-
Good luck PlanetSasha !!!
So excited for your surge myturn. Absolutely stoked!!! FX this is it for you xxx
Thanks Pholi x
Thanks for all the hugs girls. Actually I am doing surprisingly well. Its amazing how blase you become with hearing a negative for the last 15 monts in a row. Its definately harder when its an IVF neg, but after the dissappointment of the day, I find I just get back onto the band wagon. I went to our local gym last night and got prices and looked around. I think I am going to try a spin class tomorrow night. DH is away for work and i have to fill in the time somehow. Heaven help me! It will probably kill me :)
-
Thats awesome Planetsasha. 1 x day 5 right? BT in 2 weeks?
-
 YAY PlanetSasha!
Vic - good on you for going to the gym, I did a spin class awhile ago and it DID almost k!ll me LOL Its awesome though and it keeps your mind occupied too.
:goodluck:
-
Stupid phone! It was supposed to be hi ho hi ho! Yes Vic 1x day 5 possible 3 going to be frozen today or tomorrow. bt is on the 16/3. I'll be back later tonight to stay hi to everyone:)
-
Congrats Sasha!!
Hi to everyone else :hello:
I need some opinions...
For the past day and a half I have had the smallest amount of bleeding but just when I wipe. No need for a tampon at all.
Not sure whether to count this as AF?? :dunno:
The reason it's a problem is I am meant to have BTs on day 2.
Thoughts???

I had that too N2L for my first line up, since my cycle was so long. I was supposed to have a scan on day2 but they decided it wasn't worth it. They did count it as AF though. Perhaps ring your clinic. Some AF are really light for me (why wear a pad), some normal. I would definately call the clinic if your in the second day of it.
-
Hi N2L - from what the nurses have said to me they only count day one when you have FULL AF, seems to me this is only spotting??
Just my thoughts but I would wait till it gets heavier but it depends whats heavy for you??
-
I guess for me they counted it as CD1 as I had a 21 day prog test earlier confirming that I did ovulate.

Question - For those of you who have had multiple BFN's and dont know why, have you ever asked about testing for NK cells and all that sort of stuff?
And for those of you who have been tested what sort of tests are done? Are they blood tests? I have a FS appt next Thursday and feel very frustrated and am looking for answers.
Thanks
Vic
-
Thanks guys! I rang FS and if I am still having bleeding tomorrow I have to have bt.
Vic, I have asked about NK cells but there are only a handful of FS in Australia who believe they have any effect on conception. My FS says (and I quote!) it is BS. I know that you need to have a biopsy to test though, not just BT.
With regards to other tests, there are a whole heap you can do testing for genetic abnormality or chromosomal issues. I had them done mid last year. It is all through BT.
On phone now but can hunt down list later.
If your FS is anything like mine they will put your BFNs down to age. Which sucks because there is no treatment for that :(
-
Vic - I was tested for NK cells when I had my cyst removed, my FS found that mine were elevate & has since been treating me for them. I know there aren't many FS that believe that they are an issue but mine does so fingers crossed the treatment has worked:)
-
I think he is putting it down to age. He looks at me and tilts his head to the side and says "wellllll, you are 41". Apart from that he is really lovely, and I am probably more sensitive to his every mannerism. I may ask him for the blood test for other stuff though. Would be good to rule that out I guess.
Glad you rang your clinic. What are you testing for, if you dont mind me asking?
Planetsasha, I have my FX for you that it does sweetie x
-
Ive thought about having mine tested but I would have to change clinics. Then there would be a wait for the biopsy (not to mention the extra cost :( ) I'm just not sure if it is worth the chance (for me!) iykwim.
-
Me either. If I had of know about it in my first attempt, I would have had it done when I had my polyp removed and my D&C. Didn't even know about it back then. But cant justify it now.
What about assisted hatching? Any thoughts on that? Any success stories???
-
I'm just getting my FSH and AMH redone, along with ca125 (ovarian cancer tumour marker).
-
Good luck with all of that. Did you have good numbers last time?
-
Thanks. My fsh is usually between 2.5 and 5.5. My last AMH was 14.9.
