I'm with tashybabe and Audax - i think a bank account is a great idea.

I did not buy things. Not because i'm superstitious, but i didn't want to see things that reminded me that i was TTC for so long. Even when i saw things on special - i resisted the urge.
I'm glad i didn't buy stuff as I would have changed my mind on carseats and carriers and baths etc, as new and improved ones hit the market.

Blankets you will proabably be given lots for bub.
Bottles - don't buy yet, you never know how you might be feeding your baby.
Jumpsuits can always be picked up fairly cheaply any time of year.

    JMO though.

The idea of a bank account is a great idea - wish I had thought of that when we started TTC #1.

I have been ttc for 6 years and have bought things in the three pregnancy's I have lost . So I have heaps of baby clothes, socks, blankets, and toys. I am not supersticious at all. The reason I lost my pregancy's was because of trisomy's not because of a baby outfit. So to me the supersticious side of things doesnt gell. However :

My only sad part of this is : My first pregancy we got to 11 weeks and I purchased a beautiful bassinette, my DH is a little sad that it reminds him of the one we lost all those years ago. I will put little gaurdian angels on the skirt, as a sign they are in our hearts.

Our friends were selling a cot, change table and rocking chair which we bought from them 18 months before DS was born, it was a bargain and we stored it out of sight, We bought a few new things as a sign of hopefulness while we were TTC but nothing major.

However an friend who has had many failed IVF attempts and a number of early m/c has a fully decked out nursery and she cant open the door. She plans on buying all new stuff should she ever get pregnant, some things are outdated. It haunts her So I think you need to be a bit level headed about it all.

A Baby Bank account is a great idea
