kass ~ hun i am taking 1000mg tablet/capsule form (but damn!! they haven't arrived yet :( so i will start them either tomorrow or friday) can't be 1/2 as bad as the bloody liquid caplets i take (swisse ultivite pregnancy) they make me gag EVERY time!!!!
i start jabbing next monday!!!!! damn time has flown.....
-
1mp - take two of them. The recommended dose is 2000mg daily (so I have read)..
Also stop taking from transfer as they are not recommended in pg x
-
thanks N2L :D
are any of you taking wheatgrass?? apparently it is good for TTC via IVF.... off to google it some more...
-
Hi All,
I hope you are all going OK.
Loops - bugger, this really sucks big time, just goes to show how extreme the highs and lows are and just how quickly they can change but there is always the underlining stress lurking... always. TTC just tends to swamp everything. Big hugs to you, all I can offer to you is that you are not alone in your situation which is of course may be of little comfort to you when you are feeling so crappy but sometimes it helps to know that someone else can eempathise with your predicament (and I don't think anyone who hasn't been on the LTTC journey can quite understand)
Williever - hoping today's blood tests give you your FET date. Good luck!!
1MorePlz - How are you finding Lite & Easy? I got my first delivery yesterday and started this morning. DH and I are both doing it. For the cost, it probably works out the same as a normal week's meals when you take into account eating out and impulsive supermarket purchases etc. Hopefully we can focus a bit on getting more healthy and losing a few kg's before our next cycle.
Just wanted to know, can anyone tell me of the extra benefits of becoming a paid subscriber on BB?
Also, just wanted to say again how much I appreciate that I have found such a lovely supportive bunch of ladies on BB. Let's hope 2011 is going to be our year - for all of us!!!!!!!!!!
-
Morning everyone Happy St Paddy's day :goodluck:
1moreplz Good luck with the weight loss. It's distressing how the kgs crept on when ttc. For me I'm either too scared to exercise or over eating to fill an empty feeling.
N2L I hope you haven't gone crazy waiting. You're halfway now and I'm just over halfway. I stare at the calendar everyday watching it get a day closer to the 22nd. FX are crossed for a BFP for you.
Williever Are you doing a natural FET? Good luck today, hope the BT gives you a date for your FET.
Loops I hope you're feeling better. I'm another person that knows exactly how you feel about bding while lttc.
Tantee I became a paid BB subscriber so I could have an avatar and also because I thought it was a site that was worth donating/subscribing to. Good luck with the weight loss.
Kass, Saffy & JBM Best of luck for your upcoming new cycles.
AFM This waiting is so painful. It's really going by so slowly but only 5 days now. I just pray that the pg sac has grown and the embryo is still alive.
xxHB
-
Happybaby, hang in there. Hoping so much for you that all is well. C'mon little embie!
Good point... I agree about the subscription, for all the comfort and knowledge that it has provided to me over the last few years, I think I will subscribe, as BB has been invaluable to me.
-
Woohoo - am now a life member. Yay for me
-
Tantee now time to choose an avi!
-
One jab down... :)
Looking forward to seeing your new avi tantee!
happybaby - really hoping you get good news :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:

Hi all
Have not had a chance to come in here on PC (ie. Not phone) for a couple of days. Still on phone and at work so not a long post. Will try to get on again when I get home. Needless to say I am thinking of you all x
Eight days past transfer and I have given up trying to analyze every little thing. Right now I feel a bit queasy and I feel like I am getting a cold. Had some sharp stabby pains down low but my boobs seem less sore. Also been hot and cold at night with weird dreams. Who knows!!
I desperately want to poas but dp is dead against it in case of a false reading. I might sneak one in on the weekend and keep it to myself. Back later xx
-
Thank you so much ladies for all your advise and support- I knew you would understand and make me feel better. I really appreciate everything. Your words have been so kind and lovely. I think just a break from B'Ding may be good - well at least for a few days lol. I'll try not to get too bogged down in O'ing etc and just try enjoy life - huh if I can.
I will also have a chat to my step-mum who is a councellor or may even try and see another councellor - esp if things continue this way. Thanks again.
Goodluck ladies, for you all!!! xoxo
-
tantee ~ hun both DH & myselfare doing lite n easy...we love it!!!! i still have to cook though...kids :)
i have lost in 1 week 3.9kgs :D
got my royal jelly today...shall start tonight....2000mg
question about the royal jelly....if/once you get a BFP is thatwhen it is stopped???