-
Not too sure on the fsh, but thats a great AMH. Time is on your side too it would seem :)
Mine was 15.8 back in Sept last year. I think I am ok time wise, but DH is freaking out he will be 60 and have a 18 year old at home lol. He says we are going to be the oldies at Kindy and I said hunny, we are all getting older. There are heaps of us older women trying for babies. I guess he is so exhausted from work and he wonders how he will do it all. I said "as if you will be the one getting up through the night, who are you trying to kid" lol.
I still feel young enough, but know that in 10 years time it could be a different story. I have a 50 year old friend with a 10 year old and she is so exhausted all the time. Having said that her 10 year old is the last of 6 kids, so she has done it tough for a long time.
-
Here's the list of tests.
ANA - Anti-Nuclear Antibody, anticardiolipin ab, antithrombin 111, karyotype, lupus anticoagulant, protein C and S, prothrombin gene mutation, factor V leiden/APC resistance, CA125, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, Prolactin, Progesterone,
Oestradiol, Luteinising Hormone, FSH, SHGB, Glucose (fasting), insulin fasting, DHEAS, 17 hysroxyprogesterone, sensitive testosterone. It was six vials of blood all up.
DP also had to have karyotype testing.
-
planetsasha - congrats on the blasty! glad the clexane is going ok. i still get the occassional small bruise too doing them in the love handles, but not nearly as much as doing them in the stomach. what do you use to treat your nk cells, antibiotics or something?
mrs mac - my bt is scheduled for monday, but might see if they will let me get it done friday - cant stand waiting! noticed you have 2 beagles... how cute are they? (and naughty, untrainable etc!)
vic - like n2l, i had a whole barrage of tests (just bt's - karotype, clotting disorders etc, around 10 vials or something :o ) last year to try and find a reason. i requested these myself. i was kind of disappointed that nothing was found (ridiculous i know). my fsh is within normal range, amh is 33 though, just outside of normal on the high end. ive read that high amh can indicate pcos, but i dont have that either. we have good quality embryos & have had 2 early miscarriages, so im hoping that the clexane with help with that. i know there is differing opinions with FS's about clexane too, but i am at a stage where i will try anything. ive heard aspirin can help with implantation too, but havent tried it. im interested in trying for a hatching blast, but havent read up about assisted hatching yet. btw, 50 is the new 30 - so you and your dh will be fine. ;)
n2l - i am with melb ivf too, did your FS tell you they wont test for nk cells, or melb ivf just dont do it at all? i was thinking about getting mine tested, you never know i guess. i was thinking more of the bt option, rather than the biopsy option (ouch!). i know the biopsy is supposed to be more accurate, but still, the less attention in there the better for me. i was reading today about recurrent miscarriage and elevated nk cells. but with like everything on the internet, it seems for every research study you find in support, there is one that disproves the study. :dunno:
hi to everyone else. :)
-
I was under the impression that no one at MIVF is into the whole nk cell thing and that I would need to see Nick Lolatgis at Monash. I could be wrong though....
Either way, my current FS is totally unconvinced about them.
-
hmmm, guess i will have to try and twist the arm of my FS or forget it for the time being. thanks for the info.
-
Andie - I had an intralipid infusion & if BT comes back positive I'll have to have another 1. I also take dexamethasone, aspirin, clexane daily & the 5 days leading up to ET I was taking an antibiotic. I figure i can only do what my FS suggests as he is the dr:) fingerscrossed it's been worth it!
-
thanks for the info, planetsasha. its useful to learn about different protocols & keep up to date with all this stuff. best of luck with your tww. :)
-
ooh!! I wondered where my name had got to on "the list" - then realised I've changed sections..... yay! hadn't even occured to me!!!
You guys have been busy in here today! Feels a bit like you are speaking a different language though!!
