Happy Easter... I have been TTC since Feb last year, and whilst I am able to fall pregnant I don't seem to be able to make it past 5wks, and have since had 3 m/c... We moved to a new city in Jan and the only doc I could get into to see (the 6 which had been recommended didn't take new patients) said that as I could get pregnant I didn't have a problem and I should just keep trying! HOwever as Im sure you can imagine, my heart is breaking and Im not sure I can endure another m/c. So I know that you girls are a great source of knowledge and information and I would love any thoughts on the following...
I believe my hormone levels are low and that's why I cant make it past 5wks... I used to have a 28 day cycle and after the last m/c which lasted 5.5 wks of bleeding it's now 26 days and rather than 2 days of v light bleeding I now have 3 days but then continue to spot to at least cycle day 8 -10... Is there anything I can take which could increase the hormone levels? Would Clomid help?
My heart is breaking and I turn 35 soon and if Im not pregnant by then, then that's it for me, so I feel like the clock is ticking....
You are certainly having a rough journey, and I completly understand why you wouldnt want to leave it to chance, and risk another m/c . I would definatly not be stopping at the gp's suggestion.
Why do you think your hormones are low ? And if so, which hormones ? Is it Progesterone, which supports your Lutueal Phase, that you think is low ?
Hi, Yep tried vitex and evening primrose oil, after O and also tried vitex all month, also taking B6...
I was hoping someone on here might know which hormone might be low and what I can take to increase it... I think it's progesterone, I believe that it's such a low level which is why I m/c around 5 wks.
I thought the spotting around cycle day 6 - 10 might also be a sign of the low levels.
Has anyone had similar and what can be done? I am at such a loss here...
Hi TUP - I'm sorry to hear of your losses. If I were you I'd be looking for answers rather than just keep trying too.
I think your best bet would be to see a Fertility specialist or at least a gynae to have some blood work and other tests done. Hopefully they will be able to figure out what the problem is. It could be an issue with low progesterone (your FS can prescribe progesterone support in the form of pessaries), but there are other possibilities also (for eg, antibodies, genetic issues....).
All the best~~