-
1mp - stop at opu. No need to take after that as no eggs in there! Once transfer happens you are technically pg so you can't take it.
-
-
Update - Another BT tomorrow............tired!
Will be back when I'm feeling less like a zombie xxx
-
Hey everyone. Sorry I havent been around, dh and I are buying a house and I've been trying to focus all my energies on that rather than ttc.
Have got questions though... I'm curently doing a down reg cycle, on the pill and due to start sniffing my syneryl (spelling...sorry) on monday. Now they have bookwd an ultrasound on the 6th but she said for now... Now is this us meant to help them see when im ovulating? And is the date dependent on when af comes? Normally when would epu then be??? Im more worried about work, its so tight here I think ill end up having to just call in sick the mornings stuff is happening.... Because to get a requested day off you have to ask like 2 months ahead (they are currntly asking for our june requests...) So a basic timetable might help me work out how guilty ill feel taking which days off...
Ty so much girls! Even tho I dont post I am thinking of u all!

Teirae ~ hun we will be starting together :) i start jabbing on monday (lucrin instead of crappy synarel) so we should roughly be in 2ww together :)
hi to everyone else....
AFM ~ managed to chane my appointment to today to pick up meds, as monday just meant being late to work or not going...i don't need a show n tell of how to jab, just need the meds and dosage....then start on monday :)
-
Go 1MPlz! Glad jabs are starting.
Teirae- you should get AF after you stop the pill, mine was a few days later I think. It doesn't really matter when AF comes, they give you a cycle day 1 whether you have af or not. Do you know when you start injections? its usually a week or so after AF. The u/s should be a week or so after that, to check follicle size and lining. My clinic has it all written on a piece of paper- very necessary for brainless twits like me. Good luck with the house, we bought one last year, the paperwork of that and ivf nearly drove me bonkers!
I'm going off for my scan and BT now, feeling ok about it as i can feel my ovaries are swollen but still didn't get much sleep last night so must have been secretly worried, will come back with results and more persies this arvo xxx
-
9dp2dt
I am an idiot. I just did a test.
BFN
It was a FRER so I am out :(
I feel like crap.
n2l
-
Oh N2L I'm sorry you got a BFN
Teirae Good luck with this cycle. It's hard to work out the EPU date. Mine was 3 weeks after I started the Synarel. I had a blood test 9 days after starting the Synarel to check that my hormones were surpressed enough and then I could start the FSH injections a day later. All the best.
Saffy good luck with the bt and scan. I too haven't been sleeping well. My brain just doesn't want to shut down. Hope it all goes well.
-
Good morning ladies
n2l ~ :comfort: It could still be too early though, 9DPO is pretty early and sometimes no matter what the test it wont show up. Dont give up hope just yet. :crossfingers: for you!
1MOREPLZ ~ Good luck on the Royal Jelly, I'm taking it too. Also for Monday - all the best on the journey - hope you get a BFP at the end!
Williever ~ Goodluck for your scan tomorrow - hope there are loads of juicy follies.
Teirae ~ its been a while now since I last did a down reg cycle but what Saffy has said sounds pretty spot on. We also bought a house in the middle of Assisted cycles and TTC - so I know the stress of it all too - goodluck! Its also very exciting though!
Saff ~ thinking of you today and :crossfingers: tight that you have loads of juicy follies! :goodluck:
Hi to HB, Kass, Tantee and thanks for all your support ladies. And to anyone I may have missed.
Hope everyone is well xoxo
AFM ~ Still dont think I've O'd - still faint test lines and my temp hasn't risen at all - it's only around 36degC to 36.3 at the most. Now im getting a cold or flu :(
I have 4 days off work after today so I hope I dont get too bad and can enjoy it.
-
:comfort: N2L- I'm so sorry hun, but I don't think you should discount it just yet, you are still technically only 11dpo and even if implantation had occured one day later, this could make a difference to POAS. Hang in there... one thing I have learnt from this trip.. expect the unexpected.
Happybaby - I really feel for you... the waiting is enough to really drive you insane. It's the unknown element that is always the hardest to cope with, at least when you know what's happening, you can make plans to deal with it either way. Hang in there
Teaire - Good luck with your house, how exciting.... is it a big move you're making or close by? What a pain re time off work, especially when it's generally only an hour or so needed at a time. Maybe you could say you had a migraine or something and were late cause you were waiting for your tablets to kick in. Alternatively 'lady pains' or food poisening may work a treat, noone asks questions about those.
