So sorry Mrs OM big hug mind yourself hun.

Amy there's mixed opinion I've heard about dtd during tww as some Doc say if you O it can cause uterine contractions which can disrupt implantation. We didn't just in case and like Juniper said with all pessary residue it might not be pleasant

Other two embryos didnt make it so nothing grew to day 5 that was suitable for freezing. At least we have two left, but I am not holding out much hope for them. I have a strong suspicion we will be moving onto PGD soon. Sigh.

    Sorry mrs om

So Sorry Mrs O'M! Look after yourself!

Afm - saw FS today. Plan is to start FET cycle in December. She mentioned thinking about doing another stim cycle to get some fresh embryos to do chromosome checks. So that would be next on the list. She's also testing for NK cells.

She had options for us so feeling good. And getting excited now. Love it when there's a plan :-)

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis - its where they take out a cell when the embryo is developing a pond test it for chromosomal abnormalities to test whether its "normal" and therefore most likely to be a successful pregnancy.

FS said that the pregnancy rates for PGD are 38% regardless of age. Which is reassuring - but everything is expensive of course.

Our last full PGD cycle (including feasibility testing, stim, testing & transfer) cost ~ 15K before any phi/Medicare rebates. Came out at about 8K out of pocket. Feasibility testing can take almost 3 months if looking for a known problem but not sure about testing for just 'normal' chromosomal abnormalities. It can be pretty daunting but also very rewarding.

Hoping for another miracle to make our family complete xx

Hi everyone, I'm coming back in here. I'm waiting for AF (is a few weeks off tho) and going to do another trial cycle, and go from there. I feel we are ready though.
I'll try to keep up with everyone, but find it hard sometimes.
    Thinking of you all though.

Sorry there were no frosties myturn We also looked at PGD but at $8500 out of pocket, we decided not to do it, we just don't have that kind of money. Also, we are averaging around 3 embryos per cycle, and the FS said to make it worthwhile, you need around 10 embryos for testing in the US. That would mean 3 or so back to back cycles, I don't think I could do it.

So sorry again Mrs O'M, look after yourself hun

    Welcome back TT40!

    Hello to everyone else

Speaking of the chromosomal testing, apparently there is a $900 test for all that in the US? So you have a 12 week scan, and if there is increased risk for something (I would say there would be for me now simply b/c of my age) they send a blood sample off to the US instead of the CVS testing. Anyone heard of that?

Miss B our clinic has that test it costs $850 and it tests for a huge range of abnormalities and is 99% accurate according to our FS...
