense. Do you have to do a specific blood test for your insulin? I am surprised then that my FS hasnt even suggested it! I will make sure to ask. That article also sounds interesting! You are so well informed BW ... thank you again, would love to read it and quiz the clinic.
I read about your appts and hope all is going well! Good luck with your psych appt!

Sonya looks like we are really close in regards to transfer date! I'll be egging you on (pardon the pun)! Good luck with those pups! Sounds exciting!

Mon, the insulin resistance was discovered during a glucose tolerance test. My blood glucose remained within the right limits, but my insulin levels were astronomical. This means that my pancreas has to flood my body with insulin in order to cope when I eat anything that contains sugar, and it's the extra insulin that causes all the other hormones (LH, FSH, testosterone, etc) to become unbalanced and causes an excess of the androgenic hormones which cause the acne, hirsutism, obesity, etc that is common with PCOS. If your hormone profile appears normal, then there's probably no reason for the further testing to be done.

In order to find the article, I've got to go search another forum and grab the link again. I'll PM it to you when I find it, and hopefully I can find the time to paste the relevant bits in the appropriate thread. I feel it was a bit biased, as it comes across as though if you don't transfer a blast you can't get pregnant, which is far from true!

Today's psychology appointment went really well there's another huge update on my tought processes in my journal. Part of the reason I'm so well informed is because I've been milking everyone's brain here on BB for quite a long time. I figure it's only fair to give back what I have gained.

Excuse the typos - it's freezing here and my arthritis is flaring... I think I caught most of them!

Sonya - Congrats on your levels not long until transfer now! That is fantastic! And exciting about the puppies! Are you after a boy or girl?

MO5 - Just ignore everybody who is even slightly negative! This is your wonderful happy time and you should enjoy it! The nurses might be a little different if it was them going through this rubbish and dealing with the TWW! And it is lovely to hear some BFP's around here!

Smithy - Im hearing you on the synarel! Gross... i took it an hour ago and can still taste it!

Well we had our scan this morning, 615am! What a way to wake up! and we have 7 follies that are easily visable and a few more growing. So yay it looks like this cycle will be full steam ahead! She doesn't want me growing more than 10 because last time i had OHSS with 11... damn PCOS! So slow and steady this cycle and hopefully we will still have 2 nice blastys to put back! Next scan on Tuesday and then EPU Thursday or Friday next week! Yay im excited!! We are off to Sydney tonight for the long weekend which means i will no doubt be offline.... and going insane what to do without BB for 3 days!

Alrighty better get some work done here at 630 which is insane! And nobody knows about the IVF so just have to be silently happy all day!

Thank you Shannon... you'll make me blush! I hope you have a great time in Sydney - word of warning, it's absolutely freezing here! Cold and wet and just awful, and looks like being that way through the weekend, too. I hope you don't run into too much hassle with the APEC stuff going on around here. I'm personally taking the opportunity to avoid going into the city at all, and staying out as far as I can. The best thing... My school is closed for the day tomorrow even though we're outside the region that should get the public holiday because one of our bus companies won't run. DH is off work too, but all around us everything will be business as usual. Hopefully the arthritis will settle enough for me to be able to enjoy it!

Still stressing a little about the hy-co-sy to come... I'm just hoping it won't be as bad as I'm imagining.

good news Shannon. have a relaxing few days in Sydney.

Me - had bloods and ultrasound. two follies on right ovary one 21mm and one 11mm endometrium at 8.4mm so Dr reckons i will ovulate normally, no need for trigger! yay! hopefully i ovulate about sunday and transfer next friday! getting excited now..

Puppies were delivered by emergency c-section. mum lost another boy so they made the decision to operate. she now has 2 boys and 2 girls. a black/tan and brown/tan of each! clever girl. about to go meet the litter and puppysit to give the owner a break. we would like a male and hopefully a brown/tan one....

Rols- is DW back yet? you must be missing her like crazy!!! take care and hope to hear more soon

Shannon agree with BW is def a pearl of wisdom! I have skimmed through the article and printed it off and will read it when get home in more detail! Its good to be informed.
Shannon looks like we may be going in for EPU around the same time. I go in for my BT and US tomorrow morn and have been told it could be either Wed or Fri of next week.
Sonya how exciting about imminent transfer! Fingers crossed! How exciting about the pups!! Awesome!