1MorePlz - Isn't it sad how excited we get to be jabbing and how matter of fact we are about the needles now. I don't think a few years ago I could have imagined jabbing myself but now it doesn't phase me at all and would rather an extra jab daily than take synarel. Good luck with this cycle and enjoy your weekend.
Willi - how are you feeling?
kass - Happy jabbing, when is your US scheduled for?
Loops - Hope you are feeling better soon and that you enjoy your long weekend. Do you have anything interesting planned?
Saffy - Good luck with your US, I hope you have lots of juicy follies happening.
Sorry if I've missed anyone, am sending lots of :pink-babydust::bluedust: to you all.
-
Morning ladies!
Loops - enjoy your time off - hope the cold stays away!
ntl - sorry you got -ve. Hopefully it's too early
Saffy - hope your tests went well today!
Williever - hope today is your last bt too!
1moreplz - Wow! That's heaps for one week!
Teirae - my collections (I'm up to no.4 - argh!) have gone like this: No pill, Synarel from day 21, then puregon from day 2 (I'm pretty regular, af day 30/1 this month), bt day 8, I'll probably do us day 10 (but it depends on the bt) and probably trigger that night and do pick up on day 12. This is what's happened the past 3 times anyway, but if my levels aren't right at bt I could have a couple more days jabbing before us, and if the follies aren't big enough at us I could have a couple more days before trigger. Everyone's different and it's so hard to predict! Not helpful for work I know
Congrats on the house!
Hi Tantee, Hapybaby and anyone I've missed :hello:
Silly question from me - It doesn't really matter what time you take synarel does it? I've been aiming to do the same time each night, but tonight I won't be home till after one... I'm sure in past cycles I've just done it as I've gone to bed/woken up and not worried about what the time was, but I'm trying to be extra good with this one - what do you think?
-
kass-shouldn't make any difference unless you completely missed a dose and went for 24hrs, which youre not. Good luck, don't stress, most people would have forgotten a dose for a few hrs here and there x
tantee- thanks, hope things are going well for you xx
loops- hope you can get rid of your cold for your days off, do you O on a regular day or is it all over the place? Hope it happens soon x
happybaby- I wouldn't be sleeping a wink if i were you! Do you have any symptoms? I soooo hope this little one holds on tight :stickyvibesgirl:
N2L- don't give up yet, there is still heaps of time to get a bfp- 11DPO is early, I would wait a few more days before trying again- I know, impossible!! FX
AFM- scan was good , she said I was the best one she had that morning and should be rigt for EPU Monday. 9 good follies at this stage, have to wait til this arvo for confirmation.
Of course, my joy was short lived, as both the u/s woman and my acupuncturist said our fertilisation rate (6/10) was not great last time- this is the first I've heard that. The clinic says 60-70% is normal but apparently a guy w normal sperm count should be getting better rates. GRRRR I am so angry cos DH will not stop drinking alcohol ( not an alco but has 1-2 beers or wines probably 5 nights/wk-he's a pom!), he regularly gives up for a couple of months every now and again but not when I'm doing IVF-:wall:makes my blood boil thinking about it. So my acupuncturist wants him to come in for a session before EPU- HaHa, he will freak, and I am not making it optional. SOOO mad with him right now, thanks god I made him take menevit. If someone had told me this earlier I would have put my foot down and made sure he didn't drink, oh well can't change it now FX
-
i'm out for at least 2/3mths :( have to get my weight down drastically....i'm a blubbering mess right now
-
1MP....
This whole thing is so foul isnt it??
I am a blubbering mess too. I just called my FS to book a review appointment and her assistant said I cant get in until May 26. My FS will call me on the weekend to discuss.
I know that my weight is a major factor in my fertility (or lack thereof). Maybe we can work together to lose weight. It is sooooo f*cking hard though.
If I was there I would give you a massive hug. (I would probably ask for one back though!)
Take care xxxxx
n2l
-
1moreplz- Who said that? you poor darling xxxx
N2L- don't panic yet, you are still in with a chance xxxx
-
N2L ~ Thanks hunni :)
Saffy ~ hun nurse and FS :( oh well...what can i do??? i wm more determined now more than ever.... i am only slightly over their BMI intake number....i am going to go hard and show them!!!!
-
Thanks Saffy,
But I really dont hold out much hope. I used a FRER test with first morning urine. My boobs arent sore anymore. I am not tired (in other words, no real pg symptoms). When I rang my clinic the nurse seemed to agree with me that it was likely that the BFN would stick. She said - and I quote - "those home tests are pretty accurate".
