Nic, we were TWW buddies remember, had a b/t on the same day. I was so happy for you, wow, 10 weeks!![]()
Thanks for poping in and answered my questions. We haven't been informed to do a ICSI yet, so far still an IVF. That's why I am a bit confused about the 'hand-picked' part, that doesn't neccessarily mean ICSI does it? Whichever the way they do, I really don't mind, just gave me a BFP like yours! Thanks sweetie!
Hi WouldLoveABubba
Please anyone correct me where I am wrong, but I think it is a shorter cycle with a different protocol. Just starting the FSH on Day 1 of AF, then taking this other injection additionally (sounds like Orangutan - but not the ape), and then EPU just before O. In other words, no pill or Lucrin before hand. I think these have been my downfall.
As I seem to be understimulated, I am hoping I am not told to wait until AF then do the usual Day 19 down reg protocol. If I do I bet knowing my luck I will clash with Xmas. It seems like we have waited so long since losing our last bubba to get this IVF started, I do not want to wait another 3 months to get another crack at this!
thanks for the welcome guys!!
Melz, yes we do sound like our stories are very similar. With the hcg reading, where mine was 18 and yours 9, were you a little concerned this was due to left over drugs in your system? You see I was on the hcg injections after iui - were you? And I am worried this was all the test was reading, and not a real positive.
I am so glad that the IVF has found to be more fruitful for you, that you have received some answers. I wonder it it will be the same for us...
Yes I agree, the medications do give me something else to focus on during the cycle! It feels like I am doing something productive too, not just waiting waiting waiting all the time...
Welcome Daizy and Diamond. The girls in this forum are great. It is really hard when you are trying to carry on as if everything is normal and everyone here knows what you are going through.
Daizy - Good luck on your egg donor journy. I have a friend going through the same thing.
I was wondering whether you had been to see an accupuncturist and looked into Chinese Herbs. I know it may sound abit out there but after two failed attempts with pretty low quality eggs I decided to take a 6 month break and see what this has to offer. I can honestly say if nothing else since doing this I have been less stressed and so much healthier. I have also doubled the result from my previous attempts of IVF. I cannot comment on whether this will result on a BFP (the Jury is still out on that one til the end of next week!) but I have felt less issues with the drugs, much calmer etc. The reason why I have suggested it in your case is that there are lots of stories about women who have been told exactly the same as you and Chinese medicine has helped them to ovulate normally and produce much better quality eggs. Fingers crossed for you.
I hope everyone else is going well. Fingers and toes crossed for all of us.
hey diamond - i was worried at first that it was residual injection, but my doc assured me it wouldn't have been. oddly enough i had loads more preg symptoms with HCG 9 that i currently do (HCG 64 - which was why i was certain it would be a BFN). have you thought about how many iui's you'll do before you turn to ivf? that was a tough decision for me...
hi 21 - that was me with the no-talking sperm & egg - but unfort the only thing that tested that was putting them in a dish together (ie non-icsi ivf).
jbm - very best of luck for early next week EPU
Ruth & Bel - will be thinking of you both tmrw for your EPU
Mels
Happy Thursday everyone!
Mels - I wish you all the best for your BT tomorrow, fingers crossed your levels have gone up. Will be think of you.
Millymoo - I totally agree with you re TCM and acupuncture and healthy living etc. Only at the moment it is really hard for me to see what my cycles are like as I have been doing AC for a year now, you know, on the pill, on the stims, recovering, on the pill, on the stims, recovering? If this cycle is a neg I plan to take some time out, and will really focus on diet etc. But most important, good luck to you in your TWW. Hope to join you there soon.
Diamond - a big welcome from me too. So sorry to hear about your recent loss. As some of the other girls have said, at least you got a BFP the first time, it bodes well for the future. Good luck with IUI #2.
Where there's hope - when is your next BT? I hope your levels are rising. I was worried too, my E2 was only 250 on day 7, and they upped my FSH also. Good luck and fingers crossed for you and hope the cramping subsides.
Wouldloveabuba - good luck with your cycle this month!
Cuddlepie - I hope you are ok, hand picked sounds great to me, the more help the better and hopefully this will ensure the strongest embies. Fingers crossed all goes well.
21andTTC#1 - We only had the standard tests, so I can?t help you there. Speak to your FS and ask heaps of questions. Hope those strange pains go away. I am on the Gold Coast too, but am currently going to John Flynn at Tugun. I have heard Monash is great.
JBM - Great news, I hope O comes on time and all goes well for your FET. Fingers crossed.
Daizy - Good luck in your donor search. I don?t know your circumstances but I might suggest you don?t take your clinic?s word that it will only happen with donor eggs, might be worth getting a second opinion. And I have read plenty about how women have conceived by improving diet etc. I wish you all the best.
Bel - my friend, I hope you are as excited as me about tomorrow. Fancy that, same day and all. Will be thinking of you for a successful EPU. And look forward to a BFP for both of us this month.