Hi All,

Well AF arrived with gusto this morning so I didn't even make the BT on Monday. I was pretty busy at work so have not had too much time to dwell on it. Got three days ahead with the APEC long weekend though so we are looking for lots of things to keep me busy. First order of the day though will be a really nice glass of red wine! I am actually dealing with it suprisingly well. I am prone to be very emotional so I am just waiting to see when and how bad it actually does hit me when it does.

Next....I relax (haha) for this month and then we can go FET. DH has always been against two but surprised me today by saying we should put two back! So bring on the next six weeks--I've already discovered patience is a virtue I lack.

Anyway enough of being self absorbed.

Shannon sounds like everything is going great with your levels - good luck.

Rols - how are you and DW doing? How's her holidays or more to the point how's your credit card? hehe

BW, Mon, Sonya, Smithy, Em hope you are all going well.

ME - had to pick my son up from daycare at 1pm as he woke up crying for me and is ill. got him home, put him in my bed with a movie and panadol and rang for results........

so much for no trigger-levels had dropped a bit so i had to pack up poor sick child, jump in car and do the 40min drive to the clinic for pregnyl injection...and it HURT!!!!..... my poor Thomas started gagging in the elevator and i ripped of his jacket for him to do his little chuck up in (sorry for TMI)

what a day

good news is my transfer is booked for next Thursday the 13th and i ring about 4pm wednesday to see if an embie survived the thaw... fingers crossed...

It's been a while since i've posted on these sites, but since it's now 3.30am and i can't sleep. i have so many thoughts going through my head - i feel i need to get some out. i keep thinking that 3 years ago i thought it would happen so easily, and now i think how much time has passed and i also keep thinking that every female in my life (friends and family) have had or will have a child soon (my close friend has just told me she is pregnant - it was an accident) - i feel i have no one in my life (besides my husband) to talk to as no one can understand my frustrations. i found out Wednesday i had another failed AIH attempt and i'm just so sad. i'm at a lost on what to do, as i can't afford the cost and emotional stress icsi does (as that resulted in negative results). i would love to know of any chat sites for similar frustrated people or even groups that meet on the gold coast, cause at the moment i feel alone (which i'm angry at feeling this way- as i know there are people alot worse then me) - sorry to ramble - but i actually feel a little better now and even getting a bit tired. thanks for letting me vent.

I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I had my 3rd IVF transfer on Tuesday (2nd FET) and am just trying to think positive at the moment (have also been on the 2WW thread).

Bec, I'm sorry you are feeling so sad and lost. I don't know of know of any other chat sites, but I have found everyone on BB to be so understanding and supportive, and I think it helps that others on BB are going through similar situations and can support each other. Your feelings are normal - I too have had similar feelings of thinking it would happen so easily and it seems that everyone around me is falling pregnant. I'm sorry I don't know any groups on the Gold Coast but if you ever need to vent I think BB is the right place. Take care and I wish you and your DH the best of luck.

Shelly, I'm sorry about this cycle and wish you all the best for your FET in Oct.

Sonya, good luck for your transfer next week. Also, good luck with your puppysitting and getting a male pup. I have a 5 month old staffy pup I got since I started IVF and I have found he definitely keeps me occupied and takes my mind off it for a bit!

sorry your feeling down. maybe check with your clinic for a support group. we have one at my clinic called Genesis. i think people doing AC meet up with a nurse or councellor for general meetings and discuss emotions, concerns etc. maybe your local council would have details of such a group

take care of yourself in such a difficult and emotional time.

Hi Gang,

About to hit the hay and too tired to be able to make a personals post which actually makes sense, but I have been reading everyones news with interest and keeping up with exactly where you're all at.

To those who were wondering about us, I'm fine more or less and pumped about the FET. DW not so pumped and the reality of life has hit her since getting home from Sydney. She hasn't really dealt with it whilst away, and has to now she's home. Had a chat tonight, she'll be alright.

To those of you who don't venture far beyond these threads and have a bloke with MF infertility, this one might be well worth a read: How IVF Impacts on men?

Oh, and a bit of good news, we ended up with three blasties, not two. The scientist changed her mind about one, so we have two hatching and one extended. And just as we paid the whole cycle off, we got the $600 freezing bill with 7 day terms. Yeah right!