She said I could go in on Monday or Tuesday (instead of Wednesday) for the BT.
Right now I am contemplating a few things -
-What did I do wrong? Was it the coffee I continued to drink? Was it the orgasm I had yesterday?(sorry if TMI) the bath i had two days after transfer?
-What now? Should I use the "less than perfect" frozen embie I have? Or start another fresh cycle.
- Should I ask for more tests to see if there is something else wrong with me? Should I have a lap? Will that help (never had one before)
- How can I keep this secret from DP? He didnt want me to test at all. He will be so upset about it not working. I feel so bad for letting him down.....I feel I have to hide this from him until the official testing day.
- Is my body just too old and broken and fat to conceive, no matter what assistance I get?
Sorry for the 'woe is me' post. This is my first IVF BFN. It hurts like f*ck.
-
What is their BMI cutoff 1MP?
That sounds unfair to me...
-
Kass - What time do you normally take it? If it's only a couple of hours different, I'm sure it would be ok but best to check with your clinic to put your mind at ease.
Saffy - Have they suggested ICSI at all? I too had crappy fertilisation rates and tried ICSI last cycle and went from 1 out of 4 fertilising with a 2 day transfer on one cycle to having 7 blasts from 12 on the ICSI cycle 4 months later. DH's count is pretty normal too.
I am the same with my DH, he is the same as yours with the alcohol and he smokes, AND I have to remind him almost every day to take the Menevit. Like really, all they have to do is pop ONE vitamin pill daily (I take 3) and have a little self-love session per cycle - that's it! It really narks me sometimes but I try not to think about it because the complaining gets me nowhere anyway.
1More - You are on the road to success already, that is awesome weight loss for one week already. It's catch 22 isn't it, cause all the meds and emotions cry for comfort food (and I don't know about you but I love my food at the best of times!)
How did they come to that decision when you were all set to pick up your meds?
N2L - Geez.. May 26th.. I hope they can put you on standby in case of a cancellation... hopefully you won't need the appt.
AFM - 2nd day of Lite & easy and loving it and surprising DH isn't minding it also. Aiming to lose at least 10kg. It's just the exercise part that I am allergic to. Will try and start walking a bit now that the weather is a bit cooler. Also, went to Medicare to claim for U/S last week and they said I have met my quota of 4 and am not entitled to a rebate.:wtf: They are counting the claims for U/Sounds done last Aug & Sep from my M/C pregnancy and 2 x u/s for IVF cycles in the quota and she couldn't even tell me if it was financial or calendar year. At $100/pop, they will sure add up throughout the year. I will definately try and take this further as I think this is unfair.
-
:hello: girls,
I've been stalking for some time, but have been keeping quiet while my first round of IVF ramps up.
My EPU was originally booked for Wed 23rd, but has been moved forward to the 21st (Monday :o) due to me responding so well to the Puregon. At my u/s this morning, the nurse counted 18 follies, which is why they've brought it forward.
I was just wondering, how long does EPU take? I have to be at the hossy at 7am and EPU is booked at 8am. DH will drop his sperm off at the clinic at 7am... should he hang around, or should I just send him home?
-
Nic - He should hang around. I was under a general and pretty groggy. DH HAD to drive. You should have someone there. I was also in a bit of pain (not sure if that's normal EPU or because I had the polyp removed). Def need someone there!
N2l - I don't know what to say. Nothing I say will help. Just know we are here for you. We understand. Work through the questions you have and try to rest you mind. You poor thing.
Hi to everyone. Sounds like lots going on.
afm - been called in for another BT tomorrow and prob. Sunday too......Levels are increasing so O is on the way. CD16 today. BT's nearly everyday this week. I AM TIRED!! Plus I look like a junkie! My veins are actually hiding now. It is painful and frustrating. It feels like my EPU was a year ago....
-
hi ladies
elocin: welcome to lttc. good luck for EPU , i was only in hospital after my first epu for a couple of hours, but next time i woild prob take a couple more as i was so stuffed after i left. i don't know ho long it took?, good luck and praying for a BFP.
tantee:it's hard to lose weight, i know. i have been walking with friends twice a week and one of them we take turns cooking or making a healthy meal for us to share, it's good as we keep each other motivated and it helps. bummer about u/s. good luck to you. x o
n2l: it's so hard the BFN's and the first is the worst, all i can say is try not to over analyse it and blame anything you did or you will go insane. i kept getting BFN's and it is hard but all we can do is keep moving forward. i am about to start my 2nd full stim cycle and all i can do is pray for a BFP this time. good luck to you. fingers crossed for next time. maybe it might help to read the lttc success stories they're good when you're feeling a bit down. x fingers crossed for you.