Paula - hope your sniffing is going well. What?s next for you?
Ruth - do you have your EPU tomorrow also? How exciting, I hope all is going well with you and wish you all the best.
Abbie - hope you are surviving your TWW, not long to go now.
Smithy - great news re your licence. How are you doing with your sniffing?
KellyD - sending sticky vibes to you in your TWW and fingers crossed for your BT on the 20th.
To anyone else I have missed, hope your cycles are going well, to the ladies in their TWW, sending lots of sticky vibes and baby dust your way.
AFM - I am super excited for my EPU tomorrow, and very keen to get these follies I have been brewing out and on their way. Am feeling very sore and swollen. And am looking forward to a nice long relaxing weekend. Hugs to all, xx
HI Baby Dreamtime. I don't want to speak too soon but I have not spotted for the first time today (Day 7 FSH) since Sunday (Day 3 FSH). YAYYYYYYYY. I am really hoping my eggies are now growing nicely. Because I am doing PGD I think I need to have a decent number to test or they cancel. Can I ask what your dose was and then increased to after Day 7? Did they do a scan and did it change the number? Best of luck with you EPU tomorrow![]()
Just a quick post to say: I'm all booked in for my EPU tomorrow morning! Looks like babydream time, Bel and me will all be doing EPU tomorrow! Yay for us!
I feel sore and bloated and doing anything other that lying on my bed is uncomfortable. Can't wait to leave work and get into my comfy PJs!
All the best for my fellow buddies!
Best of luck to Ruth, BDT and Bel for EPU!
YAY for no spoting WTH, I hope your Est level is going up and eggies are growing beautifully.![]()

Hi
I am new to this forum, and not really sure how it works....
We've been TTC for 2 years now. We are in the early stages of tests, I guess, but I have been going to the doc for the last 4 months, and having ultrasounds to see if I am ovulating. It seems a bit irregular at the moment, and they have given me some meds to help me ovulate, but still no good news. I ovulated one month, then nothing the next, now I am waiting for the next doc appointment (next week) to see if ovulation has happened this week.
Not really sure how long I should keep this up for, or if we take to the next level. What is the next level?
welcome babytruj
I am recently new to this site aswell and my story is very similar. my man and I have been trying for 2 years with one failed pregnancy that took 14 months to make! since then nothing has happened! we have been doing the general tests but not any answers yet. are you seeing a fertility specialst or just your gp? im about to get a referel to an ivf clinic for a review thats the next step I would take if you havent done it already. We have waited 6 months and finally went and did something about it the sooner the better it makes the days go a little faster knowing you are progressing somewhat. Anyway if you have msn we could have a chat as i dont know how to work this site just yet!
Hi 21andTTC.
I am seeing a gynaecologist, so not just a gp, but we may look to move to a specialist shortly. I think the next steps are to do a few more tests. I think for me its a laparoscopy and/or hysteroscopy. to rule out any problems there.
My DH work colleague said there were some more tests they can do on the sperm, which they don't tend to do at first... Although I'm not sure what the tests are. Will see what the doc says next week when we go.
I think this time we have a list of questions to ask to see where we are going.
I'm scared of trying to start IVF. I guess I don't really know whats involved.
Hi Guys,
I am not doing very well on reading up on this thread today! I am sorry if I sound like I have no idea what is going on yet....
Melz, you currently have a hcg? Congrats that is fantastic - you are testing again tomorrow? If so, good luck that they will keep on rising
How many IUI's? I am not sure. The Dr thinks about 3, but I have hear that about 5 is required.I am starting to struggle with this like you did... but hopefully only one more is required...honestly i am very scared of IVF, as I have found IUI very easy to deal with, I am scared it will be so much more scarier.
Big hello to other newies here babytruj and 21andttc1. Sorry for no other personals - I have to do some catching up on this thread.
what is hcg?
Hi There
I have never joined an online forum before and this is my first post - so I am hoping that this will work!
My husband and I have been TTC since 2006 and we have just failed our first attempt at IVF -ICSI, we didn't even get to transfer (actually got to the clinic physically but then were told the news). I only had 5 eggs retrieved, 4 mature, 2 fertilized and made it to day 3 and then didn't make it to day 5. We are both shattered. We are able to start again as soon as we like and that will be as soon as AF arrives.
I wanted to link up with others experiencing the IVF journey and ask if any of you started a treatment cycle so soon again?
Look forward to chatting.

Hi Bella,
Welcome to BB, I am fairly new aswell. I am sorry to hear your sad news, how frustrating, especially to get to the clinic & then they tell you, that must have been so hard. Your experience sounds very similar to mine, I always get around 6 eggs & there are never any strong enough to freeze, however I do make it to the embryo transfer, but it never sticks.
What clinic are you with? I know how hard this is but try and be strong, I wish you all the best for your future IVF cycles, please keep me updated.
