tasha: the effects from the dye test should last longer than the one cycle

joeve: what is your body doing today do you think ? do you think you ovulated or not sure with the confusing opt ?

andie: great news for you, hopefully we will be in the 2ww together

afm: so i heard from the scientist, 3 out of the 7 eggs fertilised, she said another 1 fertilised abnormally, 1 didn't fertilise and the other 2 were immature (probably from the smaller follicles), so basically she said out of the 5 mature ones 3 is a good number, i guess thats true. they will look at them again on sunday and fingers crossed they are 6-8 cells by then

    Hi Girls.

Mich - Yay for the surge let hope you get to save your IVF money for more fun things.

Andie - Whoo surge for you too I hope your embies do brilliantly ready for wednesday.

Minnie - 3 from 5 is great numbers I hope they grow super strong

Tasha - The frustration must be killing! I think the chances after the dye test are improved for 3 months afterwards so don't stress that one.

AFM - Well no IUI for me this month as I managed to grow 3 follies!! 21mm and 20mm on the left (no wonder its a bit ouchy) and an 18mm on the right. Legally they can't insem me with 3 and have to advise me not to try at home either AS IF!!! Like I'm going to waste 3 perfectly good eggs that I spent a week and a half injecting to grow! Both FS and the nurse knew full well I would still go ahead. I even managed to get them to give me a trigger so I don't have to wait till cd17 or later to O. So I'll trigger tonight and insem tomorrow and sunday, bring it on little eggies

Oh Tasha - just hoping and praying for you that the police check comes through in time Babies are just so bittersweet aren't they?
Andie - yay, we really are in sync! Surge sisters too, ha ha ha!
Minnie - ooh, hopefully those 3 embies all grow perfectly. What day transfer are they planning for you?
Joeve- something tells me with the added confusion you will be POAS like crazy!!
Sunbeam - Sounds like you've triggered so you can be part of the left ovary, synchronised ov gang! Ha ha I knew you'd go with the home thing! I think it's quite exciting to think you might have 3 chances. I'm excited!! Ha ha
    Hi all

AFM - I'm still surging tonight (darkest line I think I've ever seen!) so no ov yet. DP has declared there will be no dtd tonight so I suppose last night's "action" will have to do!

Mich I'm a bit excited to, it's like having 3 months TTC in one go. I will insem at 9.30am tomorrow and 3.30pm on sunday so I'm thinking I should trigger at about 9am tomorrow which should make me O about 9pm sunday. What do you recon? I figure it gives the spermies time to get there and get ready, So hard to know.

Can't you convince DH into one more go, maybe in the morning?

I've been googling to find out how long it takes sperm to get to the egg and the answers vary from 30 mins to 12 hours! Anyone know the real answer?

The timing is so hard isn't it? I guess you need to insem earlier than for IUI because the spermies actually have to travel. Would they live from 9.30am sat to 9pm sun after being outside the body? I don't know the answer, just wondering.

It's a bit loony but DP and I haven't dtd outside the hours of 6-9pm for about 2 years I reckon!! He's a man who likes routine... and an early bedtime!

Sunbeam not sure if this will help but my clinic have me and Dh dtd the day before and then the following two days after I trigger. I'm using 50 of puregon in the lead up before the trigger. (sorry for barging in again girl!)

Hey Sunbeam - I just looked up some journals and couldn't find much. One article I found though said sperm was found in the fallopian tubes after vaginal insemination in 5 mins in some women and an hour in others. That sounds really short!! It didn't say anything about how long they could live in there tho??

Mich - The spermies are only outside for about 5 mins or so before I insem (so less time than it would take to get them to the clinic) and once in they can live for a few days once they reach the fallopian tubes, I'm just not sure how long that a takes them to get there, but I know it is better if they are there when the egg arrives. The trigger makes you O about 36-37 hours after injecting so I just need to know when the sperm will be ready! Its all too confusing!

Keta - Please don't apologise you always have good info to share I appreciate the input.

Mich I think that sounds right for an IUI but if they have to swim all the way it is a longer trip. I can't believe there isn't a definitive answer, maybe the real answer is 30mins to 12 hours depending on how speedy they are.

Oh I watched a documentary on SBS not long ago about sperms. One of the scientists was a lady who was getting her tubes tied and she went home and DTD and then went straight in to have her surgery. When they cut the tubes they examined them to see how many sperms made it to the fallopian tube (can't remember how many hours later though!) and there was only about 8 sperm I think....

It's getting interesting in here!!! I loved watching the great sperm race maybe you can google and watch it.
Still cm here some cramping and not much else. I am wishing the tww away but I am dreading AF. Nothing abnormal about that I guess....
Sunbeam I think you should get them in there at least 5 hours before you expect to o so about 31 - 32 hours post trigger shot .

Joeve - All this cm is confusing do you think you are O'ing now? It would be odd to get wet cm this long after O'ing from when you thought you O'ed it usually all drys up after that. Our bodies are all just going crazy!
Yes I'm with you I recon give them 5 hours or so the fast ones will be rested and the slow ones will be just about there

I have no idea, opk's neg barely a line except for one half as dark as control line. HPT negative too although too early but yanno we do them anyway LOL. I have had all kinds of cm today, clumpy, a bit of eggwhite etc... fun! I feel like I need a sponge down there. At least I have made it further this month than last as AF is not here yet. Wish I had of had the BT to confirm ov either way..... oh well.
I think thats a good time frame for the fast ones to be there waiting for your egg and the slow ones to catch up in case the fast ones are not smart enough to crack an egg!

lol how smart do you have to be to crack an egg, no dumb sperms please!

With my OPKs the positive line is never the whole line it is always much darker on one half. You must be close to O to have that much cm surely!