I feel like I'd like an "answer" as well.... was thinking today about the fact that I have ovulated at day 20 - 21 (or something) as my cycle is usually 30 - 32 days, that means I have a luteal phase of about 10 days --- according to Dr Google... () this is not good .....so..... that's my next question for the FS.....
but maybe we are all wanting an answer that's just not there.... maybe it's just a whole bunch of things that can't be 'fixed'

Congratulations Sarah, thats a great haul. I have been wondering how you have been going. Good luck for Saturday and the crazieness of the TWW. Rest up and have DH spoil you. I will update the list. Its very exciting.
-
Thanks N2L for the list. Will bring it up with my FS. What CD are you now? Did they work out if it was AF?
Myturn - Good luck for tomorrow. And pretty much good luck for this one. We are all  that this is the one.
To the girls in the TWW, how are you all coping. I see your busy in the other thread. Glad your all keeping each other company.
Saffy - Are you still around? Anything new to report?
Hi Joeve and everyone else.
AFM - Not much going on...It was good to see what everyone elses protocals are/ have been.
-
Hiya Vic :)
I am calling it CD 2 today. Still very light but it is consistent. Had my BTs today...
Thanks!
Hi to everyone else :hello:
-
Thats good your CD2 today. FX all BT come back with great numbers x
-
Hi Girls,
Sorry I've been MIA. Been away with work. Just catching up on all the interesting chatter now.
Sounds like lots of stuff has been happening for you all and a lot of it has been positive which is awesome.
AFM - still waiting for AF - have no idea where she is. Silly question... I had a stim cycle in Jan (ET cancelled) and then feb off to recover from OHSS. Is it at all possible that I could have fallen pregnant in Feb and that is why AF is not here? I'm considering POAS - What should I do?
I am just being impatient? Too many mind games - should I feel disappointed or excited that AF is not here - Arghhhhhh..... I don't know
Jane
-
Jane - I have no idea but I say poas! ;) wouldn't it be cool to get a surprise!
N2L - that was a long cycle! Congrats on the weight loss. Thinking of you. Xx
Myturn - all the best for tomorrow. Let's hope the no jabbing cycle is the one for you. Sending loads of sticky vibes.
Sarah - good to hear you are
Going well. Good luck for your transfer.
All the girls in the tww hope your keeping busy. I've noticed the poas action has begun for some of you and it looks like there could be some bfp on the way. Yay!
Vic, Saffy and Joeve hope you are well.
Well I had my appointment today. It seems my body even managed to baffle my fs. Has anyone else had plenty of follicles (4 dominants and 13 smaller) yet hormones dropping and lining thining? The plan is to do another cycle once af arrives to see if it happens again. If so, I will need some tests to investigate what is happening. If my body plays the game but no bfp we will need to make a choice as to where next. Dh still says no to ivf so I have dropped the subject and hoping that with time he will adjust to the idea. We have time on our aide so I just need to keep thinking of that. He just keeps saying 'I can't believe it has come to this, it's so easy for everyone else'. I don't plan on manipulating him into further treatment but I do plan on making sure he makes an informed choice.
Anyway enough about me! Will continue stalking you all and hoping you get your bfp.
-
Hey y'all. Thought I'd drop in and say hi.
2ww going ok - nearly cooked!
Jane I say POAS, course it could happen (well, as long as ....). How fabbo would that be!
Keta - just what you wanna be, a medical mystery - not! And you are doing the right thing not putting any pressure on your DH - you would regret making it happen like that. It is so important for him to be there for you and support you through it and you won't get that if he feels backed into a corner.
Sarah - great haul, good luck for the 10th - see you in the 2ww if I'm not out by then :)
Hi everyone else :)
-
:hello: Ladies
I dont want to be insensitive but I'm SO happy and thought I'd catch you up with my news, I tested early (was due for sunday) and I have a :bfp:
:leap: I woke up at 3:30 just wanting to know and tested with FR and sure enough the second line appeared in seconds!
I still cant believe it and DH was squinting cos he was not awake fully but I woke him up! LOL
I'm not sure when the FC will allow me to come in for a BT but I'm taking one step at a time as our only last baby was only with us for 6 weeks so :crossfingers:
and I'm sending you all :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy:
-
Mia I am so so excited for you!!! Such great news, you have made my day. Send you truck loads of sticky vibes. Woohoo!!!!
