I was taught not to pinch the skin but to use your fingers to stretch it out and make it taut. But yes, you can let go of your pinch, nic, once the needle is in. In my latter cycles, I just stuck it in, no pinching or stretching. :P

BW I completely get your wanting to keep your dates a secret. I did blood tracking for an FET in April this year and no one but the mods knew about it. :) It ended up being cancelled and my little snowbub is still in the freezer but when I do go again, I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping it low key too. After all my failed cycles from before, the pressure would do my head in, even without anyone watching.

Had another bloodtest/ultrasound combo today, i feel like an old hand at this already. Ultrasound shows nothing has changed since AF, still have 14 follicles, the biggest of which is only 7mm... great. She kept talking about taking it slowly and being worried about OHSS. Am to increase my dose to 112.5 daily and go for another scan next Wednesday.

nic - i keep pinching the skin, but you don't have to - you can let it go (my nurse does if she inficts any injections on me!) i don't know exactly how i do it, but i basically get the needle in then switch the way i'm holding it so i can plunge the stuff in - i can do it easy, but trying to get the words to describe it......... well, that's just too hard!

Nic, it must be a relief to have it all underway after all that time on the synarel! Lots of luck to you and I hope everything works out for you! :)
BW, I completely understand where you are coming from with regards to keeping things low key during your cycle. It makes a lot of sense and certainly takes the pressure off.
My BT was today and it was a BFN. I knew that already though as AF arrived on Monday. I am so annoyed that both stim cycles, AF has arrived 9 days after transfer. Feels like my little embryos don't have much chance. I have spent the week dealing with the disappointment and thought I would keep the news to myself until it was offical.
DH and I have decided that we wont do our FET until after Christmas. A good 3-4 months off could be just what we both need.

Nic you can let go of the skin once the needle is in. For me in the ned it was easier not to pinch.

Nothing happening here just waiting to see FS on Monday morning and decide ont he next step. Still about 3 weeks before we can start a boost stim cycle again.

Megan Sorry to hear that we have just come off a 6mth break and though I did't want to at the time and almost cut DH head off for the suggestion I know I am better for it now. There is nothing I can say to make you feell better than we are here for you.

Hi Girls, well it sounds like just about everyone is on a positive step forward. Great to hear BW things are happening for you, I really am crossing my fingers for you. I know I have just joined but all of the girls here are so friendly and supportive, its great to not feel alone anymore. Hope its ok to ask another silly question but do you think its ok to not feel any pregnancy symptoms at all yet? My BT is not until Monday but i just dont feel like I am even a bit. Just wish I had some kind of sign it was all going to be ok. Cant get it out of my head.

Flo, I had really strong symptoms from 4 days after transfer. It was a BFP. I've also heard of women having absolutely no symptoms at all and still getting a BFP. Impossible to say either way - the presence or absence of symptoms seems to mean absolutely nothing.

To borrow some words from my FS (strangely enough, words that didn't make me want to deck him for a change), there's nothing you can do to change the outcome now. Whichever one it will be, it's already decided. You're much better off trying to stay relaxed and not stressed. No easy task, I know.

Megan, bad luck and I'm sorry it didn't work this time. Try and look at the good stuff when you feel like it - this stim cycle worked out much much better than your last. It will happen for you.

Flo, what BW said. Heaps of women have every symptom, heaps of women have none. The only thing that counts in the end is the BT.

Shan, let us know what happens on Monday. As for us, no dramas with the FET cycle so far. Well actually, DW had to ring the clinic last night A/H because AF was behaving a bit out of the ordinary and they didn't answer the msg until this morning which isn't very cool! Apparently their phone switched off but you'd think they might have checked. Anyway, it was no big deal and we just decided to make an executive decision and start the FET drugs today instead of yesterday.

Shannon, we are really happy with our FS, we chose to stay with him, even though he is an associate of QFG, and can't do our IVF closer to home. The other 'local' clinic meant we would have to change FS, which neither of us wanted to do. Not sure on who our FS at QFG Brisbane will be, we are suppose to be seeing Dr DeAmbrosis, but he is away, so we will either be getting Dr Kilvert or Dr Salisbury??

I'm having a little bit of a stress attack over my FET at the moment... apparently my levels this time are way lower than last cycle. I'm finding EWCM, yet the clinic is saying I'm not ready to ovulate. They next want to see me on Monday. My anxiety levels are soaring, which also means ovulation should happen soon... yet my blood doesn't appear to agree with me. Looks like the transfer in the holidays isn't going to work out... unless I ovulate Tuesday, in which case transfer will be the Sunday before I return to work.

I think I'm generally finding this FET more difficult than the first one, simply because the first one was successful. There's a sense of expectation that this one will work because the first one did... which means the crash at the end if it doesn't work is going to be that much harder. So, of course, now I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who had their first cycle work, but miscarry, and then had the second not work? or work? Then again, I'm a pretty odd person when it comes to this IVF stuff - there's just not much I've done the normal way, so there's probably no point comparing myself to others.

Excuse the mindless, selfish babbling... it's a hell of a time to have my psychologist overseas for two months!

Its exactly the same for when you are going to ovulate or when transfer will be. :)

As for the expectations of this cycle being successful, i can't completely relate but i like to think yes its going to hurt when disapointment slaps you in the face but if we don't go into these IVF cycles positive and thinking its going to work and then why would we put ourselves through it in the first place? Hope that made sense :)

Also just wondering my clinic has a free counselling session with a psychologist each cycle, maybe yours has something similar and you could take advantage of that whilst yours is off holidaying?