1moreplz: bummer for you hey but if it increases your chances it may be worth it. big hug for you. maybe try the diet and weight loss support thing on here as there are a few of us who need to lose a little weight and support helps. good luck to you. x o
saffy: men!. thank god my DH doesn't drink and i have him also taking all the vitamins. lol. yeah send him to acu that'll teach him. lol. good luck to you. good luck for EPU and ET. fingers crossed. x o
kass: i only just picked up my synarel on tue and nurse said to me to try to take same time each morning and night but if you're a little late it doesn't matter. good luck to you. woohoo, yipee. it's all happening and i won't be far behind you. x
loops: hope you " 0 "soon and then you can get some action happening and pray for a BFP. good luck to you
i actually think i got everyone !!!
afm: well nothing new til about 1st of april i go off pill, so pray for af to be good and can start synarel and gonal f jabbing. woohoo. i am on aome fertility support from acupuncture lady and will put dh on some mens stuff to help his little trapped friends. lol
not long to go now. got my fingers and toes crossed .
chat soon guys
-
sorry i missed you williever, we must have been posting at the same time ? good luck with O. fingers crossed
-
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to say thank you all sooooo much for your words of comfort and wisdom. I know most of you have been in my shoes and have felt exactly what I am feeling right now. It isn't strictly true to say no words will make it better, because I do feel a little better after reading your posts (and having a good cry!)
I have decided to do a complete backflip and try to stay positive. Even though it is highly unlikely, I may be one of those women with slow/low HCG numbers. The three times I have been pregnant, twice I did not get a BFP until six weeks or more. The first tests I did came up negative each time. One of those pregnancies is now on sitting on the couch reading the lastest "Little Angel" magazine and dreaming of her upcoming 9th birthday slumber party. My mum said that she was the same with all five of her pregnancies (including one twin pg).
So, for now, I am going to be an ostrich and live in denial until I have confirmation from the BT. I may live to regret it but what else can I do?
So, HPT, this is what I think of your BFN ---- :tmi: (if only there was a little "up yours" smilie!)
-
n2l:thumbsup: You have nothing to lose ;)
Thanks JBM
ME = :bedtime:
-
Absolutely Willi!!!!!!
My sanity is already gone!!!!!!!
-
Ntl - Yep - definitely stay positive - esp if it's taken 6 weeks in the past! Fingers crossed!
Williever - you poor thing! Endless bt's are awful
JBM - thanks!
Elocin - good luck for Monday! You'll probably be in for about 3 hours - the procedure is usually pretty quick, but you'll be there about an hour before you start and you'll stay for at least an hour after it's done. Your dh will need to stick around to drive you home - they should let him sit with you once the op is done. He'll probably only have an hour or so to kill after he's done his bit
Tantee - thanks! Medicare can be frustrating - I've had claims refused but when I've called to question them they've ended up processing them - all I can suggest is calling and speaking with someone who deals specifically with ivf - the people at the branches usually can't fix things
1moreplz - I can't believe they let you collect your meds and then cancelled on you! I'd be really upset too! I hope the next couple of months fly by and you have lots of success with the weight loss
Saffy - thanks - I know I'm overthinking! It's tough when your partner won't do what you want - I have found it really difficult that I have been eating well and not drinking while dh has done as he pleased. This round he finally agreed to stop drinking until after the pick up, which I'm really grateful for- I was hoping to get three months in but since we decided not to use our frozen ones, it's probably been 6 weeks - mind you if it doesn't affect the outcome I doubt he'll do it again! Good on you for getting him to the ap!
Afm - my new dilemma is keeping my meds cold - a tree has taken out our power line :( I'm going to take everything over to the inlaws, but I hope our power is back soon - I really don't want to go over there in the morning to do my shot! Very annoying!
Sorry for any weird typos - had to do this on the phone :)
-
Speaking of Medicare....
I wanted to share something that might get you all some more money back!!!
I have been told from the start that the Day bed fee for the OPU was non-refundable by Medicare. Not true!! Mine cost $805 (plus anaesthetic) I lodged a claim and I got back about $250. Better than nothing!!
I dont have private health insurance so every little rebate helps!!!
Hope it saves someone else some money :)
